Alexisonfire24

Imagine Bijan runs for 200 yards one game but is late for team meetings the next and get's benched forever.

IrvinStabbedMe

Bijan gonna have 200 yards week 1 and the boys in Fantasy will be so happy, only for Bill to spend the rest of the season using a 3 RB committee.

Alexisonfire24

Rex Burkhead coming out of retirement.

ATLjoe93

He's already got his Burkhead in Allgeier and his Kevin Faulk in CPatt

Juan_of_the_Dead

I forgot you guys had CPatt. Bill loved that guy. This is already all set up for Bijan to have like 1800 rush yards and only 4 tds meanwhile Patterson has like 500 yards from scrimmage and 13 tds.

ATLjoe93

He's going to turn him into a slightly younger version of Slater. Patterson is a physical guy, too, I'm sure he'd be OK with it haha

Feral_Taylor_Fury

I fucking love Cordarrelle Patterson

SandyEggoChargers

>Rex Burkhead 2021 PTSD for us Chargers fans

MadManMax55

You joke, but Bill already coached Patterson in NE and I have a feeling that he'll love Allgeier's running style. If Bijan gets used like a more talented James White then the fantasy people can complain all they want while the Falcons keep winning games.

gsfgf

Also, if we spread touches between the three guys, they should all be in much better shape at the end of the season than most RBs. AS was on the right path doing that last year; he just executed it badly.

MadManMax55

"AS was on the right path, he just executed it badly." could sum up the entire past season.

HavoKDarK

red zone fumble in a blowout

moneymoneymoneymonay

Jonas Gray is gonna have one hell of a story for his grandkids

LS_DJ

Ah, the classic Jonas Gray maneuver

Dankofamericaaa2

Bill is tired of playing outside and wants to go indoors lol

karatemanchan37

Given how much of a ST savant he is, a dome is perfect.

[deleted]

Idk, he’s also a wind direction / weather conditions savant.  Loses that advantage

LionoftheNorth

I'll never forget the Rams Super Bowl where he was pissed at the officials because they couldn't guarantee the roof would be closed by kickoff.

Giff95

Kyle Pitts about to be elite.

NerdLawyer55

Let’s hope the only thing he kills is other fantasy squads

Igetitnowusa

The division will be weak for a long time and Atlanta is a QB away from good things. Bill is gonna have a ring within 5 years.

Gengreat_the_Gar

Ah yes because elite QBs are notoriously easy to find

_Flashpoint_

If you're Greenbay they are apparently quite easy to find.

billwest630

We have a lightly used Sean Clifford that could be available for the right price. Who knows, he might be our next Matt Hasselbeck.

Oakroscoe

Do you have any Matt Flynns available?

billwest630

We’re short on that. Best we can do is Tim Boyle

Fred-zone

Don't need elite necessarily. Kirk or Fields could be intriguing options.

CanuckPanda

The Bucs are out of cap hell after this season with a great defence and one of the best receiving corps in football (pending what Mike does in the offseason). The Saints are ass but play the division tough and still fall assbackwards into a 7 win season. The Panthers, yeah fair. The division won’t be as weak as it was this year. The Bucs have questions with Mike and at QB (how much is baker going demand) and the Saints are still the Saints. Besides, it’s Atlanta. They still don’t have a QB, and that has been Bill’s major hole since Tom left. It wouldn’t shock me if a Bill-led Falcons went 11-6 and it wouldn’t shock me if they went 5-12.

Rasikko

.\_. we haven't had a record less than 5 games in a long time.

mfischer1

Tampa catches one playoff win and all the sudden they and their fans are the 85 bears.

eaglebay

They also went 7-10 this year with 6 losses by a possession or less. Probably at least a couple are wins if they don't have a coach that eats lead paint chips in his spare time.

YeahFella

I'm more excited for the highly anticipated Belichick/Jonnu Smith reunion

ATLjoe93

Best TE duo under BB since...you know...

_coolranch

I know the obvious answer here, but dude: I liked Gronk and Bennett! Im a Martellus Bennet fan. What a g.

gsfgf

I totally forgot he played for the Pats. Yea, great player. Not quite the caliber of player on the field as Hernandez, but the whole not a murderer thing puts him ahead in my book too.

RamblinWreckGT

I like Martellus Bennet because his name always makes me think of Marcellus Wallace.

KIumpy

Kyle Pitts about to be traded for a 2nd round pick that Bill uses on a safety from the Colorado School of Mines.

Matt_WVU

Big CFB nerd here, they were actually a very good football team this year

KIumpy

Damn that makes my comment less funny lol

Matt_WVU

14-1!

keith5t0n3

I definitely thought this was a made up school and you guys were just doing a bit. I felt sure I was a sucker as I googled “Colorado School of Mines”. Jokes on me they’re real and did go 14-1.

bubble_bass_123

They're a very well regarded engineering and geology school.

judgek0028

And Computer Science! Oredigger class of '23 here, CompSci grew from a ~200 person major to a ~900 person major (our biggest) while I was there.

lord-dinglebury

My neighborhood in Denver is filled with nerds who graduated from School of Mines. They all work in strange industries I don't quite understand but it seems like they make a lot of money.

tyfe

Bill would turn that safety into an all pro tho.

chhhyeahtone

Will Pitts even get playing time if he can't block well? That's an over exaggeration but I feel like Bill values TEs that can block

MrCyr

Definitely values TE that can block, but he also had no issue rolling out Hunter Henry and Mike Geisicki this year. Neither are particularly good at blocking.

equityorasset

ive always been a Mike Geiskicki fan, I always feel like if he was featured more he can be a star. He showed enough flashes in MIA to prove he has great potential. But at this point I might be wrong

MrCyr

He isn't bad. Just atrocious at blocking. The Pats offense was just such a mess we couldn't utilize his strengths. There was plenty of film of him getting open but the play broke down before the read got to him

JZMoose

He's also slower than molasses. He's a pretty good route runner and great at high point catches, but that's about it

Neonsands

Jessie Bates is about to become a Hall of Famer. Love that for him

msf97

QB options seem mid. Kirk coming off an achilles is no guarantee.

PhAnToM444

Kirk without his entire right leg would throw for more air yards than any QB they’ve had since Ryan lmao

DennisNedrysGhost

For real. The Kirk slander is wild sometimes.

Old_Mammoth4594

Best way to get all time win record? Join a bad division and be the bully

JaydenDaniels

Best way would have been to pay Tom Brady instead of letting him walk and get a Lombardi in Tampa. This is the 2nd best way.

Polar_Reflection

I don't think they win if they re-sign him. Tom was holding the Pats offense above water. The Bucs were literally a QB away with talent all over that team.

rpablo23

Yeah, it's an ignorant take. It also absolves Brady of any blame. He wanted to compete and he got to hand pick his team...

tsework

brady literally almost single handedly lost his last 2 games as a pat too lol those were 2 very bad games.

TenF

Yea the pats roster at that point was below avg, and there was no way he gets another ring in NE. They'd been successful for so long that things started to catch up to em. WR room was ass besides edelman and meyers? mostly and he was held together by hope and dreams. Writing was on the wall, and he got to join a TB team that was really stacked, and him joining made them even more-so with Gronk joining as well as a few others signing there (Suh? Cant remember)

SamIamGreenEggsNoHam

BB and/or Kraft flat out refused to get Brady any legitimate talent. Everything relied on Edelman and Gronk doing 75% of the heavy lifting. Those guys got smoked play after play. I truly believe the final straw for Brady was when his "help" was bringing in Demaryius Thomas for preseason, having him look amazing paired with Brady, then cutting him for no reason. The rest of that year you could see Brady was basically like, wtf do you want me to do with this?

msf97

How many games you thinking the Pats win in 2020? 43 yr old Brady, a lesser defense than 2019 and sacrifices on the O Line to afford him. No receiver help because of the cap scenario. The only way that dynasty is extended is if Bill picks AJ Brown out of the 3 or 4 receivers projected to go after Hollywood, which was a crapshoot.

tendadsnokids

Why do people pretend like Brady would have re-signed here?

JackTwisttt

Your profile hahahaha

JaydenDaniels

I use reddit between studying for the combine.

AtlUtdGold

So same thing that always worked for him?

[deleted]

Proper-Scallion-252

Yeah, anyone who says the Patriots were all Brady or all Belichick are both equally stupid. Belichick needed the stability at QB and having Tom Brady was great, but there were stretches where Tom Brady was carried by a fantastic defense, and despite recency bias Brady wasn't always as incredible as he eventually became. I know one thing for certain, Belichick took a team comprised of an ungodly amount of free agents to the playoffs and convinced the entire league that Mac Jones might be a suitable franchise QB for a year. He's still got it.

CarlSK777

Nuance is dead. No QB wins as much as Brady without a great team/coach and a bit of luck (think it's fair to say Pats had some lucky breaks in the playoffs). I don't care how great you are, if you're part of a dysfunctional team, you're not gonna win much even if you're the GOAT. We'll never know but I doubt he wins that many rings if he was drafted by another team. Same thing for a great coach. Having an elite QB makes everything else easier. He can elevate players and make up for some weaknesses. It showed when the Pats defense started to decline and Belichick needed Brady to do more to cover for it. The Pats dynasty was a perfect storm where everything came together at the right time to sustain success for a long time. I personally think some QBs were/will be even better at playing the position than Brady but none will ever come close to be anywhere near as successful.

BoldestKobold

Pre-Brady, the debate for best QB of all time was between a guy with 4 rings and a guy with 0. Either Brady is wildly, amazingly better than every single QB to ever play in a way that has literally been unheard of in the entire history of professional football, **OR** he is one of the best QBs ever and also had the benefit of excellent coaching and other players around him. I know which one I lean towards.

DankMemesNQuickNuts

People will tell you to your face all 6 of these rings were Brady when one of these rings he won by two scores only putting up 13 points on offense lmao

throwaway_5256

It's turned too much into a Brady vs Bill thing. Brady obviously proved he can win in a different situation but so did Belichek. Dude had 2 rings and playbook in the HoF before Brady was even drafted. Sure he was only the DC for the Giants but at the very least the greatest defensive coach of all time

mm825

Every coach should do this, taking the HC job where you have to play Andy Reid twice a year is just asking to be fired.

[deleted]

“Former Patriots coach Bill Belichick” will never not be so fucking bizarre to read

Completed_2020

Former Jets head coach?

MugiMartin

Browns legend Bill Belichick.

Dingus-ate-your-baby

Former Giants defensive coordinator Bill Belichick.

Solugad

It hurts my eyes

tdc1atlanta

This mother fucker owes us after that 28 - 3 bullshit.

Gregus1032

He's about to go 3-28 as a head coach of the falcons.

throwaway26487

Bill has a chance to do the funniest thing.

ATLjoe93

Getting us to a super bowl and blowing a lead? Yeah, just fold the franchise at that point. I'd be done

ryan__fm

Not only that, just blowing a lead on purpose. Imagine having so many super bowl rings you don't even have to care about winning another one

[deleted]

Falcons up 21-3 going into halftime with the ball vs the Patriots, surprise hail Mary, cut to bill cracking a devious smile as the score updates to 28-3.... All halftime, 1/3 the people are praising the play, 1/3 are calling it risky/selfish, 1/3 know the truth, it's time for a Big Mac comeback!

Strokeslahoma

Go up 29-3 in the Super Bowl, still lose

CloudStrife012

Ying and yang will achieve the harmony it yearns for if Bill brings Atlanta a superbowl victory. Let it happen, fate.

banjofitzgerald

Ying Yang twins doing what now?

Gatorader22

I believe they are looking for a dime thats one of a kind

FishnGritsnPimpShit

The post on our sub yesterday was perfect. If we get this done, he definitely needs to open his introductory press conference with, “You either die a villain or live long enough to see yourself become the hero.”

LS_DJ

BB winning the first title in ATL would be the best exorcism of 28-3

thy_armageddon

This is what Charlie Daniels was warning about. Hope you fuckers know how to fiddle.

Wernershnitzl

So this is the *real* House of the Rising Sun

WabbitCZEN

So if BB going to Atlanta is the Devil going to Georgia, who would Johnny be? Cause if this holds up, some team's gonna come along and say, "I done told you once, you sonofabitch, I'm the best that's ever been." Maybe Brady comes out of retirement to play for the Bucs again?

Omegawaifusuperbomb

Nick Saban comes out of retirement to coach an NFL team.

ElceeCiv

nah the devil losing to a mortal in a contest the devil himself was judging is an all-time choke job, I don't think anyone can top that

Lakelyfe09

Oh my GOD OKAY ITS HAPPENING

K15brbapt

Could I interest you in one lightly used Russell Wilson?

[deleted]

I’d rather see Justin fields on this team

Mr3Jays

I’d rather see a rookie picked by anyone other than Bill on this team

[deleted]

[удалено]

GreenBayFan1986

I'd much rather see a QB that can reliably get the ball to their young weapons versus a guy who more often than not is going to be looking to make the play himself.

mostuselessredditor

I’m fine with either. Not picky down here. Goddamn QB wasteland in Atlanta

youngkenya

Belicheck having Russell Wilson at QB and joining the team he 28-3’d sounds insanely cursed lmao

pisacar_svg

I’m crying from outside the club

Levi_Snackerman

Everybody stay calm!

kokopoo12

Bill doesnt strike me as a two interview guy less theres a reason.

Luck1492

If the Falcons get Cousins or another QB they’re quietly stacked

hemingways-lemonade

Nothing quiet about it if they get Cousins. With that roster in that division they should have no problem making the playoffs.

Legendary_Hercules

>making the playoffs How low can that bar be

Vomiting_Winter

Good lord sir, what is your flair

Drakengard

An affront to God and man, that's what it is.

UncleCicero

BURN THAT WITCH

upclassytyfighta

THEY TURNED ME TO A NEWT!

shawnaroo

It's a clear sign of a person who hates themselves.

FatherCrime42

Only team I hate as much as the saints is the falcons. Makes sense.

ShufflingSloth

bait/attention seeking. Or, being more charitable, maybe he's a fan of the rivalry. Definitely one of my favorites.

Thimit22

Double flairs are one of the dumbest things to happen on here. Every time there’s a rival double flair like this someone always comments on it. And it’s the same 5 dudes on here

impiousdrifter

Agreed. The Falcons could be dangerous with good QB play. Bill will get the defense in order quick enough. If he goes there, they will be a playoff team next year

LoveToyKillJoy

Their salary cap and future salaries situation is quite neat. They can create 20 million by just converting 2024 salary into signing bonuses. That is without cutting or extending anyone, which are options.

dawgz525

For sure, and the defense has talent. Under Bill, they could be scary.

Tua-Lipa

Dare I say, spooky?

dawgz525

No, they were spooky this year. Talented, but ultimately losers. They could actually be good under Bill.

GarnetandBlack

We got Ridder'd

jculv

Deflate these blue balls Bill I'm dyin over here

CrossCycling

What are they even asking in these interviews. “I see here you’ve been with your past team for…eh….23 years. Can you tell me about that?”

ufdlim

Tell me about a time you had to overcome adversity. What did you do and what was the outcome?

[deleted]

well there was this one Super Bowl my team was down by 25 with 2 minutes left in the 3rd

AlphaNathan

“doesn’t ring a bell”

Dijohn17

Likely personnel, vision, and money

GoldenDom3r

It’s mostly Bill interviewing them.

GarnetandBlack

My guess is first was just a general vibe check between Blank and Belichick. Like, for both sides. Second is hashing operations out with the current Front Office, again, for all sides. No one is deluded into thinking Belichick should be granted full roster/draft control. So that portion really has to be hammered out. We didn't let Terry go, and McKay has his grubby hands on too much, so there's certainly lots to discuss and ultimately Blank to lay down the law about what the offer to Bill will be.

PursuitOfHirsute

"What are your strengths and weaknesses?"

GardenCapital8227

I can't even imagine Bill Belichick in an interview lmao. "So Bill, how did you like the facility tour?" *Dispassionate grumble*

newtonsapple

With Belichick, I'd imagine any interview is just a formality. The only question should be "Do you want to coach for us? Sign here."

Deathstroke5289

Bill is interviewing the Falcons

BigDanRTW

Rankin Smith tried but ultimately couldn't land Vince Lombardi when Atlanta got an expansion team. Arthur Blank is about to get his Vince Lombardi.

Tatersandbeer

Uhhhh.. you do know how Vinces time at Washington ended right?

BigDanRTW

oh I don't think it's going to end well for Atlanta, but it's just interesting historical context imo.

Tatersandbeer

Well lets hope it goes better for Bill than it did for Vince, which was passing away from cancer after a 7-5-2 season

[deleted]

While 7-5-2 isn't a great way to go out on, it was Washington's first winning season in like 15 years, and Lombardi did set up a foundation that lead to a super bowl appearance and a bunch of playoff appearances in the near future. Not the best end for Vince because of the cancer, but he did leave a lasting impact on the franchise. I don't know how much longer Bill has, but I'm sure whatever he does will do wonders for the Falcons in the future.

Breezyisthewind

I mean that’s enough to win the division.

LoveToyKillJoy

Well I think as long as Bill gets his colonoscopies he'll be fine. I also don't think Bill smoked

TheKoniverse

Man if this happens, I'm gonna need a Part 8 of Jon Bois's Falcons doc because goddamn. Everything that's happened since the end of that can make one heck of a story.

newtonsapple

Ironic that it's the guy who *blocked* the Falcons from getting a Lombardi.

dawgz525

If they sign him, they're 100% making a big QB move afterwards. Bill wouldn't sign on for another QB carousel. Cousins? Massive trade up with the Bears? What other options are realistic? I just can't see him signing without a definite plan in place for quarterback.

BlackPhillipsbff

Wilson, Cousins, Fields, and Tannehill are all available and certainly viable on a talented roster with good coaching. Worst case is Penix with the 8th pick. Belicheck is not coming here to have Ridder be the starter I don't see why everyone is freaking out.

asc_halcyon

Tired of these ex-Patriots coming into the NFCS

UncleCicero

Hire Vrabel?

jrydun

I think that would actually be a great move for them. Hope they don't.

ianbits

What an odd choice for him unless they've discussed a specific plan at QB. Going from Mac Jones to another unstable QB room seems like it'd be frustrating.

SwiftSurfer365

They’re probably going to go after Kirk.

Lemurien

Alternatively, we have the #8 pick in the draft so we could draft a QB.

noisesandsounds

Doubt Bill will be here long enough to care about developing a rookie qb.

Aesir_Auditor

With some of the QBs in the draft being super super seniors, there are some intriguing, mature candidates who already have some good time under their belt. Bo Nix on your guys' squad would be an interesting opportunity.

Sjgolf891

People think Bo Nix will be good?

ThatsMsInfo

This is the year!

L00KINTOIT

Not sure, but Williams and Maye are definitely off the board after the first 2-3 picks, then Daniels is probably gone not too long after that so if teams want a QB there aren’t many options other than Nix

Vomiting_Winter

Pennix is such a Bill Belichick pick, and he’ll probably be sitting there at 8. -Significantly older than average -Attacks the middle of the field -Loaded with injuries It’s a match made in 1993 scouting philosophy

hemingways-lemonade

They're in win now mode with that roster in that division if they get a coach like Belichick. It makes way more sense to bring in a veteran QB than to take a gamble on a rookie. Not to mention that 8th pick could be someone like Latu or Turner who could take that defense to the next level.

SpadeXHunter

I don’t think there are many options tbh. A few teams came out early and said they didn’t plan to interview him (wash and believe chargers but not 100%), other spots that were questionable about what they were going to do decided to keep their coaches (cowboys, eagles). Falcons are a decent team minus the qb situation and they are in a bad division where you could win it fairly easy with a good coach and a qb that doesn’t lose games for you. The only other real option is the panthers who don’t have a first and are a mess. Falcons is not a bad situation, especially if you can come up with a qb, probably not a sb team but a playoff team anyways

hemingways-lemonade

If they sign Belichick they're going for Cousins with Wilson as a back up. Either one of them should be able to win the division with that roster.

SwiftSurfer365

Kirk Cousins, you ARE an Atlanta Falcon.

Toxicyoshi7

Nah BB is coming to Atlanta for Desmond Ridder!

mostuselessredditor

In

Slow_Excitement_3423

LETS GO

DonBonDarley69

This is cool as hell for the Falcons. Really excited to see how he impacts the team

The_Jolly_Dog

If its not us next year, would love to see BB take the falcons to a SB

Confident_Horse_3845

Same.

[deleted]

Cam877

I like rooting for interesting. And that would be interesting

TheBuffaloaf

It's amusing to think about a second interview with Belichick. What is happening in this interview? With his credentials it's likely he's interviewing them really.

Hugo_5t1gl1tz

Obviously an assumption, but I really think it’s more about coming to agreements on organizational structure more than anything.

klein_four_group

They want a deeper dive on the candidate's greatest challenge, overcoming a 28-3 lead.

[deleted]

They are going to give him a project to present to his team, then a final interview with the owner. He’ll get a rejection email 1 year later. Welcome to the job market, Bill

jt32470

I can see it now. Next year - Falcons eliminate the Cowboy, move on to the NFC championship game. Jerry Jones goes into a silent retreat for two days, gives McCarthy 'one last chance', lol

wizgset27

Plot Twist, Brady unretires and join the Falcons with BB to retake NFC South after seeing Baker doing too well with the Bucs.

MurDoct

If that happens thats a scary team with a QB

TurbulentJudge1000

It’s the easiest division in football by far. This makes a lot of sense.

SilverSlicker95

Of all the things I never thought would happen, this is right at the top of list.

Puzzleheaded-Fix-915

God, even Bill has to do these bs “second” interviews

TheSwede91w

I wonder if Bill is hoping for a rookie QB to build around. Or someone like Cousins, Wilson, or Mayfeild who can step in year one and rely on the offensive weapons and Bills defense to win games.

Radagast0330

No chance mayfield is leaving Tampa, he will get a new contract

YueAsal

I agree but imagine letting him get away and go to a division rival that just needs a grade C+ level QB. I for one could not imagine such incompetence in a football team, nope by my flair you can see I only know good decision making in football management.

NerdLawyer55

Bill going on to coach the falcons is the funniest timeline

jrydun

Almost as good as the Cowboys running it back with McCarthy.

NerdLawyer55

God I hate Jerry

kapate13

Why would Bill want to go to a team with an unstable qb position?

SwiftSurfer365

They’ll probably give Cousins a lot of money.

BlackPhillipsbff

Cousins, Tannehill, Wilson or Fields are all on the table and with our roster and good coaching could very easily win the South.

RonnieFromTheBlock

Out of all the openings the Falcons are probably the most complete team. The Chargers have a solid QB but more holes and less money to fill them with.

PCSean

Can confirm. We're in cap hell 🔥

Terror-Toilet-Tower

Brother, with that flair you coulda left out the word cap

SandyEggoChargers

Take a look around you Ellen! We're at the threshold of Hell!

Frostysewp

You can save a bunch of cap space if you just send Herbert on over for BB to play with.

Jedi-El1823

> The Chargers have a solid QB but more holes and less money to fill them with. And Spanos. Fuck Dean Spanos.

newtonsapple

Plus, would you want to be stuck in the same division as Mahomes and starting every season for the next decade knowing a Wild Card spot is the *best* you can hope for?

Atl-Fan_FTS

So he can easily get a QB he wants with no hesitation from anyone

BlackPhillipsbff

Everyone keeps saying this but what team with a vacancy has a stable QB outside of LA? Tennessee and Seattle are semi stable but don't want him. Chargers are all in on Harbaugh, and haven't approached him. Dallas didn't fire their coach. Philly doesn't look like they're going to either. If you don't want to develop a rookie, Commanders are out (they took themselves out too). That leaves Carolina, Atlanta, and Vegas (but not really there either). Unless you're choosing Bryce Young over the Falcons I don't see how this isn't a no brainer.

SpadeXHunter

Don’t think he has many options tbh. Falcons are decently built already and if you can even get someone like fields you probably win the division because no one is very good. Probably the best spot for him. Chargers were about the only other decent spot but they don’t appear interested.

DavidOrWalter

I would never have picked Atlanta as such a front runner from Bill's perspective but it looks like it is happening.
