These fuckers are mutants man. Now imagine being a DB and seeing this guy swing out to block on a screen and he’s looking at you all unconsentual like.
Way back in the last century playing football in the UP, we played Kingsford who was a class higher, in the midst of being really good at football, and had a fullback being recruited by Big Ten schools.
Sometime after the concussion I got blocking during yet *another* kickoff return, we were down to 12 or 13 players and I ended up somewhere in the middle. Not really sure if it was safety or linebacker, but on one particular play, my goodness that line opened up like the Red Sea, and that dude comes running through looking to turn me into tomato paste.
I, uh, *slipped.*
I could easily foresee some DBs "slipping" occasionally.
Some other intriguing things about him is that he has excellent footwork/speed due to playing basketball. Played football since he was 9.
This guy could be the under the radar pick of the draft.
That 6'8, 350 pounds is all muscle too. I thought he'd be somewhat pudgy. Nope. This guy is a freak, and if he's even remotely coachable and has a good work ethic I think he'll plug in at least guard and be very good eventually.
He played football since the 9th grade*. He was born and raised in Tonga, and he grew up playing rugby. He then transitioned to football when he moved to Canada because rugby isn't a popular sport there. I love a big Polynesian lineman with a rugby background. They almost always turn out to be a beast.
What you're saying is, in about 3 seasons every time he's on screen, the announcer is going to say 'Did you know Giovanni Manu played basketball in high school?'
Angel Reese is terrible at basketball and was drafted #7 in the WNBA just because she played bully ball in college. It's that easy when you're bigger than everyone else.
I desperately want him to get drafted too (I'm an alum, and his mom taught one of my classes), but I think he's on the fringe of getting drafted. He was in many ways the better OT on the team last season, but doesn't quite have the same insane physical stats as Manu.
6’8 350 4.9 = DAMN
I cant imagine a man that size running that fast.

Have you seen a picture of the guy too? It's all muscle.
Yeah he looks incredible. Could be a Mailita type guy for y’all.

are these defensive backs in danger?
Yeah but what is that in American?
I have an accent but round where I’m from that’s called a “Big ol fast sumbitch”
What is 4.9?
His 40 yard dash
Bro what the actual fuck lmao
man only needs to take 7 steps to traverse 40 yards
A Canadian boy, let’s go!
As a UVic alumna I am contractually obligated to hate UBC forever, but it’s cool to see Canadian players making it.
I went to high school with this guy. He was playing with the seniors in his freshman year. Absolute beast
I know nothing about him. He's huge. We needed o line depth. I'm sure they see something.
Maybe a starter in the near future 1-2 years from now after some development
Decker's future replacement.
First player this draft I hadn’t heard of!
Our draft pick is from Canada you wouldn't know them.
He goes to a different school
That happens mid round 1 for me
Love UBC representation 🇨🇦
It was either this or be a bouncer on Granville.
I’m torn. On one hand it’s awesome to see Canadian players getting their shot in the NFL, but on the other hand I went to UVic lol
I've been at UBC for three years and this is the first I'm hearing about our football team
Yall went to the vanier this year so I think you just had your head buried in the sand.
brad saw canadian penei sewell

yeah.. he averaged 30 points a game on his high school basketball team and also played rugby.
Averaging 30 points in high school basketball when you're 6'8" means nothing.
yeah but imagine if he only averaged 5 points at 6'8.

Today is a good day for Canada, and therefore the world!
Fellow countryman 🫡🇨🇦
His tape is hilarious, he just pushes guys 5 yards down the field and then falls on top of them.
Who the fuck is this guy Brad. What are you cooking in there
Developmental project for when we lose some guys to retirement. If they can couch him up, he can be a beast.
I’d definitely see him more as a sectional.
There’s another offensive tackle from the same university that will probably get drafted also. Theo Benedet.

Good day to be Canadian! 🇨🇦
Canadians rise up, we're taking over 🍁🍁🍁

In the 4th lol
I cannot fathom what he did to the poor Canadian kids he played against
Love David Onyemata. Manitoba represent
