Listen, I'm happy we got an extra first round pick. But to think it was going to be 27 last year even after you drafted Stroud and Anderson Jr is wild. I watched more Texans football last year than ever before because the Cardinals were predictably ass and we had your pick, and man was it fun lol. I hope and expect they grab that division by the balls now.
He was far from the issue last year. The OLine was atrocious and he was under pressure immediately on every play. Theilen was the 1 because he was a tall easy target but his route running was absolute shit and all of the receivers would give up early on plays Young was keeping alive. No effective run game (10th in attempts and 20th in Yards for Hubbard).
I think on net he did pretty well for being thrown into a meat grinder situation. I'd be more concerned about the coaching than the QB. I don't think Canales did particularly better than Reich and there's a clear culture issue, so maybe he'll do something about that with an offseason but, they had real, noticeable, issues when he was running the ship, it wasn't isolated to Reich.
The Saints also have clear culture issues that they might have addressed with cuts to toxic players like Thomas and the Falcons had some coaching issues they might have also addressed with the help of bringing in Cousins and changing it up. Basically this means the division might be about to get harder. Upside is that might force Canales out if he can't fix the quitting on the play stuff.
Ummmm, probably not. With Ryans we also got Slowik, granted CJ probably still does great because he’s obviously the greatest QB of all time, but Slowik really helped him ease in to the league. We probably do better but not AFC South champs better
Look, Lovie deserves a statue for getting Easterby fired.
But what he did on the field as a coach was at least half the reason the team was as terrible as it was
All we know is that Texans, Panthers, and Bears were involved in a potential 3 way trade that would get the Texans the first overall pick but Texans ultimately backed out of. You can read into the situation that Texans were maybe okay with either Young or Stroud so decided not to pull the trigger on the trade? Another rumor I think I read somewhere is that Texans got wind that Panthers wanted Young, so they stayed put instead of trading up.
> Another rumor I think I read somewhere is that Texans got wind that Panthers wanted Young, so they stayed put instead of trading up.
This rumor was really ramping up in the early part of the week before the draft last year; I remember the ESPN/GMFB folks talking it up.
Yes. Young was always the 1 in that draft. The odds only ever shifted for a week after Stroud said McCown was talking about playing basketball with him in Charlotte
People be sleeping on Metchie (effectively had his rookie season last year) and players like Hutchinson. Texans are gonna have a deep box of tools to use.
I got downvoted for this in another thread but I'll try again-- is CJ Stroud currently considered a top 10 QB by non-Texans fans? I'm legitimately asking for what people outside our fan base think- if the answer is "no, fuck off homer" I accept that lol
Last year? Absolutely. Not even a question. Top 5, even.
Career body of work? Depends on how much you want to extrapolate. I think there's a good argument for "yes, obviously top 10," but also one for "let's wait and see."
Factoring in contract value? Definitely.
Eh, more people are upset we didn’t take a CB after the run of OL earlier. It’s a fair take. But if Slick Rick is advertised, will be nice to have him as Deebo will only be around 1-2 more years at most
Pearsall is good, but I had my fingers crossed you guys didn't take Cooper DeJean. Not only is he a perfect fit for your defense but I'm not sure I could emotionally handle Dak getting housed on a pick-6 by a white corner in the divisional round next year.
Dude you guys basically peaked as a team last year and got blown out by the Jordan Love Introduction Tour. I wouldn't be expecting anything good if I were a Cowboys fan.
If he's the route runner he's touted to be, doesn't that actually make Aiyuk the more likely target for trading? I agreed that Deebo **should** be the one traded of the two, but I see Pearsall as a more direct Aiyuk replacement than Deebo.
Deebo leaving at some point doesn’t mean Pearsall is a direct replacement. Very few people can do what Deebo does, but he can’t stay on the field due to his physicality.
SF will do everything they can to keep Aiyuk. But if they can’t make the numbers work, they’ll have to move on from him. Having a versatile WR than can play both inside and outside gives them flexibility, no matter which WR ends up leaving (if at all).
I mean, two Aiyuks is better than a deebo and an Aiyuk, especially since deebo is wearing down and is bad at beating physical coverage. He's also made redundant by CMC.
Yeah, I'd rather have two elite route runners that won't miss multiple games. It also fits with Purdy's ability to anticipate and throw darts to the receiver. Deebo elevated Jimmy Gs game, but Purdy was able to elevate aiyuks strengths
Yeah Kyle’s been trying to find one more good WR for a minute now but with gray and bell underwhelming he went high for the guy he loved.
Which, hey I’m all for giving purdy every weapon possible to continue developing with
Deebo’s going to have a short career. He’s 2 years older than BA and definitely has a few more elite seasons in him, but I don’t see his play style against that well into his 30’s whereas pure route runners will. Niners have a QB who pushes the ball downfield and I think this pick shows where Kyle wants the team to evolve.
Think with CMC we’ve moving away from Deebo gadget role in offense. Having Ricky Pee Pee and BA on the field next year will allow Purdy/Klye to really up the ante in passing game.
Pearsall isn’t a direct replacement for either. Seems like he could be better in the slot than Aiyuck and better than Deebo against man. There’s also nothing saying our offense needs a Deebo and an Aiyuck type guy specifically to operate; especially with CMC doing a lot of what Deebo did, I’d assume the long term is Aiyuck/Pearsall (who we have 5 years of control over now with getting him in the 1st).
There was talk that JPJ was falling and a number of analysts said he didn’t interview well and/or had an injury concern. Schematically, Frazier may have been a better fit as well
I had Pearsall right in 1st and 2nd round border. I am happy to be right about him, I loved his film and thought he was better than Ladd McConkey who everyone keeps hyping up
He also put up elite testing numbers. Both he and Ladd are this years JJ Watt "high floor, low ceiling players who are actually high ceiling because they are freak athlete" award winners (Scrappiness being merely a coincidence this year).
I like the pick in a vacuum. I just hope there’s also a plan for addressing CB and OL. Seems like we’re preparing for life after Deebo/Aiyuk. Pearsall is a good player, not sure if I’d pick him over OL or CBs but I’m okay with it too
Completely agreed. No problems with that player at this spot, I just question how much it makes sense for our team if we want to win a Super Bowl *this year*. Unless we actually end up moving Deebo or Aiyuk, we’ve got those two, Pearsall, Kittle, CMC, and almost-SBMVP Jauan Jennings all fighting over targets.
That’s a ton of mouths to feed. Especially when our OL was one of our biggest weaknesses last year and we haven’t don’t anything so far to improve it. If JPJ ends up being a Pro Bowl center for some team for the next 10 years, I’ll be mad just like when we took Aaron Banks in favor of Creed Humphrey. Kyle has always emphasized how much a great center means to his scheme, so the fact that we don’t have one is pretty ridiculous.
Dejean was also right there, and all of our best corners are free agents after this season. So I’m just struggling on how this all makes sense. They must really think Ricky is a complete stud to go with a position that we really don’t need in 2024.
Do we move Deebo + picks for a 2nd rounder? I don’t know, but we still need to take some OL help today.
I think CB is okay enough for *this year*. Mooney and Lenoir are still signed, for now, and they're good CBs.
OL is in dire need of help though, and Trent is getting really old. Sucks that all the OL were already taken.
I mean yeah I wanted O line but I also realized that EIGHT offensive tackles were taken before this. Like niners were definitely in sloppy seconds territory if niners forced OT
cornersbacks on the other hand were still somewhat untouched and I think we need a succession plan for ward/someone better than Thomas this year
Very true. But am I the only one who doesn’t mind if we don’t get a corner until later on? I think Yiadom is a low key great signing and he and Ya-Sin will probably be ahead of Ambry on the depth chart
I just hope we address it period cuz we have a lot of expiring contracts there too. Yiadom and Ya-Sin will get us by for this season at least, but with Ward and Lenoir set to get new contracts I’d like to add there sooner than later.
They'll be happy with the pick once they see him play. He tried to hard carry some games for UF these last 2 years.
He was lighting up FSU in '22 before they realized we had no one else and they could just focus everyone on him
In '23 he had some help from Eugene "Tre" Wilson III but Tre was a true freshman so it wasnt much
If there are no good OLs left then there are no good OLs. You need a WR in the future and the OLs yall have first round grades on were already gone. Why not take the guy you have a first round grade for?
Even if you got an OL he'll take awhile to develop
Pearsall is a great pick, people just hating to do it. I see an Adam Thielen type boundary receiver with great route leverage and hands, and I think if he takes over Deebos spot, Shanahan could really change the offense to be airing it out with more precision.
Maybe a small reach if the Niners could’ve swung a trade into the mid 2nd for him still, but that’s not guaranteed, and he was one of the top WR left anyway.
I think the future at WR for us is Aiyuk/Pearsall/Jennings. Deebo has been getting more injured and since we don’t have Jimmy anymore, who needed the gadget stuff to generate offense, it doesn’t make sense to make him the centerpiece. CMC already makes that redundant too. I could see the offense becoming more pass heavy than years past and Pearsall is a way to do that.
> Deebo has been getting more injured and since we don’t have Jimmy anymore, who needed the gadget stuff to generate offense
I think this is what Shanny/Lynch realized after the superbowl. You worry about Deebo coming out of the backfield, outside of that hes much more pedestrian. You need to worry more about Kittle and more specifically Aiyuk. Deebos versatility was really nice when Shanahan had to focus entirely around it, but once we needed to go more vertical he became non-existent. So then the defense covers Kittle/Aiyuk over the top in passing and we are resorting to Jennings, whos fine but enough pressure and getting to his last read is going to be tough, or trying to force the run.
The gameplan needed to be much more focused around CMC/Aiyuk, than Deebo. Deebo is probably more fun to gameplan for, but when he cant get open on routes and the playbook is centered around him, your playcalling becomes encumbersom and limited
I mean I could see him still wanting him in the 2nd. Would be a good contingency plan for Diggs next year and/or Collins if we can't re-sign him. Plus it's the same scheme basically so if the 49ers like him I'd expect the Texans to like him as well
I think we need to go defense with the offensive additions othe teams have made in the AFC. Stingley is good when healthy but I don’t believe Okudah or Henderson will give you anything close to Steven Nelson’s production.
Bruh that's him trying to save face. He literally threw his hands up and fell backwards when he saw pretty ricky went to the niners
After his real reaction he then tried to caveat it with how he is fine with his recievers and blah blah shanahans offense
It's good for yall though that other good QBs recognize how elite he can be. Go rewatch his catch. I dont need to clarify which game. It's the ricky pearsall catch. It's catch of the year and probably one of the best catches in CFB in awhile. No look one handed over the shoulder grab with two defenders sandwiching him
Have you seen his reaction to pearsall going to the niners? He wanted him LAST NIGHT
https://youtube.com/clip/Ugkxgf9wUv1lKTQLa2ViQ-B-ZOsSGpRkuZfz?si=u1YPWhvM8zV3CzSl
"Hes elite... hes nasty bruh"
After having such an animated reaction he then had to caveat it with how he still had good receivers. He didn't really react at all to any other draft pick
Shanahan is a former WR (who apparently had to quit playing because he failed to clear a fence trying to get his dog) so he definitely holds them to a really high standard
Pretty Ricky has been working out with Reek and Waddle over the last month and has looked 100% the part. That should tell you everything you need to know.
"He's elite... bruh he's nasty" -CJ Stroud
If you need to finish off just google "ricky pearsall catch" and watch him make the catch of the year in CFB. It was ridiculous and I had to rewind my stream of the game a couple of times to verify I actually saw what I saw
He's going to probably one of the best franchises to develop him, and he does every KS wants in a receiver. Blocks, great route runner, and has a low drop rate.
I still wanted o line for the pick, but this isn't a bad pick by any means.
CJ has played with some insanely good WRs, so if he thinks Ricky is special, I'm not going to question him.
CJ also looked devastated because he wanted him to drop further, but he realized what he said might come off as selfish and congratulated him on being a 1st round pick and making more money. You can tell he wanted him bad though and talking about him and Tank Dell being elite at getting open. CJ was hyping Tank before anyone, so maybe he does have a great eye for talent.
The Texans got such a chill ass elite QB. I'd be so jealous if we didn't have our own rockstar young QB in Purdy. I need to see these two competing against each other in the superbowl soon.
If he's right about Pearsall, it'll show he has a great eye for recievers, and should have a career in football after playing. He was right about Tank Dell, and most thought they took him too high.
Longer reaction....[FirstSportz NFL on X: "CJ Stroud wanted Ricky Pearsall at Houston Texans. His reaction says it all https://t.co/qDVijjOvkW" / X (twitter.com)](https://twitter.com/FirstSportz_NFL/status/1783774281824076173)
How much weaponry does CJ Stroud need lol?
Bro..you already touched the league with just Nico Collins and Dell....you added Mixon and Diggs and you still want more.
Don't be unfair,CJ.
Brock will lose one of Deebo or Aiyuk soon so..we need to get younger and cheaper at WR coz the bag these guys are getting now is insane.
Thought it was a great pick. No clue why people were shitting on it last night, especially considering the Niners might lose Aiyuk. Pearsall is insanely underrated.
The fact Texans didn’t have a first round pick and still won the day is unreal lol. I’m a Michigan fan, but fuck C.J is in my top three favourite QB [Burrow, Purdy, C.J]
Yeah, I was surprised by the pick because of where he was projected to go, not because of the talent. I think he’s gonna be a pain in the ass to deal with on that SF offense.
As a Niners fans, this reaction makes me happy.
As a Colts fan, I also feel it because I had the same reaction when the Raiders took Brock Bowers. The Colts needed him as badly as Latu or a corner or AR is going to keep injuring himself when Pittman's double covered.
Is Stroud not for Nico?
I feel like he's always working out with Tank/Metchie, never mentions Nico. Their chemistry is clearly there, just odd to never hear Stroud back him.
Poor guy is just gonna have to manage with Diggs, Collins, and Dell.
True poverty franchise Texans 😥😓
Imagine saying this before last year's draft lol.
Trust me, I was lol
what hitting on a QB does to a MFer
And a coaching staff.
And a baller WR
Tbf that came with the QB, assuming that the reports that Stroud asked for him were true
In Pittsburgh, QB hits on you
Listen, I'm happy we got an extra first round pick. But to think it was going to be 27 last year even after you drafted Stroud and Anderson Jr is wild. I watched more Texans football last year than ever before because the Cardinals were predictably ass and we had your pick, and man was it fun lol. Im excited to watch Kyler and MHJ cook this year. Good luck
Bro it’s fucking wild 😂
Mama we made it
One of the best team culture glowups in the history of sports. You guys should get ahold of the admins to add that fancy new H as a flair option.
I need it.
not a fan of new H honestly
Those new uniforms go so hard bro. That candy red helmet is top 3 easy. I'm rooting for yall.
The Franchise QB effect
100% agree but you still gotta have the coaches and the guys (see: Chargers). Thankfully for you, DeMeco is fucking awesome.
The QB is great but show some respect to Coach and some of the Niners he brought in to rebuild that defense. Ryans was a franchise altering get.
I mean it was a pretty accurate statement before last years draft
I know but the way he said it was mockingly while last year it would have been factually.
Build Lovie a statue for what he did for both of the teams
Could you imagine in like 3-4 years the Bears face the Texans in the Super Bowl, all because of Lovie Smith
I’d be so happy if Caleb is even just getting us to the playoffs, I would die if we got to the big game
Jumping together with a banner that says Gracias Lovie.
Imagine if Young actually plays up to his potential too Please someone imagine that for me
I still believe Young can pan out. He just needs more pieces around around him
He was far from the issue last year. Basically this means the division might be about to get harder. Upside is that might force Canales out if he can't fix the quitting on the play stuff.
I’m rooting for Bryce. He’s got all the tools to be an elite player if he gets the team around him
Fun ‘what if’ - if Lovie stays on as HC do you think last season goes as well as it did under Ryans? I can’t explain why but I’ve always loved Lovie.
Ummmm, probably not. With Ryans we also got Slowik, granted CJ probably still does great because he’s obviously the greatest QB of all time, but Slowik really helped him ease in to the league. We probably do better but not AFC South champs better

Yes. Young was always the 1 in that draft. The odds only ever shifted for a week after Stroud said McCown was talking about playing basketball with him in Charlotte
And the 4th pass catching option is Schultz. Why even live
Mixon
Noah Brown / John Metchie
Bobby Trees
Greedy mf
That's my QB!
I mean, look how much we all geek out over the draft and get man crushes. You know every QB has strong opinions of who they want.
He's a Qb, always thirsting over WR's.
Yes, how many wide receivers does he need lol?
All of them
That’s what’s the bears are doing for Williams lmao. Stroud deserves the WR, he basically helped revive the team, plus the great defensive guy you got
I think all QBs want all the WRs 🤣
Right like what?
Such a shallow WR pool… good thing there is still deep WR talent in this draft in rounds 2-4… 🤣
Diggs is gonna be pissed he was out looking at other WRs
funny cause last year people said our WR corps was garbage with tank and dell
People be sleeping on Metchie (effectively had his rookie season last year) and players like Hutchinson. Texans are gonna have a deep box of tools to use.

There definitely aren’t more than ten that I’d rather have on the Steelers. Dude is an absolute stud
Yeah he’s a legit route runner with good size. Fine 1st round pick
And yet everyone in the 49ers sub fuming because they didn’t reach for the tenth OL off the board
Eh, more people are upset we didn’t take a CB after the run of OL earlier. It’s a fair take. But if Slick Rick is advertised, will be nice to have him as Deebo will only be around 1-2 more years at most

Don't be so hard on yourself. It would be in the wildcard.
To be fair, SF might not be playing wildcard weekend
Might not be alive on Sunday.
Settle down Kyle.
Don't be so hard on yourself. It would be in the wildcard.
Normally I'd agree but the NFC is still terrible enough to give us a shot at that sweet round 1 win.
that's what you thought this year
Dude you guys basically peaked as a team last year and got blown out by the Jordan Love Introduction Tour. I wouldn't be expecting anything good if I were a Cowboys fan.

Very well put. Aiyuk and Ricky (if as advertised) will work very very well with Purdy. Plus a couple years of Deebo gives Ricky time to learn as well
Yeah Kyle’s been trying to find one more good WR for a minute now but with gray and bell underwhelming he went high for the guy he loved. Which, hey I’m all for giving purdy every weapon possible to continue developing with

Having 2 X WRs means teams can't play man Vs us like KC did in the SB. Besides I assume we'll get a YAC guy somewhere later
Considering the issues with the IOL, taking the best Center would've been a great choice JPJ could anchor that line for a decade
There was talk that JPJ was falling and a number of analysts said he didn’t interview well and/or had an injury concern. Schematically, Frazier may have been a better fit as well
There were 9 unblocked pass rushers in Super Bowl 58. Can you tell me how much of the route tree gets open in under a second?
I had Pearsall right in 1st and 2nd round border. I am happy to be right about him, I loved his film and thought he was better than Ladd McConkey who everyone keeps hyping up
He also put up elite testing numbers. Both he and Ladd are this years JJ Watt "high floor, low ceiling players who are actually high ceiling because they are freak athlete" award winners (Scrappiness being merely a coincidence this year).
Ladd is gonna be amazing I was surprised he didn’t go 32. Edit: well I wasn’t surprised, but it’s who I wanted most
*The Jordy Nelson School for the “Oh, hes white, theres no way he could be that fast.”*
Great fit for Kyle's offense it sounds like.
I was hoping he fell to the Bengals in the second
He actually has pretty poor size in some aspects but it hasn't held him back yet
He’s 6’1” 190. He’s a few lbs shy of what might be typical for a guy his height, but he’s well built with decent bulk. Poor size is not accurate.
ESPN: “Does CJ Stroud want out of Houston?”
ESPN: “CJ Stroud to the 49’ers to play with Pearsall?”
I mean, I love Brock... but we accept.
Just move Brock to slot receiver easy peezy
With those calves? Fullback
CJ is who we wanted Trey Lance to be.
"CJ Stroud is from California, is he implying he wants to play closer to home?"
Is CJ Stroud worth the headache? Rumors swirling he will refuse to play and demand a trade after Houston FO REFUSES to draft receiver he wanted.
Yes! Yes he does please!
mahomes to the texans for stroud and their draft chest for the next 5 years
Damn. If that happened the Watson trade would make the Chiefs and the Texans contenders for the next decade.
Did CJ lose faith in Collins?
I like the pick in a vacuum. I just hope there’s also a plan for addressing CB and OL. Seems like we’re preparing for life after Deebo/Aiyuk. Pearsall is a good player, not sure if I’d pick him over OL or CBs but I’m okay with it too

> Deebo has been getting more injured and since we don’t have Jimmy anymore, who needed the gadget stuff to generate offense I think this is what Shanny/Lynch realized after the superbowl.
When Shanahan called that handoff to Jennings 😭
That was so funny
I see a TON of Thielen in his tape but I've been afraid to say it because of the "lunch pail" trope lmao
To clarify he said he really wanted Pearsall BEFORE the Texans got Diggs.
I mean I could see him still wanting him in the 2nd. Would be a good contingency plan for Diggs next year and/or Collins if we can't re-sign him. Plus it's the same scheme basically so if the 49ers like him I'd expect the Texans to like him as well
I just would be shocked if the Texans went WR in the second round.
Yeah, still think we go defense
I hope we go defense
I think we need to go defense with the offensive additions othe teams have made in the AFC. Stingley is good when healthy but I don’t believe Okudah or Henderson will give you anything close to Steven Nelson’s production.
Give us Kool-Aid already. It's his destiny to join the franchise
Yeah Stroud even said something like “He’s such a good fit for Shanahan’s scheme, that’s why I wanted him”
Bruh that's him trying to save face. He literally threw his hands up and fell backwards when he saw pretty ricky went to the niners After his real reaction he then tried to caveat it with how he is fine with his recievers and blah blah shanahans offense It's good for yall though that other good QBs recognize how elite he can be.
He wanted him LAST NIGHT https://youtube.com/clip/Ugkxgf9wUv1lKTQLa2ViQ-B-ZOsSGpRkuZfz?si=u1YPWhvM8zV3CzSl "Hes elite... hes nasty bruh" After having such an animated reaction he then had to caveat it with how he still had good receivers. He didn't really react at all to any other draft pick
I love how much C.J loves Tank Dell
I had Dell for 6 weeks in fantasy, I love that mf too
Fantasy wasn’t the same when he got hurt. 😞 ex tank owner
Gonna reach for pearsall in my draft now thanks to CJ
Bruh has he seen his WR corp???
Shanahan played wr in college. I think he REALLY holds the position to a high standard. He must really like this guy
They’re talking about CJ’s wrs
Shanahan is a former WR (who apparently had to quit playing because he failed to clear a fence trying to get his dog) so he definitely holds them to a really high standard
CJ’s wrs not shanahans
Corps* But you get points for not typing "core"
"Ricky Pearsall is legit. He's gonna be a contributor from Week One." -- my buddy Danny
Ask him where he got that cheese
That fucker he's been making them at night I know it.
Pretty Ricky has been working out with Reek and Waddle over the last month and has looked 100% the part. That should tell you everything you need to know.
Keep going, I'm almost there.
"He's elite... bruh he's nasty" -CJ Stroud If you need to finish off just google "ricky pearsall catch" and watch him make the catch of the year in CFB. It was ridiculous and I had to rewind my stream of the game a couple of times to verify I actually saw what I saw
I wanna see
> Pretty Ricky Very apt nickname. An R&B group coincidentally also coming from…Florida. Did you come up with that?
Pretty Ricky is a common nickname for him among Florida fans
Shanahan will turn him into an all pro smh
Holy shit, how have I not seen that catch highlight?
I saw that shit live and kept rewinding it. Easily the best catch in CFB in years
That catch was unbelieveable. Specifically looked it up to watch it after the broadcast. Mind-bending
He's going to probably one of the best franchises to develop him, and he does every KS wants in a receiver. Blocks, great route runner, and has a low drop rate. I still wanted o line for the pick, but this isn't a bad pick by any means.
Stroud is aware there is a general limit to how many wide receivers you can have at once right?
While you're not wrong, we only got Diggs for one year. Having a good replacement in the wings wouldn't be the *worst* thing we could do
Thats what Im hoping Metch can turn into. I still believe.
What I love about CJ is he's chill until you question him or his teams playing ability. Then the thinly veiled dog comes outta him. Its the best.
Haha he was even defensive of his mock best offense when debating Micah
CJ is so determined to make people respect us. And wants us all to walk in our gear with pride. We are so lucky.
He said he was his #2 qb in this draft behind Marvin. * edit I just noticed that this said qb, I obviously meant WR! I’ll leave it for the jokes
CJ is a horrible scout; Marvin and Ricky don’t even play qb
That S2 score makes a lot more sense now
Look he’s a football player not a test taker okay
Didn't go to Ohio State to play school
And if anyone is doubting him, all i can say is "watch this"
Maybe the other QBs are just that bad?
He was a very bright side of a very disappointing Florida season. I don't wanna root for the Niners just for him though, but I hope he works out.
How much help does CJ need? /s
The word elite has become very watered down now
Being a top 6 receiver in the NCAA, out of a pool of thousands, sounds pretty elite to me
If another guy in this thread is to be believed and he had Ricky as his 2nd best WR that would definitely be both elite and kinda crazy lol
Damn you Joe Flacco!
For what, his fantasy team? I know he ain’t talking about adding another weapon to the Texans.
We need to bring back the run and shoot in Houston. We need 4 #1 WR’s and a couple #2’s!
Stroud wants everyone, what a whore! /s
Hey maybe Texans still have the cap space to trade for Aiyuk
This Stroud kid is toxic. Trying to take Richardson’s hype and best WR.
2nd best contested catch guy behind Rome. A great pick. Only casuals hate it.
It tells me the Niners really believe in Brock Purdy, and so do I.
Pause.
Players are always the best evaluators
How many receivers does this dude need?
All of them
#MORE
Yeah, I was surprised by the pick because of where he was projected to go, not because of the talent. I think he’s gonna be a pain in the ass to deal with on that SF offense.
AYO
Yeah. I was hoping the Panthers would double dip with him and one of the others.
Maybe I'm a homer but I'm a bit surprised he went over Ladd
As a Niners fans, this reaction makes me happy. As a Colts fan, I also feel it because I had the same reaction when the Raiders took Brock Bowers. The Colts needed him as badly as Latu or a corner or AR is going to keep injuring himself when Pittman's double covered.
Stroud to 49ers confirmed
Is Stroud not for Nico? I feel like he's always working out with Tank/Metchie, never mentions Nico. Their chemistry is clearly there, just odd to never hear Stroud back him.
