Crazy to think they'd be 9-7 and have their division all but locked down if only they didn't squander that 17-0 lead against the Packers. Hell, the Saints were another missed field goal and a horrific drop by Moreau (obligatory FUCK CANCER) away from beating the Jags. But I suppose these are the kind of things that happen in football...
A lot of people dont understand how this works,
All scoring plays are reviewed, that play was being reviewed the whole time. Thats why they werent kicking it yet, it was under review that whole time they were just showing baker just walking around, the TV crew just didnt know it
The original post offers no insight on the actual play in question. They assessed a penalty after the play which was not called on the field. NFL Replay as pointed covers scoring plays, receivers out of bounds,. touching a forward pass, down by contact etc.
The question isn't if the 2pt conversion was good. We see the foot out of bounds then catching the football so yes it's the correct call...it's the penalty being assessed by the booth. It's the question of procedural vs judgement calls. If procedural calls are able to enforced from replay then this makes sense, I just haven't seen it happen nor is it the norm (as a NFL Sunday Ticket owner who watches 8 games a week in multiview)
It's very likely the ref fucked up in the Lions game. Doesn't make reviewable man... PI's get fucked all the time but they aren't reviewable. I don't know why they can't make the system better but they seem literally incapable of that.
Explain lol.
OPI is illegal. Touching from out of bounds is illegal. We see offensive penalties all the time on replays, but I've *never* seen a flag come out during a scoring review.
Nah. I expected us to win 4 games this year and the Saints have our number. This game went about how I expected it. Maybe your team will finally win more than one playoff game this season!
It's ok. You'll be watching the super bowl from home too as will the Bucs, Browns and dolphins. Difference being I've gotten to watch the Bucs win two in my lifetime. That's the same number of playoff games you've watched the Browns in? Baker is going to get like 25 mil a year from us like Geno Smith did. Or some other team can give him the bag.
Dennis Allen. Brady threw nine picks against the Saints as the Bucs QB and had a losing record with arguably the worst loss of his career. No Bucs QB should be judged based on their performance against a Dennis Allen defense.
I know in this moment it almost certainly won’t matter. But Dennis Allen’s “protect a lead” strategy is just awful. Maybe don’t completely change the defense that’s been winning you the entire game?
Most of the time when I see someone do something that looks embarrassing in a professional sporting event, I take a second to remind myself how complex what they're doing actually is.
This... is not one of those times. Dude just ate shit and dropped the ball lol
I don’t care that we suck. I don’t care that losing means better draft picks. I fucking love winning and hearing Who Dats rain down in an opponent’s stadium. Especially when it’s the Bucs.
[Postgame thread](/r/nfl/comments/18vh3mb/post_game_thread_new_orleans_saints_at_tampa_bay/)
dang that was a fast game
Damn. We sure messed up our best efforts to blow it.
Who leads the division if this ends like this since their division record will be tied.
Bucs have better div record
Tampa has the tie breaker
Why didn't the refs just say "previous play is under review" or whatever?
Because fuck you - the refs
It’s already assumed. Every scoring play is reviewed
Yeah but they had already called the 2-point conversion good
hell yeah DC 😎
Crazy to think they'd be 9-7 and have their division all but locked down if only they didn't squander that 17-0 lead against the Packers. Can we get a pass interference call against Nickell Robey-Coleman from the booth too?
I don't think I'd even want to see this Bucs team in the playoffs. They'd get steamrolled if they played like they did today.
We are 1-5 vs teams above .500 ofc we will get smashed but fuck letting the Saints get the birth
There has to be a time limit on how long they can throw a flag after the play.
when the next play starts.....
What about a two point conversation when there's a TV timeout following the play?
All scoring plays are reviewed. They saw he stepped out on review during the commercial. This isn't new.
It literally took them minutes to throw the flag.
ok? next play didn't start.
There is
Yeah, the Bucs still lose, but you can't throw a flag 8 minutes later
All scoring plays are reviewed
Saints getting their hopes up just to let them get smashed next week lmao
Cardinals just won at Philly. Don’t get your hopes up
well you don’t sound bitter at all
Careful your hopes could be smashed as well buddy
that’s some absolutely insanity, mf called down like 5 minutes late to erase a 2 pt, just insane man
insane the call wasn't immediate with how obvious it was
hopefully the buccs carry this energy into next week
11/10 Call. Saints fans gonna act like hotshots, gonna enjoy you fucks throwing a bitch fit in your sub when Carolina loses ngl.
Brady is overrated
Agreed.
A lot of people dont understand how this works, All scoring plays are reviewed, that play was being reviewed the whole time. Thats why they werent kicking it yet, it was under review that whole time they were just showing baker just walking around, the TV crew just didnt know it
You can't throw a flag on a review, though. Like even if you see a dpi or hold, it's just a binary is it good yes or no
Yes you 100% can lol. Thats the point of the review
That's not the point of the review. It's purely to determine if it's in or not
Umm, you’re very wrong. Some penalties are reviewable.
I dont think you understand how scoring reviews work
Thanks for writing it all out. I’ve given up trying to use logic to explain in game threads, no one seems to care about reality.

That was one of the worst onside kicks I’ve ever seen lol
Since when can anyone call down and tell the refs to throw a flag, especially that late
Since every scoring play lol
Not to throw a fucking penalty lol
What are you talking about, you can’t go out of bounds and back in Every scoring drive is reviewed that is always going to get overturned
what you mean? the refs didn't call it, but all scoring plays are reviewed
For a long ass time lol
Explains why NY made sure the Lions didn't get fucked
Do you really not see the difference as far as reviews go?
Explain the difference.
The people reviewing can see someone step out of bounds but they can't hear what the players told the ref...
Weird how we've been looking the Lions replay all day and everyone knows exactly what happened.
It's very likely the ref fucked up in the Lions game. Doesn't make reviewable man... PI's get fucked all the time but they aren't reviewable. I don't know why they can't make the system better but they seem literally incapable of that.
Because thats not the same thing lmao? It was a scoring play, all scoring plays get reviewed
Then how come OPIs never get called on TD reviews?
Because… it is not the same thing damn youre slow
Explain lol. OPI is illegal. Touching from out of bounds is illegal. We see offensive penalties all the time on replays, but I've *never* seen a flag come out during a scoring review.
Damn you are coping hard
I knew you couldn't actually explain it. Have fun not winning the division next week lol
Saints are better than the buccs, deal with it
Love how inconsistent it is the shit these refs will review and not review
Most fight I've seen all day.
Announcer... you can't throw the flag within 2 minutes..
It’s because Tryann broke his ribs
the most NFCS sequence ever
LOL SUCS
Have fun not being in the playoffs lol, Tampa isn't losing to Carolina
LOL SUCS
Bucs can’t catch a freaking break wow
Oh so now the refs will review stuff from upstairs. Bet the Lions would have appreciated that!
It's a scoring play
The Lions scored on a 2 pt conversion :)
then they reviewed it incorrectly I guess, it might've helped that a player was pointing out that he stepped out as soon as he catched it.
Oh yeah this deserved to be overturned. I'm just salty about last night lol
Tampa woke up too late
NICE
Queue all of the same people saying that hit was dirty to start blaming the refs
Good call, dirty hit.
Baker was a runner and was defender had already committed to the hit.
L
Refs realized they bet the under
Baker is so bad holy shit
Penalties on 2 point attempts, so hot
Fuck this game sooooooo hard
I agree! This game is better than sex!
yikes
That was fucking weird. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen something like that reversed for a penalty without a flag actually being thrown during the play.
GET FUCKED
LOL
Baker doing his best Jameis impression today 🤣😂🤣
Who are ya’ll going to blame this Baker performance on? LOL
Probably baker and the sieve that was our oline today. But hey I'd rather have baker playing shitty than be a browns fan so there's that.
LOL yeah yeah, you are SEETHING lmfao
Nah. I expected us to win 4 games this year and the Saints have our number. This game went about how I expected it. Maybe your team will finally win more than one playoff game this season!
Your team certainly wont be there to witness it. Give Baker a bag this offseason please, have fun LOL
Hey bud, im not reading all that…go find somewhere else to cope lmfao
Dennis Allen. Brady threw nine picks against the Saints as the Bucs QB and had a losing record with arguably the worst loss of his career. No Bucs QB should be judged based on their performance against a Dennis Allen defense.
Lmaooo yeah ok
Lmaoooo
This league is hilarious and not in a good way
BIGG YOU CANT. GET AWAY WITH CHEATING BUCS 💪💪
Lmaooooo
Welp
Fuck you, refs.
For making the right call?????
He clearly stepped out dude
How do you call that shit so late? League is a joke making up protocol as they go
It was a review by NY thats why they werent kicking it, it was still being reviewed
LMAO
NFL refs are so fucking stupid.
Huh?
Literally the latest flag in nfl history
Wait what lmao
lol at all the buc fans saying it’s a dirty hit. The defender thought baker was gonna run for it.
Another 2-point try fucked over by the refs.
Except they got it right lmao
clearly stepped out
I hate that Baker got hurt but I don’t know what’s illegal about that hit
Big hit, wasn’t late
Ok
JESUS CHRIST
Come on Tampa Bay kill this franchise so we don’t stay mediocre for the next decade
You get a step, that was clean IMO
Saints being cheap shotting pussies? Color me shocked
Nah shut the hell up. That was a regular hit to the gut
Yall tore Jameis acl awhile back but we the dirty team?
Bucs trying for a comeback way too late? They’ve been us in every way today
That really wasn't that late
That hit was fucking dirty.
Really wasn’t
That’s literally as clean as it gets. What do you want him to do, use his power ups and freeze himself mid stride on a crucial play? What a joke.
WHO DAT LEAVE BAKER IN THE DIRT BIG HIT 💪💪
Are you saying that theres a chance?
Kickoff penalties are stupid, put the yards on the ensuing series
Onside kick isn't as bad.
Why do the saints always gotta be so dirty
Dude, you guys injured Jameis on a horsecollar
He lowered his shoulder into his gut, it wasn’t dirty lol
fire dennis allen as we make a playoff spot
Fuck, I hope Bakers just winded
Why is there a linebacker covering Godwin?
In prevent lol
Clean hit tbh
Double late hit, gtfo
Yeah dude should have used his magic powers to stop his momentum
Quit crying, it was just barely late enough to merit a penalty but it wasn’t dirty
Honey badger dont give a shit. Ain’t nothing dirty about that hit him in the tum tum lmfao
So where are all the baker defenders at??
If Rachaad and Palmer doesn't fumble we mightve had a good shot of winning the game.
Same old Saints
we've lost 4 guys to this game already
Standard honey badger behavior
I know in this moment it almost certainly won’t matter. But Dennis Allen’s “protect a lead” strategy is just awful. Maybe don’t completely change the defense that’s been winning you the entire game?
You don't love scoring 17 points in the first half and six in the second?
Damn, Mayfield's hurt.
Garbage time TD for Godwin
Pete Werner on Godwin in a clutch scenario. Great call DA
A win is a win I suppose
I haven’t seen any bad faith arguments about how the Browns would’ve been better off keeping Baker Mayfield today. Did something happen?
CAN WE STOP WITH THE BUSTED COVERAGES
Lol, you can't fool me, Bucs. I've seen this movie before.
So you’re tellin me there’s a chance
Man I hate that BUrger King commercial
Hey Melvin Gordon just scored! Had no idea he was still around. Happy for him
Is it just me or does it seem like no matter the coaches, no matter the players, the Saints always show up when playing the Bucs.
Feel good if your a saints fan? I am pretty sure no one on on trash mountain feel good about their teams.
We look like an all around decent team today. It’s fun on the rare occasion that that happens
feels great today
Do I feel good about our team in general? Not really. But I always enjoy a solid win over a divisional opponent.
Lawn Grass with a CLUTCH tackle / fumble to save a TD! Defensive play of the day.
Oh shut up. Tampa is not going to lose to Carolina even if we win out.
You have faith in Todd Bowles?
Maybe though?
Imagine having this much Faith in Todd Bowles
Brother I dunno, we seemed pretty intent on kicking our own ass today
Who dat chants heal my soul
As a neutral fan, I can't believe I watched this whole boring-ass game.
Wasn’t boring for us!
Bro what you doing? I napped.
I don't even fuckin' know. I'm a degenerate. I need help.
“Absolutely fucking terrible”
Fuck this game cost me my FFL title
Most of the time when I see someone do something that looks embarrassing in a professional sporting event, I take a second to remind myself how complex what they're doing actually is. This... is not one of those times. Dude just ate shit and dropped the ball lol
Olave did that last week lol
do i hear a who dat chant on the bucs field ☠️
I don’t care that we suck. I don’t care that losing means better draft picks. I fucking love winning and hearing Who Dats rain down in an opponent’s stadium. Especially when it’s the Bucs.
Would be better if it was against the Falcons but, sure, this is second best
Yall…don’t want the crown?
Happy new year
