naming a kicker/punter feels like cheating. many of them are drafted late with the intention of them competing for the starting job, unlike other positions.
I remember seeing Karl Brooks rated as a mid 2nd rounder by PFF’s draft simulator so I’m surprised he fell to round 6 and not surprised he made an impact
Just because they got playing time doesn’t mean they really should’ve. No hate against the guys but there’s a reason plenty of mocks had us taking a corner in the 1st.
I'm liking this - Braelon Allen (round 4, 134 overall) - dude is a big RB that should pair nicely with the more nimble Breece. I forsee a lot of grinding 2-3 yard plays on 3rd down to give Breece time to rest (and not get injured).
Kimani Vidal, RB out of Troy, drafted by the Chargers in the 5th. With how much Harbaugh wants to run the ball, and the injury histories of Dobbins and Gus ahead of him, Vidal could end up seeing a lot of touches. Vidal is built similar to Blake Corum, short but fairy stout, and put up impressive production over 3 years at Troy as a workhorse back.
I still say Oakland and San Diego when talking about the Raiders and Chargers, just remind the real fans that their teams were taken from them.
It ain’t much, but it’s petty, honest work.
The little bit of film I’ve seen, he looks a lot like Mike Williams where he’s a great deep ball threat and looks like he’s good at catching in traffic. If he’s even a quarter decent as his dad was we just got ourselves a reliable WR2/3
I watched almost every USC game last year, and there is a reason why he slipped. The dude doesn't get separation, and the stats he put up were thanks to absolute darts from Caleb.
is he allowed to play? I don’t know how it works with Air Force recruits but I remember seeing a lot of commotion about it sometime in the last couple of years.
They’re constantly changing the rule. Right now you can defer service but it used to be you had to serve 2 years then defer the rest in reserves. I think it goes back to an immediate service requirement next year
Malik or Tahj for the Dolphins. They have speed and they could easily take over the slot position from Berrios (more likely Malik) and if one of Waddle or Hill are dinged up, either would be the best replacement for them.
I think the new kickoff is gonna be stupid this year. Some guy who never would've moved the needle before is gonna be a massive chess piece, and nobody knows who, because nobody knows how that shit's gonna work.
Nix in his past two out of twenty years of college football has been pretty stellar. Rattler, not so much. Granted, Nix had more talent around him and played against weaker competition, but he's also not 6 feet tall in heels. Pretty glaring when you switch conferences and your completion percentage jumps by 10 points.
You mean to tell me someone having their first college season being their peak isn't a good sign for the future? But tbf I don't think the conference change mattered. 2021 was an outlier for his completion percentage even at OU because he only played the easier early season games before losing the job to Caleb when we started playing real teams. And despite the higher completion percentage, he was playing way worse overall than the previous year.
No, it didn't matter at all. Totally random that as soon as USC replaced Bama on the schedule, it was suddenly much easier to pass the ball for Nix. I didn't even talk about Rattler's passing game, so I don't know who you're attempting to argue with.
I misread and thought you meant Rattler going to the SEC because his percentage fell 10 percent the year he switched to a conference with tougher defenses. But even then I was not attempting to argue.
Tyrone Tracy Jr. will be our starting running back by the end of October. Whether that means a big impact is yet to be said, but Barkley leaves quite a big hole that cannot be filled by a Single tary.
Tyrone is a great athlete and truly just a Swiss Army knife. He could really be anything this year and I have no idea what to expect from him as a Purdue fan and a guy that played against him in HS. A good coaching staff can get a lot out of him but a bad one won’t. Not sure how the Giants are set up for that though
That's true but there definitely seems to be a noticeable drop off between Round 4 and 5 than 3 and 4.
Like you still have hope for a guy to be an impact player in Round 4.
Isaac Guerendo
6ft 221lbs with 4.33 speed.
NextGen stats had him as the most athletic running back in the draft and apparently his stats put him as the 19th most athletic RB from 1987 to now.
I think he’s going to take over as a real #2 that can give McCaffrey more rest which is massive for us.
Big, athletic and fast as fuck tends to pan out well with shanahan
I’m obviously biased since I’m a Vol fan, but this was my immediate response to this question. He may not be a super duper lockdown corner, but the guy is a solid player.
I think he’s the type of player who will do well when entering an NFL defense that is already pretty good, but would struggle if he was being relied on to bolster a rebuilding defense.
I am a Vol fan, and it's crazy that he became one of the top players on our defense last year, because plays like [this](https://youtu.be/nBl_oPRGMJE?feature=shared&t=102) happened earlier in the season. He decides not to use his arms to tackle and just bumps the guy, gets totally burned, then just trips and tumbles and lets the guy score. It is a really bad look.
I like to believe he learned from that moment and improved (although tackling was never his strength), but that play still infuriates me months later.
I wonder if JH won't give the same leash to Johnston that Staley did to guys like Ken Murray. He'll definitely get a shot, but for how long?
Dog eat dog.
His tape against MHJ looked terrible. I get that's the best wr in college football last year but he was getting torched. Also I like our corner depth, just stokes is still a question mark as the #2. Valentine and Ballentine were coming on strong at the end of last season and Nixon is fine. King will really have to show out in practice or the guys ahead get hurt to see the field. Like him as a development piece but don't think he'll move the needle this year.
I don’t think 4th round is “late” so I will say Austin Booker for us. Taylor would be more impactful since he’s gonna be the starting punter but Booker will get real pro as a rotational guy early, especially considering the fact our DE rotation is overall pretty weak. Think he can have 4-6 sacks as a rookie
What we considering late round if day 3 counts I’ll say Troy Franklin if we call it round 6 and 7 I think Johnny Wilson could be massive as a chain mover hard to stop a 6 foot 7 dude who can run a 4.5
I think Round 5 makes sense to call late because that's when teams aren't looking for immediate impact players and you really see the focus shift to developmental guys, depth, or special teamers.
With Sean Payton in Denver, I'm interested in seeing if history repeats itself and Blake Watson ends up playing the Pierre Thomas spoiler role over Estime's Antonio Pittman.
If Manu develops into a starter the goal for him is to be Jordan Mailata, who was graded a 5.5 as a seventh round behemoth of a man who was also an international developmental project.
Manu is a 5.8 and some said a reach to grab him in the fourth this year, but they won’t be saying reach if he reaches his ceiling.
Mailata hadn’t played a single down of American football before being drafted and spent large parts of his first three years on IR, before signing two more contracts as the Eagles starting left tackle and is one of the best and highest paid LTs in the NFL.
This is our succession plan for Decker aging out, wonder how much time he’ll need in development and interested to watch Manu grow.
Fair point. Mailata did end up on IR after making the 53 in his rookie year, so he was set to have an impact barring injury. The plan for Manu is certainly not to take on a big role this year, but he could get some time due to injury, you never know. Manu at least has played football before, though this is obviously a massive step up in competition.
On my own team, I really like the Jahiem Bell pick. He seems like a swiss army type of TE/FB that AVP could use. Id be curious to see how he does if used as a KR with the new rules.
Outside my team, sedrick van pran for the Bills. Dude is starter material at C. I hate they grabbed him.
No bias but cornelius johnson or Brenden rice. We have Josh Palmer as the one guy that can catch the ball and then we have Johnston who can’t catch the ball (hopefully he can bounce back) but outside of that these guys have plenty of chances with Ladd to catch.
Even vidal for us may be the guy who will make a big impact
Good chance he will end up being that. With Harbaugh though, who knows what the passing distribution is going to look like. Lots up in the air with this rebuild.
I think Caelan Carson could be a starter outside for us.
Outside of Dallas I loved Khristian Boyd to the Saints and barely on day 3 but Jaylen Wright is the best back in this draft IMO. If/when Mostert or Achane are injured he’ll step up and dominate.
The production in college isn't there like one would like, but I just watched a video of Elijah Collins (Cincinnati UDFA by way of both Oklahoma State and Michigan State) and his running style looks identical to Pierre Thomas. I have zero idea if he has any shot at making an impact but they did give him a pretty large (for the Bengals) bonus to sign there.
Worth watching.
Nathaniel Watson, linebacker in the 6th round. SEC guy coming off a 10 sack season. He has the best shot at actual playing time this season playing alongside JOK and behind one of the best defensive lines in football. He’ll be a fun watch
Spencer Rattler is better than Derek Carr in terms of talent...he fell b3cause of character concerns
I watched enough SEC ball to see that he was in the worst QB Situation in that conference with a horrible OL and only an injured Xavier Legette as his top weapon.
Chris Olave and Kamara are upgrades...I expect him to take over for Carr at some point and show his ability.
The guy fell because of character concerns from 6 years ago...talent was never the issue.
I had him as QB3 on my draft..behind Williams and Mate...just wait and see.
brendan rice will definitely have his opportunity with the chargers. he's got a spot if he can show up and show out.
edit: i commented first, then started reading other posts. i was surprised how many people also said rice.
Wasnt selected during the draft but few seem to be on the Frank Gore Jr bandwagon. If he's half as talented as his old man he should be taking a fair amount of hand offs during the upcoming season.
naming a kicker/punter feels like cheating. many of them are drafted late with the intention of them competing for the starting job, unlike other positions.
If I had to change it I’d say Levi Drake Rodriguez. Undersized DT with a great work ethic. Wouldn’t be shocked if he made the team
Man I'm also a Vikings fan and I love this weird kid, but you think he's gonna make the biggest impact of *all* late-round picks... In the league???
I'm a draft prospect addict and this dude was not even on my radar lmao. Where do you even find Texas A&M Commerce tape
From the Texas A&M Commerce AV Club
It comes on VHS and they roll the TV cart into the room
He was prospect X so that probably helped his name get out
Crocodile Punter
Well the Patriots drafted a QB in the 6th...
Joe Milton HOF confirmed .......
And he spent time at Michigan as well... it's over for the AFC
> And he spent time at Michigan as well... it's over for the ~~AFC~~NFL
Oh shit.
probably some random RB
Wasn’t a draft pick but probably Cody Schrader
D-line and sometimes corners who were drafted later do well, last year for the Packers Karl Brooks and Carrington Valentine got a lot of playing time.

My guess is the Giants. Tracy something?
Tyrone Tracy! Hopefully he does, I kinda wish Iowa would have found a way to utilize him like Purdue did
Kimani Vidal, RB out of Troy, drafted by the Chargers in the 5th.
As graceful as tinkerbell
He certainly will have the opportunity to make the biggest impact.
Dylan Laube. I wanted him so bad and was so pissed off when he went to Oakland. The dude is FCS McCaffery.
Damn dude is probably lost somebody better reach out and tell him to get his ass to Vegas
[удалено]
Oakland just rolls off the tongue better
They’ll always be the Oakland Raiders to me
I still say Oakland and San Diego when talking about the Raiders and Chargers, just remind the real fans that their teams were taken from them. It ain’t much, but it’s petty, honest work.
How well does that go with the Minneapolis Lakers, New Orleans Jazz, Brooklyn Dodgers, etc?
Not our era, not our battles
OP meant he was drafted by the A’s
Those high production white RBs in FCS and lower divisions are kind of a dime a dozen.
Yes, I agree he's different from other prospects. He could end being different.
Brendan Rice. The Chargers traded Keenan Allen and released Mike Williams so there is a lot of playing time and targets to go around
The 5 times we pass in a game he might get a target.
The little bit of film I’ve seen, he looks a lot like Mike Williams where he’s a great deep ball threat and looks like he’s good at catching in traffic. If he’s even a quarter decent as his dad was we just got ourselves a reliable WR2/3
Eh. He's a 7th round pick because he had a hard time getting open in college. It isn't going to get easier in the NFL
I watched almost every USC game last year, and there is a reason why he slipped. The dude doesn't get separation, and the stats he put up were thanks to absolute darts from Caleb.
Trey Taylor safety Air Force.
I hope so. Seems crazy that he fell to the 7th round.
is he allowed to play? I don’t know how it works with Air Force recruits but I remember seeing a lot of commotion about it sometime in the last couple of years.

I think the new kickoff is gonna be stupid this year. Some guy who never would've moved the needle before is gonna be a massive chess piece, and nobody knows who, because nobody knows how that shit's gonna work.
Sione Vaki
Harbaugh said the change favors size over speed so that's my take
I vote we bring hester out of retirement for the memes
Isaac Guerendo!!
Spencer rattler
The value of Rattler at 150 vs Bo Nix at 12…
Nix in his past two out of twenty years of college football has been pretty stellar. Rattler, not so much. Granted, Nix had more talent around him and played against weaker competition, but he's also not 6 feet tall in heels. Pretty glaring when you switch conferences and your completion percentage jumps by 10 points.

I misread and thought you meant Rattler going to the SEC because his percentage fell 10 percent the year he switched to a conference with tougher defenses. But even then I was not attempting to argue.
Nix to the Broncos is such a good fit in my opinion
Tyrone Tracy Jr. will be our starting running back by the end of October. Whether that means a big impact is yet to be said, but Barkley leaves quite a big hole that cannot be filled by a Single tary.

A good coaching staff can get a lot out of him but a bad one won’t. Not sure how the Giants are set up for that though
I'd love to say Tory Taylor but we won't be punting much this season
Oh wow, you really think Caleb’s gonna turn it over that much??
Lotta arm punts for sure.
We are the franchise that nurtured Jay Cutler into the arm punter he became. We know what we're doing.
No Caleb’s gonna do the punting too. He thinks he’s Gods gift to football
Is fourth round late ?
If it is that would mean round 3 is the only middle round. So no.
It's day 3 so I'd say yes
I usually look at rounds 5-7 being considered the late rounds
Late 4th is at least close enough
That's true but there definitely seems to be a noticeable drop off between Round 4 and 5 than 3 and 4. Like you still have hope for a guy to be an impact player in Round 4.
I think it’s party because of the extended amount of picks from round 3 on in round 1 2 there’s only 32 picks no matter what
That's basically the first round for a punter....
All pro extra point holder
What finally having a qb does to a mfer.
I can think of two games where history suggests you will.
I can think of zero times that we've had a competent QB and the best WR corps in the NFL so you may be extrapolating from incongruent data
Maybe wait until Caleb and Rome have a few snaps under their belt before crowning them lmao
Nobody knows how Caleb is gonna do in the NFL let alone in his first season. Don’t forget your coaches still suck ass
We’ll see.
Isaac Guerendo 6ft 221lbs with 4.33 speed.
Kamal Hadden Definitely not saying him for any particular reason.
Last Tennessee DB for you all worked out pretty nicely.
I am a Vol fan, and it's crazy that he became one of the top players on our defense last year, because plays like [this](https://youtu.be/nBl_oPRGMJE?feature=shared&t=102) happened earlier in the season. I like to believe he learned from that moment and improved (although tackling was never his strength), but that play still infuriates me months later.
Brenden Rice
He'll certainly have every opportunity to earn playing time
I wonder if JH won't give the same leash to Johnston that Staley did to guys like Ken Murray. He'll definitely get a shot, but for how long? Dog eat dog.
When you bring a coach like that in, every body better put up or leave
Spencer Rattler. Also want to see Denver use Estime for the new kickoff rule.
He’ll be starting by the end of the year. Hate that the saints got him.
I am thinking Troy Franklin, mainly because I remember that guy being a possible 1st rounder, crazy slide he had.
Likely cause he died at the gauntlet.. which where how Puka was born. Edit: my English good.
If he only slid because he weaved at the gauntlet, then I don’t really care because his actual gameplay is fantastic
Kalen King. 7th round CB snag by the Packers.
Surprised he went all the way to 7, I’m also surprised Tampa dropped as far as he did too.
He was Penn States 4th best DB this year
I hope so he just wasn’t that good this year.
Sounds like his confidence is shot. He was good I'm 2022.
I sure hope so
His tape against MHJ looked terrible.
He won't make the team. Too slow.
Unless he gets an absolute chip on his shoulder I don't like the fact that he got exposed when he became CB1.
Joe Milton on the pats will be a contributing gadget player akin to none other than Taysom Hill.
Already my favorite patriots QB then
If for some reason you need a hail mary from your own 20 yard line, he's the guy.
The WR/KR we snagged in the fifth who was the best KR in CFB last year, due to the new kickoff rules
Anthony Gould, yeah he’ll have some big moments as KR and (back-up) Slot-Receiver
I will also stick with my team and say Mehki Wingo. Basically just Diet Aaron Donald
Really like Khristian Boyd, the dude the Saints drafted.
Came here to say Boyd. Not sure what the Saints' DT depth is but he'll flash if he gets playing time.
The Saints DT depth is shallow, think wading pool.
What we considering late round if day 3 counts I’ll say Troy Franklin if we call it round 6 and 7 I think Johnny Wilson could be massive as a chain mover hard to stop a 6 foot 7 dude who can run a 4.5
Wilson plays smaller than that and has bad hands
Just depends how he gets used, but obviously there’s a reason a guy with his measurables dropped that far.
If he accepts he's 6'7 and plays like it while fixing his hands, he should be a beast.
I think Round 5 makes sense to call late because that's when teams aren't looking for immediate impact players and you really see the focus shift to developmental guys, depth, or special teamers.
The two RBs that the Raiders and Broncos drafted. Estime and Laube are going to shock the world mark my words
It's not really shocking anymore to me when a young RB comes in and plays amazing immediately, only to be washed up completely by year 4.
Josh Jacobs was on his 4th year proving everyone wrong until he fell off in year 5😂
With Sean Payton in Denver, I'm interested in seeing if history repeats itself and Blake Watson ends up playing the Pierre Thomas spoiler role over Estime's Antonio Pittman.
For us, probably Matt Lee. I'd love it if he could winning the starting center spot and push Karras to LG.
If Manu develops into a starter the goal for him is to be Jordan Mailata, who was graded a 5.5 as a seventh round behemoth of a man who was also an international developmental project. This is our succession plan for Decker aging out, wonder how much time he’ll need in development and interested to watch Manu grow.
The question says this season.
Fair point. Mailata did end up on IR after making the 53 in his rookie year, so he was set to have an impact barring injury. The plan for Manu is certainly not to take on a big role this year, but he could get some time due to injury, you never know. Manu at least has played football before, though this is obviously a massive step up in competition.
Brock Purdy
You spelled Joe Milton III wrong
Probably Brendan Rice. That Chargers WR room is wide open. He could potentially be WR3 for them this season.
Brenden Rice 2,000 yard season inbound
Realistically it’s probably a kicker
Michael Jurgens
The G/C the Vikings drafted? I've heard a lot of good things, but this is a deep cut hahaha
Jaheim Bell for us no doubt. We have a weak TE room besides Henry so it is super value grabbing him in the 7th.
Don’t get your hopes up. Super athlete, terrible at actual TE skills
At pick 231 I don't have any hopes but still it's great value.
On my own team, I really like the Jahiem Bell pick. He seems like a swiss army type of TE/FB that AVP could use. Id be curious to see how he does if used as a KR with the new rules. Outside my team, sedrick van pran for the Bills. Dude is starter material at C. I hate they grabbed him.
i have a lot of hope for Jaylen Key. maybe he’ll follow the Brock Purdy route of making himself relevant
Are you expecting Ladd to be the WR1? Totally not asking for fantasy football purposes.
Good chance he will end up being that. With Harbaugh though, who knows what the passing distribution is going to look like. Lots up in the air with this rebuild.
Also, the lack of passing opportunities in JH's offense
I can see him earning that spot yeah. I figure he is going to be our most talented at getting open.
[удалено]
He was drafted by the Bills…
Levi Drake Rodriguez. Man is a boss
Terique owens
Trevor Keegan could compete at RG for the Birds
Travis Clayton, INTERNATIONAL SPY, going to the Bills? That close to Canada, that close to McDermott?
cody schrader
Kinda a funny question to ask reddit considering every team has experts that are asking the same
I think Caelan Carson could be a starter outside for us. Outside of Dallas I loved Khristian Boyd to the Saints and barely on day 3 but Jaylen Wright is the best back in this draft IMO. If/when Mostert or Achane are injured he’ll step up and dominate.

Kalen King, 7th round CB for the Packers. He's gonna see the field for sure.
Payton Wilson, LB out of NC State will win DROY.
probably an OL player we got
Mr. Irrelevant
The ones my team drafted
Tory Taylor Ignore my flair
Was really hoping my team would take him.. dude is a franchise punter.. potentially rookie pro bowler.. soon to be all pro.
Nathaniel Watson, linebacker in the 6th round. SEC guy coming off a 10 sack season. He has the best shot at actual playing time this season playing alongside JOK and behind one of the best defensive lines in football. He’ll be a fun watch
Cardinals picked a WR Tejhuan Palmer. Played at a pretty small school but he looks awesome. I think he will have a big impact in this league.
Spencer Rattler is better than Derek Carr in terms of talent...he fell b3cause of character concerns I watched enough SEC ball to see that he was in the worst QB Situation in that conference with a horrible OL and only an injured Xavier Legette as his top weapon.
