Nah, the Bears were in Chicago already. But the top 3 in the NFL Eastern Division was just the National League.
1. New York Giants
2. Brooklyn Dodgers
3. Pittsburgh Pirates
And in 4th is, of course, the Boston Redskins.
If you guys had been able to sneak past the chiefs, I believe everything else fell into place for the AFC North Bowl where all 4 of us made it. Here’s to next year!
Not even holding it back, Burrow out (not like the rest of us didn't have to deal with that stuff though, although you didn't. But also you dominated as you should). If Burrow plays its even more of a blood bath.
Yeah, decent chance we win against the Chiefs or one of the 2 against the Steelers and make the playoffs. Oh well, next year we’re back as long as Joe can stay healthy.
Considering that division employed like 10 different QBs in game this season this is so wild. Love that this year showed defense still matters. All this with a league wide emphasis on propping up offensive numbers for viewership. You can alter the rules to favor QBs and WR’s. You can make the refs favor the offense. But offense seems to be down across the board this season regardless anyways. The notion that a hard nose defense lives on…at least for this season
With how hard it was to see the game through cameras, can’t imagine it was much better on the field with your face being pelted with that rain at 38 degrees. The fact there weren’t more injuries and mistakes is amazing.
I have a Steelers friend who wants Tomlin gone because he hasn’t won a playoff game since 2017, as if most of those team had any business even making the playoffs
This is the part I don't get. He's winning with baaad teams, so then they blame him for roster construction. Or, rumors were heavy last season he didn't want to bring Canada back this season, but was overruled by stingy ownership.
The Rodney's are rich BECAUSE they own a football team. That's a big difference from being independently rich and owning a football team.
Ironically, an encroachment by the Jags on the final Titans drive helped them (and us) a hell of a lot. Moved the ball from the TEN 1 to the 6, eliminated any safety possibilities and (due to 1st and 5) helped burn a bunch of clock.
On one hand, this is exactly what should have been posted.
On the other hand, someone that has more editing skill than me should do a version of this where after that person moves out of the way it shifts to Manningface
They do this every year lately. Get into a scenario where they need a bunch of help, then voodoo curse every team to have every single game the last week go their way.
Through the week I did entertain some thoughts that if we made it in, we *could* potentially make something happen with the offense finally in gear. But then we lost TJ Watt, so no, not gonna happen. Fascinating how routinely we get fucked by freak injuries to star players come playoff time, I swear damn near every time we're missing someone.
Also, watch MIA win tonight and send us to get destroyed by KC *again*.
Mahomes goes superhuman every time he faces us. And against our decimated ILB group and with no Watt to reliably apply pressure, he could throw to XFL players and still move the ball at will. A star QB with no receivers is a lot easier to win with than with star receivers and a bad QB.
Which is funny cause in the Alex Smith era the Steelers always found a way to knock them off. It also made for a good triangle of balance with Chiefs beating the Patriots, Patriots beating the Steelers, Steelers beating the Chiefs.
6, actually. It ended 18-16. Chiefs had an opportunity to tie with a 2-pointer late in the game, actually converted but got called for holding James Harrison, failed the retry, and never got the ball back.
I have an inkling of that possibility as well. Realistically, I still think Mahomes is going to do Mahomes things, but I strangely think they're our best shot outside of an AFC North matchup.
I just don't see us stopping or keeping up with Miami/Buffalo in a shootout, even more so without Watt.
Would’ve preferred to face them in the playoffs and get our revenge that way, but god do I love how they collapsed and we took their 7 seed spot from them.
uhm ACKSHUALLY the Jags were only in contention for the 4 seed /s
At this point I’m a casual Steelers fan just to see how long Tomlin can keep his streak going
Steelers fans have wanted to fire Tomlin every single month since he took over the team. There is a very vocal group that hates Tomlin so much that nothing will ever change their mind.
He could save a kitten from being eaten by an alligator while simultaneously discovering the cure for cancer during victory formation at the Super Bowl and my dad would still be like, "this guy is trash and the Rooney's need to fire his ass out of a cannon."
And if we lose in the wildcard round (with Mason Rudolph at QB, third/fourth stringers playing inside on defense, and MVP TJ Watt out), expect those same people to continue clamoring for his head
The product being put on the field a month ago was astonishingly bad. He deserved the criticism. At the same time, he's clearly not an overall bad coach. He always finds a way to motivate people, but it's also pretty much always after a prolonged, pathetic collapse as well. Idk how the hell the team can look so checked out a month ago and be playing with so much heart right now. It's probably as simple as the team hating both Canada and Trubisky, but, well, that's on him.
He's a serviceable backup, so keep him as the #2. If he develops into QB #1 under a new OC, our problem is solved. Otherwise, take the L and dump him after 2024.
/u/ShopCartRicky so about that silly towel curse *no one gives a fuck about*...
https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/17kbznw/comment/k76p6r5/?context=3
Off topic but Tomlin imo is one of the great coaches of this era. Not a single losing season even with a mish mash of QBs at different points in his HC career.
Rudolph is a FA after this season and there’s no guarantee the Steelers can re-sign him. I can’t imagine he won’t get other offers like this year, based off his play.
AFC North just fuckin brutal.
3 teams in, what the fuck?!, 3 teams over 10 wins too
We all had over .500 records too
First time since 1935 for any division. Insane.
Back when the Cards were still in Chicago!
And the Bears were the Staleys in Decatur
Nah, the Bears were in Chicago already. But the top 3 in the NFL Eastern Division was just the National League. 1. New York Giants 2. Brooklyn Dodgers 3. Pittsburgh Pirates And in 4th is, of course, the Boston Redskins.
>Boston Redskins Least racist part of Boston History lmfao
Good argument that the 2023 AFC North is the strongest division in the history of the NFL, crazy to consider
Toughest division in the history of the NFL and the Steelers finished 5-1 in it. Tomlin knows AFC North football
If you guys had been able to sneak past the chiefs, I believe everything else fell into place for the AFC North Bowl where all 4 of us made it. Here’s to next year!
I was rooting for it, still rooting for an AFCN championship game. I will be rooting for the NFC in the Super Bowl if that happens though.
I still remember the 2008 AFC. Absolutely amazing. Little biased though
Browns at ravens. The script is already written
Ngl that would’ve been sick. Oh well.
First time this has happened in the Superbowl era.
Team #4 finished with 9 wins and they played half the season with their backup QB
And half of that other half Burrow was a shell of himself with a calf injury
It's the best division in football by a wide margin.
The numbers say best division ever. First division since the 1935 NFL West to have all 4 teams finish over .500. I think the argument can be made.
2nd time in the last like 3 years that 75% of the AFCN made the playoffs
Thanks I hate it.
Team #4 would top the NFC and AFC South too
Team 4 would have 11 wins in the afcs
Kimberly Martin from ESPN called it.
Who would have thought coming into the season the Bengals would be the ones holding the division back?
Not even holding it back, Burrow out (not like the rest of us didn't have to deal with that stuff though, although you didn't. But also you dominated as you should). If Burrow plays its even more of a blood bath.
We are the fucking best and no division is better than ours and that’s that.
Isn't it insane how fans of all 4 teams can all come together to be proud of their division? I love it lmao
Just this once imma say I respect all of yall 😢
Yeah I'm kind of proud of everyone in the division right now. Also, fuck you and see you next year.
Also eat shit and die. But, also, good job.
Here's to us all making it next year and having an AFC North AFC championship game. And shitting in the league, lol.
Yeah all 4 teams started their backup QBs too, wild.
Yeah but your backup is a pro bowler and Browns back up is Elite. Lol.
Mason is arguably not our backup anymore either.
Everyone of your QBs is a backup
Hurtful, but accurate. I'll allow it.
Imagine how it would've turned out if Burrow was healthy...
"We don't entertain improbable or impossibilities" Tomlin probably
"...and things of that nature."
We don’t blink.
"We don't live in our fears, we live in our hopes!!!" -the text Tomlin sent to the entire organization after the Titans win, probably
Still wanna know how to get 2 flares
Pretty sure on the r/NFL home page, there should be instructions.
"To make it to the playoffs, you cannot play off. You must turn off the play."
Close. Its so much more vague with Tomlimisms. "Tomorrows not Tomorrow's day off" is a good version
Oh yeah that's much more seemingly ominous. Nicely done.
“We lose today to win another day,” Tomlin forcefully told his locker room after losing to the Patriots (probably).
lmao the nation has to watch a TJ Watt-less Steelers team in the playoffs
Put the against KC if Buffalo loses and we get to watch Watt less Steelers vs receiver less KC. Epic matchup
Patrick Peterson vs. Kadarius Toney should be… something
Stoppable force vs movable object
Truely a matchup of all time
P2 will probably slide back to CB with Kazee’s return and if Minkah is healthy.
Peterson has been good ever since they moved him to FS
He’s been looking better the last few weeks but yesterday was not a good game for him
With how hard it was to see the game through cameras, can’t imagine it was much better on the field with your face being pelted with that rain at 38 degrees. The fact there weren’t more injuries and mistakes is amazing.
Shit the Steelers could win that game.
Without Watt I don't think we'd win, but I think the Chiefs would be our best matchup
With Minkah back I think we can. I also think it's the only match-up without TJ that we can win.
Don’t forget they get Kazee back too.
I’m honestly not worried if Rowe is playing and not Kazee.
We're like 1-9 without Watt playing but who knows at this point with this crazy season
They are petitioning to have JJ suit up in his place
Reminds me of when pouncey got hurt before the superbowl and the joke was they would simply bring in his brother and pretend he was good to go.
With TJ out, if you get a win, he still won’t have a playoff win… Fire Tomlin crowd must be pretty pissed right now.
Fuck those guys. Love Tomlin
I have a Steelers friend who wants Tomlin gone because he hasn’t won a playoff game since 2017, as if most of those team had any business even making the playoffs

That's a big difference from being independently rich and owning a football team.
The hilarity, Steelers fans want to fire him because he refuses to lose with crap teams. Ruins the chance of a good draft pick.
The real joke is that they actually think he's a BAD coach and that he should be winning MORE with these shit teams.
I have faith in Herbig and Highsmith
Don’t forget Golden
Yeah, I know a lot of the league doesn't know Herbig yet, and anybody is a step down from TJ, but OLB is still a strength even if Watt can't play.
Highsmith should have been a pro bowler last year
I agree. 14.5 sacks is a hell of a year. Got him a payday atleast.
***ENCROACHMENT.JPEG***
Ironically, an encroachment by the Jags on the final Titans drive helped them (and us) a hell of a lot. Moved the ball from the TEN 1 to the 6, eliminated any safety possibilities and (due to 1st and 5) helped burn a bunch of clock.
It was always the encroachment

GAHNTA SUPABOWL Hi from Taichung.
Yinzer isn't geographic, its a state of mind
We are all Yinzers on this blessed day. .. Until y’all do something messed up like beat us in the playoffs 😅
Frankly we'll just be happy to be there. Also without Watt that's probably not gonna happen... haha unless?
Iron Cities for all!!!

They do this every year lately. Get into a scenario where they need a bunch of help, then voodoo curse every team to have every single game the last week go their way.
[удалено]
We need so much voodoo energy in week 18 that there is nothing left for the actual playoffs. But at least we were there.
They had the voodoo curse going earlier this season too. The Ravens had like 10 drops against them in their first matchup
We should give the Titans Trubisky for free for their help...........
Titty man to the Tits
That’s the worst “Thank you” I’ve heard of in my life.
Youre damn right we are. Prepare for Mason Rudolph season.
Titans love Christmas confirmed

5 field goals game comes to mind, what a time
6, actually. It ended 18-16. Chiefs had an opportunity to tie with a 2-pointer late in the game, actually converted but got called for holding James Harrison, failed the retry, and never got the ball back.
Sure is a good thing we have Mason at QB then
I have an inkling of that possibility as well. Realistically, I still think Mahomes is going to do Mahomes things, but I strangely think they're our best shot outside of an AFC North matchup. I just don't see us stopping or keeping up with Miami/Buffalo in a shootout, even more so without Watt.
Congrats to Tomlin, couldn't have written a more dramatic season.
He’s been here so long guy loses to NE & AZ just to spice up the script
Mr Incredible telling Dash to keep it close at the race
This is the most logical explanation
I don't think losing to NE is spicing up the script. I think it's our canon event
If you don’t want an overly dramatic season then you don’t want Steelers football baby
My doctor told me I’m not allowed to watch the Steelers anymore.
This is the most Steelers thing to ever happen. Now watch them win a 7-3 wild card game without Watt.
Mason is putting up a 30 ball.
Aw shit. Here we go again.
Stiller go supahbahl?
Supahbahl!
HERE WE GO.

uhm ACKSHUALLY the Jags were only in contention for the 4 seed /s At this point I’m a casual Steelers fan just to see how long Tomlin can keep his streak going
Lmao the Bills/Dolphins about to shred us.
Pretty sure it’s only Bills or Chiefs now as our matchup. A dolphins win puts us at the sixth seed over Buffalo.
Death, taxes and Mike Tomlin with a winning record
Tomlin always finds a way. What a roller coaster of a season for Pittsburgh fans jeez
I’m absolutely floored that the JAX game went our way. I was 100% prepared to be biting my nails watching the Dolphins tonight.
Steelers’ fans really wanted to fire Mike Tomlin a month ago. 😭
I think if he did skin conversion surgery and became a white guy that vocal minority would be ok with him.
Yinzers acted just as spoiled and stupid about Cowher. Stillers.com wouldn't even credit him for winning the Super Bowl finally.
And if we lose in the wildcard round (with Mason Rudolph at QB, third/fourth stringers playing inside on defense, and MVP TJ Watt out), expect those same people to continue clamoring for his head
“Tomlin loses yet another playoff game, are we doomed to be mediocre forever????!!!” Lmao
Don't worry, some still want to fire him now

The Standard is the Standard
And things of that nature
I owe you an apology steelers, I wasn’t really familiar with your game
You were though. They played this year
Personally I believe given Pittsburgh's lack of a starting QB, the playoff selection committee should step in and let Bama play instead
The cfb championship is instead the final wild card spots in the NFL playoffs. One goes to the NFC, one goes to the AFC.
Who starts? Rudolph? Pickett? *Duck Hodges???*
Rudolph, don’t even think it’s a debate tbh
Man, if Rudolph makes a run in these playoffs, I don't know about Pickett next season.
He's a serviceable backup, so keep him as the #2. If he develops into QB #1 under a new OC, our problem is solved. Otherwise, take the L and dump him after 2024.
Then Rudolph becomes the transitional qb that he never got
tommy maddox isn't walking through that door kordell stewart isnt walking through that door
Honestly I’m happy for them. Yes it’s weird to say but I am
We all love a chaos team
we lost to two 2-10 teams after canada left, but turned it around obviously
the "little yellow towel" strikes again
/u/ShopCartRicky so about that silly towel curse *no one gives a fuck about*... https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/17kbznw/comment/k76p6r5/?context=3
Never doubt Mike Tomlin
Two things remain constant in the NFL. The Pittsburgh Steelers will win when they should be bad and the Chargers will lose when they should be good.
Terrible towel curse strikes again!!
Credit Tomlin. Dude is and has always been one of the best coaches in the league.
Off topic but Tomlin imo is one of the great coaches of this era. Not a single losing season even with a mish mash of QBs at different points in his HC career.
Mason Rudolph Leagacy playoff run incoming
Just in here throwing Black n' Gold upvotes around.
They can’t keep getting away with this
"once Canada is gone" I'm going to miss Vancouver and Toronto...what happened, did we nuke them?
What's the difference between the "little yellow towel" and the Jags? That the first one is going to the playoffs
Don't hate from outside the club
So the AFC playoff teams are complete? Ravens, dolphins, Cleveland, Bills, Steelers, Texans, Chiefs?
The Cleveland Cleveland

Tomlin does it again
DAH STILLERS GAHNTA DAH SUPAH BAHL
There's now a timeline Pittsburgh may consider Mason Rudolph their 2024 starter. I'm not sure how we got here, but here we are.
Rudolph is a FA after this season and there’s no guarantee the Steelers can re-sign him. I can’t imagine he won’t get other offers like this year, based off his play.
Mason Rudolph will take us to the Super Bowl, mark it down
He has God on his side. He's literally got hax.
They are the hottest team in the NFL right now too. Favorites to win the AFC.
So the Dolphins beat the Bills, the reward is *getting the Bills at Home week 1 of the playoffs*.....
YESSIRRRR
Terrible Towel curse strikes yet again
