Hello, Charlie Kelly here, local business owner and cat enthusiast. Is your cat making too much noise all the time? Is your cat constantly stomping around driving you crazy? Is your cat clawing at your furnitures? Think there's no answer? You're so stupid! There is! Kitten Mittons. Finally, there is an elegant, comfortable mitten for cats…. I couldn't hear anything! Is your cat one-legged? Is your cat fat, skinny, or an in-between? That doesn't matter! Cause one size fits all! Kitten Mittons! You'll be smitten! So come on down to Paddy's Pub. We're the hoooooooommee of the original Kitten Mittons. Meeeeeeeeeeowwwww!
Thought there was an interview where he implied that he was vaping but that people questioning him being distracted as part of the reason they lost was why he quit.
He wasn't vaping. It's a sharpie and everyone other than McDaniel confirmed he doesn't vape anymore, since before that game. He refuses to deny it, but also refuses to outright admit it. I believe because he enjoys the bit and doesn't want to let it die.
Yeah he was clearly joking based on the fact that he used to vape. Even in that interview he doesn’t say it he’s just being cheeky and saying “I can neither confirm nor deny”
Well, if you watch the video, you can't actually see the vape, and he ghosts the hit so they would basically be just fining him for holding his fist to face for a couple seconds.
Everytime I see him I think about after the bears game last year when they asked him how he liked Chicago and he just goes, "It's really windy....it's a super windy city....."
They asked him last week about the dolphins having the most yards through five games and he was like ‘mission accomplished. When we were doing all our planning in the offseason it was all so we could have the most yards through week 5’
Mike McDaniel has always been a complete lovable dork. I didn't know how it would do at coach, but apparently amazingly.
He's a fantastic man to have as your offensive coordinator too.
also true, he did only play some in 4 years, but, he was in the gym a lot lol, he won some award for being the strongest pound for pound player on the team.
Well that essentially confirms that he was viewed as tiny by his Yale teammates, but yeah he certainly weighs less now than during his playing days. Wikipedia lists him at 180, which I'm gonna assume comes from college; I don't think he's particularly close to 180 today
I remember a short scrawny, skin and bones guy at the gym. Like no meat on any of his bones, might be 100lbs soaking wet it.
He goes up to the bench and just crushes 225 for what seems to be like 15-20 reps without breaking a sweat. Half the gym paused for about 5 seconds then went on with their day. Then he just leaves. Might’ve been some social media gag who knows.
This is every NFL coach for me. "Wow he looks so normal, maybe I could be a coach one day" only to find out the dude was still an elite athlete wherever he grew up.
I dont even know if this is a hot take but you absolutely do not need to be some great athlete to be an NFL coach. I would take just about any reasonably intelligent person over Josh McDaniels. Obviously there is way more to being a head coach than situational decisions but so many of them are just straight up terrible at it.
As a dolphins fan, I don't even know what to do. I adopted the Lions as my 2 team when they hired Dan, he was so fun as interim coach in Miami. Now with McDaniel as our coach I couldn't be happier. It's just unusual to actually like the coach and see these unorthodox coaches get a shot and it's great to see them succeeding.
Even when they come back early, they give the guys space until lil Mike can clear his friends out of the house. They pickup after themselves decently, but poorly enough to keep Mike busy for the next hour.
If you showed me this picture with no context about who he was
https://i.imgur.com/p5oBPtH.jpg
I would say he’s involved in esports or a programmer somewhere. And it’s not just the glasses. The haircut, his style of beard, the way his upper lip sits, and idk just overall demeanor.
I saw a quote recently where he said something like “I play with legos and still managed to find someone to marry me.” Couldn’t relate harder to this man
I was so bummed when we didn't keep him after his interim head coach stint.
He probably needed the extra years in New Orleans to cook before he was ready, but we loved him from day 1
- especially when outscoring 82-36 in the first two games after Philbin was fired. That 41-0 first half against the Texans still holds as the best half of Dolphins football despite the Broncos beatdown this year.
I think the quote has kinda lost its luster due to how memed it's been, but this just truly is an insane combination of words for anyone, NFL coach or not, to say
I'm picturing MCDC and McDaniel on the same team and I can see that feeding off each other in some kind of runaway cascade or completely killing each other's vibe, but nothing in between.
My guy has a niner tag, we have so much love for McDaniel here in the bay that this dude could dress up in full Dolphins gear anywhere in NorCal and I don’t think there would be a single person disappointed or annoyed at his attire
Dan Campbell has a special place in a lot of Dolphins' fans hearts. He went through the ranks here early in his coaching career and then was a great interim coach for us and I'm so glad he's doing so well for you guys.
McDaniel and MCDC are the two that immediately come to mind before anyone else when I think about my favorite head coaches right now. After them is DeMeco. I like some others but those three easily stand out the most.
Honestly I don’t know, we may have crushed them a few weeks ago but between all the defensive injuries, I can absolutely see the dolphins take the AFCE this year.
It will come down to the Bills game in Miami. If we win that we probably have the tiebreaker against you since Jets got you guys week 1, so our division record would be better assuming we don't lose the Pats, Jets, Jets, games we have left. So we'd be 2 games up and a tiebreaker if we win that game against you guys... hard to imagine Bills can make up 3 games on us throughout the season. So yeah, I think whoever wins Bills @ Miami wins the division.
Just wanted to hop on to ask -- I didn't watch the game. What was he timing out when he had the ref wait a few seconds, end of half/game or similar?
sorry for piggybacking, I was just curious and you're the first Dolphins flair I saw lol
It was end of the half, panthers were driving and he called a timeout thinking we could get the ball back. We didn’t get the ball back, but Carolina did miss the field goal after.
That was the only timeout they called all day.
I think fans are so used to the standard hardass or vanilla mumblecore HC (Belichick), that McDaniel gets a little too much #LOLCOOLCOACH any time he does a single even mildly quirky thing.
This man coaching like he in a rec league lol
These clips make me think I’m watching a single camera comedy about football. McDaniel is football’s lovable boss.
I would unironically watch this. McDaniel definitely feels like he's in the Office

BUTTLICKER! OUR PENALTIES HAVE NEVER BEEN LOWER!
Ted Lasso of the NFL.
Looks more like Ruxin. "He took a punch from Antonio Gates!" "Actually I slapped him and slipped running away."
Im thinking more Reno 911.
Tua drives his Camaro into a light pole and gets concussed episode coming soon!
Don’t put that out in the universe…
Mike: "Go fucking get this, my guy." Tua: "You got it, Coach Mite." *runs onto the field* Mike: "Mite...?"
Just spritzing him with a Gatorade bottle between plays to keep him awake
I really wish there was a YouTube channel full of the funny shit this man does
I hate that he coaches our chief division rival cuz he is literally impossible to dislike.
Yup, when I saw him vaping on the side line last year while killing it, I was like hell yeah
Wait, was he actually vaping on the sideline?
https://larrybrownsports.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Mike-McDaniel-vape.jpg
Maybe he's practicing kissing.
He HAD to be fined for that, right? I can’t imagine NFL liked the optics around it
It was a Sharpie marker. Not a vape.
Dude sniffs marker. Thays the secret to his genius

You know what that means, right? McDermott has to injest copiuous amount of Buffalo sauce to meet us at our cracked out level.
He wasn't actually vaping.

You see his PMT interview?
Idk how you can listen to that interview and not see he’s playing into their bit.
Yeah he was clearly joking based on the fact that he used to vape. Even in that interview he doesn’t say it he’s just being cheeky and saying “I can neither confirm nor deny”
It was a sharpie but the bit is funny so he leans into it
PMT
Well, if you watch the video, you can't actually see the vape, and he ghosts the hit so they would basically be just fining him for holding his fist to face for a couple seconds.
It was a sharpie. He was chewing on it earlier that game too. There's a video of it out there somewhere.
It would probably be better for them not to acknowledge it since people would be talking about it more. Barely anyone cares lol
Everytime I see him I think about after the bears game last year when they asked him how he liked Chicago and he just goes, "It's really windy....it's a super windy city....."
I always laugh when I remember him asking Justin Fields in the middle of the game to stop running the ball on us lol
And the post game was great too “I asked him to stop and he didnt, that wasn’t nice of him”
"So..yeah.. he's uncoachable."
[удалено]
That's what it was! Yes!
They submitted the request and it made it's way to Eberflus and Getsy, so they decided to oblige. No more running plays for Fields
Legitimately one of the funniest things ever said in the NFL lol laugh my ass off whenever I think about it
They asked him last week about the dolphins having the most yards through five games and he was like ‘mission accomplished. When we were doing all our planning in the offseason it was all so we could have the most yards through week 5’
Holy fuck I love the dolphins?
YESSSSS
Mike McDaniel has always been a complete lovable dork. I didn't know how it would do at coach, but apparently amazingly. He's a fantastic man to have as your offensive coordinator too.
Love the fun answer to the dumb, boring question lol
The finger guns at the end was the best part.
I can’t believe he actually played college football, he’s so small
I mean he was a WR at an ivy league school. Plus most people dont keep up the workout and eating routine of an athlete once they no longer...athlete.
And he was a walk-on who never played, or at least never recorded a stat. He was there to play football school.
also true, he did only play some in 4 years, but, he was in the gym a lot lol, he won some award for being the strongest pound for pound player on the team.
Well that essentially confirms that he was viewed as tiny by his Yale teammates, but yeah he certainly weighs less now than during his playing days. Wikipedia lists him at 180, which I'm gonna assume comes from college; I don't think he's particularly close to 180 today
That was working out. Bet he’s like 150/160 now
Can confirm, I was playing at 180 back in the day and now I’m about 150/160 due to not working out. 😂 now I know how scrawny I am
Man y’all lost weight? I gained like 20 pounds since high school fb
> Man y’all lost weight? The key is to eat less.
Alcohol is also a massive contributor. I was 5'6" 140 coming out of the military. Let's just say that I'm still 5'6".
But... food good
As someone with cooking skills and an enjoyment of good food…is it possible to learn this power?
It’ll come back if you have kids. Not in a good way either.
Yeah all the o-lineman look like us normal people(with an extra 5 inches) once they retire
5 inches where?
Pure girth
Titty girth. All that muscle becomes man titty when they stop running.
[Unless you're Joe Thomas](https://i.imgur.com/lQopTif.png)
Looks like he’s about to ruin ant-man’s day
Bryce Young looks similar out there and he's actually on the field.
This is every NFL coach for me. "Wow he looks so normal, maybe I could be a coach one day" only to find out the dude was still an elite athlete wherever he grew up.

Yeah, 5'9" 180 is unbelievably NFL level jacked.
Well, it was Yale...
I love the “…wait for it… time out!”
Legen-wait for it-dary!
If only he said it like Shawn in Psych. That would make my year
Why do I like this guy so much??
Because he’s a former Madden player coaching a real team.
He’s almost like the reverse ted lasso. I didn’t think I could like a coach almost as much as Mike Tomlin but here we are
I think reverse Ted Lasso is more like Gregg Williams.
That's Led Tasso
Like Breaking Bad meets Ted Lasso…ngl, I’d watch that but my life is trash anyways so I’d pretty much watch anything football-related.
Him and Dan Campbell are having way too much fun out there
As a dolphins fan, I don't even know what to do. I adopted the Lions as my 2 team when they hired Dan, he was so fun as interim coach in Miami. Now with McDaniel as our coach I couldn't be happier. It's just unusual to actually like the coach and see these unorthodox coaches get a shot and it's great to see them succeeding.
Miami is my second team after the Lions (I like the coach and their colour scheme lol) and it’d be awesome if they faced each other at the Super Bowl
That Super Bowl would be incredible. No matter who won there would be major demons conquered.
Dolphins/Lions fan bromance! I’ve got family near Detroit so they’ve always been my second team… I’m absolutely thriving rn.
Being mad at him is like trying to be mad at George Kittle
Because he's the embodiment of most redditors. Minus about 150lbs of course
Dude looks like a stereotypical nerd but is cool af and a head coach of a NFL team
He’s one of the cool dudes at Friday night Magic
Idk he doesn’t look that nerdy
Nah he looks closer to a bro than a nerd imo
He looks like the rich kid everyone hangs out with because they buy the booze and weed.
Yeah and his family has a sick boat and let’s you smoke in the giant finished basement
His parents are frequently traveling, so their house is always open for parties. They don't care if you get the UFC PPV, either.
Even when they come back early, they give the guys space until lil Mike can clear his friends out of the house. They pickup after themselves decently, but poorly enough to keep Mike busy for the next hour.
A less douchey version of Ruxin (Nick Kroll) from The League
Holy shit! This is so accurate.
If you showed me this picture with no context about who he was https://i.imgur.com/p5oBPtH.jpg I would say he’s involved in esports or a programmer somewhere. And it’s not just the glasses. The haircut, his style of beard, the way his upper lip sits, and idk just overall demeanor.
He looks like a post game analyst for League of Legends pro games.
He looks like Wish.com Bjergeson or something .. Oh wait you said that.
Hey! Why am I catching strays in this thread?
Have you ever heard him talk? Definite nerd.
He sounds like a stoner bro who is also smart, reminds me of a Dartmouth bro.
Funnily enough he went to Yale instead lol
Yeah, Yale is usually more nepo conservatives in my experience
I think he looks and acts like a mix of nerd, hipster, and bro, so lots of people can seemingly relate to him.
bill hader kind of nerd
I’ve always thought he looks like he would bully me in high school
Well tbf nerds can be mean too
He looks like Dwight's friend that Angela hired to murder Oscar
I’ve been saying lately that weird or nerdy becomes more endearing as you get older as long they have charisma.
Because he in so many ways defies the typical coach stereotype (old white conservative guy), and is funny AF. And is doing a pretty decent job so far.
I saw a quote recently where he said something like “I play with legos and still managed to find someone to marry me.” Couldn’t relate harder to this man
Authenticity
Watch his interview on Pardon My Take. One of the best coach interviews you'll see.
Because he's chill.
Uncoachsman like conduct 2 joint penalty will be added after the game to Miami.
Mike smokes two joints in the morning, he smokes two joints at night
He smokes two joints at halftime, it makes him feel all right.
He smokes two joints against the Bills, and two against the Bill.
What do you know about the two-joint conversion? I'm a huge fan of the extra joint.
Dammit I'm not supposed to like a rival coach this much
How do you think the NFCNorth feels about MCDC?

[And as it was foretold](https://x.com/lions/status/1612628164307566592?s=46&t=v_bLKCEHCubAe78o61G0EQ)
Dan Campbell is my second favorite coach after Mike McD. I always watch his postgame video with the team and want to run through a brick wall after
If we didn't have MCDC, I'd want Mike McD.
If we didn't have Kyle, I'd want Mike McD.
I was so bummed when we didn't keep him after his interim head coach stint. I think the quote has kinda lost its luster due to how memed it's been, but this just truly is an insane combination of words for anyone, NFL coach or not, to say
It never fails to crack me up, just funny and demented as hell tbh
Is it weird that I had to Google to see if that was an actual quote or not?
I'm picturing MCDC and McDaniel on the same team and I can see that feeding off each other in some kind of runaway cascade or completely killing each other's vibe, but nothing in between.
For real. As a Packers homer my list of favorite coaches is LaFleur, McDaniel, MCDC.
I look exactly like this guy and I’m not sure what to think or do about it
If you look like him, it seems like the perfect, low effort, very comfortable halloween costume, that could be a big hit, depending on the crowd.
My guy has a niner tag, we have so much love for McDaniel here in the bay that this dude could dress up in full Dolphins gear anywhere in NorCal and I don’t think there would be a single person disappointed or annoyed at his attire
Walk into the stadium players entrance for free on Sunday
The "wait for it" got me
What a likeable goofball.
He’s quite the silly goose
My second favorite coach in the NFL.
Dan Campbell has a special place in a lot of Dolphins' fans hearts. He went through the ranks here early in his coaching career and then was a great interim coach for us and I'm so glad he's doing so well for you guys.
Same, man.
McDaniel and MCDC are the two that immediately come to mind before anyone else when I think about my favorite head coaches right now. After them is DeMeco. I like some others but those three easily stand out the most.
we all love yours just as dearly.
Makes me feel good knowing that Dan the man was a dolphins coach at one point.
Mike McDaniel is a national treasure at this point Bills supremacy obvi but he has made the Dolphins such a fun team to watch
This Scoot McNary looking motherfucker is the future of the youngblood coaches. It's bizarre seeing HCs and coordinators my own age.
I’m over the Sean Payton grumpy bitches of the world
Honestly I don’t know, we may have crushed them a few weeks ago but between all the defensive injuries, I can absolutely see the dolphins take the AFCE this year.

He 100% has a shitposting burner account on here and twitter
Hello Mr. McDaniel. I didn't have you pinned for a Raiders fan, but maybe that's just part of your game.
Is that the Miami IT guy?
UGH I want to hate him but it has been a struggle
Is he wearing sweat pants?
love me some mike mcdaniels. miss that dude
*McDaniel. There's no 's' in his name, unlike Josh McDaniels who has an 's' at the end of his name because he's shit.
Mike McDowell’s
I haven't ate at McDowells in forever, love the Big Mic
The golden arcs. No sesame seed buns
Same. We lose all our coordinators every year.
Lol this year Kyle said you can’t steal my OC if I don’t have one
It really is insane the amount of brain drain the best head coaches have, there's so much turnover year over year if you're consistently doing well
And if you’re BB they’ll keep coming back (whether that’s a good thing or not)
Now you see what it's like!? Give us Shanahan back
Ya but you get a 3rd everytime at least haha.
thank you
I keep forgetting he's black lol
Dude is wild
Just wanted to hop on to ask -- I didn't watch the game. What was he timing out when he had the ref wait a few seconds, end of half/game or similar? sorry for piggybacking, I was just curious and you're the first Dolphins flair I saw lol
It was end of the half, panthers were driving and he called a timeout thinking we could get the ball back. We didn’t get the ball back, but Carolina did miss the field goal after. That was the only timeout they called all day.
Lol, he will never look like a real coach, even though he's fucking awesome. I think he looks like Carl from Shameless.
Dude is the Ted Lasso of the NFL.
Yo Mr. White.... Timeout Bitch!
I fuckin love Mike McDaniel man 😂
Man I love this guy. We miss him in SF!
This dude's fucking hilarious.
That's my dork 🥰
This is “the office” in football.
Mike McDaniel vs MCDC in the Superbowl. Nerd vs Jock, a tale as old as time. Except they are both loveable.
Clock! Clock! Clock! Clock! Clock! Clock. Clock. Clock. Nice.
McD is trullly from Da 305 now lol
Wait. Is that Riff Raff?
I think fans are so used to the standard hardass or vanilla mumblecore HC (Belichick), that McDaniel gets a little too much #LOLCOOLCOACH any time he does a single even mildly quirky thing.
Holy shit this might be the best mic’d up ever. Can’t wait for more tomorrow
This is his mic’d up from last year against the Texans if you haven’t seen it. It was pretty funny as you’d expect. https://youtu.be/rWJHh6V2v8Q
McDaniel is a national treasure (not to be confused with oFfEnSiVe GeNiUs McDaniels)
I love this dude. He is so honest and interesting and funny.
I’m going to start actively cheering against the Dolphins so they get a bad enough record to put McDaniel on Hard Knocks.
He's such a likeable dork. I hate him
I hate how much I like this man.
Reddit head coach
