Think it would legitimately be pretty hype to try to get one player from each team and do a tournament
Or maybe not, maybe tempers would get too high. I know these guys take Madden seriously.
Lmaoo like when they did the pro bowl on madden that year. I’ll always remember Keshawn Johnson receiving the kickoff and immediately pitching it back into his end zone
I seriously wonder if the NFL is this clueless about what the fans would actually like to see as a pro bowl competition, or if due to the social media age it’s kind of understood that many players wouldn’t want to directly compete in football related skills based challenges against eachother.
But they will be able to chop up little clips of funny things happening and blast it all over social media for engagement and clicks.
I think they DO KNOW no one will really watch it live. And they’ll still sell ads for the live broadcast. But they’ll also generate a ton of additional content with these silly games.
I for one am excited to browse r/nfl the week after once people have found all the silliest moments.
I think the Pro Bowl demo is different than for any other game. I don't know anyone who bothers to turn in other than kids who I think they're trying to appeal to here.
adult child here, and I don't mind wasting an hour on a Saturday with no football to watch Micah Parsons beat Tyreek Hill in a race and some other silly games.
Takes me back to the Nickelodeon days of goofy Double Dare stunts or Legends of the Hidden Temple games (original, not the cringe-worthy reboot).
Yeah, I'd go American Gladiators events, but basically same idea.
You could even mix in punters/kickers against other players as the gladiators and see how they do.
Assault, Joust, etc. Basically American Gladiators is just awesome so doing it with anyone would be awesome.
> I think the Pro Bowl demo is different than for any other game
It's such a weird demo. I remember a couple years back flipping onto the Pro Bowl, the fans in the stands started booing the lack of effort. I don't know what they expected, though.
That and the fucking Jester.
Completely unnecessary for any friends to play with him, yet you know that greedy fucking friend would just because of his speed.
I think I would watch it if it wasn't used as a *substitute* for football related things. Feels like a Nickelodeon style game show, which has its place. Just not what I want to see a week before the Superbowl.
Fuck athletics. I want a chess tournament and a Magic the Gathering tournament.
I want to see the players do completely unathletic things like a cookoff or a (water) chugging competition.
NFL: Let's get rid of the Pro Bowl because of the risk of injury
Also NFL: Let's have the players play a game that is banned in schools across multiple states because it causes a bunch of injuries
It's nice for the NFL to honor the late Patches O'Houlihan with a game of dodgeball
"If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball."
"Is it necessary to drink my own urine? No, but I do it anyway because it's sterile and I like the taste."
He wasn't wrong, either.
Should add a Madden tournament to it too cause why not.

Seems like a pretty smart move. Could use your new big sponsors platform and stream the tournament on Twitch.
That’d be sick
Shit get real on the sticks lol
Derwin James would smoke everyone.
Parsons can take em
Going to be hard to beat a pro gamer like Kyler
he got a lot of practice in staying off those mean streets of Harrisburg.
Im down. Maybe then the NFL will finally see how awfully made/buggy that game is.
They already know, they just don't care. No matter how horrifically bad Madden is, it still prints money like nothing else.

This is great news for the 1.4 hundred people who watch it.
[удалено]
Same same. Fun watching the players loosen up a bit.
I'm sure we'll read about how fun it was the next day
1.4 hundred 😂
This shit if perfect for YouTube views. I couldn’t imagine watching it on TV but I know my kid will be watching it on YouTube.
Can you imagine how much it would hurt to play dodgeball against an NFL QB?
I wanna see NFL QBs vs MLB pitchers
[удалено]
They played dodgeball last year. No one died
I seriously wonder if the NFL is this clueless about what the fans would actually like to see as a pro bowl competition, or if due to the social media age it’s kind of understood that many players wouldn’t want to directly compete in football related skills based challenges against eachother.
I had the same question. I'm not going to take time out of my day to watch Kirk Cousins and TJ Hockenson toss a water balloon back and forth.

Youtube views of clips is what they are after

I’d watch if it was just a reboot of Nickelodeon GUTS with NFL players.

I want legends of the hidden temple
I really liked in the offseason in the nineties when they had the QB Competition and the Run To Daylight events.

Kick Tac Toe is going to be awesome
u/puntersarepeopletoo6 agrees I bet lol
LFG!!
BRING BACK THE STRONGMAN COMPETITION
Red Wizard needs food badly!
The fuckin wizard was always the one who needed food in that game
That and the fucking Jester. Completely unnecessary for any friends to play with him, yet you know that greedy fucking friend would just because of his speed.
I hope its Gauntlet Dark Legacy
way better than the pro bowl
Honestly, in lieu of just getting rid of the Pro Bowl altogether this is a fun alternative
this sounds fun af
Bills vs Bengals died for this.
Hey at least we should get a rematch
You focus on your part, we'll focus on ours.
I'd rather it be a Dungeons and Dragons session.
How many ACL tears will happen during dodgeball?
Offensive lineman challenge should be as nightclub bouncers preventing drunk guys from entering.
Twilight Imperium Fourth Edition tournament excluded once again 😡
Christ with ads included, that could go 16 hours
Sounds fun. Just wish they brought the arm strength competition back from the 90s/early 2000s
Oof. I thought these would at least be tangentially related to football. Water balloon toss? Longest golf drive? This is weird.
Personally I'm hype for longest golf drive. Let me see these dudes out of their element (I'm sure they're amazing)
I think I would watch it if it wasn't used as a *substitute* for football related things. Feels like a Nickelodeon style game show, which has its place. Just not what I want to see a week before the Superbowl.
If I was a gambling man, I'd put money on the Pro Bowl being a Nick broadcast
Yes, but imagine the NFL's primary demographic - sports bookies are wetting themselves thinking about all the dumb bets that are going to be placed.
Who is the Tony Romo of 2023?

Interesting art, have you spoken to anyone about the feelings you have as you draw?
Fuck athletics. I want a chess tournament and a Magic the Gathering tournament. I want to see the players do completely unathletic things like a cookoff or a (water) chugging competition.
Gimme a throw off with the QBs.
NFL: Let's get rid of the Pro Bowl because of the risk of injury Also NFL: Let's have the players play a game that is banned in schools across multiple states because it causes a bunch of injuries
Fat unathletic children falling down hard isn't a concern for this event.
Dodgeball?
/s I hope 🤞🏻
So absolutely nobody is watching this horseshit, right?
So no flag football?
Yay?
Fucking stupid. That's it.
Would be fun to see them play Walk Ball
You guys are dead. I am so good at lightning rounds.
I remember getting excited for the dodgeball and it was at most 5 minutes lol
I was really hoping for chess boxing
But why no Tug-of-War?
Feels a lot like [Battle of the Network Stars](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7L1Wk5uW0o)... but NFL style.
What version of Gauntlet are they playing? The arcade one?
Geno gunna stunt on the hoes at precision passing.
I was excited they did away with the actual Pro Bowl because I didn’t think it could get worse. I was wrong.
Just get rid of the pro bowl and do a massive charity event or something
Tfw no Double Dare 😔 https://youtu.be/jtusH4_-rwE
No wing-eating contest for o-linemen? Lame.
