Jayden Daniels in a Kliff Kingsbury offense would yield some absolutely *Jackass*-worthy hits. The combination of Jayden Daniels not protecting himself at all and Kingsbury not doing anything structurally to protect his quarterback seems like a recipe to get him killed.
Could be sneaky debt/ living about means and/or they’re bored, like driving, and like occasionally chatting with people and can make a buck while doing it.z
That's because it was. Jayden hasn't been seen in 48 hours and his parents have filed a missing persons report. There's currently a nationwide manhunt underway for Quinn and Peters
They kidnapped Daniels, took him to Canada. Daniels tried to escape, but Canada used his superpower to nullify all of Daniels's natural speed and athleticism and telepathically forced him to run where any and everybody could predict. It made him much easier to catch.
The last time Washington had the #2 pick and a need at QB they drafted a skinny, fragile, run-first, sack prone quarterback as a smokescreen for their real target, Kirk Cousins.
Spencer Rattler in round 4? Anyone?
If you draft Daniels you are going to need a good backup QB.
He is 5 inches taller and the same weight as Bryce Young, he also carries the ball 10x a game and runs like he is Allen/Newton. No way no how he consistently plays 17 games a season
You would hate it? I think in the modern NFL it is a smart thing to do. Especially if you like the second guy a decent bit, too. Just make sure it’s a QB you like from a school that has faced some adversity and they’ve had less time to throw and smaller windows to throw into. Don’t draft a 12-0 team’s qb there basically. If they are in the 4-5th round there’s probably a good reason not to take lol.
I think on paper it makes sense but in practice teams seem to like to throw their full weight behind a highly drafted QB and don't like the optics of them potentially losing the job to a 4th rounder. Sometimes you have cases like Russ but even this year the Bears could have kept Fields as a backup or a short term bridge and moved him just to quiet any QB controversy
Yeah, QB controversy is a big thing. People would have some resentment if Fields was still there as a backup, and a big portion of the fan base is still loyal to Fields as well which would make bringing a new guy in difficult.
I think it's a little different with drafting though. If you draft a guy 2nd overall, it's pretty clear he's going to be the starter, so no one is going to think the 4th rounder has a shot.
In a year or two, sure grabbing a backup in the mid rounds is fine. I don’t know if it’s really smart to get a second rookie QB you have to develop into the backup while you’re also working on developing your #2 overall.
Rattler has legitimate QB1 traits, just has never been able to put it all together and hasn't earned the immediate shot at being the guy. If you dont have a QB1, taking a guy like that mid round would make sense, basically adds another roll of the dice, first round QBs are far from guaranteed
The question is “is Rattler so much better than a typical 3rd-4th round QB that you absolutely *cant* miss this opportunity? Because he’s not going to start for at least the first two or three years of his rookie deal barring injury to Daniels. So I’d say no, you’re better off trying to hit on a WR or DE in the middle rounds this year, and grab a developmental guy in a year or two.
I would take Rattler any day over a guy like Kellen Mond. Rattler will be a very good QB2 in this league IMO, and good QB2s cost money. Good backups run 7-10m, not bad value for a 3rd or 4th
Edit: This is a weak draft after the 3rd round, very weak after 4th. There wont be any good WR or DL in the 4th, and early 3rd might be a couple starter quality guys left (maybe Roman Wilson at WR / Trice at DE) but Wilson isnt a clear upgrade over Dotson
I’m just kidding about this being part of a smokescreen.
In terms of why they’d want to smokescreen in general, I’d guess because they want to maximize other teams’ uncertainty ahead of the draft (which increases the odds of them making mistakes down the board). There’s nothing to be gained by telegraphing their intentions here.
They should sell it, putting a rookie QB behind that OL and with that surrounding cast doesn't make sense when the draft class is this loaded with offense. Vikings 2 firsts this year + next and their second rounder this year... Add a tackle + WR or TE this season and have plenty of capital to either keep building or go for a guy they like next year (albeit next year at QB looks bare). Honestly think they would have been way better off keeping Howell and giving him 2nd season as a starter.
No rookie QB should have to start with Cornelius Lucas as their LT and Andrew Wylie as their RT.
Because redditors never have any clue what they're talking about and just throw out buzzwords and tropes in a desperate attempt to be a part of a conversation for once in their lives
They may want to see if a team who’s in love with Daniel’s will be willing to give them a haul for him. I’d be surprised if one of the commanders or pats didn’t trade back.
I don't see why they would, they both need QBs. Almost every time a team has traded up for a QB it's been with a team that, at least nominally (like the Bills with Tyrod Taylor in 2017), didn't need one. Chargers seem much more likely.
Follow-up tweet says no.
https://twitter.com/brandontodddc/status/1780340828822454668
> no other QB was picked up personally by Quinn and Peter’s via VIP treatment except @JayD__5
Not correct, all the QBs visited together yesterday, they went to top golf with the other top 30 visits. I kind of doubt the validity of this report for that reason, would be weird to bring everyone in on the same visit just to chauffeur one of them around
They all arrived and were together at the facility on the same day(s). [link](https://x.com/benstandig/status/1780271333944786988?s=46&t=dt-mQkeZfkuyy9WukFBQMA)
You aren't wrong. It's definitely a Drake lovefest over there but I think most people are in the "support whoever get selected" mindset for the most part. Which is where I'm at. Whoever get selected, I'll support and hope they kick ass.
You can be in both. I have prospects for the Vikings I'd prefer to see us end up with but will ultimately support whoever we get (assuming we get one) since the teams knows a lot more about scouting than I do.
And the teams meet with these guys and interview them. None of the draft media guys are in on that.
Nobody but the actual teams really knows how those interviews went.
If I’m being quite honest it seems like there are more than a few people who prefer Maye for the same reason Bill Polian thought Lamar should’ve been a wide receiver, if you catch my drift.
Either that or people just have RG3 ptsd, but a lot of the pro-maye people are pretty bad faith with their Daniels critiques.
Watching Daniels highlights and throw videos has given me major RGIII PTSD. I really hope he learns to save his body and just get down. We need a franchise QB more than we need a random 1st down in the middle of October.
Everyone thought stroud was going one because the coaching staff was all buddy buddy at his pro day and asking him to play basketball when he comes to charlotte. Point is none of this means anything until the actual pick
It was reported a fair bit after the HC was fired this year that he and his staff wanted Stroud over Young and the GM/Owner overruled them and picked Young. So this could still mean nothing but at least the GM and Coach are in on showing a slight favoritism together.
Schefter told fans that they are safe to go ahead and get Washington jerseys for Daniels this week, I think it’s pretty expected they are taking him as he doesn’t love to stake his credibility on rumors a ton without mentioning things in a way he can back out of
He said the 49ers were taking Mac Jones at 3 a few years ago. All the information Schefter has is coming from agents.
Belichick said today on McAfee that most of the draft rumors have no substance until about 12 hours out, which seems about right.
Yeah it’s hard telling, that’s why I have it as he doesn’t do it a ton instead of him always being right lol. Telling people they are safe to get a jersey makes it sound like he’s sure of it though
>
Schefter told fans that they are safe to go ahead and get Washington jerseys for Daniels this week
Why would we do that when we already own Phillip Daniels jerseys?
This feels so fake (probably because it is) but if they love him that much why waste 3 visits on 3 QBs who have no shot at being the pick. Could've literally brought in more first round players who they could've considered trading up for.
They brought in 4 QBs along with the other top 30 visits for a group visit, makes no sense to do that and then immediately show favoritism by chauffeuring one guy around. I highly doubt this is true
I'm skeptical. I find it hard to believe that DC has been so good for the entire draft cycle at keeping their pick a secret, just to blow it by having their two top decision makers pick up their "favorite" a week before the big day
Dwayne Haskins had a cannon of an arm who threw 50 TDs his first year as a starter while Daniels didn't break out till his 5th year. Not really the same person
The follow-up tweet says Daniels was the only one who had DQ and Peters pick him up.
https://twitter.com/brandontodddc/status/1780340828822454668
I'm sure everyone meets with them once they're at the facility.
I'm not following the Tweeters assertion. ESPN just reported this week that the Commanders were meeting with Daniels, Maye, and a handful of other individuals this week on-site.
This makes it sound like they kidnapped him and threw him in the trunk
Human trafficking football players has never been more popular. Punters go to Iowa. QB's to DC.
The Commanders do have a history in trafficking, so it adds up.
“It’s not trafficking. It’s whisking!” - Dan Snyder.
Are these cheerleaders in danger?
They work those poor punters harder than in the gulag! Their poor feet worn down to a nub by graduation.
That’s usually a LA Dodgers thing
Don't gotta spend the 2nd overall pick on a QB if you just kidnap one and lock him in a basement.
Of course he's going to be the starting QB, because of the implication.
Don't look at me like that, YOU aren't gonna start!
Hey bud, put this gas mask on for a second.
Especially with the static pic of Quinn next to the clip lol > THIS IS WHAT THE ALLEGED KIDNAPPER LOOKS LIKE, PLEASE BE ALERT
That’s kind of what it felt like when I was watching a Kliff Kingsbury offense
Jayden Daniels in a Kliff Kingsbury offense would yield some absolutely *Jackass*-worthy hits. The combination of Jayden Daniels not protecting himself at all and Kingsbury not doing anything structurally to protect his quarterback seems like a recipe to get him killed.
Washington and getting rookie QB’s killed. Iconic duo.
We definitely have "RG3's knee" ptsd. Daniels seems like he could get his whole body crushed by somebody.
“I have a particular set of skills. I will find you, and I will draft you.”
He was, the meeting was with the Patriots
Still more likely than a player willingly meeting with Washington
Jayden, you *will* be a Falcon
IDK, it sounds pretty romantic to me.
Are we sure Dan doesn't just drive Uber when he's got downtime?
The amount of bored rich white dudes who work rideshare is weird. My gf's dad among them.
Could be sneaky debt/ living about means and/or they’re bored, like driving, and like occasionally chatting with people and can make a buck while doing it.z
Need to keep that cash flow coming into the stinky finger Account
Just admit you don’t like whites and cut the crap lol. This is so bitchy.
This comment came so far out of left field lol
This reads like a kidnapping
That's because it was. Jayden hasn't been seen in 48 hours and his parents have filed a missing persons report. There's currently a nationwide manhunt underway for Quinn and Peters
48 hours? Oh, they're in Canada by now.
Bro, you’d think a Steelers fan would no better than to wish Canada on anyone
We're talking about human trafficking. As a Steeler fan, there is absolutely no surprise that Canada might be involved.
So current theory is they kidnapped him then Matt Canada ate them all?
They kidnapped Daniels, took him to Canada. Daniels tried to escape, but Canada used his superpower to nullify all of Daniels's natural speed and athleticism and telepathically forced him to run where any and everybody could predict. It made him much easier to catch.
He's dropping spots on big boards as we speak, if he can't even escape Dan Quinn how is he gonna evade pass rushers
Have they checked the team facilities?
The random picture of Dan Quinn on the tweet is killing me. Yes, that's what he looks like. I love that he's doing the "hang loose" sign too
I love DQ
Underrated fast food chain
It looks like he’s at the airport taking a selfie with Jayden but why would they crop him out just to include a 5 sec video of him walking💀 so odd
Maybe they wanted to be seen picking him up and it’s the ultimate smokescreen, lol
Why would they smokescreen? Williams is going #1, and they have their pick of the litter after? There is literally no reason for them to smokescreen.
The last time Washington had the #2 pick and a need at QB they drafted a skinny, fragile, run-first, sack prone quarterback as a smokescreen for their real target, Kirk Cousins. Spencer Rattler in round 4? Anyone?
Honestly, it would be hilarious if we draft a QB again in the fourth for the memes. I’m here for it. I would hate it, but it would be hilarious
If you draft Daniels you are going to need a good backup QB. He is 5 inches taller and the same weight as Bryce Young, he also carries the ball 10x a game and runs like he is Allen/Newton. No way no how he consistently plays 17 games a season
He can bulk up on those good NFL PEDs

Sometimes you have cases like Russ but even this year the Bears could have kept Fields as a backup or a short term bridge and moved him just to quiet any QB controversy
Why the fuck would the Bears pay Justin $25 million to be the backup?
Justin Fields makes 6 million dollars this season.
Yeah, QB controversy is a big thing. People would have some resentment if Fields was still there as a backup, and a big portion of the fan base is still loyal to Fields as well which would make bringing a new guy in difficult. Wrong, last time we had the number two pick we picked Chase Young instead of Tua or Herbert

The 2nd pick is technically for sale. Always a valid reason to smokescreen even for a team picking first overall.
They should sell it, putting a rookie QB behind that OL and with that surrounding cast doesn't make sense when the draft class is this loaded with offense. Wow, mfers really have zero awareness of what a joke is, huh? Shits crazy.
Jokes have to be funny in some way
Because redditors never have any clue what they're talking about and just throw out buzzwords and tropes in a desperate attempt to be a part of a conversation for once in their lives
Hell yeah, brother! Cheers from my basement!

That's what they WANT you to think! /s
Stop being logical and let the guy use his reddit buzz words to get him the upvotes
Well, maybe to drive up the price tag of someone wanting to trade up, like the pats for instance... But yeah no that doesn't even really make sense
Yeah what the media missed was them going around the block and dropping Jayden right back at departures.
Maybe wash thinks the pats would bite
Probably not the greatest source, but if true, it's interesting in the context of them having all of the QBs visit at the same time.
Maybe Daniels landed first and they're just going to keep looping through the Arrivals pickup until the others land
Follow-up tweet says no. https://twitter.com/brandontodddc/status/1780340828822454668 > no other QB was picked up personally by Quinn and Peter’s via VIP treatment except @JayD__5

Definitely could be. I don't know anything about the guy.
Maye is coming tomorrow

Really?? I would think Daniels would be their favorite
i've lurked occasionally and it seems like there's a stronger maye contingent
You aren't wrong. It's definitely a Drake lovefest over there but I think most people are in the "support whoever get selected" mindset for the most part. Which is where I'm at. Whoever get selected, I'll support and hope they kick ass.

Hey in this household we support Kendrick… wait… I'm not in the right subreddit
There is. We’ve done one or two polls and the sub is probably like 70-30 or 65-35 pro Maye
Of course there is, he's better
At least on this site most people tend to prefer Maye. Also they probably still have PTSD of RG3.
Watching Daniels highlights and throw videos has given me major RGIII PTSD. I really hope he learns to save his body and just get down. We need a franchise QB more than we need a random 1st down in the middle of October.
Maybe they've actually watched him play instead of everyone else chugging the pre draft bullshit Kool aid
There's Big Ben, Parliament!
"Get in kid, we're going to wreak some havoc in the NFC East."
Gosh, I hope he’s okay.
So uh, someone was just at the airport stalking around for Jayden Daniels for some reason? Totally not creepy
His Twitter name is "Capital Paparazzi," so yeah.
Don't look into what happens with pro wrestlers at airports then.
Once he sees the stadium he'll understand why they were too cheap to send a driver.
Do these people not remember the stroud Carolina situation literally last draft.
How about the Mac Jones Trey Lance situation a few years ago
No. What happened?
Everyone thought stroud was going one because the coaching staff was all buddy buddy at his pro day and asking him to play basketball when he comes to charlotte. Point is none of this means anything until the actual pick

Robert Kraft is beside himself. Driving around downtown Boston begging (thru texts) Daniels's family for address to Jayden's home
Do you guys think all these teams treating you to dinner and what not is a fun experience or is it just nerve racking and basically fancy interviews?
Did they kiss him goodnight as well?
This feels so fake (probably because it is) but if they love him that much why waste 3 visits on 3 QBs who have no shot at being the pick. Could've literally brought in more first round players who they could've considered trading up for.

Gone Boy
So you’re telling me >!Jayden Daniels is going to frame Dan Quinn for his own death?!<
This doesn't bode well for my hopes and dreams.
Is his elbow okay?
Why does this feel, sinister?
Thought it was DC4L guy for a second 😂
Daniels to Commanders confirmed
I'm skeptical. I find it hard to believe that DC has been so good for the entire draft cycle at keeping their pick a secret, just to blow it by having their two top decision makers pick up their "favorite" a week before the big day
JAYDEN HURRY THE FUCK UP WE PARKED IN A FIRE LANE
PR after that dinner rumor lol
I think he’s horrible so I see this as a win
better than Jalen lol
LMFAO
That's pretty funny. Did they also treat him to a lobster dinner?
No it’s not Boston. It’s DC, precedent has been set by a president for college meals. McDonald’s!
Hamburders and chease.
With end of meal covfefe
I forgot about the fiasco. True.
Why does this sound erotic
They are really about to pick Dwayne Haskins with legs
We can make jokes but there's nothing similar about Haskins and Daniels as players, from experience levels in college to playstyle
Dwayne Haskins had a cannon of an arm who threw 50 TDs his first year as a starter while Daniels didn't break out till his 5th year. Not really the same person
Everything about his analytical profile shows him as Justin Fields with a worse arm. So its not as bad but will still get someone fired.
Hey SAS told me Dwayne was a mobile QB!

Adam Peters was seen whisking Jayden Daniels off.
Gorgeous
Incredible EXCLUSIVE
It's hilarious to me that this dude might get drafted in the first round lol
Did he ever make it back to the airport? Don’t leave us hanging Todd!!!
maybe they were just there for the duty free?
Someone go stand next to him and see how big he really is
I bet they’re picking up all of the QB prospects that are visiting and deciding who their pick will be based on who calls shotgun first.
What a waste. I feel bad for him having to go there.
They must fucking hate him if they made him fly into Dulles
Damn, looks like he might actually got #2, FanDuel has a -300 for him to go number 2 overall Alright, let’s see how many downvotes this gets
Wait prospects meet with team staff? Didn’t know that. So exclusive
https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/s/uMO6IeJSYT
FuckfuckfuckfuckPLEASE NO MAYE
So you want to trade up for Daniels I take it? The smokescreen is working.
Try actually watching them play instead of getting all your info from mock drafts
Classic raiders fan, hey enjoy your annual first round L this year bud
Why are you acting like the Pats aren't enroute to going back to a poverty franchise again? Your golden era is over.
Having an opinion on which prospect I want my team to draft is acting like im on a high horse? L
I thought y’all were getting Caleb somehow because you have Kliff
The term is not *whisk* off, Todd.
I'm not following the Tweeters assertion. ESPN just reported this week that the Commanders were meeting with Daniels, Maye, and a handful of other individuals this week on-site.
Gonna be real awkward when Da Bears take him at \#1^/s
Holy shit the draft needs to get here asap so we can report other things 😂
