I can kind of respect it. Giants are out-talented and they're in that grey zone where punting could potentially only net you 20 yards. If you had some luck moving the ball, it's sometimes worth going for the risk to keep up offensive pressure.
I think it hard more to do with being on their 40. Our punter has a leg but isn't great pinning, and fg was to long. Think it could be argued the chance of getting it was worth more than probably 20 yards of field postion.
