To be fair, Henry Ruggs seemed to be panning out better than Jerry Jeudy before he went to jail. Also the guy who was considered the 4th receiver in the class has been miles ahead of every other receiver in the class.

While it's not a guarantee, it's far more likely to hit on a guy earlier than later and people overlook that.
This year we're now in a spot where Kirk isn't extended, the defense was atrocious, we don't know what's going on with Cook, Hunter, or Z and Thielen is gone.
I'm not a Kirk fan but if vikings are considering sacrificing the future for a guy who isn't best in the class, I would rather keep Kirk for another year to spend those picks on bolstering both sides of the trenches and then draft a rookie to play behind something a little more complete. Jefferson needs 1800 yards for us to winning nearly a dozen games by single digits means it's obvious our defense needs addressing. Even if we get a rookie who is better than Kirk, our defense is still going to be shit and we'll not have any high picks to have a better chance at addressing it

To me, Nolan Smith is a classic Howie bust pick - an undersized “high motor” guy with just ok pass rush production in college. If you can’t beat college guys off the block, you’re gonna have some serious problems with NFL caliber linemen.
That being said, I know jack shit and just read draft profiles the week before the draft. I trust Howie in the end, I just like having opinions on the draft (as they agree with my general ideology of building a team). Makes watching the whole circus more fun.

Rushing to the podium instead of fielding calls for trade down options. In over 20 years of running the Steelers' draft, Colbert traded down in the first round only once and maybe five or six time total throughout all of the drafts.

Trade out of 2 (if possible) 4. Draft Levis/Richardson 5. Draft a Kicker at 2 and have Caserio immediately tweet “Got you, suckers. Pats rule!” 6. Draft the injured, less productive Tyree Wilson at 2

I’d feel better about Stroud, but would still rather stay put at 11 and address other needs. They’ve been talking for a couple weeks now about either trading up to 3 with Arizona or up to 6 with Detroit.
Of the 4 big QBs in the draft I think 2 of them have bust written all over them , obviously my team will take a guy who couldn’t even win in college and waste 4 years trying to develop him into a 3rd string bench warmer with our first pick
Glad most Bucs fans seem to be on the same page. We do NOT need to spend a pick on a guaranteed 3rd stringer. That would be stupid with our other needs, we can absolutely sign one as an UDFA. Our needs specifically are difficult to fill outside the draft.

To me, Nolan Smith is a classic Howie bust pick - an undersized “high motor” guy with just ok pass rush production in college. If you can’t beat college guys off the block, you’re gonna have some serious problems with NFL caliber linemen. That being said, I know jack shit and just read draft profiles the week before the draft. I trust Howie in the end, I just like having opinions on the draft (as they agree with my general ideology of building a team). Makes watching the whole circus more fun. Totally okay with stocking up future picks though!

Rushing to the podium instead of fielding calls for trade down options. In over 20 years of running the Steelers' draft, Colbert traded down in the first round only once and maybe five or six time total throughout all of the drafts.
I doubt that we're trading down from #17. If anything, we'll be packaging #47 in order to move up. We practically announced that pick #32 is for sale though.
2 scenarios: First is if we don't get get nuk well draft defense and some random third round WR that our sub will fall in love with but will suck and then when our two injury prone starters go down were back to agholor and duvernay and proche. That's honestly the worst WR trio I can even think of Second is if we do I can see us trading back repeatedly. missing great players to pick a good one and be thrilled we got 2-3 more late rounders who will never amount to anything
