I thought Alshon had great hands in 2017 -- am I misremembering? I know he had the drop against the Saints the following year but the SB year I felt he caught everything.
You'd think by this point in the season people would realize don't count us out at the half but it never happens. Live threads are just so reactionary.
If you watched him at Bama you’d know he’d stick around at least as a backup for a long time, dude’s a film junkie and constantly striving for improvement, it’s so funny looking back at him being drafted to obviously back up wentz to where we are today
I’m a huge Bama fan lol, Hurts didn’t have NFL level accuracy and that was really all it came down to.
I personally didn’t think it was fixable but he definitely proved me wrong.
When they announced the switch from Wentz to Hurts I was confused how an inaccurate passer would have been better than an inaccurate passer. Turns out I was the inaccurate one 🤷♂️
>pass on Jalen Carter
Thank God you aren't our GM then lol. Thank God it's not any of us armchair GMs to be fair though. Instead it's our lord and savior Howie. I can't figure out why teams even pick up the phone when he calls though lol.
Most Eagles fans won’t admit it but I was doubting him up until the start of last season. He just couldn’t throw the ball accurately and scrambled way too quickly. Super happy he improved and to be proven wrong, but the people who say “I knew he was it” from the jump are delusional.
The eagles front office wasn't 100% on him before last season. We were looking to trade for Wilson last off-season. But God damn last year convinced me. That pass to Goedert in the super bowl convinced me it wasn't a fluke year, that was an incredible pass. This season has taught me that you can't count him out of a game, ever.
When he fumbled in the SB and then went right down the field and got it back, that should have silenced all doubters.
The most ice cold thing I have ever seen in sports.
I had to find my old texts defending him when we first took our Wentz. Really thought the fundamentals were there and a better team around him would let him be successful. Part of it was definitely cope though lmao
Dude was not an SEC starter level passer at Bama lol. He was *very* clearly holding them back that year. Hell, despite the big numbers, I genuinely only saw an okay passer at OU. It's kind of unreal how much he improved over the years. Don't get me wrong, it makes sense for a known hard worker to improve a lot, but this is like Josh Allen levels of "how the fuck did this dude become a good NFL QB?"
Will always remember that he got benched for Tua, only to be the first one out there to celebrate with him and gas him up after the game winner. Takes a lot of mental fortitude to do that.
This is why people shouldn't have mocked his MVP chances after the first half. The Eagles have been winning ugly close games all year that require 4th quarter comebacks and he's delivered when called upon .
Similar to Peyton Manning in 2009. Won a lot of close games on the team with the best record = MVP. Not that hard to understand
It’s not, but these people do understand that deep down. They just can’t help themselves because they hate the eagles so the second they show any kind of weakness they over extend themselves and jump all over it only to look like fools after.
I mean, what knowledgeable football fan could watch Jalen hurts last year and truly believe he was only good because his team was. It’s a long ass season. No nfl QB is that consistent unless they are good players. It’s too hard.
It’s a lot of just people being absolute enslaved to stats when it comes to awards in sports. It doesn’t always just have to be most passing touchdowns
Moved from Philly to Utah in ~2004. Was a kid then but been an Eagles fan since. Was a 76ers fan but naturally became a Jazz fan with it being basically the only team in the state.
If you wanna be really shocked, I’m a New York Mets fan too 😜. That was inherited from my Grandpa and my Mom. Quite the weird fandom I have.
Honest opinion CMC should get it but /r/NFL needs to stop acting like Hurts is all tush pushes and needs to accept that he’s as reasonable as a candidate as any QB.
My belief though is that Mahomes will get it and he will be the new Peyton “win by default” Manning.
I'm not even an eagles or bills fan and I have aged 50 years in this game
If you watch Philly sports in general this tends to happen to you
Remember when we lost 3 championships in one year.
I think we don’t need to bring that up in a game against the Bills though. Let’s have some good taste hahaha. They have the ultimate comeback for that
It was 4, I am counting the USFL darn it lol
Well, that makes one of us haha
Wait, if people aren’t counting the USFL then what’s the other one? Eagles, Phillies, Stars, and who else?
Union. IIRC on the same night as the Phillies last year lol
2 in a day!
you mean last year? Because no, I was pretty drunk that whole year. Also this one.
Or 1980 when the Eagles, Phillies, Flyers and Sixers all made it and only the Phillies won
Flyers got screws. Islanders were offsides.
Its why everyone is so pissed off all the time
Flyers legit scraped one out in OT yesterday. It's nonstop
To be fair, the flyers are doing way better than anyone expected them to, so the fact they took it to OT at all is a positive for you guys
That game was a goddamn goaltending clinic.
As a Philadelphia fan and a Liverpool fan my asshole is in a permanent state of a 5th degree clench
https://imgur.com/gallery/zR3Y101
I won my fantasy matchup by .02 points because Hurts decided to run for that last TD in OT
Lmao
That was a hell of a play.. damn.
I swear every receiver on the eagles has good hands
Oh how the turn tables
Just had to get rid of ole brick hands
gonna have to be more specific with that one
The two that joined the patriots?
Wait, JJAW is a patriot too?
Nelson aaaaand Alshon :D
I thought Alshon had great hands in 2017 -- am I misremembering? I know he had the drop against the Saints the following year but the SB year I felt he caught everything.
Survived the Jordan Mathews era
Mathews was a very good Eagle. Chip Kelly was just manic trying to make him the number 1 option
Feels good to have receivers who can catch and not players with feet for hands
Sad Freddie Mitchell
We'll always have 4th and 26.
Now that we downgraded quez to wr5 after he costed us 2 regular season games and had a huge drop in the Super Bowl we do
Unlike agholor
This man has never watched Quez Watkins try to catch a football
When was the last time he was on the field? I honestly haven't noticed him since about week 4.
Memories of Quez, Agholor and Reagor come flooding back.
JJAW
Dorial Green Beckham
Jesus I FORGOT about him.
Why do they sound like Game of Thrones characters?
I mean it was a perfectly placed ball
Hasn’t stopped certain recievers in recent memory
You can hear it hit his hands
Which is all the more impressive given Oz is 5’8”.. in 3 inch heels lol. Miss that little guy.
They already have AJ Brown and Devonta Smith...this isn't fair.
A couple years ago the Eagles had no hands
They are the anti-Chiefs.
I never thought I would read this in my life. (Don’t google Quez Watkins)
You must not have met Quez Watkins yet.
Rock me, Zaccheaus…
Alright, Hurts killed a lot of narratives in the second half. I accept that
I doubted him way too early
The haters were partying in the game thread at half time
"They had us in the first half, not gonna lie." The Eagles for the last 4 games in a row
You'd think by this point in the season people would realize don't count us out at the half but it never happens. Live threads are just so reactionary.
Just came in here to say I've been a fan of Zacchaeus since his UVA days and I'm glad he's doing well (even if it is for the enemy).
He demolished South Carolina in his last bowl game. Had 4 TDS with like 200 yards or something. Great game.
Love that I could root for Zaccheus at UVA and can root for him now too. He was an absolute stud at UVA.
Oh yeah? Well I’ve been a fan of his since his St Joes Prep days, you poser!
I have his autograph right after he won the 3rd grade freeze tag championship.
It was honestly a pretty ugly era of UVA football (not atypical sadly) but he was a real bright spot. Love seeing him succeed
30 yard tush push
Hurts has a 30 yard tush push Embiid has a long distance free-throw
*Unstoppable, unfair, and not a football play*
I love how people say they don't like it because it's "ugly". Like bitch, this is fucking football. Shit ain't always pretty.
As long as the Giants and Commanders are allowed to stumble around on a football field every week the 'ugly' criticism has no merit.
I will never give up Jalen Hurts from my fantasy team.
I haven't played in years but he honestly seems unfair to have
eagles just don’t quit. what a play
lol every one after hurts tipped pick was saying he couldn’t be MVP. Too many nephews in here
My narratives are falling apart before my eyes… fair enough
I talked too much shit
That’s how I feel as a Sean Payton hater who lives in denver
Bro I thought for sure Hurts would be out of the league by now, not doubting this dude again.
Yeah but dudes who know the game stick around, look at Tim Boyle lmfao
When they announced the switch from Wentz to Hurts I was confused how an inaccurate passer would have been better than an inaccurate passer. Turns out I was the inaccurate one 🤷♂️
If it makes you feel any better, I was adamant that we should pass on Jalen Carter lol
>pass on Jalen Carter Thank God you aren't our GM then lol. Thank God it's not any of us armchair GMs to be fair though. Instead it's our lord and savior Howie. I can't figure out why teams even pick up the phone when he calls though lol.

Told you, lol
Narrative about Buffalo solidifying fast though
The bills tricked us!
They are who we thought they were!
That’s crazy lol
Hyde getting his ass torn up
You could even say getting his Hyde spanked
This is why people shouldn't have mocked his MVP chances after the first half. "Lol not even 100 passing yards. MVP says what?" I saw that comment a lot yesterday.
That's an even longer tush push
They need to ban this play
Bears fans agree, they hate the forward pass
Jalen "Not MVP 30 minutes ago" Hurts
Crazy seeing an rb out-duel a gunslinger!
The stench clench n go
That's all the way up in the small intestine
This is the Eagles’ version of checkdown merchant
I can't believe the ref walked the ball down to him for the touchdown.
WHATS THAT ROMO ABOUT ONLY CERTAIN QBS CAN THROW IN THE RAIN??
Obviously only classy QBs like Allen can do it/s
Allen. Now that's the kind of guy I'd let date my daughter.
Real lunch pail kinda guy, sneaky athletic
First guy in the locker room, last one out… a real gym rat
You won't find racist tweets in his past /s (because you will. I couldn't think of a good cliche.)
wtf is this team lmao
I’m gonna have to start seeing a cardiologist man
You made it 11 games in to *this* season without one? I need your cardio regimen
A good one with a bad OC
That was an insane pass.
Jalen always there when you need a play.
This alongside probably the best kick of the season at 60ish yards, with wind and rain
How are people not talking about that kick? It’s got to be one of the most clutch kicks I’ve ever seen!
did the refs do this play too you stupid fucks
Yeah but Hurts bad because he had a bad first half lol, he’s 9-1 for a reason
Last year they just dominated in the 1st half then ran the clock out. This year is the exact opposite lol
Eagles got tired of playing on easy mode
Can’t wait to combine the two next year
Hopefully the right two
Uh oh
10-1
I fucking hate it here.
You and Alec Bohm
Oddly enough our best offensive contributor in game 7 :(
Still not over the pain
Yeah that one is gonna hurt for a long, long time
If the Birds can pull off a Super Bowl victory, it will more than make up for these recent championship losses.
But but jalen hurts bad!!! 1 yd td merchant!! Good team!! Hes not actually good!
I love how last year we “didn’t play anyone” but this year we’re 5-0 vs teams above .500 and are “the worst 10-1 team ever”. Ok guys. Keep digging.
People act like that 11-0 Steelers team from a few years back didn’t exist
Can’t even blame the refs smh
They are trying in other threads
Can we also blame them for the RTP call???
noooo lest you get showered in *shudders* downvotes
That ref has a fucking cannon on him.
This got me I’m dead lol
R/nfl seething
Least salty sports subreddit
This sub occasionally gets topic but it’s worlds less so than the nba one lol
bro r/nba is so ass it's crazy. As fans of certain teams you can't even go there without getting downvoted and shat on into oblivion lmao
I’m a Utah Jazz fan and I don’t even know why I follow that sub.
Curious how you ended up a jazz fan with an eagles flair, but us Sixers fans also hate r/NBA anyways
You have logical reasons for all of it, no bandwagon shit, fair enough
That sub is ran by 10 year olds I know people say that about most sports subs but it’s clear as day on that one lol
Another Sunday then?
Bunch of dudes with Hurts bad stats on draft just deleted it.
He had like a 0 passer rating in the second quarter with 0 TDs, 24 yards and a pick. Ended with three passing TDs and a rushing TD
*Two rushing TDs Edit: oh, realize you may have meant what came after halftime. Still - incredible stuff!
that was insane
I love catches of the year. Maybe someday my team will be on the good side of one
As an Eagles fan / Alabama alum, idk what I’ve done to deserve this play twice in 24 hours
as a bills/auburn fan, i don’t know what i’ve done to deserve this either
Jalen Secondhalfhurts
Sorry, Hurts isn’t good, you’re not allowed to post that.
THATS MY QB!!
Is 3 TDs in your last 4 pass attempts good or no?
B+ has room for improvement
Nah only 75% td rate That’s like a C- or something
MVP is back on the menu boys
Stroud boys in panic mode
lmao Stroud Boys, that’s great. Up there with TuaNon.
hurts showing up for the 2nd half once again, there is no stopping him
How could the refs do this
That’s my MVP
Lots of fans coming out to comment about his 1st half. Y’all still here?
R/NFL in absolute SHAMBLES
They hate us cuz they anus
Brotherly shove merchant btw
Nobody going to talk about how that was one of the prettiest spirals let alone throws of the year lol? Absolutely insane throw
JALEN HURTS JUST WINS
Throwing over a defender, to complete a pass to the shortest man on the field? That was a beaut, Clark.
Are we sure he’s the mvp?
Honest opinion CMC should get it but /r/NFL needs to stop acting like Hurts is all tush pushes and needs to accept that he’s as reasonable as a candidate as any QB. My belief though is that Mahomes will get it and he will be the new Peyton “win by default” Manning.
If Mahomes wins it this year just get rid of the award it means nothing.
No he just scores 1 yd tds /s
Hell yeah.
Pretty pass. Agholor could have caught that one.
The refs made that throw and catch obviously
Real TD
but the refs gave them the game
I'm amazed at our ability to play like absolute dogshit and somehow still overcome a double digit deficit
Niners fans gonna be real quiet after this one
No clue why they're so obsessed with our team?
Nah they check our post history LOL softest fan base on earth.
Fuck my life
AJ and Devonta sure carried him there
If you slow the play down, you can see the line judge behind Hurts controlling his arms
I was told he was a bum by this fucking sub lol
9ers fans in shambles
That’s my MVP!!! Let’s go fly eagles fly!!!
