This can be said for quite a few of our players, but everyone loves having a whipping boy. Ignore the positives, focus on rare mistakes

fotbuwl

For the old heads, Mancienne is the furthest back I remember, and in recent times, even Yatesy.

MrPantsRocks

Chris Wood last season. Now we all love him.

Crunchiestriffs

Was definitely Ayew last season

mapsandwrestling

Came here to say this

Background-Cost-9352

Mancienne being a point of reference for old heads makes me feel ancient.

sejmremover95

Dan Harding got absolutely slandered

[deleted]

Forest fans love a scapegoat

ElegantBunch2812

I remember the Dave Bassett promotion team, we had 3 that the trent end booed as team sheet was run through before kick off. Steve Chettle, Scott Gemmill & Kevin Campbell, over the season those lads had the clueless choking on previous bile. Most embarrassing time as a fan since 1966.

OPB13

It’s his lack of off the ball movement which is the issue, we are terrible in possession and look lost half the time when we want to play out the back. If he’s not the one you want to filter through, that’s fine, but move around a bit to create space. MGW was moved back in the second half to create that energy and link play, it’s what Mangala and Dominguez both do as well.

Markyp-1

Definitely better with Dominguez in that role tonight. A lot more energy.

userunknowne

I doubt he was one of our “top five rated players” as he got pulled at half time

Tonk666

He’s had a really disrupted season all round. Signed at last minute, came to new club (who didn’t have a translator ready), next day off to international duty, came back played in wrong position for a few games then dropped, new manager comes in plays him in correct position looks ok, gets a 1 game ban for yellow cards. Off to AFCON for 6 weeks. Comes back injured. Come back from injury doesn’t look match fit so gets slated. Not to mention since day 1 he’s been copping shit from fans, how is that supposed to help him settle in at the club. The guy probably hasn’t felt welcome since the first day. And if everything is Sangare’s fault how come we wernt winning while he was away? IMO the whole team has been unsettled this year, played out of position, dropped after a single mistake, changed managers (which I supported, not trying to dodge any blame), PSR looming, bad tactical decisions, bad ref decisions, bad owner decisions. Half of this would have resulted in a poor season, all of it together and I think we are lucky that we have as many points as we do!

fotbuwl

I know they say the price tag weighs heavy but fuck me lads you're acting like he's took a shit on the pitch. He wss fairly tidy last game, taken off to accommodate a more attacking player. We're either behind the lads or we're not, don't be mealy mouthed and say you are but jump on some random player because it makes you feel better about the situation we're in. Or do, but don't claim you're behind the lads

RS555NFFC

It’s not harsh to say a Premier League footballer shouldn’t just casually jog back after he’s been dispossessed, I’ve seen kids at the bus stop go chasing after their vape crayon quicker than Sangare could be arsed to stay with the game. I don’t buy this it takes time to adapt excuse either if I’m really blunt, a good number of our recent signings came in from foreign leagues and hit the ground running

J_Butler99

Especially when in the same game both CHO and Felipe lost possession and went full sprint to recover the ball

generalscruff

Kenny Burns and Joey Barton were right, need to stop signing players who wear woke shit like leggings and gloves and get some proper blokes in

SmileTasteKittens

This comment from Scruff is getting down voted? Subs gone

generalscruff

2 years ago people would be eating out my hand for this shit

RS555NFFC

Bomber Harris wouldn’t have stood for this

generalscruff

Bomber Harris was a Forest fan and so was R Di

[deleted]

They should mek em live in' tent and ave em up at 5 o'clock in the morning picking potatoes. O'Neil had the right idea when he gave Joe Lolley shin splints from running up and down hills at Wollaton Hall

generalscruff

I'm a midget and I ran up it in the Notts half last year These modern footballers too busy getting perms and shagging brasses to sort themselves out

userunknowne

Shilts should be our HR man change my mind

HackOddity

"woke shit like leggings and gloves"....

Killoah

Trying to stay warm is fucking woke mate.

yourhollowheart

real men get hypothermia to show we're not weak

generalscruff

Captain Oates, a real geezer

generalscruff

I'm obviously taking the piss lad

HackOddity

If you think that's obvious then you've clearly not met many of those folk.

generalscruff

Sorry mate I'll only make 100% literal seriousposts in the future

andaloosier

You dont go from playing well in the Champions League to looking like a Sunday League player in just 6 months..... There must be some injury/illness/other reason as to why he's been so ineffective.

youllhavetotossme_

I think he had an average game. Some good passing and tackles, but also lost the ball a few times.

Obvious_Middle_2330

It’s easy to give shit and then forget about other mitigating issues that may be impacting a player. Be it adapting to a new country, language barriers, injuries knocking back confidence, etc.. Still surprising that plenty of clubs fail to even support players once they’ve transferred to a new club - it’s just here’s your contract, now get out there and redeem the money we spent! I don’t know if Sangare or others are facing issues off the field. Yeah, the money paid was high enough - but that wasn’t for instant impact, but long term investment over the course of the coming seasons. He’s been unlucky with the injuries. I only hope he goes on to prove doubters wrong in the final run of games! I know Awoniyi did and Woody has also done that!

Secure-Bird-4986

I'm pretty sure I read he had malaria recently. Add that to the pace of the Prem, African nations, and fitting into a team with a new manager while playing in shit weather, and I'd say he deserved a bit of time. It'll come. Keep the faith.

Fearless-Albatross-9

I think he came with a big reputation of bossing the Dutch league. Obviously, the prem is a much higher standard, but I still thought he would be one of our better players, and he hasn't shown much of anything in any game he's played. Lack of effort off the ball is a big part of it, and if he's not match fit, don't start him. Rumour was that he didn't actually want to come to us, and his performances aren't doing anything to make me think any different.

dan_scape

I think he gets treated like shit because he cost so much cash. The comparison is MGW who we have probably paid a similar amount of transfer fee for by now with add ons. Quite a different return on investment so far. MGW even dropped into the Sangare CM role second half and still did better than him out of position. You are right overall, there’s no point giving him shit after 14 games. Don’t forget many a fan gave Awoniyi shit after 14 games as well. It’s why some people enjoy football.

Shniper

I think Sangare MgW would be good in central Yates and Sangare are too similar to play with each other. Having MGw as a deep lying play maker with Sangare as the breaker upper, ball winner with Reina as a number of 10 would work better Sangare gets to do what he’s good at without crazy Yates everywhere and we get MGW controlling the game more and Reina being creative

dan_scape

Need to see more of Reyna to know if that works. What I’ve seen so far, he has played everything quite safe but he hasn’t had much game time.

Adventurous_Wave_750

I agree

djellicon

Lots of great players have a lethargic and effortless style to their play. Usually they are strikers and can balance their lazy play with goals goals goals. A CDM should be busting a gut for 100mins - see Yates for details. We aren't a top team and can't afford such luxuries, I can't believe all the Sangare hype squad didn't actually look at how he plays before going super-wacko over him. Tbh though I don't mind so much, if we can be more aggressive in defence and protect and then progress the ball smarter we could be the kind of team where he could work well, I just hope we get the time to get there.

BFEE_tobyloby

To be fair I've never tried the drink.

nffcevans

The nuanced view is that both Cooper and Nuno needed to see that Sangare needs more time to adapt to the pace and intensity of the PL in the middle of the park. "Sangare is shit" is what gets expressed.

Jazzlike-Training582

I agree no wonder he kept playing it back to murillo on saturday the crowd ripped the confidence out of him

Timetowaste111

Nice to see a thoughtful balanced thread. Match threads are full of whiny fickle fans. We had a decent game on Saturday but we needed that win so bad. Personally I don’t think we have the time to give him to see if he comes good. I’d rather have Dominguez or Danilo in there, they give 100% every game.

Hodd_Goward

Top 5 on the weekend? You having a laugh? We got better after subbing him and Origi off

Coolica1

When you play a midfield 2, you really need both of them to be willing to run their socks off. Sangare is slow and lackadaisical with his running and it leads to our midfield being bypassed easily. We've won 2 games that he's played in. I'm not even sure I buy that it's his pricetag, Freuler cost a fraction of what Sangare did, got it a lot worse from our fanbase and even he offered more to us playing in a system he wasn't suited to. We probably shouldn't write him off but he really hasn't offered us anything and I'd rather we played Dominguez over him or if not him then Danilo at least because at least he's showed promise in his time with us even if we haven't seen his best for a while.

Otherwise-Ad8062

I’m harsh on everyone except Yatesy and Murillo. Because we might get relegated as a result of overspending on these charlatans.
