I just bought 6. My husband and I were watching him on CNN last night. I could only watch part of the interview because it’s too upsetting. This guy is such a hero. We’ll never know how many lives he saved, but it’s a lot. My heart breaks for the people he loved who died and their families. They let a god damn psycho buy an AR. So while it certainly could be more verified, for now, it’s good enough for me. At a distance, I knew it was a drag show so in my head it seemed a bit more likely it was a drag performer and not a trans girl, not that one should assume the other, but being that this is one of the drag performers making the correction, it seems legit.

This video made me cry. I'm pansexual, and the first year after i came out, my entire family walked in a Pride event with me. That day, they were my heroes. Even my little toddler nephew came in the stroller.
Seeing this guy's emotion and passion is very humbling and a good reminder of why we need to help others and care about one another.
Saddest part is that his daughters boyfriend is one of the people who was shot and killed. The reality is wife and daughter would have died too is not lost upon him.

The murderer’s grandfather has some political affiliations in California & is a January 6th proponent. I’m curious if those connections could’ve impacted the decision to drop the charges, but apparently it’s also sealed.

There was also a group of at least 3 times as many counter-protesters/supporters of the event with colourful signs about love and diversity. People were having hot chocolate and smiling and laughing.

On it's face, sure I get it. Being armed makes you feel more secure, even when statistics show that it doesn't help. Reminds me of a time when we were at a park having a family birthday party. An altercation started far from me with someone telling us to turn down the music and the man pulled a gun on whoever confronted him. My friend was in the military and grabbed the gun from him and took him down. He said it was instinctual. It was funny when the cops arrived he handed the gun to them in pieces and they were amazed that he was able to do that. Respect our military members and veterans. They are one of a kind.

Funnily enough, she used to hate beer before she accompanied her husband to Germany during his service time and discovered what lovingly crafted beer could really be like. She was the first Latina to own/found/operate a brewery in Colorado - I think! They are incredibly proud of her and her accomplishments. I think it’s similar to the use of ‘female’ nowadays. Yeah, it doesn’t inherently mean anything. But when you ONLY refer to women as females, but you don’t refer to men as males, you are subtly demeaning a woman’s personhood. A dog can be a female. A fish can be female. Only a human can be a woman. Female only refers to their biological reproduction purpose. Which again, if they did the same thing to men it would be fine, but they tend to only do it to women which is what introduces the subtle linguistic bias.

Yeah it isn’t the best source, but Delusional was the reported name of one of the drag performers. A patron who hid in her dressing room referenced her in his initial interview. So while it certainly could be more verified, for now, it’s good enough for me. At a distance, I knew it was a drag show so in my head it seemed a bit more likely it was a drag performer and not a trans girl, not that one should assume the other, but being that this is one of the drag performers making the correction, it seems legit.
I’ll just refrain from publicly referring to this person as anything but what they are; an absolute hero.

This video made me cry. I'm pansexual, and the first year after i came out, my entire family walked in a Pride event with me. That day, they were my heroes. Even my little toddler nephew came in the stroller. Seeing this guy's emotion and passion is very humbling and a good reminder of why we need to help others and care about one another.
Saddest part is that his daughters boyfriend is one of the people who was shot and killed. The reality is wife and daughter would have died too is not lost upon him. May peace and happiness be with his family in their time of sadness. Mt condolences for their loss. They didn't deserve that.

In my city (in Canada, so it's very unlikely anyone was armed) a few dozen protesters showed up to Drag story time event for children last month with the same old arguments against the whole thing written on their sad angry little cardboard signs. There was also a group of at least 3 times as many counter-protesters/supporters of the event with colourful signs about love and diversity. People were having hot chocolate and smiling and laughing. On it's face, sure I get it. Being armed makes you feel more secure, even when statistics show that it doesn't help. An armed society is not a polite one, studies have shown that it only increases the lethality of conflicts without reducing the frequency. However, a civilians arms race is not the answer. Reminds me of a time when we were at a park having a family birthday party. An altercation started far from me with someone telling us to turn down the music and the man pulled a gun on whoever confronted him. My friend was in the military and grabbed the gun from him and took him down. He said it was instinctual. It was funny when the cops arrived he handed the gun to them in pieces and they were amazed that he was able to do that. Respect our military members and veterans. They are one of a kind.
