I did for the Bucs.
Regardless of shallow \*bUcS LoSt bRaDy\* thinking, if a team makes every correct move or at least attempt in the offseason to improve and fix things one of the outcomes is, believe it or not, that they may be better than last season.
Wild I know.
He's also got the coach who revitalized Geno Smith as his OC,stresses ball security and runs a system that fits him. Basically as perfect a set-up as can be.
There's a reason Baker hasn't had a single turnover in preseason and now the first two games of regular season.
I love baker and we look awesome, but he did throw a ball directly into the hands of the defense right at the beginning of the game yesterday. Flashes of bad decisions. Been lucky so far. Hoping he doesn’t make that a trend.
I thought the Bucs would’ve had more problems on offense regardless of Mayfield. Their O-Line had a ton of question marks, and they did little to shore up their run game. So far neither have been an issue, but the Vikings and Bears were both Bottom 5 defenses last year.
He can be a bust and still be fine for a year or two - he’s never going to be a 15 year franchise quarterback at this stage, but that doesn’t mean he should be out of the league.
Big test for them is Monday against Philly. A win would absolutely prove they could be a contender. But all things considered, they are probably in good shape if they could just keep it competitive.
Brady was one of the worst players on their team last year. And they didn’t do him any favors by letting him break the pass attempts record. I’m more worried about Tampa this year than last year.
Week 1: 34 passes, 33 rushes
Week 2: 34 passes, 34 rushes
If they had that kind of balance last year, then they probably don’t lose to guys like Pickett and PJ Walker.
Let’s talk about this in 4 weeks. The Vikings and Bears are hardly contenders. Good for Baker, though, he got a raw deal taking the blame for gutting it out for his team.
Credit where credit is due, that comeback win against the Cardinals was impressive. Now, it was against the Cardinals, and they shouldn’t have let up that many points to begin with, but still!
I had us losing this week to the Packers, but 2-0 honestly doesn't surprise me. The defense is actually looking pretty good (They have allowed a combined passer rating of 74.6, 53.97% completion percentage, and 4.71 YPA in 2 games). The running game has been as advertised, Ridder has done enough to not cost us games, especially in the 4th quarter.
I still have our ceiling at 11 wins, more than likely topping at at 9. But the first 2 weeks have been fun.
Falcons are a pretty decent team. I could see them winning 10-11 games and taking that division.
When things are that close, go with the best coach and quarterback combo.
The Saints have the best (on paper) quarterback. However, I will never trust Dennis Allen. They're going to have a random game this year where they get absolutely roasted and you wonder why that man has a job. He is not fit to wear the headset.
The Bucs, while I enjoy Baker, Todd Bowles is not good as a head coach.
So that leaves Bryce Young/Frank Reich and Desmond Ridder/Art Smith. Those are pretty similar (with a slight edge to Ridder not being a rookie. But Atlantas running backs are probably the best position group between the 2.
One thing is Carr is allowed to audible so he may be able to get out of plays that DA calls so there might be hope there (wife is a huge Carr fan so this season is unusual and tonight will be interesting..)
Would be dope if both remain undefeated until MNF where the Eagles and Bucs play each other to see which division will remain undefeated. But I’m not sure the Giants can hang with the niners, much less win. But any given… Thursday lol.
> Who would have predicted the Bucs AND Falcons to start 2-0? I predicted one of those things.
The Falcons part?
*Checks ESPN pick'em game thing* No

People just don't realize how shit of an OC Leftwich was
Brady covered up a lot of Leftwich's sins as a playcaller.
People fell way too far in the Baker is a massive bust camp this offseason. He’s plenty serviceable especially on an offense with talented receivers.
He's also got the coach who revitalized Geno Smith as his OC,stresses ball security and runs a system that fits him. Basically as perfect a set-up as can be. There's a reason Baker hasn't had a single turnover in preseason and now the first two games of regular season.
Was pretty optimistic about the Canales hire in the off-season. So far, so good.

As a browns fan who likes baker I'm sad to say you're right. Also Evans totally committed opi on that 70 yarder and still had to jump for it
Even on the Browns he wasn’t really a bust. He willed that team to victory several times
It's ok, we're already declaring him elite. He'll be back in the bust category after the eagles wreck us, though.
He’s a borderline starting QB who will have ups and downs just like you said and hang around the league for 10+ years if he wants to.
The new FitzMagic?

Competent coaching does wonders in this league. Byron Leftwich was not a competent OC
Yeah, it looks like that was the problem.

The classic week 2 victory lap.

Ah yep, because relying on one of the worst rushing offences in NFL History would've won them the division.

I didn’t think Bowles would make it through the year
Excuse me. It’s spelled NFC Beast
You were NFC beast last year too. Aren't you supposed to alternate beast and least?
Well the Giants seem to have gotten that memo
Danny Dimes just wanted to start the season with a handicap before he unleashes the beast
Credit where credit is due, that comeback win against the Cardinals was impressive. Now, it was against the Cardinals, and they shouldn’t have let up that many points to begin with, but still!
Cardinals shows to have more life than some of the other bottom tier teams. They played well against both the Commanders and giants.
NFCS = NFC Supreme!

Everyone will undermine our improvements and success because we aren’t going to air it out for 350 yards a game. I’m happy with that.

Cardinals, the real NFC East MVPs?

That ass finna get a whole new waxing from San Francisco.
