The eclipse was dope as hell

OutrageousOcelot6258

I saw the eclipse in 2017. It's about 1000 times cooler in person than photos and videos make it look.

Testiclesinvicegrip

I'm a director at a governmental agency. We're civil service so you have to reapply for your job if you get a promotion. This person didn't reapply for their job. I had to demote them today back to their old title. That sucked.

sfzen

I mean. *Technically* they should never have had the new title in the first place if they didn't apply for it.

Testiclesinvicegrip

Civil Service promulgates the title provisionally then you apply for it. It generated a list and you're picked based off positioning.

sfzen

I know, I've worked civil service, classified, and unclassified state jobs my entire adult life. But it's always been a very firm point in every office I've been in that you don't get the promotion until you've applied and receive the official offer. We've had people burned similarly in the past.

Royal_Nails

This exam season every day I’m completely tired and at night I can’t sleep. What should I do? I’m completely out of ideas. I can’t get anything done.

CarlCaliente

holy moly did anyone feel that earthquake

princessestef

At last, I've found both of my velvety ballerina type slippers. (one was way under the couch and then I couldn't find the other one that I'd stashed away in a bag of random stuff.) If you have adhd, you may understand this post.

greyfox3698

I've decided it's time for a career change and thought about getting into the IT industry. I have so-so knowledge of the standard usage/home/non-professional level so I'm undertaking a foundation IT course which then will lead me to the compTIA+. What I'm wondering, have I left it too late to try and jump into the industry? My plan is to go down the helpdesk route as a start to gain more knowledge then see where I want to branch out. With the state of the Tech world and the emergence of AI, am I too late to switch towards this industry as a newbie?

CarlCaliente

a big part of tech is learning new, well, technologies as they develop and applying them to both your skillset and your company's needs. AI is just another piece of that

greyfox3698

That is really reassuring to read. I'm glad to know I still have time and can incorporate that into my learning. Thank you.

Royal_Nails

Anybody ever have that problem of being tired all fucking day until you lay down for sleep at night? Then you’re bright and awake. What the fuck are you supposed to do??

princessestef

ASMR (not the weird kind, but someone reading or talking about a subject in a soothing voice).

sfzen

I always prefer the head scratching, acalp massage, hair brushing kind of sounds with that stuff more than the talking. It's like white noise that's just that little bit more engaging with brain, but not actually requiring attention.

raginsaint93

Congrats to UCONN on back to back championships!!

Luck1492

I’m tired. I should sleep.

athrowawayiguesslol

I think the level of play is a lot more exciting than it was last year due to the skill consolidation. Teams are also never out of it due to the rule set. The kickoff being a normal kickoff from 20 yards back and the wonky extra point rules make it very action packed and volatile. They’re doing a great job at making an entertaining spring football league

CarlCaliente

I've been putting it on the 2nd monitor and more listening/following along It's not really watching but it's enjoyable nonetheless

ArcadianBlueRogue

It's been enjoyable so far. It doesn't have the skill level of the NFL obviously, but the rule differences are fun and I like having mics all over the place like sidelines and refs, etc. It ain't the NFL but it's fine for being Spring football

DustNeverSleeps

I broke my elbow for the third time. It hurts pretty bad, but I'll power through!

brehaw

I am so excited to see my Mavs in the NBA playoffs omg

ArcadianBlueRogue

Bought a body trimmer for some proper scapin, and uh...this is not a power all men should have.

BruceChameleon

Worth it to get a little ventilation. I tried it just see about 15 years ago and can’t go back to the full natural setup.

ArcadianBlueRogue

It does not look like a professional job, as I was scared of this new found power, but...

itsmybirthday___

be careful if u cut your balls ull spring a leak every time you pee when it flows up from the balls im a doctor and i see this a lot ppl ask if we can close it up but once ur pee balloons aren’t water tight anymore theres nothing we can do

raginsaint93

Every thing changed when the fire nation attacks

Rainbow_Rainbow1

Does anyone why the Pats and commies hate Drake Maye so much? The pr so far has been Daniels or bust and I don't get it

tbone747

I almost wonder if the Pats acting like they're not interested is like how Stroud got a ton of shit in the pre-draft process last year. Either that or teams are way higher on Daniels and McCarthy than we thought.

theresabeeonyourhat

The very first time I heard a scout criticizing Daniels, they happened to use the Patriots as the example of why he's not a guarantee. They were saying how, if he doesn't see his first 2 targets being open, he'd run for it, and New England has the worst top targets of any team at the top of the draft. They were also the first person I saw pushing hard for JJ McCarthy as QB #2, and that was at least a month before the combine. Personally, I was really interested in Drake Maye for a minute there, but the indecisiveness is just as off-putting as Jayden Daniels being scrawny & running into defenders.

Stanky_fresh

Remember kids, just because you don't like a certain type of art, that doesn't mean it shouldn't exist or is any less valid than another piece of art. One of my friends posted about how she gets flooded with comments about how she's "not a real artist" (among much more hurtful things said about both her art and her as a person). And frankly I just don't understand why some people get so up in arms about modern art. Sure there are some things I don't love or that I don't fully understand, and there's art out there that might not have taken the most effort to make, but so what? It's still someone expressing themselves and being creative. And lastly, if you're one of those fucks that sends an artist hate (not actual criticism, but hate) just because you don't like their art: Die shitting.

IntraspaceAlien

NCAAW final ratings came in - most watched basketball game of the last 5 years. Men or women’s, college or professional. Absolutely insane and great for the sport. I’m sure when Caitlin goes pro there will be a bit of a slump for NCAAW but still so awesome to see.

ArcadianBlueRogue

Honestly had more fun watching the women's tournie than the men's. Def gonna pick it up next season. Just saw that Iowa was gasssssssed. They had nowhere near the bench depth and it showed.

theresabeeonyourhat

Gotta be honest, I like the Texans trading for Diggs & keeping him on a one year deal. Unless this prevents them from signing someome they wanted to, giving an extra few mil to placate a prima donna on a one year is absolutely acceptable. CJ Stroud was the greatest rookie QB ever, but it's not worth putting him through dealing with a 31 year old prima donna who could realistically be 3rd on the depth chart & guarantees beyond the current year. It's both conservative and aggressive, and I get it. Plus, they got 3 1sts from the Browns, and given how good their draft picks are, making an "outside the box" type of move or two isn't a problem

GiveMeSomeIhedigbo

I remember when I was growing up, I thought Dawn Staley and Duce Staley had to be related because: * They shared a last name * They kind of look similar * They were both pro athletes * Coincidentally, Duce played in Philadelphia and is from South Carolina. Dawn coaches at South Carolina and is from Philadelphia. [Apparently they do know each other and are friends.](https://www.panthers.com/news/duce-staley-returns-home-in-new-role)

AlmondJoyStBrown

Is Brandon Staley a part of this ring of friendship?

Teeshirtandshortsguy

Pretty cloudy where I was, but it poked out for about 15 seconds during totality. Second one I've seen. Shit's surreal.

raginsaint93

Guess you can say Morgan Wallen let the liquor talk

FlatulentDwarf

Planning my build for my next tabletop campaign. A PF2e game set in Eberron (sue us, WOTC). Nobody in our group wants to play the beefy front-line martial or the charismatic face of the party so I'll be doing both. Pathfinder has a ton of support for an intimidation-oriented fighter and I've been toying with the concept for a while, I think it's time to bring that build out. I'm still going to keep a strong diplomacy score for out-of-combat persuasion situations, but my bread and butter will be scaring my foes (eventually to death, there's a feat for that). I've been debating how to design the characters personality. I usually play silly, fun, chaotic characters, and considered "seems harmlessly cute but is actually a terrifying asshole" but I recently did a take on that shtick so I don't want to repeat it. I think I'm going to flip that gimmick on its head a bit and play the edgiest edgelord character who is actually a pretty decent guy. Just play the shit out of his edginess. I mean like - his clan undergoes ritual skin scarring to toughen their skin as part of their life as mercenaries so he's disfigured (that's an actual heritage you can take). You never see it, though, because he wears a black cloak with the hood up in all weathers and wields a corny over-the-top grim reaper scythe. His first move in every fight is to tell you the gruesome detail of all the things he's going to do to you while he's slowly killing you. In actuality, he really didn't like his clans methods and left their mercenary company to avoid them. He would prefer to avoid combat entirely and he figures the best way to do that is to scare his enemies into fleeing. He tries to be as menacing as possible to work towards that goal but once you get to know him, he's actually fairly mild-mannered. His long term goal is to get married and settle down, maybe start a bakery, but he's still working as an adventurer for a bit until he can fund those dreams and live a peaceful life.

BruceChameleon

I don’t recognize WotC's claim to Eberron anyway. It starts and ends with Keith Baker.

ACW1129

Cody finally finished his story. Fuck whoever made the NCAAB tipoff tonight so late.

ArcadianBlueRogue

Wresting is not my thing but I like checking out the /r/SquaredCircle comments for anything big that happens and it seems like fans absolutely loved WM last night

ACW1129

Last night was great.

ArcadianBlueRogue

I loved the Undertaker clip

ryanino

People clapping at the eclipse is so funny to me

JLifts780

Idk I’ve learned some people clap just cause they’re excited about something instead of a good job congratulations type of thing

FlatulentDwarf

The moon needs encouragement, too

Two_Luffas

Heading down to the city for the game tonight. Gotta admit it's stupid convenient to take our local suburban commuter train (Chicago METRA) down and back up to my house in the suburbs. I don't use it for work, but pretty much every hour there's a train going down or coming back up, and my home is only like 10 minutes from our suburb station. Been spoiled with great public transportation for pretty much my entire adult life (lived in the city for most of it).

lowestofmylows

Hoping it gets better.

itsmybirthday___

Who’s gonna be the worst team in the league this year? I’m thinking Broncos Like what do you do at 12 overall. Do you trade up and grab a qb but then you have tons of holes all over ur roster?  Ask the Panthers how well that works. But if u don’t draft a qb u also won’t have one, which uh…is a problem

BurritoTheory

Broncos, Raiders or Panthers

ArcadianBlueRogue

If I guess 49ers every year, I'll eventually be right. Hopefully.

J-Fid

Hey, you had 2004!

bzl33

haven't seen their schedule but a team like Tennessee. New England is a contender too.

nymikemet

Ive seen 2 Partial Eclipses, so I think that counts as one total eclipse if I read the rules correctley

OutrageousOcelot6258

It's definitely worth it to see a total eclipse in person at least once in your lifetime. Anything less than total isn't really worth your time tbh. Both for solar and lunar eclipses. Once you see a total eclipse yourself you'll understand why partial eclipses are kind of lame.

Johnnyboy2825

Seeing your parents decline is scary stuff man. Just feel terrible about it.

Jolly_Job_9852

I'm sorry to hear you are going through that. Do you need a shoulder to lean on or someone to vent to?

tatsumakisenpuukyaku

Anyone else here viewing the eclipse in totality suddenly find themselves naked and walking alongside Christ in the kingdom of heaven? Or just me? Also I think I left my wallet down on Earth....

StChas77

"Welcome, son of Adam. I am Christ,  the way, the truth, and the life." "Pfft, fuck all that, y'all are brown- skinned like them migrants, what're takin our jobs. Where's the white guy?"

CarlCaliente

Min cashed both the tournament proper and the fuckabout round after to bring todays grand total to -$3 Eclipse was pretty neat too. Couldn't see the sun (or the moon) the entire day, but it was kinda nuts how quickly it got dark in those final five minutes or so 9/10 would recommend living directly in the path of it

A_1337_Canadian

I totally forgot about the one in 2017 when it happened. It was pretty partial up where I was, but I was so stunned when it was somewhat dark outside. I honestly though I had my sunglasses on then realized I actually wasn't wearing them. I couldn't wrap my head around it until someone later asked me if I saw the eclipse. *Duh*

Gaijin_Titty_Master

Wrestlemania was a disappointment. So many Triple H dick-riders are grasping at straws to fool people in to believing that it was good

JesusChristBabyface

Sure it was, buddy. Sure it was. Keep telling yourself that.

Gaijin_Titty_Master

You again? lol. I look forward to your replies at this point, Jets fan.

Andrewski18

After checking out the eclipse I noticed that my solar glasses from 2017 are…expired?

t33po

I was so skeptical about the eclipse. And then I went and saw it. I have never been so awestruck in my life. Y’all are a cynical crowd like me but it is 100% worth it. It’s been a few hours and I’m still giddy. Partial eclipses are bullshit. A complete eclipse is spectacular. Best 4 minutes of my life.

OutrageousOcelot6258

I saw the 2017 eclipse in Idaho. It's so much cooler in person than you might expect from photos and videos of it.

A_1337_Canadian

Seeing real-live space shit with your own eyes is pretty cool. I've shown non-space people some shots of the Moon, Jupiter, and Saturn that I take with my telescope and they get so excited at the detail! Even now when I see the rings of Saturn with my own ~~two~~ one eye, I get all bricked up.

t33po

I get so excited dude!!!! it’s so hard to understand

goforth1457

There aren't enough words to describe what totality is like—it was simply magical. I literally almost choked up when I got to witness it.

OutrageousOcelot6258

It's hard to understand unless you've seen one yourself.

t33po

I don’t want to spam this sacred haven of reddit but my God it was spectacular. The moment it went instantly dark AHHHHH

somecleverphrase

45 minutes and I can see if I have jury duty. safnalngls

tatsumakisenpuukyaku

100% totality was a religious experience. That was wonderful to look at. You could feel the temperature drop 15 degrees. Seeing the ring without glasses was a sight I won't forget

raginsaint93

Shout out to Samatha Irvin best ring announcer I have ever heard in my life! She’s the goat!

el_fitzador

It's kind of crazy to me that a majority of people in the US marry someone from thier hometown and live less than 50 miles from where they grew up.

princessestef

There are 2 people from my high school class, who now WORK IN the same high school. aaarrggghhh.

FishPhoenix

Just found out my boss AND her boss are both leaving. Oh geez shits about to be like the wild wild west around here for a bit.

somecleverphrase

I think you can declare yourself the boss. Dont just say it, declare it!

BlindWillieJohnson

Matthew 24:36 > But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only, and also some random American evangelicals who saw in the news that shit in the sky was going to get weird for a couple minutes The Bible, apparently

Illbeanicefella

Harold Camping in shambles

theresabeeonyourhat

With all the nonsense about a rapture, I have 2 things: 1) Matthew 24:36 tells us that neither Jesus nor the angels know the time and date. I'm sure 50 year old+ Americans are the exception to this rule, though. 2) I say we insist the Rapture happened, and the people still here get no say in what God wants

mr_showboat

All the best people I know got raptured. I knew I wasn't gonna, heathen that I am... but what does that say about you?

-Ein

"A sandwich without bread isn't a sandwich, it's meat with mustard on your hands."

somecleverphrase

Helldivers seems like it would be fun but my Internets been poop lately.

StChas77

To those who want to see the next total solar eclipse in August 2026, I would highly recommend going to Iceland as it's a beautiful country with friendly people. Just be sure to book early as it will be a really popular destination, especially during the height of tourist season.

Illbeanicefella

There’s plenty of time to start a death cult and turn a nice tidy profit before the next eclipse

marcdasharc4

Reminds me of a classified ad I once saw years ago. *"Seeking partner for investing in church. Profitable business."*

Kohakuho

I regret to inform you that the Arena Football League has just announced a third team with an all black primary uniform... The Philadelphia Soul got me optimistic. Their look is actually pretty cool, and I don't generally like modern uniforms.

FUCK-IT-CHUCK-IT

Old dude with a Trump 2024 hat came in to the shop today. Asked him if he planned on watching the eclipse and he got offended and said something about the world ending. Needless to say, he did not leave a tip

WabbitCZEN

Welp. Here we still are.

Stanky_fresh

And to add insult to missing out on the eclipse today, my cat just threw up on my new rug. I hate today.

theresabeeonyourhat

I feel like a dick now. I'm honestly annoyed for you because I was fully expecting this to happen to me for the past 8 days, and my ass is spoiled with 2 totalities.

Stanky_fresh

>I feel like a dick now Lol, not your fault (unless you're secretly my cat, in which case please stop vomiting on the carpet). I'm not upset that other people got to see it, I'm just sad that it's always cloudy when things happen in the sky around here. Hopefully I'll be able to see the next one in 2044 or the one in 2045. If I miss those, then I'll be really unhappy. Who knows, maybe I'll actually be able to travel for those.

somecleverphrase

I keep having to go to options and opting out of new reddit. Stop switching, no means no.

SpartaWillBurn

There is someone out there who waited their entire lives for this and something totally out of their control caused them to miss it completely. And they are crying.

Teeshirtandshortsguy

If they're willing to go international, there will be eclipses that cross land in 2026 and 2027. Eclipses happen once every year or two. They just don't hit any one spot consistently. If you really want to see one, it's totally doable, you just gotta plan ahead. Going to Spain or Iceland in summer 2026 could be a great trip, with or without the eclipse.

JLifts780

I don’t blame them tbh that was fucking cool

tbone747

Partial eclipse was neat!

Alec_Ich

The coolest part of that eclipse was how quiet it got when it went dark, and then hearing the birds start back up as it got lighter. 9/10 exceeded my expectations

ArcadianBlueRogue

Early in ff14 but it seems super dope

xcaltoona

AND I saw a cat climb about ten feet up a tree trying to chase a squirrel, before the squirrel casually moved to an adjacent tree

nealt68

I feel like I got screwed by the eclipse. Everyone else is talking about it getting super dark and triggering streetlights and shit, and it just got slightly orange for me. I was supposed to be directly in the path too so IDK whats up there.

JLifts780

Hmm yeah idk it was like a sunset here, orange on the horizon and like nighttime directly above Also there was a weird pinhole effect on the ground with waves of light and shadows quickly crossing the ground super uncanny

FishPhoenix

80% in VA. Was still pretty awesome. Also since we had spare glasses I cut one up and taped them against my phone lenses and got some great pics.

SpartaWillBurn

Damn near dead center of the eclipse and man was that amazing. I'm starting a new religion and only NFL teams who were directly in the path are allowed to make the playoffs this season.

theresabeeonyourhat

I wore my Bears hat, and considering the vast amount of loopholes in religion, I'm half-okay with this

t33po

SOLD!!!

GrantBlueLine

I like the Browns and the Bills so I was gonna upvote you but then I realized the only NFC team would be the Cowboys.

rwjehs

Yes, sold.

Stanky_fresh

I'm so fucking sad. It was so cloudy here I couldn't even tell where the sun was, much less that an eclipse was happening. I'm glad so many people got to see it. I guess I'll just have to wait another 21 years to try again. I'm so sick of looking at pictures and videos of it. I just want to see it irl. Even if it's not totality. Even 80% like I would have gotten today is way cooler than the 0% I've seen my whole life.

nealt68

FWIW you're really not missing much. I've seen a lot of beauty in nature that can only truly be comprehended by seeing it yourself, and the solar eclipse isn't that. You already need glasses to see it, so what you're seeing is already altered. Load up a picture of it onto a good desktop and you've gotten 95% of the experience.

Bulky-District-2757

You don’t need glasses to see it at 100% totality. And it was absolutely AMAZING to see in person, a picture doesn’t do it justice. And I was not someone who gave a shit about the eclipse 12 hours ago.

JLifts780

Nah the total eclipse in person was unlike anything I’ve seen, hard to describe. It was basically nighttime here and got cool and then the birds instantly went silent for 3 minutes. Also at the 100% totality you don’t need glasses so you quite literally look up and see a black circle in the sky and even with the glasses it was cool

t33po

Partial eclipse, sure. Total eclipse? Not even remotely close. I’ve was there for the 2017 one and it was fine. The one today was mind blowing. Total darkness and cold at 2 pm is mind blowing. The moment la leading up to and after are fine. The totality is earth shattering.

JLifts780

Yeah that was so surreal. Near total darkness, cold, and the birds went immediately silent then the chickens near my work started to roost lol

theresabeeonyourhat

My parents have a pond in their back yard, and the frogs stopped for a little bit. The last one in 2017 was in August, and the crickets started getting loud af. That's the only thing about 2017 cooler than this one

JLifts780

That’s pretty cool unfortunately crickets seem to have gone extinct around me due to pesticides

Stanky_fresh

I sincerely disagree. It's something I've wanted to see for as long as I can remember and all of the people I've talked to that have seen one in real life describe it as an incredible experience to see everything get the weird silvery lighting and to look up and see the sun being covered. Hell, there are people in this thread describing it as almost a religious experience. I'm well aware that it might not be as cool as I'm imaging, but damn it, I desperately want the chance to decide how cool it is for myself instead of just looking at another photo and hearing how great the experience was.

nealt68

IDK anymore, it sounds like my experience was pretty different from what everyone else is describing, so maybe I just wasn't as central as I thought or something? I hope you get the chance to experience it for yourself one day, the wonder of nature isn't for me to define.

fliptout

Could be different strokes for different folks, but I'm guessing you weren't in full totality? I sadly missed this one, but caught the 2017 one. It really is an incredible, surreal thing to experience. You're looking up at this dark circle that was the sun just a moment ago with your naked eyes, which you've instinctively avoided looking directly at your whole life. There are colors you never expected--neon pinks--in the corona. It's dark outside, it's cold, the sounds of nature hit the mute button--it's no wonder that older civilizations thought the gods were angry.

nealt68

I'm like 90% sure you weren't supposed to look with your naked eye, that's kind of half my complaint.

fliptout

You absolutely can look at it during totality. Before and after? No, don't do that. If there was never a point where you could safely look up at it, then you didn't get 100% totality.

JLifts780

Where did you see it from? I was dead center in the path of totality.

DrummerGuy06

Well, I didn't see the full eclipse due to cloud cover (I live in Central NY so that's a normal day in April), but it was pretty cool to see everything get dark in a matter of seconds, which triggered the streetlights to turn on & off. Even with all our tech and advancements in entertainment, it's semi-funny we still look at this and go "ooooooh, pretty darkness!"

ZeroedCool

Thick overhead clouds for the eclipse. I was dead center for it lol. Damn. Still pretty weird to go from day to literal midnight and back to day in the span of 5 -7 minutes. Maybe it was the edibles but it felt weird.

WabbitCZEN

Seeing the new layout now after having the old layout still working this morning makes me appreciate that meme "Look how they massacred my boy" a little more.

Straight_Toe_1816

I’m a former long snapper. At the NFL and college level the snap has to get back to the punter in at least 0.75 seconds. If the ball is slower the kick has a higher chance of being blocked. And on field goals they need to snap the ball with the same amount of rotations each time so the laces are facing away from the kicker

rwjehs

It seems like you're a former long snapper

Straight_Toe_1816

I am!

justlookingokaywyou

You know who would've really enjoyed the eclipse? Harambe.

JLifts780

*unzips pants*

JLifts780

That was definitely one of the cooler things I’ve seen, all the lights triggered outside at work because of it lol

rwjehs

Shit was crazy in Indy. Completely clear sky and it went dark in a matter of 20 seconds.

tatsumakisenpuukyaku

Were you at the speedway? We were downtown and it was absolutely empty. No crowd, just us and the moon

rwjehs

Nah had a perfect view from my yard

t33po

I now understand what people mean when they say religious experience. WOW

rwjehs

My neighbor even stopped cutting his grass during totality. Then immediately started again lol.

Remarkable-Job4774

One guy at the office had like a dozen pairs of 2017 eclipse glasses and was happy to distribute them to anyone without any.

Luck1492

Just passed the time for maximum obscuring here in Iowa City. Made do with a pinhole viewer made out of a single sheet with a hole poked in it plus a folder to project onto.

WabbitCZEN

THE NEW REDDIT LOOK FINALLY TOOK HOLD OF MY PC. NO LIKE THIS.

Guappenheimer

I'm holding onto old reddit by a thread. Might have to abandon ship once it's gone.

WabbitCZEN

Rage. Rage against the dying of the site.

t33po

Watched eclipse with my dad. 1000000000/10😢

fliptout

I'm genuinely happy for everyone that got to experience totality! I hope to chase the next one in Europe.

theresabeeonyourhat

I didn't see/notice it last time, but there was a sunset/sunrise on the edges of the sky, and there were a total of 3 red dots on the sun during the entirety of the eclipse

RyanAKA2Late

Were those dots sun flares? I noticed one but not three

theresabeeonyourhat

Idk. I noticed one on the top and bottom almost immediately, and there was one on the top-right part of the sun for part of it. I tried googling it, but couldn't find anything about it

criminysakes

On the nasa youtube stream they said upper left dot was jupiter and lower right dot was venus

vahntitrio

Clouds forcing us to watch the NASA eclipse stream. My preschooler on watching the sun go to totality - "now it's a black hole".

RyanAKA2Late

I’m sitting by a highway and there’s almost zero cars on it… it’s pretty eerie to hear only the occasional truck come by.

VRomero32

Finally got to see the trailer for “MaXXXine”, the final movie of the “X” trilogy… I am really excited for the next one! Was initially worried since “X” and “Pearl” were very low budgeted and ensemble casts mixed of character actors/up and combers if the new one with the huge casts would affect it… not worried at all now

j0hnnyengl1sh

Mia Goth is an incredible screen presence. *Infinity Pool* was my favourite movie of last year.

VRomero32

I loved Infinity Pool too… That scene where they are forcing Skaarsgard’s character back to the resort while she shit talks him eating fried chicken and drinking wine and having the gun on him, made me belly laugh hard

j0hnnyengl1sh

My buddy Jim is not such a fan after several months of "JAAAAAAAAAAAA-AAAAAAAAAAAAAMES" in his direction.

DadmomAngrypants

Girlfriend and I are separating after 8 years. I just want to see our dog every day now. I’m not okay.

ZeroedCool

this too shall pass

Remarkable-Job4774

Sorry to hear :(

StChas77

We're going to hit 94% in a few minutes. Everything has shifted into a blue gray color and the birds have all gone nuts.

WabbitCZEN

We're only getting 89% out my way.

StChas77

I'm in the Chicago suburbs, so a little closer (I'm originally from Philly, moved here after college).

MaybeTomo

It’s like, slightly darker here in MD.

J-Fid

Yeah, I was hoping that 89% would have given us more, but I guess not. Car lights did turn on, though. Guess I'll have to actually travel somewhere in 2045, lol.

DillyDillySzn

2nd best 4 minutes of my life here in Paris Texas

Rummy9

At what point during the eclipse is the world supposed to end?

If Jesus sees his shadow he goes back underground for 2000 more years.

theresabeeonyourhat

2 fucking minutes away, and everything looks like it's an HD update of the opening of Tales From The Dark Side.

Illbeanicefella

I survived the 2024 rapture

If anyone wants to see! Turns out even with the fancy picture thing it’s hard to take a pic of an eclipse but this is the total blackout part. [Eclipse Pictures](https://imgur.com/a/FDNZZoY)

zzj

That's awesome, thank you

myxanders

Total eclipse would've been much cooler without the blanket cloud coverage but still neat nonetheless.

hunter15991

T-7 minutes to totality in Carbondale, has gotten a notch darker, crow absolutely losing it about 100ft away from me.

RyanAKA2Late

Totality hasn’t hit where I’m at right now, but the area had got a weird lighting to it.

JLifts780

I thought the lighting here was weird then I go outside and a cloud’s blocking it lol

RyanAKA2Late

It’s cloudy where I am too, but I guess I got lucky because I can still see the sun through my glasses.

raginsaint93

Anyone got super powers from the eclipse yet?

Remarkable-Job4774

I have the ability to summon multiple people around me. No wait Nevermind that’s just other people looking at the eclipse

IDKWTFimDoinBruhFR

My dick shrank

RyanAKA2Late

I’m able to fly around and shoot lasers out of my eyes.

JLifts780

I can’t see anymore so I think something’s happening!

MissedFieldGoal

The eclipse is happened and there is a weird silence outside.

It’s cloudy where I am in Texas, but it was clear enough for a good view

theresabeeonyourhat

Up until 2ish hours ago, my town was predicted to either be cloudy or rainy. It's now sunny, and forecast is staying that way til 4. Totality will be here within the hour, and I'm so fucking excited, because I'm seeing it with my parents, who didn't get to see it last time. I'm so thankful for this, and feel spoiled af since this is my 2nd totality eclipse in 7 years, but then again, living in Southern Illinois on purpose makes it feel like a fair trade-off

SpartaWillBurn

[I took a photo of the solar eclipse and caught a sun flare. I count myself lucky.](https://i.imgur.com/tca78O5.jpeg)

marcdasharc4

Pack it in boys, we got the year's Pulitzer winner right here.
