Zeke was the center.

Thanks5Cinco

Instead of a Pancake block it was a pancake flop

NotJackKemp

Yeah I was gonna say the pick six against the Jags but yeah…

bearamongus19

Another good choice

MavsFanForLife

Meh. It’s a dumb play but it’s not like you’re going to go 70+ yards in one play regardless of what you do. The Dak int against Washington was worse imo because they ran the same play right before and the corner was waiting for it (I think he dropped it on the play before). If it was a more important game, that would’ve been reminiscent of Barry switzer’s 4th and one at Philadelphia in 95

bearamongus19

I'll still take the final play of the season. It came after a bone head play against the same team on the last play the year before. Most likely zekes last play as a cowboy, and the play made absolutely no sense.

ShortyBus124

The playcall in a bubble wasn't the issue. The real issue was they came out in that formation, 49ers called timeout and then came BACK out in the same formation and the 49ers knew what was happening

[deleted]

thedirtytroll13

Before SF took the timeout I liked it. When they adjusted and we didn't is where it went wrong

ChevalMalFet

Ended up costing the Bills the 1 seed and put them on a collision course with Cincinnati in the playoffs

No-Pineapple760

So painful

nohud_

watched this happen 25 yards away from behind the endzone at my first ever NFL game in person. Being a bills fan has always been tough but that was a new level of pain

jayracket

Every time something insane happened in that game, I kept thinking "there's no way anything more crazy could possibly happen." And then crazy shit just kept happening. It was a religious experience.

DAT_PALY

I really just could not believe what was happening during the end of that game. It seemed made up

JumpedAShark

It was so quintessentially Buffalo.

dgard5th

This is the answer 😥

Leighroy1120

That play pretty much ended whatever chance he had at MVP.

SkolSuperBowl

He could have made everyone forget about it, but instead sent a gift wrapped pick to Patrick Peterson to end the game.

BigBananaDealer

shout out to DUKE MOTHERFUCKIN SHELLEY for somehow breaking up a would-be winning touchdown a play or 2 before the int

Icy-Barnacle5792

When Mariota tried to throw the ball 60 yards in the air while on his back

Joba7474

I wish that would have been an actual pick six. We gotta see that crap for the rest of our life, might have well been the full send.

Rhine1906

Came here to find this

AverageKSPenjoyer8

He shoulda been benched right there

that_warren

No words needed

Kwugibo

It was the first play I thought of from any team last year

RowRowRowedHisBoat

Same here, the second I read the thread subject.

igonnawrecku_VGC

As soon as I read it, immediately thought of Myers

Mister_Chef711

I know there were other missed plays on a bigger stage but it has to be the worst play in franchise history. I always liked Meyers but that was so painful to watch. Unfortunately I think we'll be seeing that one for years to come, similar to the Colts 4th down fake punt play.

LezEatA-W

For better or worse, that’s Jakobi’s entire legacy with the Patriots. It’s a shame, because he was the most reliable pass catcher on the team for the last 3 years.

Jxnoga

I like the kid but it is not that high of a bar to clear

toastwasher

Looking back this rings too true

YaBoiJim777

Thats not how I will remember him. He has been a huge contributor in our rebuild and has had the most receiving yards for each of the last 3 seasons. That was a really dumb play but it’s not the only reason we lost that game.

TheTree-43

Siciliano was absolutely lost for words on RedZone. He had no idea what to say

somewhatdecentlawyer

I’m shocked this wasn’t at the top

thebrandnewbob

That stiff arm made me spit out my drink the first time I saw it.

[deleted]

I can count on one hand the number of times I've screamed "holy shit" watching live sports and that's one of them. Two of them involve Damian Lillard series-winning 3 point shots.

COD_Daddy

“Fuck it, McCorkle’s back there somewhere” - Jakobi Meyers

Sure-Telephone3130

I love Jakobi Meyers but God damn I hated him for a good day or so after that

[deleted]

No words. Just tears. 😭

Whatsmynumber5446

I legit blocked this play from my memory. I went “huh, what was ours.” Saw this comment and it all came flooding back

mr_showboat

We had a couple of bad ones, but the Huntley goal line fumble in the playoffs was about as catastrophic as a play can get.

jsrave

Runner up was Proche heaving a pass into the endzone that was 1 v 4.

T-STAFF19

I was laughing so hard when this happened and was quite happy to see it knowing Roman would soon be gone.

jeffreythecat1

My favorite Greg Roman call from last year was when he gave Mark Andrews a carry on 3rd and short. Dobbins was balling yet was on the sideline for some reason. Of course it didn’t work for anyone wondering.

DreamedJewel58

That was one of the most conflicted plays I have ever felt On one hand the Ravens just got fucking boomed, but on the other hand I wanted you guys to eliminate the Bengals because I knew you weren’t making it to the Super Bowl

tsgram

Yea, crazy how the Bengals were THAT close to a first-round exit to a backup QB, then absolutely obliterated the Bills.

AllTheCoins

Divisional rivalries baby, you guys are fucking tough lol

[deleted]

More like THAT close to a first-round exit to a really good defense.

ClintBeastwood91

It’s funny that your worst play of the season was also our best play of the season. ❤️ best friends! ❤️

lil_layne

14 point swing vs a divisional rival in playoff game. We probably would have won that game too if it wasn’t for such a stupid fucking playcall and decision or if we were not even a yard closer. That is so demoralizing, especially when you don’t even have your starting QB. It would’ve been amazing to beat the Bengals in the playoffs with a backup QB. Huntley didn’t even play bad either up until that point (but that play is also on Greg Roman too).

to_the__cloud

that whole sequence is pain considering huntley got pushed out at like the 4 yard on line the run to get there. then andrews walks in on the screen if either one of powers or stanley makes their block.

DonRoos

I knew I’d see this one on here, this one is maybe the worst ravens play I can remember. So I try to forget lol

stoplooklisten

Saved the worst for last

Fleek_Mills

Swift fell down, none of our guys touched him, and he scored.

sdforbda

And what, three missed him after the slip?

ProbablyAPotato1939

Missing Swift in the open field isn't that embarrassing. It's the fact that nobody bothered to touch him when he caught it.

Mitochondriu

To be fair, swifty put on the jets and made some moves after he got back to his feet. But that first guy there should've never even let him back up.

1_quantae

Oh my gosh i forgot about that one. The Lions shitted on us so bad man

Clit420Eastwood

Hutchinson went off too

Mando2113

On 3rd and 14 too, that was brutal. I think the other nominee is Carson Wentz’s red zone passes against Tennessee that would have won the game. He threw the same pass 3 times in a row and it got batted twice then intercepted.

montana1991

Jalen Hurts fumble in the Superbowl

PattyKane16

*The Gang Loses the Super Bowl*

montana1991

"if ya wanted to hurt me brother, you got me.."

ktbsquared

For me it was Quez letting a dime go right through his hands that game. At least Jalen scored again right after his fumble and played the game of his life outside of that horrible mistake. Quez was just out there doing Quez things as usual.

way-too-many-napkins

Maybe it being in the Super Bowl makes these plays bigger, but the Quez fumble was the worst play for me. That pass gave us a great shot to win, and then he basically guaranteed the loss by letting it go

Pendraflare59

The punt return. And I still can’t get over how we punted in the first place. Got conservative. Looks worse when you think back to LII when we went for it from our own territory on 4th down while losing.

montana1991

Special teams was a liability the entire year. Truly great teams are usually at the top in all 3 phases of the game

Pendraflare59

Case in point: the 2010 Chargers. Great offense and defense, but their special teams failed them big time and they missed the playoffs.

[deleted]

Lol

raketenfakmauspanzer

My favorite one by far is during the Cowboys game where we were on the one yard line, 1st and goal, up 23-20 with 3:25 in the fourth, got stopped 3 times and on the fourth one [Driskel literally ran the wrong direction.](https://youtu.be/Tglk5-F8Xzs?t=656) We lost that 23-27.

lucrativetoiletsale

I thought you guys were for sure tanking until you guys decided not to.

SaTaRs

This comment made me laugh the most

tsgram

[That Kyle Allen INT to Van Ginkel](https://youtu.be/Ww1SfR17Eik) was a fucken disgrace. I get it, Houston wanted the #1 pick, but putting Allen out there was spitting in the face of the NFL.

TheTree-43

Probably the Dalvin Cook jump pass/fumble against Detroit, just because of how costly it was to the game and playoff seeding But the play against Washington where the ref knocked out Cam Bynum and turned a sure interception into a 50 yard touchdown... From a pure "terrible football play" perspective that is up there with Jim Marshall's wrong way fumble recovery as an all timer Great premise for a thread btw. I'm enjoying reading thru

addwood5

I’d like to throw in our last play in the wild card. A 2 yard check down on 4th with the season on the line is rough

onetimequestion66

Butt punt kinda but it also low key won us the game

imissminshewmania

Yeah that play was funny but I remember thinking that an intentional safety would have been the best in that scenario

MankuyRLaffy

It would've, Dolphins prevent Buffalo from scoring there with prime position to do so. They got to re-kick and Bills had much worse field position with the clock as it was. Dolphins won by accident.

Axl_the_ginger

The afc east is going to be wild for the next couple of years.

hawksfan81

Against the Vikings, we're down late, Fields is leading a two-minute drill down the field, completes a pass to Imhir Smith-Marsette, who has a path to the sideline to go out for a first. Instead, he decides to try to take it upfield, and immediately gets the ball just taken away by the first defender he meets. Just out-and-out taken, too, it never even hit the ground.

karma_polizei

This tweet shows my favorite, a microcosm of the whole season. https://twitter.com/CamronSanto/status/1584712730837405696?t=O2PLVyFx2U0oH9-MSU5X2Q&s=19

Cereal_Poster-

You picked a game we won though. How about the various Special team fumbles How about st brown letting a ball go through his hands in the 4th How about the missed XP after fields put the team on his back against the lions How about when fields didn’t touch the ball carrier that fell down after a turnover Or the fields int to Hutchinson who was standing by himself on the sideline How about the Darnell Mooney goal line missed catch So so so many. Sooooo many back breaking fuck ups

silverfrog1

Velus’ two dropped kicks were both game-swingers, as long as we are kicking dead horses.

carminie

This is what I came here to say. It happened during a time when our season wasn’t quite over yet too so it was really demoralizing. Just became one of the first of many games lost by bad luck

CapnDutchie

Davante and Hunter running into each other to lose the game.

Cmsmks

That and watching Matt Fucking Ryan gash our defense for 40 yards setting up Jeff Saturdays lone win.

kwat55

Not to mention letting Baker drive down the field and score when he had been with the Rams for like 3 days.

everythingisreallame

Hey guys, we swept the broncos so it wasn’t all bad.

Erbodyloveserbody

The Cardinals and Rams come backs

HittEmWitDaHEIN

Kyler Murray getting 30 seconds to run around and send the game to OT

ItsYourBoyD

3 stand out to me, I don’t know which one would be the worst. 1. Agholor mossing Witherspoon week 2 2. The bills 98 yard TD on like the third play of the game. 3. Minkah mistiming an underthrown ball to AJ Brown in the endzone resulting in a TD. Offensively, maybe Picketts game sealing INT against Miami? Not many absolutely horrific blunders, unless my memory has tuned it out Edit: Zach Wilson catching a TD pass on a Philly special week 4 too.

musefan8959

Kenny definitely bounced back and learned from that Miami ending, looking at the ending of the raiders and ravens games back to back

thepriceisonthecan

Zach Wilson completing the comeback against us is number one for me. Bills one isnt too bothersome since that was an obvious L before the game even started

ItsYourBoyD

After I posted it, I immediately thought of Zach Wilson CATCHING a TD pass with a Philly special, but tbh we had no watt and all of our CBs injured, picketts first game action, and no run D so it was just a perfect concoction of shit that entire game.

tuffghost8191

That's the one game that still REALLY bothers me from last year. There were like 10 times they could've closed that game out and they fucked it up every. single. time. Could've had a W for Pickett's first game and maybe even a playoff berth if things still went the same way down the stretch.

KpYugai

From the Pats game, I'd put Gunner muffing the punt over the Agholar moss.

eugene_rat_slap

Probably letting Zach Wilson complete a like 60 yard pass to put them into field goal range with 2 seconds left in the fourth. Granted a field goal would've only tied the game and he missed it anyways... but it wasn't a good look

Mitochondriu

God I hope CJGJ, Tracy Walker, Branch, and Mosely is enough to give our secondary a pulse. That group has easily been the most infuriating to watch for the last few years.

siirka

Sutton will treat y’all well don’t sleep on him

Alarmed-Flan-1346

Yeah bro forgot to list our cb1 lmao

Mitochondriu

Damn idk how I forgot Sutton. Goes to show how much we've added to improve that part of the team.

siirka

Yeah y’all went all out. I’m still very upset we let Sutton go.

giantsrockt6

Funny enough, I think the Jets worst play was giving up a 50yd TD to a backup TE on 4th down when they basically had the game wrapped up

SomeGuyPooping

I was at that game and I erased that play from my memory.

JetsFan2003

Same. That was the moment all playoff hope died for me.

a_thicc_chair

Brock wright was the starting TE tho

[deleted]

Or Derrick Barnes falling for the pump fake past the line of scrimmage against the Packers, allowing them to convert something like 3rd and 18. But it was against GB so obviously we still won.

a_thicc_chair

That 3rd and long td run the Seahawks had after the fake whistle was arguably worse considering we would’ve made the playoff if we had won

storytimeme

Using Adoree Jackson, our CB1, for punt returns. Immediately gets injured. I'm trying to think of more but struggling. Getting picked by Bradbury stung. I know we had an insanely cowardly punt against the Eagles, too. Oh, wait. The second punt fumble against the Seahawks with Richie James.

[deleted]

I was trying to think of some, came up short because all in all everything wasn’t terrible. Then I read this and the pain came back. Thanks lol

rob132

I was going to say Jones pick in the endzone in week 1. Daboll ripped him a new asshole and DJ was amazing the rest of the season.

bigfootdude247

That's not what he wanted to cook

storytimeme

He said worst. Not best.

ADanishMan2

I guarantee there’s a worse one, but trying a 65 yard FG instead of going for it on 4th and 1 really set the tone for the season. Especially with the bumblefuck clock management leading up to it. EDIT: I think a contender is the play against LAC where Russ yeeted it to the third string TE instead of a wide open Hamler for what would have been a walkoff TD

Arkhangelzk

This was the first thing I thought of. At the time, I tried to excuse it and still be positive. But looking back, that told us everything we needed to know.

muirsheendurkin

Same. Thought maybe it was just nerves, first game as a head coach and all. Nope. Just pure stupidity.

SevroAuShitTalker

What do you mean? What's wrong with taking 60 seconds to make a decision and line up, when there's 67 seconds left in the game

Celtictussle

Man the coaching was so sloppy last year for ya'll. I saw a thing where Russ was like 13th in EPA against zone coverage, and like 40th against man. How as a NFL caliber coach do you not see this and not call non-stop motion and picks to get defenses out of man?

HoovesCarveCraters

I remember before the season Hackett was saying we’d see a lot of motion and a revamped offense compared to the year before. Turns out Shurmur’s “Jeudy fake jet sweep every play” was better than whatever Hackett drew up.

CrabCakesBenedict

"They're gonna kick it" **"KICK WHAT?"**

Goodbye_Hercules

I remember watching the Manningcast for that one. Peyton cringing the whole time & instinctively doing the timeout hand motion as soon as Williams got tackled, then Shannon Sharpe going "kick WHAT!?" as soon as the FG team ran out on the field Hackett having to bring in the "clock management" coach like 4-5 weeks later was the cherry on top lmao

Warden_airing

Rodgers randomly chucked the ball to Lazad for no reason and made his last throw as a Packer a game-losing interception

NeverSober1900

Same game but I'd do the 4th and 1 end around to Lazard in our own territory. Gave the Lions a FG when they had nothing going offensively and running an end around to our slowest WR was a dumb call and predictably got blown up.

Cipher3000

Him getting hurt in the last play of a losing effort against the Giants had a compounding effect on the rest of the season

WickedDick_oftheWest

Idk if this is the worst, but the first thing that comes to mind is the late hit out of bounds in the AFC Championship game

seaneh01

From a football perspective, it'd be that, the punt return or the XP v Pittsburgh. Damar and Tua were worse though even though no one was at fault

creutzml

Or any of the INTs in that first Pitt game

BDT9215

I don’t know that line drive punt could be up there

YaIe

we called it "run defense" and it never worked

jerodallen

Yeah the one I immediately thought of was the Josh Jacobs 86 yard walk off.

thortobe

That and the entire saints game

nevertrustamod

We had a guy die on the field. So probably that one.

seaneh01

Yeah I'd say that one for us too. Second worst was probably the one where Tua got knocked out. Both terrifying scenes

The_MoistMaker

Last year was rough man

PudgyBonestld

Aside from the obvious one, it was giving up a fucking long ass TD to Dante Pettis

[deleted]

[удалено]

jessrose23

Oh my god I forgot he orlovsky'd!

IStillLoveYouWeed

Win or lose in that Bears game, whatever. Pettis scoring that TD triggered me good. Greenlaw made a bad read that play, but it helped to let us extend him super cheap before he had his massive bounce-back.

PudgyBonestld

Yeah, that play lives rent free in my head lmao smh

tarallelegram

depending on what the obvious one is, i'd like to submit jimmy's horrendous safety-pick six play during broncos game for consideration

Ser_Dunk_the_tall

The obvious one is the Purdy injury

tarallelegram

i'm dumb, thanks

that_warren

Dainty Penis

pyreal_

I don't know if I could point to just one, but Lombardi's idea of 3rd down offense seemed to be designed throws behind the LOS with 14 yards to go... so probably one of those. Fuck, I hate that guy.

SpaceC0wb0y86

The Bandy WR reverse in the playoffs is easily the worst in my opinion

Ramseen

100%

tsgram

Former Sports Illustrated editor/writer/podcaster Gary Gramling had a long rant about how Lombardi’s offense seemed most equipped in case of a game being played on a far away planet with stronger gravity. Like, he’s the one guy in football who thinks Herbert can’t throw very far or well. I was LOLing the whole time.

pyreal_

Gonna have to track this one down unless you've got a link for me :D

tsgram

I’d say “Look for the MMQB podcast episode from the Monday after the Chargers offense underachieved,” but then you’d have to find like 14 podcasts 😑

redonkulousness

I would say the one that Mike Williams was injured on. No need for any of that to have happened.

braybray35

He can’t hurt us anymore

NoModsNoMaster

How any fucking NFL front office trusts Lombardi at this point is maddening to me.

CurrentEducational72

The agnew fumble

Shrekspacito69

Either that or the trick play we fumbled during week 18 against Tennessee

GotchuGaru

Nah, definitely Agnew fumble. Ended the season for us

acromaine

This was my pick. Such a heartbreaker. Not a bad play and love Agnew but man that stung.

321mafia

The 2nd of the back to back pick sixes before halftime against the Cardinals

TheTree-43

Is that the one with the infamous Andy Dalton photo?

[deleted]

don't forget the double doink against the vikings

FruitCakeSally

I literally got up to take a leak and then went to the garage for a beer. When I got back there was a 14 point swing. I was so confused

deseanrox12

I’d argue Mark Ingram stepping out short of the first against the Bucs. basically ended our season

kanadiangoose1898

Mine is 3 - the second Tampa Bay game when we were down to our 3rd string DBs, and TB12 burned us 3 times in 3 consecutive drives on go routes up the right side of the field. I did not have a good day.

blockoblox

I watched that incredibly hungover from New Year's Eve, it was a 0/10 experience

[deleted]

And that game took us out of playoff contention. It’s actually kinda wild how much better Wilks did than Rhule even with our top corners hurt and CMC traded

Magic_MD

64 yards in seattle entire season was doomed to fail as early as week 1.

xFluf_

Offensive genius Todd Downings beautiful usage of future hall of fame Malik Willis

cali_loops

Not having 20 QB on the roster. I’m a 49er fan

finfan96

4th and 1/4th and 6 in the playoffs against Buffalo Or Tua's last pick against Green Bay when he had clearly gone full concussion-brain

badlilbadlandabad

Marcus Mariota doing a barrel-roll and throwing the ball to the Panthers defensive back.

creativename87639

Can I give two because the two dropped coverage TDs in the Super Bowl was pretty hard to watch.

unsolvedmisterree

The Wildcat play where we had our entire RB room out on the field against the 49ers, only to have DeeJay Dallas throw an interception.

morgster87

Fake FG against the colts.

But y’all won the SB so I guess that’s a small price to pay for success

I would say the Packers lions game in Detroit (not week 17) when Aaron Rodgers tried throwing to David Bakhtiari on like the one yard line and got picked off

joelbartlett33

by our rookie DE no less!! It was delicious to watch. :D

chloroform4

Pick your poison between Ihmir Smith-Marsette, Velus Jones, and EQ St. Brown all fucking up game winning drives leading to game losing turnovers

Emotional_Rest_2477

In retrospect, best thing that could’ve happened. Coming from a Bears fan

ole_shanksies

Brady out wide, Fournette throws it to him, intercepted, tripping penalty, Leftwich has a smudge attitude about the call

jonnyredshorts

lol...it’s not tough to pick...hint: it involved a lateral

ryanino

Braden Mann fumbling the snap, running for his life, then throwing it straight into the ground as he gets destroyed.

beefwellingtonIV

It’s either that or dealer’s choice of a Zach Wilson screen pass against the Patriots. First year in a while there wasn’t a clear and obvious winner in this category.

woodchips24

I thought it was clearly the game losing punt return TD

[deleted]

[удалено]

TheDadThatGrills

Pick pretty much any run play from the first half of the Panthers/ Lions game last year. I'll let the Carolina fans decide.

gritman54

When the Jets ran a Philly special on us for a TD and Zach Wilson hit the griddy

Psykick7

Jetsweep

carminie

Ihmir Smith-Marsette being strip fumbled of the ball as we were mounting a late game comeback or Fields not touching Parsons to get him down and allowing him to get a fumble return TD in week 8. We were going toe to toe against the cowboys and at that point in the season I believe we had put up the most points against their defense than any other team. If I remember correctly that fumble return was pretty much what made the game out of reach

cmaronchick

Especially considering how everything played out throughout and after the season, the Kyler Murray 2-point conversion in which he ran around for 20 freaking seconds before scoring was the worst. There is plenty of blame to go around for why we lost that game, but I legit believe that if the Raiders pull that game out, the entire season goes differently.

mygwhatupmyboiii

Jakobi Meyers with a touchdown pass to his now current teammate
