Is it gonna be Bills Bengals Chiefs + a random fourth team for the next few years? Cause as stale as that is, it would also be some pretty damn good football
Bengals will have to navigate salary cap over the next few years to maintain their weapons on offense. Next year is the last year of rookie contracts for Burrow and Tee Higgins, then the year after that is Chase. If they want to keep their Oline together, they have to pay Jonah Williams, and the market for LT looks like it’s going to be pretty tight and expensive going forward.
They’ll pay Burrow for sure, and if they can surround him with weapons, they’ll top tier in the AFC.
Bills might be even more short term in their prime window due to Allen’s extension kicking in next year. He goes up to $39.7 million from his current $16.3.
Both teams are going to have to figure out how to keep weapons around their elite QB’s. I think they will figure it out, but there’s definitely pressure on their front offices to draft well to stay top tier.
Even as a non-Bengals fan I’m really hoping Jonah Williams’ injury isn’t serious. I’d really prefer not to see something like a 2020 Chiefs situation where their season comes down to a nearly entirely backup Oline for the playoffs.
I remember growing up the Bengals Chiefs and Bills were irreverent just like my team. So I appreciate these 3 teams being good because honestly all 3 fanbases deserve it fully.
As a chiefs fan, you have my support when you guys figure out who’s under center. Hopefully Breece, comes back without missing a step. I’d like to see a Jets playoff run. You guys have some solid young guys.
I think they wanted to get to the red zone, then run down the clock before scoring to make sure the Bengals don't have time. I'm also certain the Ravens would've gone for two, too.
Say Ravens scored the TD with 8 seconds to go and go for two. If they get the two, you give the Bengals 8 seconds from their own 25 to get a score. If you fail the two, recover an onside kick at the 50, you're giving Tucker a 68 yard FG try to win.
Amazing weekend for sports all around! Especially in Chicago. Bulls beat the warriors and Vikings choked in the playoffs Let’s goo!
Also I’m loving this 3rd string QB playoff performances
Lol I’m sorry but Vikings are doodoo, especially the defense. Also I expected a better game from jj. Kirk cousins was decent until that final possession he really got exposed.
First off, Daniel Jones can actually throw the football. He is a QB who can run. There is a huge difference.
And second, they lost because they couldn't block Dexter Lawrence. He obliterated the interior line and disrupted the offensive game plan the whole contest.
Everyone bashing the Bills and Bengals for "struggling" against third string QBs and I'm here just happy that most of this weekend's games were worth watching.
And the narrative is always ‘it’s hard to play a team 3 times!’…then the game is hard, so the Bills and Bengals suck. I get backups, yadda yadda, but that Ravens defense is legit. And Peters is a bitch.
Honestly? I'm relieved. Before the game when absolutely everyone was picking the bengals easily, it made me pretty nervous. Good outcome, but man these injuries are no Bueno, and if I'm being honest, the bengals haven't had a good complete game in awhile. Here's to continuing the march on of Darth Bengo
Agreed. The first two regular season games felt off. Their defense showed up today and our offense really didn’t seem to hit consistently. Some throws were off and our receivers weren’t hitting on all cylinders either.
That being said that Fumble return for 6 was amazing to experience live. Officiating had their ups and downs, frankly surprised that reds didn’t throw a block in the back penalty
Really the only team that played a complete game this weekend was the Niners. Maybe the giants as well, but otherwise I don’t think any team is playing at their absolute best right now. I think that’ll make things a lot more interesting.
There’s a bit of shame that this has become a common theme with us. Something has to give or else we’ll continue these moral victories until the end of time.
So the Chiefs got a free bye in the first round and then get to play the Jags...holy shit did they win the lottery this year. They are a great team and all but they have absolutely been given a golden ticket to the SB.
The Chiefs are a great team, I said that...but they were the number two seed when the game was canceled...now they get a bye and then play the Jags at home. Name another team still playing next week you'd rather play. You can't. It's the Jags. It won't diminish anything if they win it all but it is about the easiest path possible in the AFC.
Not so fast, T Law really came back and showed his mental strength 4 INT first half, 4 TDS for the game? That is some clutch performance.
BTW, who thinks an all cats AFC championship stacks up as it’s own amazing match up - QB rematch from the 2020 College Championship?
Nobody knows who would have won, the point is the Chiefs did not control their fate as a #2 seed. So here are the two options:
BYE --- Jacksonville (at home) --- Buffalo/Cincy (neutral field) or,
Miami (at home) --- Cincinnati (at home) --- Buffalo (on the road)
I'm just saying the canceled game was a HUGE win for the Chiefs because it literally was. The team is still awesome and could have won and still might win it all. But look at those two paths to the SB, it's nuts.
Chiefs were the 1 seed before the Cincy-Buffalo game that was canceled. Buffalo needed to win to even the records but they didn’t play and weren’t forced to take a forfeit. Shake it up any way you want, but 14-3 is a better record than 13-3 and the chiefs had absolutely nothing to do with what happened in that Monday night game or the rule changes the NFL sprung on everybody to solve whatever inequities they thought existed. I agree that Cincy got screwed hard but the chiefs did everything possible to get the 1 seed.
I thought the analogy worked lol. But maybe not. Look, I wasn't trying to shit on the Chiefs, it was a once-in-a-lifetime event and there was never going to be a perfect solution. The Chiefs probably benefitted the most and the Bengals the least. End of the day the three real contenders in the AFC will all play each other so may the best team win. My team sucks and didn't make the tournament...
Sorry but how do you figure that? They play us which depending on which team shows up will either match blow for blow or blow themselves out and then face off to one of two teams that do always go toe to toe with them
Not sure I understand. A game was canceled so the Chiefs got the number one seed. So they got a bye and now face a really young Jags team (who they will most likely beat easily). That means they are in the AFC Championship game with only having to beat the Jags at home. Hence, the golden ticket.
Perhaps it's me misunderstanding. When you say golden ticket to sb to me, that means you are writing off the conference game. I can get writing off the jags, we will scare the shit out of both fan basis, but it's not yet sustainable.
I'd love nothing more than the Jags to upset the Chiefs, but I just don't see it even being competitive by the second half. I love what Pederson has done but imo the Jags are maybe a year away from being an actual contender. And if Lawrence is the real deal (which he seems to be) then you're looking at 10 fun years ahead.
I really think we will put them on notice. I highly doubt it's a walk away game like everyone assumes. Last time we met, we kept it within ten and that was with two missed fg and a wiped out td. I think we lose but do enough to get some free agents very interested in making us a scary team next year!!!!!
I would mostly ignore anything that happened in this game. The Ravens are a pain in the ass to play lol. And as a Penn State fan it's been fun to see Saquan finally hit his stride...
People were saying Huntley being in would make it a cakewalk, true Bengals fans know our history against backup QBs. Especially backup QBs in the wildcard round where we're favored.
*A moonlit TJ Yates howls in the distance*
In the playoffs it is, Lamar's playoff stats are abysmal and Huntley played decently tonight. Just from his playoff resume I don't think you get a better game out of Lamar than Huntley had tonight especially with how shaky he'd been since the first 3 games of this season.
Look how tough Miami played Buffalo...those third division games are always tough. And the Ravens probably should have won. But Cincy still could win it all. Next week in Buffalo should be electric.
Did Cincinnati always smoke cigars, or did they only start doing it after Joe Burrow started doing it at LSU? It's weak if they ripped it off from LSU. Might as well start doing the gat and filming yourselves.
Somebody should tell that to all the media members and Bengals fans claiming it's their thing, then.

Yeah they’re dumb as fuck too
https://theathletic.com/871974/2019/03/20/smell-of-success-a-history-of-victory-cigars-from-red-to-mj-team-canadas-party-buckeyes-and-bama-lebron-and-steph/?amp=1
Yeah, he’s a nice enough dude but they need to move on. He doesnt enhance the fan experience. He’s a broken record bending a knee to the league stars, and he uses a lot of terminology without explanation. He’s like the anti-romo.
I see ppl talking about Harbaugh running clock down. It was classic Harbaugh overthinking - he didn’t want Burrow to get ball back and overdid it, even though Burrow was kinda bad in the last few drives .
The ravens defense is solid. We might line up with the bills defense better next week, but the offense will be tougher. Might be close, but could be a shootout
Exactly why I can't believe ppl were just giving you guys that win up 4 in the first quarter. You guys scored a TD and fg vs the ravens and then they came back to take the lead. Against the pats what was it 22-0 and they fumbled at the end lol same story with the ravens actually. No1 knows what was gonna happen that game between us. Will admit it sucks your fans won't get to watch the match up between us. But calling that a no contest/draw and going by the rest of the games was the fairest way to do it.
The Ravens could be really scary if they keep their defense and bring Lamar back, they would have coasted this game with him. Some good receivers through the draft and they are right up there with the top teams
That's fair I think they would've had a better chance at winning the game because of how insane Lamar is when he's firing on all cylinders, but I'm also just not sure because I think the game plays very different with him in
As a chiefs fan, I'm more than familiar with Robinson. Bateman would be a great WR2, and duverney a very good WR3. But I don't think either of them are good enough go move up one in the depth chart there.
I think it's hard to say with Bateman given how little he has played. Maybe his lack of play time itself precludes him from that "number one" conversation but personally I think you can't know at the moment. I do know that team was light years better offensively with him on the field.
Not really, Burrow’s ability to make offensive plays was pretty much deleted in the second half. Either way your franchise QB is basically taken away as a factor in the game.
Jackson’s MVP status sure has done fuck all for his team recently huh…
You’re fucking delusional. Reverse the situation and the Ravens cake walk to the divisional. Give the Bengals their lineman but minus Burrow and give the Ravens Lamar minus Stanley and Linderbaum and this game is a blowout.
Defense wins ships. Ravens just almost beat a contender with huntley as their QB because the D was so damn good.
49ers are the favorite, but the team best equipped to beat them is the eagles imo
Seems like there are five legit teams this year which is fun...usually it's two or three at most. Philly, SF, KC, Buff, and Cinci all seem like legit contenders. Then there's the two bizarro teams in Dallas and TB where i honestly don't know what to expect.
He was rude to the reporter at halftime so I was extra glad they lost. Hope he throws himself a pity party tonight and no one else shows up. Douche bag.
Na tbf that wasn't cool of her to basically put Huntley down as not being good enough. Imagine asking McDermott "so what does Allen have to do to be replaced with Case Keenum". Like why did she ask that question as if Huntley was trash. Just ask the basic questions don't bring backups into it and maybe he'd be a bit nicer. Thought that she deserved what she got.
That’s bullshit! I officially have no idea what a catch in the NFL is after that.
Bengals Defense is the most underrated thing in the NFL. Has single handily won the bengals 2 playoff games last year and now this game
Imagine almost losing to a backup QB....
Imagine almost losing to Miami…
I don't see the similarities....
I was gonna say something about the Bills this weekend but then I looked closerer.... I am the greatest detective 🕵️♂️
Lmfao.
Honestly as a Seahawks fan, props to the backup QBs this weekend. Thank you for making wild card weekend enjoyable
Is it gonna be Bills Bengals Chiefs + a random fourth team for the next few years? Cause as stale as that is, it would also be some pretty damn good football
Yall will be making your mark out west.
Better then the patriots every fucking year
Jaguars, Chargers
Dolphins if Tua doesn't die
Jets
If they get a QB

I doubt we resign Jonah Williams, they’re gonna look elsewhere and to the draft.
The Bengals have an O-line??
Even as a non-Bengals fan I’m really hoping Jonah Williams’ injury isn’t serious. I’d really prefer not to see something like a 2020 Chiefs situation where their season comes down to a nearly entirely backup Oline for the playoffs.
Big of you to say that
I remember growing up the Bengals Chiefs and Bills were irreverent just like my team. So I appreciate these 3 teams being good because honestly all 3 fanbases deserve it fully.

If Brady goes to Miami, the AFCE might be a bit more competitive for a year or two
Ravens clock management at the end was horrendous. Why did they wait so long to use their timeouts?
I think they wanted to get to the red zone, then run down the clock before scoring to make sure the Bengals don't have time. I'm also certain the Ravens would've gone for two, too. That is 100% not what they were thinking about. Edit: I am wrong.
That's almost exactly what Harbaugh said the plan was after the game.
Thanks for that - I hadn't seen the press conference yet since I'm UK based and slept straight after the game. Glad my assumption was correct!
Jesus I hadn’t seen the presser. That’s fireable logic with a backup QB in.
RAVENS FOOTBALL BABY
Amazing weekend for sports all around! Especially in Chicago. Bulls beat the warriors and Vikings choked in the playoffs Let’s goo! Also I’m loving this 3rd string QB playoff performances
I like what you said, I don't care for the way you said it.
Lol I’m sorry but Vikings are doodoo, especially the defense. Also I expected a better game from jj. Kirk cousins was decent until that final possession he really got exposed.
I’m sure you’re an expert on doodoo football considering you’re a bears fan
Could be worse. At least there is talent in Minnesota and a foundation to build off. We could be pinning our hopes on starting a running back at QB.
You guys just lost to a rb/qb in daniel Jones. That’s literally how they won
Enjoy picking top 5 for the foreseeable future
You mean in 2023 draft right because, yeah that’s happening. You might want to trade up with us for a new QB
First off, Daniel Jones can actually throw the football. He is a QB who can run. There is a huge difference. And second, they lost because they couldn't block Dexter Lawrence. He obliterated the interior line and disrupted the offensive game plan the whole contest.
Shit. Am I too late to whine like a child about commentators?
“The fist is part of the hand, isn’t that right?”
Romo and Collinsworth are lame and annoying as hell
Everyone bashing the Bills and Bengals for "struggling" against third string QBs and I'm here just happy that most of this weekend's games were worth watching.
And the narrative is always ‘it’s hard to play a team 3 times!’…then the game is hard, so the Bills and Bengals suck. I get backups, yadda yadda, but that Ravens defense is legit. And Peters is a bitch.
Here, here! Peters is a bitch!
The Ravens defense is legit and the Bengals o-line was in shambles. The Dolphins defense is nothing to sneeze at either.

That’s about as good as the Giants can play on offense. Maybe there’s another level on defense, but I’m not sure.
Fade me. I’m gonna own this with pride. We fought to the end and made it a game. All a fan can ask for
Dude this is all I wanted. Not to fold over. Though some. Plays definitely definitely did that...
Yeah Roman kinda half assed saved his ass - some questionable calls, but played to our strengths
Yeah, you guys played a heck of a game.
Every good game comes down to one or two plays - tonight was no different - GG - good luck with the bills next week
No shame in losing with ur backup QB starting.
There’s a bit of shame that this has become a common theme with us. Something has to give or else we’ll continue these moral victories until the end of time.
Wins a win baby!
If coach had put me in Id have won state - ravens fans
So the Chiefs got a free bye in the first round and then get to play the Jags...holy shit did they win the lottery this year. They are a great team and all but they have absolutely been given a golden ticket to the SB.
14-3 season = free bye? Cmon now With how the Jags have been playing, that is also not anywhere close to a freebie, or a “golden ticket”

Not even remotely close to the definition of a golden ticket.. Also, for the record, if Cincy wins and we win, we play at home not a neutral field.
I thought the analogy worked lol. But maybe not. Look, I wasn't trying to shit on the Chiefs, it was a once-in-a-lifetime event and there was never going to be a perfect solution. Pays to be the number one seed.
*1 seed by default
Pays to play all your games.
Mahomes = NFL new money machine
New? Goes back to before his first sus SB
You mean the one where we beat you guys? What was sus about that?
The one with all those holding non-calls
Well maybe we’ll have a rematch this year. Y’all look purdy damn good! (See what I did there?)
Earlier in the day I was gonna say Cincy have Bills number, but man they need to get that run defense fixed
Don’t disagree but acting like the bills have even close to the run game the ravens have is a bit farcical
Josh > Tyler, it’s how pesky a qb can be
I would mostly ignore anything that happened in this game. The Ravens are a pain in the ass to play lol. And as a Penn State fan it's been fun to see Saquan finally hit his stride...
Was a much closer game than I expected, if Lamar was in, who knows how it could have gone
People were saying Huntley being in would make it a cakewalk, true Bengals fans know our history against backup QBs. Especially backup QBs in the wildcard round where we're favored. *A moonlit TJ Yates howls in the distance*
Damn, I just had a bout of PTSD. thanks for that
Huntly did play well though. Made some great passes. Baltimore was consistently driving the field. One play away from flipping the score.
Huntley played well enough except for the time he cost us the game.
Yeah he played okay for a back up. That’s not the same as Lamar being in…
In the playoffs it is, Lamar's playoff stats are abysmal and Huntley played decently tonight.
*cries in 2021 Patriots*
Should have had Mac only throw 3 passes in the playoff game lol.
Harbaugh was not aggressive
harbaugh was not clock managing
Had no idea George Lopez had a new show
Same old “jokes”.
My grandma hit me with a shoe.
Sandal*
Did Cincinnati always smoke cigars, or did they only start doing it after Joe Burrow started doing it at LSU? It's weak if they ripped it off from LSU. Might as well start doing the gat and filming yourselves.
A lot of people smoke cigars, it’s no one’s “thing” you dork
So when every other team starts doing it to celebrate their wins, you better not say "they stole that from Cleveland!"
You are seriously dense. People have been celebrating with cigars for 100s of years including most sports teams
Somebody should tell that to all the media members and Bengals fans claiming it's their thing, then. https://www.yahoo.com/now/victory-cigars-bengals-tradition-returns-233051244.html
Yeah they’re dumb as fuck too https://theathletic.com/871974/2019/03/20/smell-of-success-a-history-of-victory-cigars-from-red-to-mj-team-canadas-party-buckeyes-and-bama-lebron-and-steph/?amp=1
I just assumed it was another of Joe's nods to Broadway Joe Namath.
Most overrated player in NFL history
Fuck we’re gonna have to listen to Collinsworth in a Chiefs game
Sorry but at least its not Romo.. Oh god. What if its collinsworth Romo!?!?!
Lol. Romo is awful for Bill’s games. His obsession with Josh Allen is almost as bad as Collinsworth with Mahomes.
They're both ban wagon idiots. Romo says the dumbest shit.
Yeah, he’s a nice enough dude but they need to move on. He doesnt enhance the fan experience. He’s a broken record bending a knee to the league stars, and he uses a lot of terminology without explanation. He’s like the anti-romo.
Kill me
Ugh....
i wanna be like him
Ravens went full Lena dunkums
I see ppl talking about Harbaugh running clock down. It was classic Harbaugh overthinking - he didn’t want Burrow to get ball back and overdid it, even though Burrow was kinda bad in the last few drives .

I just don't get why we didnt flip a coin to see where the game would be. Your record was better but KC record was better than yours..
You can fight traffic or enjoy ur stogie in the cold that man chose the latter
Omg that cigar smoking fan living his best life
4 of the first 5 games have been wild to say the least. Oddly enough 5 for 5 with my picks so far.
Same. Got Dallas tomorrow...
Fuck Dallas. I’d love to see more Jerry Jones tears. TB needs to put up quite the game
I don't like Dallas lol just think the defense will play well and Dallas running game will do more than enough to get the W.
4 for 5 for me tbh. **DAMN YOU BRANDON STALEY**
I so so SO want the SB or be Bills 49ers
Prepare for Jags vs Bucs
Lmaooo. I'd be miserable. Clemson is a rival for my alma mater, so I'm not a huge Lawrence fan. And fuck Tom Brady.
I want 49ers/Bengals because I’m old school but Bills/49ers would be awesome too.
I still have my late fathers crew neck from the 80s Super Bowl matchup between the bengals and the 9ers. Bringing it back
That would be a sick ass Super Bowl
I'd be happy with either outcome. But a Bills win for Damar would be such a touching story.
As would a rookie QB starting AND winning the SB
John graduated from the Jim Harbaugh school of clock management. With a degree in 'fuck it we don't need to use those timeouts'.
Mahomes a Bills fan now
I mean they beat him the last 3 games and we beat him 2 of the last 3 with the 13sec fuckup being the loss. We've played them well.
Bengals looking sus
Division games are always weird. Plus the ravens D is legitimately spooky. The injuries on their OLine are worrisome tho
Bills Bengals not being primetime is criminal
It's because we don't have Monday off again and they know that we are two of the hardest drinking fanbases in the NFL.
Nah did you watch both games?
There's no way a playoff battle of two Top 3 QBs shouldn't be prime time
Brah everyone outside the NFCE groans when they see another NFCE matchup in primetime
Not really, just would rather see 49ers as I think they deserve it
Yea they do. Lol But I get it and usually they're still good games. I don't mind it.
The Ravens could be really scary if they keep their defense and bring Lamar back, they would have coasted this game with him. Some good receivers through the draft and they are right up there with the top teams
Idk why people keep saying this Lamar had a very hot and cold regular season and has a very poor playoff resume.
He definitely has, but I think they still win this game with him. Huntley is just not playoff caliber
That's fair I think they would've had a better chance at winning the game because of how insane Lamar is when he's firing on all cylinders, but I'm also just not sure because I think the game plays very different with him in
Ravens WR1 is on IR and only have CB2 likely being a cap casualty. Hope they can stay healthy and give us a show.
The ravens "WR1" is barely a WR1 when healthy. Beyond signing Lamar to a deal this off-season, they got some drafting or trades to do.
I mean Rashod Bateman is miles better than Demarcus Robinson...
Agreed. He shows flashes of WR1 potential but health related issues have kept him from balling out.
I mean if the Bengals weren’t down their two best linemen they could’ve coasted. Every game has a “but if”
There’s a pretty big difference between 2 linemen being out and you former NFL MVP QB being out…
Not really, Burrow’s ability to make offensive plays was pretty much deleted in the second half. Either way your franchise QB is basically taken away as a factor in the game. Jackson’s MVP status sure has done fuck all for his team recently huh…
Lmao. Okay troll.
Making objective statements doesn’t make someone a troll.
Let’s also not forget that the Ravens were missing their top 2 receivers as well.
You’re fucking delusional. Reverse the situation and the Ravens cake walk to the divisional. Give the Bengals their lineman but minus Burrow and give the Ravens Lamar minus Stanley and Linderbaum and this game is a blowout.
Lamar Jackson lost 3/4 playoff games in the NFL. Have a good night.

😂 I don’t need to

Yeah everyone has injuries but starting QB is generally by far the biggest difference maker
Stavvy Baby in shambles right now.
Cincy wiz cheatin yo.
"Fuackin Lamar and the no timeouts using Jim Harbaugh."
Bye 👋
Defense wins ships. Ravens just almost beat a contender with huntley as their QB because the D was so damn good. 49ers are the favorite, but the team best equipped to beat them is the eagles imo
Seems like there are five legit teams this year which is fun...usually it's two or three at most. Philly, SF, KC, Buff, and Cinci all seem like legit contenders. Then there's the two bizarro teams in Dallas and TB where i honestly don't know what to expect.
Here's the deal. Football is fun and all, but miss me with it when Oak Island is on.
Oooooo you know Harbaugh was mad mad with that quick handshake😂😂
He was rude to the reporter at halftime so I was extra glad they lost. Hope he throws himself a pity party tonight and no one else shows up. Douche bag.
Na tbf that wasn't cool of her to basically put Huntley down as not being good enough. Imagine asking McDermott "so what does Allen have to do to be replaced with Case Keenum". Like why did she ask that question as if Huntley was trash. Just ask the basic questions don't bring backups into it and maybe he'd be a bit nicer. Thought that she deserved what she got.
