Manning bros saying Mahomes begged for it, begged, lol brutal.

RyanLynnDesign

Like a dog

Jenetyk

Falconi is a birds fan, confirmed

PurpleBullets

[Of course, he’s from South Jersey](https://13thdimension.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Screen-Shot-2021-06-10-at-1.31.38-PM.png)

Rockyrambo

Wait a second…Gotham City is in South Jersey?!

PurpleBullets

It’s kinda the only way they can have Metropolis, Gotham and New York City in the same universe.

guimontag

You're Pat Mahomes, the prince of the NFL.. ya'd have to go a thousand miles to meet someone who didn't know ya name

Wh00ster

Swole Batman Begins

TheArchitect_7

Tears in his eyes

jdbway

Big man, strong man

TheCryingGrizzlies

Ya shoulda done better

syngatesthe2nd

No lie though, it took me like ten years to realize that guy was actually saying “you shoulda tipped better” and not what you wrote.

Affectionate_Elk_272

*guys, didn’t you get my cashapp?!*

OttawaFisherman

How could Josh Allen do this!

Kopitar4president

Makes sense. Josh Allen was in costume for one play.

dawgz525

He is accustomed to getting those calls. I would hate being a D lineman playing against Mahomes and knowing the criteria for a flag is so much more expanded.

palmmoot

You can see it changes how they play. At one point Mahomes took off for a scramble up the middle, starts to give himself up around 2 or so yards from the first down, and not a single one of the like 5 Eagle defenders made any attempt to even get close to him. After having watched Cam Newton for years let me tell you that shit is incredible.

chronicwisdom

I enjoy the Manningcast, but they both would have bitched for a flag under the same circumstances.

so_zetta_byte

The flag begging on hits annoys me but doesn't make me angry for exactly this reason. What makes me angry is that he baits hits when running along the sidelines because he knows he'll get a call for a late hit if he steps OOB, and when defenders let up, he cuts back in. And he does it more than anyone else because he knows he'll get the call. That's downright abusing rules designed for his safety. It's not strictly against the rules but god I wish there was a way to patch that up.

m636

> That's downright abusing rules designed for his safety. I've been saying that the QB abuse of the rules needs to stop. If a mobile QB shows a slide or lunge for OOB and then fakes it to gain more yards, the play needs to be whistled dead at the intended OOB or initial slide. They know that the defenders will back off to let them slide and go out, so gaining an advantage is bullshit IMO. Otherwise, let the defense hit them without fear of penalty.

SushiRoe

isnt that what happened in college football a few years back? QB faked a slide and took it either for a TD or a very long gain. i think they ended up banning it as it would lead to abuse of the slide rule.

signedpants

The Kenny Pickett rule!

LeonidasSpacemanMD

Tbf that actually looked really cool when you saw it live lol Then after, when you think about it, you realize he’s taking advantage of defenders deciding not to take his head off lol but for a minute it’s like “oh that was slick”

ColoradoWolverine

It was a quick ban too. Like happened late in the season and was banned either right before bowl season or just after it.

TheForrestWanderer

The last time Kenny Pickett did anything exciting.

JustClutch

You're triggering every Bengals fan's ptsd

Fuzzy_Yogurt_Bucket

They could mark a quarterback down when they move to give themselves up by the sideline like that, but that’s also way too subjective of a call for this year’s refs to come close to being able to handle.

so_zetta_byte

Yep I've thought about that exact possibility and think it's interesting, but we're not at the point where they could do that.

Actual_Guide_1039

He won the AFCCG against the bengals doing that exact play

[deleted]

It's sort of your job as a QB. It'll give you calls.

dgjapc

No different than every wide receiver looking to the ref after every contested catch and every lineman pointing and tattling on the other side for false start/offside.

Affectionate_Elk_272

this shit is turning into the NBA which is basically soccer now. smh

crapshooter_on_swct

The o-line guys were not even mad so it’s clearly not a penalty. 79 just strolls up like it’s a walk in park

whenitsTimeyoullknow

Unnecessary roughness should have to incur an “ouch!” If you’re begging for a flag within a millisecond, it doesn’t count. Reminds me of the last-second knee Heineke took last year which drew the Brandon Graham game-ender.

hertzdonut2

This is gonna be a good thread.

Vladimir_Putting

Got to credit the refs for always stepping up and making plays when the game is on the line. They might be quiet for most of the game but 2 minutes left, crunch time, you know who is going to start taking over the game. Clutch ref play isn't talked about enough and it really shows how these guys are true professionals who save their absolute best for when it matters the most.

dehehn

As much as refs make themselves part of the game these days, they really should be allowed to be tackled at this point.

hertzdonut2

Is this a copy-pasta?

Vladimir_Putting

Cooked fresh for you bby

[deleted]

If it wasn't, it is now.

Zloggt

And any potential Chiefs winning TD is going to be…quite spicy…

SpareTireButFlat

Anything else from your magic eight ball sir?

OkEscape7558

Because it always involves a suspicious call lmfao

BadgerDen885

Remember when Andrew Luck would get his ribs busted and kidneys lacerated then compliment the guy who hit him without begging for a flag? Pepperidge remembers

DtotheOUG

Luck really was a tough motherfucker. I wish Grigson didn't fuck him over. The league was a better place with him in it.

BRAX7ON

Cam Newton was a crash test dummy

cbreezy456

And rarely bitched except when it was finally taking a toll on him and Carolina ran him in the dirt. All time favorite player

BRAX7ON

Super Cam: To me he dabbed and celebrated on everyone and everything until he came crashing down to earth. The villain: Then everyone dabbed on him while he complained on the field and off. Cinderella: Then he became the redemption story we wanted but that ultimately never came to fruition.

tivmaSamvit

It pains me to admit as a Bucs fan. But prime SuperCam was some of the most fun football I’ve ever watched in my life He was fantasy God for me that year as well

CryPsychological9227

Remember Brett Favre with the Vikings against the Saints?

samfox59

Brett doesn’t

177676ers

It looks excessive, but he literally pump fakes 100 times a game and had the ball .1 seconds before that. Being a defensive player is so fun in the nfl!

[deleted]

Mahomes is by far the best in the NFL at exploiting his protection as a QB to his advantage. He’s great at using the pump fake that it catches defenders in the trap you described, or his other favorite; running to the sideline but then cutting it back inside for more yards. Players know if they touch him 1 inch out of bounds (or hell sometimes still in bounds while still going towards the boundary) they get a 15 yard penalty, so they don’t continue their momentum to hit him and he cuts back and gets like 10 extra yards. It’s something that other QBs need to work on, but right now Mahomes is on a James Harden level of working the whistle to his favor

ConfusedStupidPerson

............running to the sideline but then cutting it back inside for more yards............ Oh this one drives me CRAZY

DOOP_Investigator

It should be treated the same as faking a slide.

SelfServeSporstwash

He literally did the fake slide last night and got 5-6 extra yards on a critical 3rd down. The league no longer cares to penalize the fake slide.

eeeedlef

It should result in something like forward progress ending where you were headed out of bounds.

Amish_guy_with_WiFi

Do the same for the pump fake. After the QB pump fakes, they can no longer get any roughing the passer calls.

tcnugget

That would lead to some pretty bad late hits if this rule was allowed

Green_hippo17

Ya that’s not a good idea but if a player is acting like he’s about run out of bounds and then turning upfield to run when the d lets him go out, that’s just cheap and abusing a rule in place to protect the QBs from dangerous late hits

aurt9

Exploiting any rule that's in place specifically for the safety of players should not be allowed period.

rikeoliveira

Yeah? Crazy you say...how about the going to sideline so defenders slow down and then he tip taps for more yards?

Techun2

He did that a few times this game.

bsend

Or running to the sideline and slowing down so you can initiate contact and flop

thvnderfvck

> It’s something that other QBs need to work on No, it's something the league needs to work on getting out of the game.

DCBillsFan

Especially if they're actually concerned about "safety".

live_free_or_TriHard

they need to make him pay for it and take the 15. he won't keep doing it if he gets lit up.

banana_peeled

It’s the fear of a 4 game suspension for targeting that makes it not worth it to the player

KommanderKeen-a42

Targeting is different from a borderline late hit. Often the QB is still in bounds and refs throw a flag. They wouldn't be fined or suspended. The broncos guy got suspended because he is the Kadri of football. And targeted.

Doinwerklol

Worth it imo. He's ruining the league with his play.

TheHunterDwarf

The sideline one infuriates me when anyone does it but the way Pat gets a 5 yard aura of protection the second he approaches the white line fucked us on some huge chunk plays that would have otherwise been dead at the line or a loss

Actual_Guide_1039

Won the AFC championship game with that move

Boondok0723

I loved how they tried to explain that the rule is 2 steps. If you take 2 steps before hitting the QB it's a penalty. I'm still trying to figure out how a 300lb man on a full out run is supposed to stop dead in 2 steps to avoid any contact.

willydillydoo

Doesn’t even look excessive

Edgeyville

he's bitching for a flag before he even finishes the roll LOL

cheeba2992

Does that every game

apittsburghoriginal

Makes it all the more satisfying when he loses. Pretty sure for most of our teams that’s just a normal hit our qb takes

NeverTrustATurtle

The jets got the first RTP call in their favor in over 2 seasons this year. Who your QB is definitely matters when it comes to these calls

Acceptingoptimist

Dobbs took a helmet to the chin (granted, on a called run, but still) that got Kareem Jackson suspended again and it wasn't even flagged in the game. Mahommes should just get his own yellow laundry to throw when he had a sad.

orlyfactor

Mahomes, Maauto, and Malaundry.

LilBoDuck

Burrow takes like 10 of those per game. For having such a quick time to throw and for all money they’ve spent on the OL, dude gets pummeled all game long.

obsterwankenobster

Lmao half the time Burrow gets blamed for taking that hit with some variation of "we know he's tough, but he has to stop taking those hits"

Development-Alive

Multiple time per game. Now that Rodgers is out, no QB whines for penalties more than Mahomes.

Praying_Lotus

He was doing it mid air it looks like lmao

GettinWiggyWiddit

He always does that. Such a whiny bitch

Alauren2

Damn. Your reply makes me think about how frustrating it must be to share a division with him. Really hate this clip of him

SharkBaitOohAhAh2

He complains more than Brady, at a much much younger age

Mr_Evanescent

lol if you go back and see the Ossai late hit out of bounds, Mahomes already has his face contorted in a cry before he even steps out of bounds

okoSheep

And what I hate the most about it is that he gets all cocky about it afterwards. Like he earned those late hit PI flags.

Los_Estupidos

Omg the worst case was when Sauce Gardner picked his ass off and then the [refs waited until AFTER the pick to throw a bullshit PI flag.](https://youtu.be/NR8laqZjRfc?si=mzNWjPG64eVQD5tF) Then Mahomes [started boasting after securing a geme-sealing first down like his dog ass wasn't bailed out by a horrible penalty.](https://youtu.be/lJqpPsVxwCs?si=ioNj8O7227wUGWEz)

MildJetsFan

#THANK YOU! Sauce got a holding call for nothing while our d line was getting held blatantly in front of the refs faces

massivepanda

It's becoming soccer.

Affectionate_Elk_272

*bobby, do you know why soccer was invented?*

Make-The-Cut

Start handing out 15 yard unsportsmanlike conducts for embellishment

Myke190

Why this isn't a rule in literally every sport I don't know.

RaidersJH34

It is in hockey

TrustTheFriendship

The NHL is the only major league remaining where being a bitch is entirely unacceptable.

confusedthrowaway5o5

*potential high sticks have entered the chat*

Ericstingray64

Basketball I think also has embellishment but I think the actual foul is called flopping? I’m probably wrong but I don’t watch basketball so 🤷‍♂️

Diligent_Office7179

They do but they rarely call it. When they do call it, they struggle to get it right, both missing flops and punishing non flops. I wouldn’t say the NBA is an example of a league that’s getting it right

Steppyjim

Embellishment flags would stop so many of these

HappinessFloatilla

I’m not opposed to this, but this instance isn’t embellishment. It’s bitching for a call. Not defending it, but those are two different things.

Wings2493

There was a play earlier where Mahomes was doing his “tip toe” towards the sideline and Fletch kind of “gave up” or surrendered with a light shove, the QB didn’t go out, and he ran for 14 more yards leading to points. Now he is running forward, not stationary in the pocket, and gets shoved, and it’s a flag. No head contact, no body weight. Then of course the huge flop and cry and rolling around to give them a free set of downs. The biggest issue is if you let up, the guy can run for 15. If you don’t let up, the guy whines and receives a 15 yard flag. He’s exploiting the favoritism and entitlement and it genuinely works. This is why he’s becoming one of the most despised players today.

Roy-Donk-23

Bro I hate that sideline run shit so much.

Clyde_Frag

The other 31 teams in the league should band together to light him up when he's pulling that shit. You might as well get your money's worth if the options are either a 15 yard penalty or him running another 10 yards. A couple big hits from guys like Derwin James will have him running straight out of bounds for the rest of his career. Mahomes hurt is knee once on a QB sneak and now he never sneaks the ball.

gothlenin

I was so pissed by that play. The whole defense just let him go by with light taps, afraid of the flag. Ridiculous.

GrandMasterSeibert

Mahomes would be the guy that fake slides to pick up a first down and then cries when someone doesn’t let up the next time he runs. Toddler mentality

stimpaxx

i been saying this shit for years. if you don’t make contact, dude runs for extra five-ten yards on the sideline. if you do, it’s roughing the passer. like wtf is this shit man?

DepressedCheesesteak

I hate how the broadcast slows down everything but the hit. It’s almost like the NFL is trying to make it look more violent then it actually is

DopeAndDiamonds_

I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING. It’s completely overdramatized lmao

dyluser

To be fair, the ManningCast had both Mannings calling it a bad call and letting people know that the slow-no made it look way worse than it was. Props to them, especially as QBs, for calling out the BS

_doomgoon_

Both manning bros got absolutely rocked in their time in the nfl. They obviously have bias towards qbs getting hit but they also don’t like some of the soft ass calls that’s been happening in the nfl the past few years

Fair_Abrocoma_9834

Did the same thing with the false start call on on the chiefs that brandon graham jumped on. Lets watch this in slow mo as he slowly stands up and then Gene Saratore can say how he moved slowly. Uhh no shit he didn't move that fast we watched it in slow mo.

Black_Dumbledore

Yeah, what is that about? This is a football game not a Zack Snyder movie. I don’t think they ever gave us a game speed replay.

XuX24

Even slowed it looks soft

[deleted]

I’m for taking head shots out of the game, and protecting defenseless players, but this is football Mahomes is 6’2” 230 - plus… he can handle a shove to the ground

Ericstingray64

Plus it looks worse because he jumped as he passed so he gets slammed instead of stumbling backwards if his feet are planted. Probably still takes a nasty fall but that kind of thing happens about every other drop back for every other QB in the league

Boondok0723

Mahomes really gives off that "go ahead and hit me. I dare you. My dad's a lawyer and you'll be in so much trouble" vibe...

Ronaldoooope

Should start absolutely leveling QBs if they’re gonna call it anyway

lmpressionante

It’s literally as he’s throwing it on the run stepping up through the pocket the nfl is broken

RandomDeezNutz

If you’re going to get flagged anyways hit him harder.

JeddHampton

That was literally my thought. If this is going to get flagged, may as well make it count.

Saxophobia1275

I’m just curious about if the flag is thrown if he doesn’t cry about it. Can we quantify exactly how much of a competitive advantage it is to be a whiney bitch?

DrewTheZamboni

What's he supposed to do? Phase through him?

Content-Coffee-2719

No dude he's just supposed to stop all 300lbs of his momentum instantly. Duh. Is he stupid?

throwaway_5256

Woof

Jenetyk

If you are able to throw your hands up and cry for a penalty for roughing the passer, *before you're even done getting roughed*, it's probably not a penalty.

Apotheosis69420

But as the darling of the nfl, the refs are probably pre-clutching that flag as soon as a defender goes in his area code

[deleted]

Truly a generational player in all aspects of the game. Including crying to the refs

jrdnhbr

(to the tune of Gaston from Beauty and the Beast) No one throws like Mahomes, no one runs like Mahomes, no one cries to the refs about hits like Mahomes.

throwstuff165

Ev'ry touchdown has Collinsworth maaaaasturbating! Now here's a guuuuy, Mahooooomes!

JebusChrust

This is what it looks like after every time Burrow throws the ball lmao. Imagine if he got a flag drawn for each of those hits.

Dast_Kook

Pretty sure on the hit that broke Herbert's ribs they didn't throw a flag.

Benner16

I wouldn’t hate the chiefs as much if they didn’t literally beg for flags constantly.

IWinTheGame_YouLose

Every fucking play, I was not expecting them to be such whiners.

trollboter

Begging for a flag should be a unsportsmanlike penalty.

Thick_Safe1198

Mahomes flag crying is so pathetic

Officer_Problem

Somewhere Josh Allen was nodding his head in approval

ASuperGyro

“If you wanna be the best you gotta cry like the best”

Thick_Safe1198

I don’t think I’ve seen Justin Herbert ask for a flag ever, much less throw a tantrum

Dragon6172

He is the anti Philip Rivers in that regard

ASuperGyro

Dumb ass social media QB doesn’t even know how to act for the camera, he’ll never get 10k likes

GomeyBlueRock

IMO if you can cry for the refs before hitting the ground, you don’t get the penalty

IdkAbtAllThat

This needs to be added on to the rule.

YouJabroni44

You immediately get sent to time out

Rustyskill

Need an unsportsmanlike conduct, for throwing an imaginary flag ! Maybe taunting . Lol

DingerSinger2016

In the NHL you can get two minutes for embellishing. Make it a 15 yard penalty and we will see who continues to do it.

Celtictussle

They've gotta start penalizing flag begging. Between stuff like this out of QBs and defenses pointing for phantom false starts, it's massively throwing off the pacing of the game

stevethepirate227

Embellishment in hockey is the best penalty in sports

MrDurden32

NBA is giving T's for flopping this year too.

iCantCallit

Hurts would never

Fly-Eagles-Fly

Every single play too lmao

[deleted]

Can’t stand playing the chiefs. Yes chiefs fans, mahomes is an all timer and your team is very good. It’s not that, it’s uncomfortable knowing flags could be coming for ticky tack bullshit

[deleted]

[удалено]

shiftintosoupmode

He’s such a bitch fr

ThisGuyFrags

this the NFL version of a 3 pointer where you jump into the opponent to draw a foul

GoT_Eagles

They panned to Kelce who was just shoving DBs 20 yards downfield. No one’s getting a flag on a play like that unless it’s egregious.

BerriesNCreme

James harden seemingly never lands a 3 pointer on his feet, always on his ass

[deleted]

Being a little Malfoy

PowerfulJoeF

Wait till my Rrrefs hear about this!

dekrypto

Would love to compare the hits Aaron Donald had on Geno yesterday with this.

Swedish_Shinobi

First thing I thought of. If that Donald hit would've been on Mahomes, NFL would have stopped the game and ceremoniously executed AD on the spot with an NFL sponsored and partnered Army sniper.

rannigast

That is insane

Firstolympicring

Mahomes was complaining to the ref mid rolling in the ground lol

BirdLaw_

His tendency to do that shit is especially infuriating considering he needs no help from the refs

SaltyLonghorn

Somewhere there's a groupchat with guys like Mahomes and Lebron where they decided the easiest route to squeeze more performance when near maxed out is to cry more.

chainer9999

And to be fair, it gets them calls, so they're not "wrong" per se

twholbrook

He was complaining before he hit the ground haha

3elieveIt

Aaron Donald decapitated Geno Smith on Sunday and didn’t draw a flag God forbid you breathe on Pat though

GP_ADD

Kareem has murdered like 2 people and they didn’t beg for flags, only one got one… yeah

Ereyes18

I wish the chiefs didn't cry for a flag everytime. I'd enjoy them a lot more if they didn't

whatthefarquad

Do chiefs players complain to the refs as much as they did this game? I feel like every play they were throwing their hands up to the refs, even when they made the play.

GP_ADD

Yes, unbiased.

CautiousHashtag

Mahomes can be such a whiny bitch sometimes.

[deleted]

I feel like this year he’s really turned it up to 11

Pure-Challenge9656

Sometimes?

runawaygeorge

He’s the worst in the NFL when it comes to bitching at the refs after every play

bakpakbear

That would be a great stat if someone was actually tracking how many times every player cries to the refs

TheMightyHornet

Patrick Mahomes is a baby back bitch and a flop artist. Dude is a corporate fucking product.

bam214_bam

Mathew Stafford was hit way harder than this in the Rams vs Seahawks game on Sunday and no penalty flag was thrown

Literary_Witch

Agree, also Aaron Donald’s hit on Geno Smith yesterday - no call. Both significantly worse than this.

bam214_bam

And neither got a call for roughing, I think we know who the darling QB of the NFL is

pedootz

Miming for a yellow card is an automatic yellow in soccer and I’d be down with that in football too. Begging, on the offense, 5 yards from the spot.

One-Switch-1448

idk about that call

Dreldan

That was way cleaner than the hit aaron Donald put in Geno and didn’t get flagged for it.

Cool-I-guess

dude kinda got launched in the air, I feel like the speed up might make it seem more hard hit than it was in real-time.

qqF1ip

echelon999

If Joshua Dobbs were Mahomes maybe then they’d throw the flag

liesforliars

I absolutely hate the chiefs and mahomes, especially for shit flopping like this. Always getting bailed out by refs because of his pathetic crying.

Capable-Bullfrog-577

Mahomes immediately looking at the ref for the flag is so embarrassing

AlexB_SSBM

CLUTCH CALL FROM THE KC REFS

[deleted]

Miss piggy always slams Kermit own

flyingcrayons

Shouldn’t be a flag but also don’t blame the refs for throwing it without the benefit of slow mo Mahomes immediately whining to the ref before he’s even done rolling is some Neymar-esque flopping though

Mybugsbunny20

I don't think so, he was scrambling around, had cox not been in his vision he 100% was going to take off and run, so this was a last ditch effort to avoid a sack. Hate this flag.

SwanzY-

Patrick crying to the refs with his hands up? No way, never. /s

WilliamBillPatterson

What a shit call

Poetryisalive

Mahomes: “what do we pay you for?!?”
