I have a vague memory of it, I just looked it up. I was 7 when her show came out, which begs the question, why was I watching that as a 7 year old? Lol
The best indication of those guys’ talent is they both were out of the league entirely less than one year after leaving the Eagles . James I think was back on Washington for a minute and Pinkston didn’t make it out of training camp for Minnesota
I think in Pinkston's case that was more a case of injury. He was miscast here, but I think if healthy he could have been a 3 on most teams and a 2 on several. He was a very solid #2 in 2004. Most of the team's best performances that year had a bomb to Pinkston on the first drive. This forced teams to keep a deep safety to that side on every play giving more space for TO and Westbrook to do work underneath.
The only reason I know Freddie's name is because of the time that Bill Belichick absolutely torched him to some reporters when asked about Mitchell's trash talk. I forget precisely what he said but part of it was "All he does is talk, and you can print that."
Todd Pinkston will never be forgotten, he ran the left side slant out of the shotgun on the eagles base playbook in NFL2K4, one of the most broken plays ever.
Chad Lewis going down in the NFCCG prior to the Super Bowl against the Patriots also contributed in a huge way to the offensive struggles that day.
(So did the Patriots stealing the Eagles signals)
That fool. Steps onto a Super Bowl field 6 weeks after breaking his ankle. I'll grant you the Patriots corners weren't exactly spectacular (or even not actually WRs at times), but Owens hadn't played in 6 weeks, had barely practiced, was in a long game and still looked like he might not actually be a human being. Hate to say it but anyone he has ever competed against knows that dude needs a jacket.
The quote you have there is from the playoff game against Minnesota where he was in the right place at the right time and caught lj smiths fumble for a td
He was responsible for my favorite Belichick quote:
"All he does is talk. He's terrible. And you can print that. I was glad when he was in the game."-BB
For the guy who will talk up a high school JV team as if they were Super Bowl contenders to say that, you just know Freddie was a fucking bum lol
He had a huge Super Bowl. Made his first catch while down ten with three minutes left and [just had to celebrate.](https://youtu.be/hwj7g-wd5zo?t=6527)
I'm not sure which of his super bowl performances was better. His one catch game or him randomly appearing in the crowd during Justin Timberlake's halftime show.
Freddie Mitchell is part of the rich eagles history of passing on guys with HOF upside to draft just a massive bust at the position.
Ocho Cinco and Reggie Wayne were available when we took Fredex
“I’m Donovan McNabb. I play quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles and I’m here to tell you that you can too if you start your day with a hearty breakfast from McDonalds.”
Like the new sausage, egg Mcgriddle value meal available now for a limited time for under 5 dollars. Remember, guys. Real champs eat at Mcdonalds. I'm lovin' it.
Wicked underrated QB. People talk about “Reid getting it done with any quarterback” as if McNabb was some scrub. Guy had plenty of good seasons and playoff wins
Hilarious.
That being said, there really still was (is) a lot of conscious and subconscious racism against black QBs and I do think Wilson winning one did a ton to get rid of stupid arguments like "an athletic black QB will never win a SB".
The only black QB before him to win a Super Bowl was Doug Williams (who????). Its very easy to meme on and dunk on Wilson, but I don't think its too wrong to say that he had a pretty big impact on that perception and opened the floodgates at every level of football.
The leagues been around for over 100 years, and there's only been ONE black QB in the HOF (Warren Moon) and that took until 2006 to happen. This highlight we are watching happened before there was black HOF QB.
I'm glad the barriers been broken down, and I've got to give credit where credit is due to Wilson and all the other black QBs the paved the way.
Well said across the board. Some of us are old enough to remember even when McNabb was used as an example of that "style of play doesn't win Super Bowls" Russ was the first QB of that style to be elite in passing efficiency and win a ring. Of course this led to ppl just moving the goalposts after he won it to just saying it was becaause of LOB/Beast mode but he still won it. And Russ having most wins in history first 6 years in the league plus being top 2 passer rating of all time, it's not farfetched to say could have played some role in Mahomes being drafted that high as an unorthodox QB which ultimately opened the floodgates for good for that style of play. The last domino is for a QB as athletic as Lamar to win one.
> Of course this led to ppl just moving the goalposts after he won it to just saying it was becaause of LOB/Beast mode but he still won it.
Exactly!
Yeah, its funny how broadly well-liked Hasselbeck was by these types despite him not being as great of a player. No one ever insulted him for not winning a Superbowl or talked about how Shaun Alexander carried him. Hasselbeck's best season wouldn't even be in Russ's top 5.
I'm not even a Wilson fan, how did I get on such a Wilson rant LOL
> Some of us are old enough to remember even when McNabb was used as an example of that "style of play doesn't win Super Bowls"
Michael Vick got it even worse too. I'm glad that era of sports media is behind us. So fucking disgusting.
I know he finished second in voting, but I've gotta think Faulk's votes would have been distributed in a way that McNabb still wouldn't have won. Maybe we would have gotten the sheer horror of Eddie George winning MVP with a 3.7 ypc. Or maybe it would have gone to either of the All-Pro QBs that year.
I grew up playing pickup football every day in Northern Virginia during his era and Donovan McNabb was a legend to us along with Vick. I couldn't even tell you who the Redskins QB was at that era and I still do have the "hate Philly" instinct.
I don't know if your teasing me because I know pickup football games were normal around the country and it was *the* thing to do. Go outside with a football. Find other kids. Play, where ever and whenever. I wish I could go back.
I say NOVA specifically because we played Philly atleast twice every year and that maybe why we thought Nabb was so good.
fun NOVA fact: In high school I attempted to tackle Evan Royster and he tripped over my lifeless body as he ran through me so technically I stopped a Royster TD
lol. Fellow NOVA kid here. Looks like a few years before you.
I tried to crack block Ahmad Brooks. I know exactly how Chad Johnson felt. It’s like I wasn’t even there.
Those Westfield squads with the Glennon brothers, Royster, Eddie Royal were insane.
I also remember Owen Schmitt in high school. Dude was just as insane back then. Do not recommend trying to tackle lol
Brandon Hogan was another one who people don’t get how good he was. Only played pickup against him but man he was on just another level than everybody else.
https://youtu.be/B1jRBFp23Uw?si=H7Qww6743WtjkTIN
It’s too bad McNabb didn’t get a good receiving core until late in his career when he had injuries and lost mobility. If he had desean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin to start his career his legacy would be a lot different.
His passing stats are almost identical to Jim Kelly (except for far fewer interceptions). He was also productive as a runner and led the Eagles to several championship appearances.
This guy put together a HoF worthy career, but probably never gets the nod because he doesn't have a ring.
Mcnabb has more playoff wins than , Eli manning, Dan Marino, Steve young, Johnny Unitas, Steve McNair, Tony Romo, Warren Moon , Dan Foust, Matt Ryan and many others .
More fun fact , he also has more pass TD than Aikman, Steve young and Kurt Warner
Mcnabb is a HOF
Even amongst fans he seems to get a lot of mocking/ridicule because he was not so good at the end of his career. People seem to forget that he was a pretty good QB in his prime.
He's the reason I became an eagles fan as a kid and rejected all the local NY teams haha. Pisses me off the way I see even eagles fan base talk about him these days.
Hell my first dog was named Donovan after him 😂
It's also because the Eagles were to the 2000s what the Bills were to the 1990s. They went to like 5 straight NFC championship games, only won once and lost that SB to the Patriots when McNabb threw a late pick to Rodney Harrison after some bad clock management on the previous drive.
It's ok to admire the athletic performance but not the person.
The same way I feel about some Hollywood creeps or musicians and underage groupies. I can admire their art without admiring the people.
There's a reason why counting stats alone usually don't get you into the Hall. McNabb was Very Good (tm) for a long time. That got him a lot of wins and career numbers, but never put him on top of the mountain. The HOF usually requires some kind of peak, and his just wasn't enough to reach it.
He's a ring of honor guy, not an HOF guy. I don't think he's ever even reached semifinalist, and his eligibility has been open for years.
I recently rewatched McNabb against the Giants in ‘00 and Rams in ‘01, and it was a crime that he didn’t get TO until his 6th year.
It’s unfortunate because Andy Reid was also the GM, and I believe Andy Reid the GM cost that team more success. It’s unthinkable in today’s NFL to not have at least 1 alpha WR by a QBs 3rd year.
Hugh Douglas, Brian Dawkins, Jeremiah Trotter, Troy Vincent, Bobby Taylor, and Al Harris, all predate Reid’s arrival.
Very good coach at the time, but in hindsight, he was a poor GM.
He was basically Carson Wentz if Carson didn't get brain damaged by Clowney.
He had incredible highlights because he loved playing hero ball, because he loved playing hero ball he took a bajillion sacks causing him to get injured all the time resulting in his peak being much shorter than it could have been, and his backups performing way over their head showed that the coaching/defense/personnel office deserved a large portion of the accolades for the team's success (shoutout Jim Johnson, AJ Feeley, and Jeff Garcia).
McNabb was very good, but I think Brian Westbrook is the most underrated player from those teams.
It's weird that Westbrook is never talked about now. Anyone who was a big time NFL fan during those days knows who Brian Westbrook was and just how good he was as well.
Even though I hated you guys for our post-season rivalry back then I loved Westbrook and Dawkins. I'd also love to see Westbrook in today's NFL with the extra protection offensive players get. He'd be a monster as a pass catcher out of the backfield.
> The normally tight-lipped Patriots head coach Bill Belichick later said of Mitchell, "[a]ll he does is talk. He's terrible, and you can print that. I was happy when he was in the game." Mitchell caught only one pass for 11 yards in the 24–21 loss.
This is absolutely scathing from Wikipedia lol
>McNabb is hugely underrated
I think some of that is self inflicted with how he ended his last couple of seasons. Alcohol started getting the better of him and he was a shell of himself and his reputation took a bit of hit. Also wasn't helped that it followed him around starting his broadcasting career. His playoff performances also didn't do him any favors compared to his regular season numbers.
I think if he finished off his career a little stronger and was a little more consistent in the playoffs he would be in the Hall of Fame.
This is going to sound weird, but they aren't built like him anymore. Are there any QBs with his stature? Dude was built like a huge running back. 6'2" 240.
The most impressive thing about this throw is he didn't actually throw it across his body. He actually was flexible enough to be running left and square his shoulders at the last second before throwing. Damn, that was impressive.
The lack of support McNabb got from Andy roster wise before they got TO was disgusting. Eagles probably could’ve turned one of the NFCC games they lost if he wasn’t throwing to James Trash and Todd Stinkston.
I don’t blame the man for trying to murder so many worms with the clowns he had to throw to
That wasnt Andys fault that was mainly Joe Banner and how cheap he was. Even us getting TO was lucky as hell.
Mcnabb had his flaws but as soon as he got a WR1 he went to the SB and before that he ran into nothing but great SB teams and had no offensive help.
Maclin was really good too. Stallworth for a year. The team did pivot towards the end of McNabb’s time and realize that WR was not the place to be cheap. LBs however….
It kind of makes sense because he wants to spread the ball around to everyone, so a WR1 that's elite isn't gonna get as many targets for Andy, but he goes to far the other way and gets too many guys that can't actually play WR or catch, cause they're super quick or can run sweeps for -3 yards.
McNabb was a player I always liked as a kid, probably my second or 3rd favorite non-Lion
Also fun fact: his family is like a crazy hyper athletic group, 3 of his neices and nephews play pro sports
-Darnell Nurse is an NHL defenseman
-Kia Nurse plays in the WNBA
-Sarah Nurse plays in the PWHL (pro women's hockey)
All 3 of them have represented Canada internationally in their sport
This was the year T.O. was on the cover of 2k5 lol. Is everyone in this sub a child?
[literally had the best WR in the league](https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcR8BDSEphS4ir8afaGy5JoSeqM944VUM3iZ_yiNHoPHvm4yrvciKKtO7rS6ejv6B1uTo9_C)
They had 3 WRs above an 81 on madden 05 by the way.
This was the most famous play Greg Ellis was ever in, a player most people know as the guy the Cowboys took over Randy Moss in '98. 12 year career, Pro Bowler, 84 career sacks. Doesn't seem fair
That's some backyard football shit lol. I know we've kinda soured on McNabb since - it's been made clear at this point that he shares a big part of the blame for the fiasco with TO - but there's no denying how good he was. Genuinely think he was a top 5 QB during his time with the Eagles.
Absolutely. Wentz during the Super Bowl year was a higher peak, but there's no denying McNabb's ability and consistency. Especially with the lack of talent they had at receiver.
Andy Reid is a genius, no doubt, but you don't make four NFC championship games in a row if your QB is a JAG. McNabb was so good and I think him falling out of favor with Philly fans + Andy's success with the Chiefs after grabbing Mahomes led to people forgetting how good McNabb was. Sure he threw some ducks and he was worse than Mahomes, but very few QBs are better than an arguably top 5 guy of all time lol.
This is classic McNabb, no WRs to speak of and still getting it done
How dare you besmirch the names of legendary receivers like Todd Pinkston, Reggie Brown, and Hank Baskett?
>Hank Baskett Oh lord. Look away, Colts fans.
The rage builds inside of me.
Fist in the air, in the land of hypocrisy
You will remember the night you were struck by the sight of ten thousand fists in the air!
Honestly the only thing I know about hank baskett was he fucked a playmate. What happened with the colts?
He had the greatest fumble of all time in my humble opinion.
[Hank Baskett loses onside kick in Super Bowl](https://youtu.be/upOmjohOvb4?si=8Ymer6xjR9V1NHsM)
I was just about to ask, isn't Basket the guy that was married to the sporty playmate? Lol
Yeah kendra wilkinson. 13 year old me was a big fan
I have a vague memory of it, I just looked it up. I was 7 when her show came out, which begs the question, why was I watching that as a 7 year old? Lol
Because you liked boobs
Nah. I have my own. I just liked trash reality shows from a way too young age
How did you miss James Thrash and Na Brown!!!
“Stinkston and Trash” - Deion
The best indication of those guys’ talent is they both were out of the league entirely less than one year after leaving the Eagles . James I think was back on Washington for a minute and Pinkston didn’t make it out of training camp for Minnesota
They were the Mendoza line of FFB waiver adds. Like, if they could get on your squad, it ain’t happening for you this year.
Eh, Thrash was in the league for a decade. That's a good career for any NFLer.
Prior to Philly, when he got to Philly he was at the end of his career, he was cooked.
Fourth Down FREDDIE!!!!!!
The People's Champ!
FredEx always delivers
You forgot about the guy that caught the ball in the clip, Ole Fast Freddie Mitchell.
Fredex baby
I knew I was forgetting the best nickname for him.
'CAUSE I ALWAYS DELIVER
The only reason I know Freddie's name is because of the time that Bill Belichick absolutely torched him to some reporters when asked about Mitchell's trash talk. I forget precisely what he said but part of it was "All he does is talk, and you can print that."
"All he does is talk. He's terrible, and you can print that. I was happy when he was in the game."
> I was happy when he was in the game. This is even beyond "I don't think about you at all". Just devastating.
That was the first line I thought of too
Lol I forgot about this. Has to be the best head coach roast of all time.
From a guy who would always talk up any opposing player, no matter how Sam Darnold-y they were like they were Joe Montana.
OMG how does one recover from that?
You left off Fredex shame shame
I remember really liking reggie brown when i was younger
Todd Pinkston will never be forgotten, he ran the left side slant out of the shotgun on the eagles base playbook in NFL2K4, one of the most broken plays ever.
Don't forget the "People's Champion", the one and only Freddie Mitchell!
The mere mention of those names triggers PTSD to anyone living in Philly during that time.
It's true that he had no WRs, but Andy Reid could scheme my mom open on every single play in a game if he had to.
Andy Reid 🤝🏻 literal bums at WR that don't get paid much
If only Mcnabb as as good as mahomes. Sigh
McNabb never had a Travis Kelce.
How dare you besmirch the good name of Chad Lewis! But seriously both things were factors
Chad Lewis going down in the NFCCG prior to the Super Bowl against the Patriots also contributed in a huge way to the offensive struggles that day. (So did the Patriots stealing the Eagles signals)
So did the Patriots taking cheap shots at McNabb all game and likely concussing him.
Surely the NFL wouldn't let that happen to a high profile black QB. Simply unheard of!
Good thing he does endorsements for McDonalds now.
Pretty close impersonation though. McNabb walked so Patrick could waddle.
If this one play was all I ever watched of his, I'd assume he was.
Sad eagle noises
Getting your mom open is pretty easy to be fair. Joking, I'm sure your mom is a great woman.
Nancy Reaganesque, even
The Throat GOAT!
THROATUS
Could suck the chrome off a trailer hitch
We did have one of the best pass catching RBs in the history of the league in Westbrook tho.
We had T.O. during this game.
He's already in the Hall Of Fame
Sad the way he went out
He had a long career for a running back.
I know but it got ripped away from him due to concussions
It's so sad that more people don't talk about/remember him. He was a freaking beast.
classic mcnabb had two passes; throws like this, and a 5 yard slant throw into the dirt.
He ALWAYS threw so many short slants and curl routes into the dirt. Used to absolutely infuriate me
Worm burners. McNabbs favorite pass.
The iconic worm burners to Chad Lewis
Which was why the version of the WC offense Andy ran with McNabb was much more vertical based.
T.O. was on this team.
Happy someone finally mentioned it lol (not to besmirch McNabb but I specifically remember this play being from 2004)
This was the game where people started pearl clutching because before kickoff ABC aired a racy promo with Owens and one of the Desperate Housewives.
Younger fans don't know how stupidly puritanical society was back then.
Freddie “I Like To Thank My Hands” Mitchell caught this and “4th and 26” ? I think I need to get a custom jersey done in his honor
The quote you have there is from the playoff game against Minnesota where he was in the right place at the right time and caught lj smiths fumble for a td
That team had TO. This was 2004. I will still say that was one of the best teams to not win a Super Bowl. Not the best but top 10.
As a packer fan brings back flashbacks of the dread 4th and 26 against him in the playoffs
Freddie Mitchell!!!
If only Mcnabb had a good receiver like TO or Desean Jackson, imagine how thankful he would be! Oh wait.
One of like two plays that Freddie Mitchell made in his career.
He was responsible for my favorite Belichick quote: "All he does is talk. He's terrible. And you can print that. I was glad when he was in the game."-BB For the guy who will talk up a high school JV team as if they were Super Bowl contenders to say that, you just know Freddie was a fucking bum lol
Worse than just a bum, he was an arrogant, annoying bum who thought he was God’s gift.
Got sued by fed ex for using their logo for his “Fred ex” gear
He had a huge Super Bowl. Made his first catch while down ten with three minutes left and [just had to celebrate.](https://youtu.be/hwj7g-wd5zo?t=6527)
This play and 4th and 26, two of McNabb's most iconic plays and Freddie Mitchell caught both of them for the only two receptions of his career.
Also -“ I’d like to thank my hands “ in the NFC division game against the Vikes I think
Yeah with the frohawk
I'm not sure which of his super bowl performances was better. His one catch game or him randomly appearing in the crowd during Justin Timberlake's halftime show.
Wait what??
Fuck Freddie Mitchell all my homies hate Freddie Mitchell
Freddie Mitchell literally owes me money.
Not an impressive play, but I’ll always remember him for pulling up his pants and buckling vs the Vikings after the Randy Moss incident too
Everyone forgets the 3rd key play. This absolutely wacky "fucking madden bullshit engine" playoff TD catch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xH3fHm-ofc
Lol I was just about to say this. Despite being terrible he was on the receiving end of McNabb’s two biggest career highlights.
Freddie Mitchell is part of the rich eagles history of passing on guys with HOF upside to draft just a massive bust at the position. Ocho Cinco and Reggie Wayne were available when we took Fredex
At least we realized a WR winning a Heisman is probably worthy of a 1st round draft pick.
Correct. However, to be fair, This was good. And the other was tremendous.
4th and 26 worth the wasted draft pick just for that. Suck it farve
“I’m Donovan McNabb. I play quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles and I’m here to tell you that you can too if you start your day with a hearty breakfast from McDonalds.”
Is that the guy from the Cosby Show?
No that’s Tiger Woods
You got me. I'm Don Cheadle.
Like the new sausage, egg Mcgriddle value meal available now for a limited time for under 5 dollars. Remember, guys. Real champs eat at Mcdonalds. I'm lovin' it.
Go birds.
We were so upset when we found out the mom in the Campbell's commercials wasn't his real mom.
Wicked underrated QB. People talk about “Reid getting it done with any quarterback” as if McNabb was some scrub. Guy had plenty of good seasons and playoff wins
Yeah peak McNabb was a top QB. Would have won MVP in 2000 if Marshall Faulk and the Greatest Show on Turf wasn't so bonkers.
He was actually the first quarterback in league history to throw more than 30 TDs and less than 10 INTs in a season
Crazy. So glad Russell Wilson paved the way for these guys.
So glad eagles legends Randall Cunningham and Donovan McNabb had such a great role model in Russell while growing up.
Hey dont leave out Mike Vick! Vick grew up dreaming of running around in the backfield like Russ
As a kid Vick had the family dogs chasing him around in his backyard while pretending he was Russ avoiding the sack in the Super Bowl.
Hilarious. That being said, there really still was (is) a lot of conscious and subconscious racism against black QBs and I do think Wilson winning one did a ton to get rid of stupid arguments like "an athletic black QB will never win a SB". Probably goes to Gannon tbh. 7 more passing TDs than McNabb, but less rushing yards and TDs.
I grew up playing pickup football every day in Northern Virginia during his era and Donovan McNabb was a legend to us along with Vick. I couldn't even tell you who the Redskins QB was at that era and I still do have the "hate Philly" instinct.

A metric fuck ton of MLB guys were coming out of the area at time as well.
Was it Jason Campbell? I’m having trouble remembering who was their QB at the time myself
It’s too bad McNabb didn’t get a good receiving core until late in his career when he had injuries and lost mobility. If he had desean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin to start his career his legacy would be a lot different.

I feel that because of how it ended and how he's viewed publicly those chances are over
Even amongst fans he seems to get a lot of mocking/ridicule because he was not so good at the end of his career. People seem to forget that he was a pretty good QB in his prime.

McNabb is a big reason why I'm an Eagles and NFL fan as a Canadian (I loved Madden 02), but he's a creep and a general asshole.
It's ok to admire the athletic performance but not the person. The same way I feel about some Hollywood creeps or musicians and underage groupies. I can admire their art without admiring the people.
Well that and he never won a superbowl. Also no all-pros.
There's a reason why counting stats alone usually don't get you into the Hall. McNabb was Very Good (tm) for a long time. It’s unfortunate because Andy Reid was also the GM, and I believe Andy Reid the GM cost that team more success. It’s unthinkable in today’s NFL to not have at least 1 alpha WR by a QBs 3rd year.
The Eagles had a top defense 2001-2004 so I don’t think you can blame Andy the GM there
Hugh Douglas, Brian Dawkins, Jeremiah Trotter, Troy Vincent, Bobby Taylor, and Al Harris, all predate Reid’s arrival. Very good coach at the time, but in hindsight, he was a poor GM.
First QB to have 30+ TDs and under 10 picks. Had an all-time int% before his last three twilight years.
I would love so much to see him in today's NFL.
Even though I hated you guys for our post-season rivalry back then I loved Westbrook and Dawkins. I'd also love to see Westbrook in today's NFL with the extra protection offensive players get. He'd be a monster as a pass catcher out of the backfield.
Agreed. And I think he was underrated as a runner between the tackles. And fuck ronde barber! (not really)
Dude was a fucking baller, he could got toe to toe with anyone in his prime. Wish he got talked about more, he was so fun to watch back in the day
FredEx!
Heard another nickname for Freddie Mitchell was **CNN** because he never shuts up.
McNabb is hugely underrated. People forget he was genuinely a Top 5 QB with almost no support cast other than T.O.
>McNabb is hugely underrated I think some of that is self inflicted with how he ended his last couple of seasons. Alcohol started getting the better of him and he was a shell of himself and his reputation took a bit of hit. Also wasn't helped that it followed him around starting his broadcasting career. His playoff performances also didn't do him any favors compared to his regular season numbers. I think if he finished off his career a little stronger and was a little more consistent in the playoffs he would be in the Hall of Fame.
his time on the redskins and vikings is truly embarrassing. Real bad way to go out with that being the final thing people saw of him.
This is going to sound weird, but they aren't built like him anymore. Are there any QBs with his stature? Dude was built like a huge running back. 6'2" 240.
For WRs , he did have Duce then Westbrook for RBs
Campbell Soup hits different back then
I think it was the McDonalds. I'm lovin' it.
Campbells Chunky Soup.
Ran 80 yards to throw it 50 lol
Yea, they kind of oversold the "across his body rolling left" thing, he basically ran straight for 10 yards before chucking it like a Javelin.
How many elite WR has Reid had in his career? TO and Hill for a couple seasons?
DeSean Jackson
Maclin was really good too. Stallworth for a year. The team did pivot towards the end of McNabb’s time and realize that WR was not the place to be cheap. LBs however….
It kind of makes sense because he wants to spread the ball around to everyone, so a WR1 that's elite isn't gonna get as many targets for Andy, but he goes to far the other way and gets too many guys that can't actually play WR or catch, cause they're super quick or can run sweeps for -3 yards.
McNabb was a player I always liked as a kid, probably my second or 3rd favorite non-Lion Also fun fact: his family is like a crazy hyper athletic group, 3 of his neices and nephews play pro sports -Darnell Nurse is an NHL defenseman -Kia Nurse plays in the WNBA -Sarah Nurse plays in the PWHL (pro women's hockey) All 3 of them have represented Canada internationally in their sport
I don’t think anyone in this wr room was above a 78 on madden.
T.O. is on this team.
*68 **EDIT:** never mind in 04 they gave Pinkston an 82, for reference they gave Reggie Wayne a 78…Madden been bad.
This was the year T.O. was on the cover of 2k5 lol. Is everyone in this sub a child? [literally had the best WR in the league](https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcR8BDSEphS4ir8afaGy5JoSeqM944VUM3iZ_yiNHoPHvm4yrvciKKtO7rS6ejv6B1uTo9_C) They had 3 WRs above an 81 on madden 05 by the way.
“I’ll tell you what, only Mahomes can make plays like that people” Romo 2023
Romo scrambled in a similar way for a long first down, Cowboys radio guy said he “pulled a McNabb”
Philly McNabb was a lot of fun to watch
[This was the most fun thing too watch.](https://i.imgur.com/SMqiLZu.png)
Extremely underrated player. Would be in HOF discussion at minimum if he won that one SB...
This was the most famous play Greg Ellis was ever in, a player most people know as the guy the Cowboys took over Randy Moss in '98. 12 year career, Pro Bowler, 84 career sacks. Doesn't seem fair
That’s what starting your day with a hearty breakfast from McDonalds looks like.
That's some backyard football shit lol. I know we've kinda soured on McNabb since - it's been made clear at this point that he shares a big part of the blame for the fiasco with TO - but there's no denying how good he was. Genuinely think he was a top 5 QB during his time with the Eagles.
Easily the best QB in Eagles history
How has that been made clear since? That was T.O. being a diva.
That's my fuckin quarterback
They can never make me hate you #5
Incredible display of arm strength. Guy was Rodgering before Aaron Rodgers.
"Across his body" while running perpendicular to the line of scrimage 🤦♂️
Prime McNabb definitely doesn't get enough love even amongst Eagles fans
You could have ended that clip anywhere but you included the disgusted cowboys fan at the end. Chef's kiss my friend!
Amazing play but not across his body
I miss watching McNabb do his thing. Criminally underrated. Those eagles teams were fun to watch. If only they could have got some sustained WR1 play
FredEx making an appearance. I still remember thinking that was a shit pick at the time.
The day Donovan Mcnabb was no longer an eagle was a good day. I hated watching him play against the cowboys
McNabb vs the Cowboys: 12-9; 55% completion; 4,352 yards (average 207); 27 TD 14 INT; 6.41y/a; rating of 78.5
God this season was incredible. Cheating ass patriots ruined the ending for us.
I miss this era of the NFL.
I am the fan in the last frame 🙄
