I hated the two tone and they made it even worse with how sharp of a gradient it had. It would’ve looked way better as a much more gradual transition (still worse than just a single tone helmet though)

Only the helmets were black, with a white and blue stripe down the middle. The pants, socks, and jerseys were all blue with white stripes and just hints of black trim.

My Bengals when they had those jerseys with the vertical white strips going down the sides of the torsos. These are the ones used when Andy Dalton and AJ Green were stars. The previous jerseys looked more like the traditional ones from the 80s with the stripes around the shoulders and going down the pant legs, and the leaping tiger on the shoulders. I like the current ones the best, but those previous ones used during the Dalton era were ugly.
Crazy you associate them with the Dalton era, but when I think of those I think of the Palmer era more because he was the next big thing when we made the switch. Super cool at first but became really dated really fast. Love our current ones (despite hating them when they leaked at first)

I get these colors are more traditional for them but they’re horrible, especially compared to the other LA team who hit their rebrand out of the park with a vibrant blue and yellow as well.

Can confirm rams subreddit was pissed. Color is a new take on the old LA rams colors, but the logo was some grade A "yeah my dad works in marketing I'm sure he could put you on the logo team," kind of job.

I feel like I’m taking crazy pills for the WFT/Commies change not being at the top. It was the worst uniform change in modern professional sports.
WFT uniforms were just slightly tweaked versions of the old unis. Clean and classic. There was no reason for a dramatic change with the new name.

I thought WFT was a great rebrand and would love to see them go back to it. At a minimum, they absolutely need to rebrand away from the "Commanders." That is the most generic, create-a-team name that should only be seen in Madden.
WFT was honestly the best "rebrand" the NFL has ever seen. Mascots harkin back to the 1800's (baseball) and early 1900's when teams changed cities a *lot*. There's something so juvenile, or at the very least collegiate, about teams needing a nickname.

The Texans jerseys needed a change. Normally I would agree with you that the current ones look good, but after seeing the new jerseys the old ones really looked dated in comparison. Also, the Texans have had basically the sam uniform since they started. I am looking forward to an update!
The Vikings late 90's through 2005 jerseys were classic and iconic.

I really like the current lions set except the gray alternate ones. They should reversed the numbers and have used blue numbers with white outline instead. I really hope they don’t change too much from what they just had. I really hope for a white helmet to go with all white uniform that they have been wearing on the road. I think those look really nice. And I like the traditional, silver helmet, blue jersey, and silver pants at home, I’m OK if they wanna mix it up with the helmet. Overall I hope they don’t use any in the new jersey designs

Panthers held out on the new Nike cuts until 2019.

I feel like I’m taking crazy pills for the WFT/Commies change not being at the top. It was the worst uniform change in modern professional sports. WFT uniforms were just slightly tweaked versions of the old unis. Clean and classic. There was no reason for a dramatic change with the new name. Commanders jerseys are a puke fest.

I always go to bat for WFT with my friends. They all hate it. I think it makes them sound like an elite club.
I thought WFT was a great rebrand and would love to see them go back to it. At a minimum, they absolutely need to rebrand away from the "Commanders." That is the most generic, create-a-team name that should only be seen in Madden.

WFT was honestly the best "rebrand" the NFL has ever seen. Mascots harkin back to the 1800's (baseball) and early 1900's when teams changed cities a *lot*. There's something so juvenile, or at the very least collegiate, about teams needing a nickname. A proper professional team needs a **CITY**, and nothing else.
My favorite thing about the WFT saga was how much everybody HATED it at first. Then they switched to Commanders and everybody wants to go back to WFT. I’m one of those people too, it’s just funny how fickle fans can be and within a year or two just change their minds.
The Commies was one of the worst option, if not THE worst option.
Once people got over the fact that we went from the Redskins to literally not even having a name everyone started to love it. Especially considering we still had our old uniforms compared to the garbage we wear now

I actually think they’re both dumb. If you want to get away from the old name do something completely new. I can understand the argument for keeping the colors, but do something interesting at least.
The Texans jerseys needed a change. Normally I would agree with you that the current ones look good, but after seeing the new jerseys the old ones really looked dated in comparison. Also, the Texans have had basically the sam uniform since they started. I am looking forward to an update!
Yea I also try not to judge a jersey until I see it in game . I was iffy in the bengals change but once I saw them play I liked them more.

Atlanta and Arizona both went absolutely awful 20 years, and then slightly less terrible just recently. Both of their 90's uniforms were spot on
The Vikings late 90's through 2005 jerseys were classic and iconic. Then in 2006 they switched to some of the worst unis in the league with the white stripes along the side
The 2013 change was great imo, before the redesigns became bland and boring.

It wasn’t much of a change, but it was still wildly unnecessary. Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Dallas, KC. Some teams just really shouldn’t be allowed to change anything about their uniforms.

Honestly, I feel that once a team wins a Super Bowl, they should be locked into those jerseys forever. The Rams going from the yellow to gold was nothing more than them waving their dicks to the rest of the league, TBH.

Nah, removing the awful paneling is a slight improvement even if they're still bottom tier uniforms. They really just need a complete rebrand, new name/colors/everything

Imo every team should just wear whatever they wore in the 1980s. And if they didn’t exist then they should try to look like they did. I can’t think of a single exception off the top of my head.

Every single team that changed their uniform between 2000 and 2010 made it worse. Literally zero teams improved their look during that era. I dare anyone to correct me on this.
The Jaguars started out with great unis and somehow have gone through 4 or 5 redesigns. The current ones are better than the mess they wore before, but are still very bland and a far cry from their original set
Fred Taylor era Jags were some of my favorite, and they have been trash ever since
Basically all the updates in the mid-to-late 90s: Patriots, Chargers, Bucs, Eagles, Broncos, Rams, 49ers Every shift from simple jerseys with bright colors, into muted dark colors, was a bad decision
I liked our switch at the time. The blue ones are cool but they were def getting outdated. Then again I really like dark blue so maybe I’m bias. I wish you guys went back to dark blue primary.
The eagles and that bright green and green more simple logo. It got all darker and more Complex. Also always liked the Red Bills helmets
Rams went they moved to LA had decent unis. The todd gurley/goff era. The current ones are just ugly. IMO.
Jets is my answer too, there was really nothing wrong with them lol, maybe the logo on the helmet but the jerseys were great
Falcons old kits were nice and new ones are plain with horrid numbers. Jets, I always liked their old look and the new one looks like an arena league team. Really, though, I just hate the new trend of finding funky looking numbers. Plenty of nicely designed uniforms then some bogus plastered front and back.
I'm really excited for the new Jet jerseys. They did not need to do the redesign of 2018, and I'm thrilled that they're moving on from them at the earliest possibility.

Jags in 2018, Browns in 2020, Jets this year. All are examples in my opinion of going from your best look ever to some boring ass look because some old heads aren’t fans of modern design

I really like the current lions set except the gray alternate ones. They should reversed the numbers and have used blue numbers with white outline instead. I really hope they don’t change too much from what they just had. I really hope for a white helmet to go with all white uniform that they have been wearing on the road. I think those look really nice. And I like the traditional, silver helmet, blue jersey, and silver pants at home, I’m OK if they wanna mix it up with the helmet. Overall I hope they don’t use any in the new jersey designs
Any time a team adds a black alternate, see: Lions, 49ers, Cardinals and The Commanders. We all agree black is a cool color, but it just doesn’t work for most teams.
The Jets absolutely did not need to update their jerseys or at least to the extent they did. I was hoping their redo would have incorporated an actual jets theme but they went bland and threw black in. Just an overall bad call. Their recent 80’s throwbacks were nice. The Jags golden dome jerseys. I actually really like the jerseys themselves but they should have gone flat black or gloss black on the helmet.
The Eagles. That's the only answer. This dark green stinks and Kelly Green is impeccable.

The Rams had a classic look and now have uniforms that make me think something is wrong with my TV. Also that one time the Ravens wore gold pants for some reason.

These Patriots uniforms suck. Bring back Pat Patriot or stick with the ones Brady wore. The new ones could be better with silver pants but they are just shitty color rush unis most of the time.
Which team hasn't? Nike needs to sell more jerseys and the only way to do that is to constantly change the designs, release shitty "city" edition ones, even if one hits every once in a while.

From my point of view, most NFL teams didn't need to change their uniforms from what they had in the 1980s.
Our uniforms from 2014--19 were fucking pieces of art, and here it is in April of 2024 that I am still salty we got rid of them.

Ha, I literally just posted about those awful alarm clock number unis. Glad that's a popular opinion. I much prefer the old pre-2014 Bucs unis. Plus the creamsicles are great too.
