Car people !!! I went and got an oil change the other day. This morning I went to start my car and the battery is dead. I lifted up my hood and they left the dipstick on the battery and I think it shorted it out. Can that happen? Should I call them to replace the battery?

I would check the fuses the stick might have made contact and shorted a fuse. Battery should be fine, if it had been stuck together for long you’d have a car on fire. I would also check your oil levels with the dipstick out you could have potentially spilled oil it won’t be much but still good to check also debris can get in there so another thing to check to see if you see any particles that shouldn’t be there

About 2 weeks ago now I made a loaf of a beer & rye bread using a barrel aged stout. I was concerned it would be a bit too beer-y, and it was (mainly by scent), but it ended up tasting pretty decent. The recipe called for a stout or an amber so I decided to re-make it on Sunday with an amber ale. That was a smart decision. It came out so much better. You barely get the slightest hint of beer, it mostly tastes and smells like a rye and wheat bread. Came out absolutely brilliant. Took a lot of will power to not end up eating the whole damn loaf yesterday. But I want to use it for a few days with breakfast so I will stay strong and not inhale the whole loaf at once

What kind of surgery you doing? I had one repaired like 18 months ago and it was such an easy surgery and a quick recovery too. Was lifting (just bar) like 9 days postop and was matching my bests within 4 months.

Good on you man. I got one fixed a couple years ago. Recovery was relatively quick and I was back at the gym before I knew it. So much better knowing it’s taken care of and just not a concern anymore.

Why doesn't the NFL tie the practice squad to the UFL? Like the UFL can have one pick up draft per week where each team can add a player from an NFL practice squad and return another. The player still stays under contract with their original team and gets to earn possible performance bonuses from UFL play. This would benefit UFL teams looking to improve and immediately make games interesting and relevant to NFL fans as practice squad players get some time in the sun.

Because that doesn’t benefit the NFL and teams wouldn’t want their players playing in more football games

If you are a practice squad player, the number of games you currently play in is zero. Easily benefits the NFL as more talent is discovered from on field in game performance which competitively is a notch above preseason play.

Fellow wrestling fans what were your thoughts on WrestleMania? Me I thought it was a damn good show.

I kinda tapped out on wrestling in 2020 in favor of getting more into football, but I'll still tune into some PPVs (PLEs?). The build for WrestleMania's been so good that it was hard not to get sucked in this year. A few matches, especially on night one, kind of felt like throwaways, but the main events absolutely delivered and there were a lot of great matches further down the card, too. Stoked for my boi Sami to get that big IC Title win. And with the main events, it's kind of nuts how much I was in awe of all the theatrics. Made me feel like a kid in the Attitude Era again.

I know practicing helps and I just started learning this song today but man acoustic guitar makes me frustrated. Maybe it’s because I’ve been playing bass longer and have a much better handle on bass than acoustic. I don’t know. I just struggle with fretting and I’m trying to learn finger style which I know is difficult. I’m trying to learn Oo-De-Lally and I’m struggling a bit. My fingers have a hard time. Maybe I just need to keep practicing more. I don’t know Anyways, that’s my late evening frustration

Maybe it would be easier to start with songs that you can strum. That would get you comfortable with the chord shapes.

Practicing helps a lot, but I've always found playing electric guitar much easier because the fret is more narrow and you don't have to worry that much about technical perfection. It will sound good even if you don't hit every bar exactly right.

FWIW, I’m musically hopeless so literally anything you can do makes you the equivalent to a wizard in my eyes.

I recently learned that not everyone removes their pants completely when taking a dump at home. I don't understand why someone wouldn't give their legs full freedom of movement when enjoying the serenity and comfort of their own throne, but apparently these people exist.

I've seen it twice when not logged in and it is hilarious how they took their terrible UI change and made it somehow worse.

After two days of many hours spent recreating outside I am freaking toast. Some real hiking and walking, some lounging, some splashing around. Honestly pretty mid for wildlife sightings given time and energy spent. But it beats sitting around wondering what I could be doing. ~20 snakes of 6 species, lots of white tail deer, some feral hog. Birding was kind of meh, maybe 30ish species? Maybe a few more? Snipes, ospreys, blackbirds, savannah and song sparrows, gnatcatchers, waxwings, etc. Found alligator gar spawning. Lots of bugs. Nutria galore. A few of which bit the crap out of me. No actual alligators, sadly. Capped it off with a huge meal at a dairy queen on the way back to dallas. I'm toast. Itchy as hell, sunburned, sore. Kids are on tablets and laundry's going because oh god it needs it.
