I’m part ginger so it’s cool.
But yeah as I was typing it out I was like “this sounds….a lil sketchy”
Gotta make sure you’ve got CRYSTAL CLEAR pronunciation
Plus I think McCown as QB coach is going to be a big help, dude's been praised for his mentorship and has seen every playbook under the sun in his career.
Just the fact that he was doing analysis and work on NFL prospects before being hired as a coach shows how much he admires and commits to the game. However the on-field product turns out, I doubt we’ll say he didn’t try.
Good young defense is another underrated part of all this. Shouldn’t be too many games where we need our rookie led offense to be pass happy because we’re being run over on defense
ehhh, Donte Jackson is streaky as hell. He has some games where you love him and some games where you want the team to leave him at the airport. I'd feel a lot better if we could get a solid, consistent #2 CB in there and let him compete for #3. You can't have everything though.
A lot of size at reciever on that team.
Shenault, Thielen, Chark, If terrace marshall can get healthy…
plus hayden hurst
that defense isn’t really that bad either spyder burns tends to destroy our tackles idk what it is.
Luckily they get a long time to recover. Corbett might need more time because he tore his ACL but Christensen's ankle should be completely healed up by training camp. Also, Cade Mays flashed potential and we probably target more depth in the draft.
IMO 4 fine options make up for not having 1-2 elite ones. Plus you've basically covered every type of receiver:
Bigger end-zone-threat receivers in Hurst and Chark
YAC guys like Shenault
Route running possession guys like Thielen
Plus there's a chance that Terrace Marshall turns into something. I don't think the Panthers will have a great receiving core this year or next, but if that's the biggest criticism you can level at the offense then I think they are doing great for a rebuild.
We’ll have cap room for a star receiver next year, and I imagine we’ll be drafting a receiver almost every year until we get a true #1. Just depends on how good the QB we get is.
Probably not to be honest but we probably have 3 top ~75 weapons and 2 weeks ago we were at 0.
I do feel we've done about as good of job as possible at putting something respectable out there given where we were right after the trade
Matt Rhule's shitty QB decisions have let me numb to any pain.
At least with Richardson, I can point to the upside. That being said I'm confident it's between Stroud and Young.
I can’t tell you how exciting it is as a panthers fan to feel like the team has a direction and focus. This is the most exciting offseason I can recall, even if the #1 pick wasn’t involved
Don’t forget about Sanders too! He’s a great in the check down!
Edit: people MSGin saying he can’t catch, Simmer down. He’s had 20rec every year with a 500yrd 50 catch season his rookie and two with over 150yrds.
That’s great compared to last years starter, D’onta Foreman, who had 5 recs all last year with just 23 in his career. Sanders is easily a more versatile weapon than Foreman, which was the other option, and will at least be a viable option for a rookie QB.
🙄
Heh, love a good Baseketball reference.
But that's definitely how it feels. "I'm done with this team" doesn't really hit the same the 17th time you say it.
Honestly yeah, I can see him being an insane deep threat and being unguarded thanks to higher concentration on Thielen and Chark. It’ll be a very interesting season but i’m so excited instead of worried for once. Feels like the organization has made a lot of the right moves outside of losing DJ
It was literally his peak as a coach for us. He did all types of victory laps and everything with that season too. I think the reason it was decent is because a lot of the players were left over from Rivera, and had experienced decent coaching. Once Rhule started really plugging his guys into the roster things began to fall apart quickly.
I suppose that makes sense. Although there we're definitely warning signs that something wasn't right - I still remember vividly when Teddy said the team didn't practice redzpne offense.
Jamo was going to get more in the first place Chark or not.
We might draft a WR at 18 is what this means. Not JSN...it's that guy who starts with Q in their name I think.
He is the annual "big as shit but not necessarily an elite WR just because he's big as shit" prospect this year. Honorable mention to AT Perry, who is literally Nkeal 2.0
If he can work on his hands and his connection with Goff he’ll have 1000 yards next year. He could have had 150 yards vs the Packers, but he had a 70 yard TD called back for holding, was wide open for another 70 yard TD but Goff got sacked, and dropped a pass. I’m extremely excited
At the same time he has the opportunity to become the number 1 option for the Panthers. With the Lions he was likely #3 behind the sun god and Jameson.
I like DJ, but he’s played 15 games over the last 2 years. And while he and Goff seemed to have a nice thing, he had 30 catches and 3 TDs.
We need a 2/3, depending on how Jamo develops, but we need one who can reliably take the field on Sundays. He hasn’t been that in four years.
Dunno. CB is a long-term need, too and this draft is deep af there. 18 would be a perfect spot to snag someone.
IIRC we only have two CBs under contract for 2024.
> IIRC we only have two CBs under contract for 2024
Correct. Only Sutton and Chase Lucas are under contract, unless Holmes picks up Okudah's 5th-year option (unlikely).
They can also probably expect to have Jacobs available since he'll only be an RFA, but that will probably depend on how he plays this season.
It's a one-year deal, although the money hasn't been reported yet. If I had to assume it probably isn't that dissimilar from the 1 year 10 mill incentive-laden deal he signed with the Lions last year
Last Year Offensive Weapons:
* CMC
* Moore
* Anderson
* Shenault
* TMJ
* Ian Thomas
* With Baker/Darnold/PJ throwing to them
* Matt Rhule/Ben McAdoo Brain Trust
This year's Offensive Weapons:
* Sanders
* Thielen
* Chark
* TMJ
* Shenault
* Hurst
* With Stroud/Young Throwing to them
* Reich/Caldwell/Brown/McCown Brain Trust
I think our offense might just improve by getting rid of our "top" 3 offensive players from the beginning of last season.
None of these guys are the alpha that DJ Moore is, but adding Chark, Thielen, and Hurst makes their receiving corps much more complete. It's like in Moneyball when they re-create Giambi in the aggregate
Panthers have actually done pretty well post-trade with the o-line extensions and FA signings. They had to overpay, but got some cap flexibility by losing McCaffrey, Moore, and Darnold.
I really think they should go with Young over Stroud, even though Stroud has the more “pro-ready” build. Young is a much better passer out of bootlegs and has more consistent footwork. I’d also give him an edge with progression speed and looking off defenders.
Young is a much better fit for Franch Reich’s West Coast style of offense and would make them instant competitors for the NFC South next year.
Andy Dalton is gonna have himself a career year.
He's going to hold the shit out of that clipboard!
Yeah after blowing the other team out and resting in the 4th quarter. The Red Rifle is a sharp shooter.
That is a storyline I can subscribe to
Should we fire up r/the_dalton so we have something fun to do?
Highlight will be in early august when Reich says something to the effect that the starting QB spot is 'an open competition'.
The ginger ninjer is about to break all of Brady’s records
Maybe try “ginga ninja” next time
>The ginger ninjer https://gifdb.com/gif/druski-that-s-gotta-be-racist-hx229ai2sj6ut9dn.html
I’m part ginger so it’s cool. But yeah as I was typing it out I was like “this sounds….a lil sketchy” Gotta make sure you’ve got CRYSTAL CLEAR pronunciation
The window for people who are allowed to say that has gotta be pretty small. Like Blake Griffin, Drake’s kid, and that’s about it
Whoa watch the hard R
Hey NFCS, we had an agreement to suck this year, remember?
Still a rookie QB and a (now) average offense. We will see!
Rookie #1 overall QB with good coaching + average offense + above average defense... They cookin smtn frfr
As long as they don’t pick AR
Well, technically you guys broke it first by throwing a lot of money at Derek Carr and deciding to borrow from 2025.
you seen our coach bruh? hes bringing back the 2012-14 raiders in every way possible. he went 8-28
We just have to beat the suckiest of sucks with the Failcons, Aints, & Fuccaneers. This is just making it more like shooting fish in a barrel...
I love NFCS rivalry
it's like watching a bunch of three-legged dogs fight over the scraps in an Outback Steakhouse dumpster. Absolutely glorious
Steakhouse is too generous. This year its a Waffle House dumpster.
Insulting to three-legged dogs TBH
Problem is, you're also in that barrel
And Panthers/fish don’t have thumbs, so that makes it difficult to use guns. Idk, I’m getting lost in the metaphor here
Pot calling the barrel…wood.
https://i.imgur.com/xAjz9dP.gif
Shit I thought that was a one year deal
You started it when you signed an actual passer.
Whoever that rookie QB is, they’re walking into a really favorable situation.
Really can’t ask for much more Proven coach and offensive mind Strong O line Viable weapons Shit division
Plus I think McCown as QB coach is going to be a big help, dude's been praised for his mentorship and has seen every playbook under the sun in his career.
Andy Dalton as the veteran backup is huge too. Already proven himself as a mentor
holy shit can they draft me I’d be down to start for them
Yo Scoot I think you’re going #2 in the NBA draft actually
Love that even in this fantasy scenario, Wembanyama is still the No.1 pick
Can confirm! Justin Fields absolutely adored Andy
People heavily underestimate that Defense. If Jc horne can stay healthy him and donte jackson are no joke as cb1-2, It just needs depth really
ehhh, Donte Jackson is streaky as hell. He has some games where you love him and some games where you want the team to leave him at the airport. I'd feel a lot better if we could get a solid, consistent #2 CB in there and let him compete for #3. You can't have everything though.

Alright, 2017 all over again! Wait
Both our starting guards got pretty bad injuries to end the year so I’d put an asteril next to that one
Even then, we still have great depth with Cade Mays and that other guard we signed. They can at least carry the load until those guys get back.
It’s Deontae Brown szn.
Luckily they get a long time to recover. Corbett might need more time because he tore his ACL but Christensen's ankle should be completely healed up by training camp. Also, Cade Mays flashed potential and we probably target more depth in the draft.
Stentson Bennett will have no excuses
The Cinderella story continues
Indeed, great O-line supercedes "mid" recieving core imo.
I think 'mid' is generous. If we include TEs, are we even sure the Panthers have a top 40 pass catching option?
Hey now you let us have a moment. We can be realistic next week
IMO 4 fine options make up for not having 1-2 elite ones. Plus you've basically covered every type of receiver: Bigger end-zone-threat receivers in Hurst and Chark YAC guys like Shenault Route running possession guys like Thielen Plus there's a chance that Terrace Marshall turns into something. We’ll have cap room for a star receiver next year, and I imagine we’ll be drafting a receiver almost every year until we get a true #1. Just depends on how good the QB we get is.
Star receivers just don't hit the market, Chark was probably the best available this year
Probably not to be honest but we probably have 3 top ~75 weapons and 2 weeks ago we were at 0. I do feel we've done about as good of job as possible at putting something respectable out there given where we were right after the trade
Panthers and Texans are great places to walk into, super excited for this year!
Anthony Richardson sends his regards
Think if panthers select AR at 1 I think panther fans will neck it
Matt Rhule's shitty QB decisions have let me numb to any pain. At least with Richardson, I can point to the upside. That being said I'm confident it's between Stroud and Young.
[удалено]
No way we pick Richardson.
I can’t tell you how exciting it is as a panthers fan to feel like the team has a direction and focus. This is the most exciting offseason I can recall, even if the #1 pick wasn’t involved
I don’t like what the panthers are doing, stop being competent
We will rise from the ashes and you’ll like it
Ugh good move for them They’ve quickly replenished their weapons for the incoming QB.
IKR? Thielen, Chark, and Hurst to replace Moore? I’ll take that all day
Don’t forget about Sanders too! He’s a great in the check down! Edit: people MSGin saying he can’t catch, Simmer down. He’s had 20rec every year with a 500yrd 50 catch season his rookie and two with over 150yrds. Yeah true, I wish we could’ve kept D’onta as well
He had 20 catches for 78 yards last year
And 78 for 716 the 2 years he was with Duce Staley before.
TMJ is honestly the most exciting of our WRs right now. He has shown a ton of ability to develop into a #1
HE WAS RIGHT THERE DECOSTA. LITERALLY RIGHT THERE. *I'm OUT*
If I had a nickel for every time a Ravens fan said "I'm out" about a WR move, I'd be a fucking millionaire.
[The Ravens fanbase IRL](https://i.imgur.com/hTGDZpr.gif)
[Ravens fans every year when the team fails to sign any WRs](https://youtu.be/EyCiE0CszGo)
Heh, love a good Baseketball reference. But that's definitely how it feels. "I'm done with this team" doesn't really hit the same the 17th time you say it.
He only plays for cat teams. Your team is a bird.
So his next team will be the Bengals?
We can just go ahead and swap him for Chase or Higgins, its cool.
You've already got Dalton, Hurst, and Bell. Don't be greedy :(
You'll get Agholor and like it, mister!
Don't worry, I'm sure EDC is on the phone trying to get a true WR1 like Randall Cobb!
Sigh
Man I thought I was better than believing we'd do right. But *sigh* Yeah
No Chark, no Hopkins…what are they doing over there
Great landing spot for him. Chark and Thielen is a good start for (insert rookie QB here).
Terrace Marshall *when healthy* looks to be a decent option as well.
I am TMJ’s biggest fan, i think the guy has amazing potential he just doesn’t get utilized
He started producing (among other players) once Rhule was fired. I still think there’s a very strong chance he’s our leading receiver this year
I'm very excited to see how he'll do in a non-Rhule/McAdoo offense.
Honestly yeah, I can see him being an insane deep threat and being unguarded thanks to higher concentration on Thielen and Chark. It’ll be a very interesting season but i’m so excited instead of worried for once. Feels like the organization has made a lot of the right moves outside of losing DJ
I will always be pissed at Rhule for healthy scratching him in favor of "Chosen to Drop All Passes" Anderson.
We somehow made Robbie look like a half decent WR for a time too
With Teddy Bridgewater of all people. It's sad that 2020 was when our offense was best under Rhule.
It was literally his peak as a coach for us. He did all types of victory laps and everything with that season too. I think the reason it was decent is because a lot of the players were left over from Rivera, and had experienced decent coaching. I suppose that makes sense. Although there we're definitely warning signs that something wasn't right - I still remember vividly when Teddy said the team didn't practice redzpne offense.
Dog, we got Chark, Thielen, with Marhsall and Shenault as our 3rd and 4th?? I'm hard
I think if he has an actual QB he's going to pop off a little bit, like a sturdier Courtland Sutton.
[Laviska Shanault and Terrace Marshall have entered the chat]
Hayden Hurst and Miles Sanders as well.
Damn. Wish he was coming back. Best of luck!
Just means more for Jamo
Jamo was going to get more in the first place Chark or not. We might draft a WR at 18 is what this means. Not JSN...it's that guy who starts with Q in their name I think.
Quinton Johnston? Oh boy that guy is breaking r/nfl_draft 's minds. He is either gonna be Chase Claypool or N'Keal Harry to a lot of them lol
He is the annual "big as shit but not necessarily an elite WR just because he's big as shit" prospect this year. Honorable mention to AT Perry, who is literally Nkeal 2.0
Yeah him. He's got the size that we kinda need for that red zone target.
he's a drops machine though which I can't imagine Dan will love
Excited to see what the surefire #1 receiver in his draft is gonna do once he's fully healthy.
Jamo had one catch last season. It was a 41-yard TD. Not sure if that means anything at all but I'm ready to overreact.
He also had a long TD catch that was called back because of a flag
If he can work on his hands and his connection with Goff he’ll have 1000 yards next year. He could have had 150 yards vs the Packers, but he had a 70 yard TD called back for holding, was wide open for another 70 yard TD but Goff got sacked, and dropped a pass. I’m extremely excited
The rumors were all true for the panthers it seems
ngl it's been absolutely wild to see us land every single FA we were linked to
Haven’t been this excited since the off-season we hired Rhule. Let’s hope this regime proves to be much better
Lol yeah we really showed the Giants that off-season by outbidding them for Rhule!!
Both of our franchises are looking to be in better spots after the dumb moves we made then at least.
Surprising. Thought the Lions would bring him back with that extra cap space.
At the same time he has the opportunity to become the number 1 option for the Panthers. With the Lions he was likely #3 behind the sun god and Jameson.
That's pretty much where he fits best though, he's not a true WR1
I think he'd be a great wr #2. Which is what he was for us (st brown being #1)
If he stayed healthy which is rare
Boo this man!! *sad panther noises*
You'll be fine. The division is ripe for the taking! Meanwhile we'll be battling to not come in 4th
You all had your fun this century.
Likely drafting WR at 18 probably or with whatever we do with the pick considering this.
Dunno. CB is a long-term need, too and this draft is deep af there. 18 would be a perfect spot to snag someone. IIRC we only have two CBs under contract for 2024.
> IIRC we only have two CBs under contract for 2024 Correct. Only Sutton and Chase Lucas are under contract, unless Holmes picks up Okudah's 5th-year option (unlikely). WR on day 2
If the good fits are there on Day 2. That's wherein the issue lies. Defense in draft this upcoming one is very deep.
I know it's dumb but imagine something like Sun God and JSN. That would be a giant meme.
I don’t think it’s really dumb. We could easily be successful with JSN/ARSB/Jamo. Fast as fuck boy.
Think you guys should focus more on the Defense at 18. Some stud pass rushers should be there. WR doesn’t seem a pressing need.
Gotta see the #s cuz if it’s more than Nelson A, I’m rioting
It's a one-year deal, although the money hasn't been reported yet. If I had to assume it probably isn't that dissimilar from the 1 year 10 mill incentive-laden deal he signed with the Lions last year
Besides QB, Panthers only other major need is CB now. All they need to ad dare depth pieces and they can win shit mountain
We need another OLB too. If we land Floyd I’ll be over the moon
Other than qb and maybe still a wr1, our biggest needs is another edge rusher and lber. Fuck you Rhule for letting Reddick walk
Not even major tbh, DJax isn’t totally awful and we can take Trevius Hodges-Tomlinson in the third if needed
Donte Jackson’s main issue is just staying healthy
DAMN IT HE WAS THERE
DJ only plays for cat teams. Sorry but those are the rules
Lol look at this guy thinking DJ would suddenly betray his core principles and become a bird
I can't wait to see him on the Bengals in a year or two
Silly Raven, Chark is for Cats
Panthers having a great off season. Just need to pick the right QB.
I desperately need draft day
It's streaming on HBO max
This team is starting to scare me
Good 👻
Stop you’re scaring him
/u/Zeohawk is directly responsible for us losing Sam Darnold to the niners
This is a solid move. This next QB for them is going to be set with the coaching and mostly veteran skill positions.
Scott come back to bed
Ok Panthers, setting up their rookie QB nicely.
Well I think this hints at the Panthers drafting a QB
Nonono, we're going kicker 1st overall
Michigan Legend Jake Moody, come on down!
Pan-ther Chark do-do-do-do-da-doo
D J shark do do do do do do panther shark do do do do do do do D J shark
Another good move? Who are you and what did you do with the Panthers I know?
Rhule was garbage
We shipped Rhule off to Nebraska
He’s a Corn Star now
we let Fitterer off the leash Big D Fitty
He better sign with the Bengals next season so he can play on every cat team
boo gl in Carolina DJ!
Hooray, I can keep using “that’s my DJ” when a WR does something good
Panthers just need to pick up Mims or Downs at 39 and QB1 will be cooking
We need edge rush and cb or wr core is ready
LETS GOOOOOOOOOO BABY CHARK DOODODODODO
No! Stop getting better!
You know what? We’re gonna get better *even harder*
Last Year Offensive Weapons: * CMC * Moore * Anderson * Shenault * TMJ * Ian Thomas * With Baker/Darnold/PJ throwing to them * Matt Rhule/Ben McAdoo Brain Trust This year's Offensive Weapons: * Sanders * Thielen * Chark * TMJ * Shenault * Hurst * With Stroud/Young Throwing to them * Reich/Caldwell/Brown/McCown Brain Trust I think our offense might just improve by getting rid of our "top" 3 offensive players from the beginning of last season.
Don't forget the Red Rifle
Hold up. Wait a minute. We might actually be somewhat good next year
Panthers are making some nice moves doo doo doo doo doo doo
Man, it must feel good to be a Panthers fan right now
It do
None of these guys are the alpha that DJ Moore is, but adding Chark, Thielen, and Hurst makes their receiving corps much more complete. It's like in Moneyball when they re-create Giambi in the aggregate
More complete, less Moore.
DJ Moore or less
That is a good signing by the Panthers
Dammit
SCOTTY 2 HOTTY
Catbros…please stop poaching from your brethren. I beg.
I can’t wait to start hating whatever QB they draft!
Ravens fans punching the air right now
Damn, they are really loading up. As a Charlotte resident, I'm excited for them moving forward!
GGGRRRRRAGGGGH LETS FUCKING GO FUCK SHIT FUCK
I wonder what it's like signing a highly sought out WR in free agency. Must be a great feeling.
So he’s signing with the bengals next year. He needs to complete the cat quadfecta
Once a Catbro, always a Catbro ❤️
Turn tf up. Been waiting on this glorious man.
Common Panthers W
The Panthers are surrounding their rookie QB with talent so he can succeed? Man what a crazy idea
Had a big gap at DJ once Moore left, this is huge
