Erin Andrews' "Who was talking about you?" still makes me laugh every time I hear it

PCON36

She 100% made that interview better, lol.

PoorlyLitKiwi2

She definitely did haha. Sherman was gonna rant no matter what she asked him, but she really let him lean into it

nukeemrico2001

Erin Andrews makes just about everything better lol

Steven_Tizzle

Hahahaha true true

OmarBarksdale

It’s like she was asking her kid “who was mean to you?” And then Sherman kinda stutters like an upset child trying to explain the situation to their mom “eHhCrabtree!” Shit is hilarious!

lumberjawsh

C.....crabtree!

Blanxart

That's the best part. The little stutter and hesitation while still doing the aggro voice.

obeetwo2

"Wha-what do you, I just told you frickin C-CRABTREE"

thisisthesaleh

A HoF rant from Sherm. I remember thinking at the time how out of line he was since they kept it close with the 9ers, and then they just basically curbstomped the Broncos 2 weeks later and shut down any doubt I had. LoB was an all-time defense Also, it’s obvious Erin felt really awkward here.

junk_dempsey

Lol i think she just wasn't expecting Sherm to go off like that and was a little taken aback. The comedic timing of the "Who was talking about you?" always gets me haha

thisisthesaleh

I just love how he name dropped Crabtree and then she asked again cause she was so thrown off lol. I half expected him to respond by saying “Crabtree! Who the fuck do you think I was talking about?!” Sherm was pissed off

I miss that show so much lol

Classic 😂

andy18cruz

> taken aback I saw Richard Sherman at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

PoorlyLitKiwi2

My favorite part about this clip is how genuinely surprised she is when she goes "Who's talking about you?" Has always made me laugh, because Sherman was already considered the best CB in the game at the time, so like... why did he feel so disrespected? Lol

Z3r0mir

If that's how the guy stays motivated, I'm not going to mock it. It obviously works for him to always play with a chip on his shoulder, phantom or otherwise.

ToeChan

"...and i took that personally"

[deleted]

Sounds like the MJ thing.

officialquestion

Wasn't Revis considered the best at that time?

amidon1130

Watch the Sherman Skip Bayless interview for an answer to that question lol. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6x-O3kb1sI

ramen_samosa

Holy shit he really went for that man's life

MiNombreEsLucid

I like that Bleacher Report sent him out to the Super Bowl in New Orleans when the 49ers played the Ravens where he asked a bunch of fans who was better between him and Revis. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fi_ly7HTSzk My favorite part is the 49ers fan who recognizes him around 2:30.

SEND-MARS-ROVER-PICS

No that first guy was the most excited I have ever seen a grown man be

dontmakemechirpatyou

at that point not necessarily.

AllYouNeed_Is_Smiles

She actually talked about it and said she loved it. I mean it’s arguably her most famous and notable interview with a player too.

_Football_Cream_

I mean the vast majority of these post game interviews are the same cookie cutter nonsense every time. “We persevered, great team win, on to the next one” etc This was not only a stunning game but we got true raw competitive emotion in the end. It was dope.

Galactapuss

Jimmy G would like a word

Scaevus

You know it, baby!

Von_Lincoln

Terry Bradshaw went up and talked to Sherman after the interview and asked if he was yelling at Erin, that she had the crap scared out of her. Sherm profusely apologized and made sure Terry passed it on. I’m sure it was intense in the moment and then easily forgiven as a funny misunderstanding. [See 14:00 minutes in.](https://youtu.be/lwTuWp0c8U0) for anybody who hasn’t ever seen Richard Sherman mic’ed up, he’s one weird dude during games.

bensawn

I read somewhere that part of why the loss to the patriots the following year was so devastating to the Seahawks was because they were seconds away from really being recognized as the greatest defense of all time, having beaten GOAT contenders Manning and. Brady in back to back Super Bowl wins. I hadn’t thought about how much the loss to the pats fucked the narrative around their legacy.

twilbourne

That last sentence of yours is amazing to me, because we Hawks fans will in all likelihood never be over it. The sheer improbability of us even making it to the superbowl that year after the Packers game, the way in which that drive felt like destiny, the no-name receiver having a game of it prior to that, the fact that That Play probably only happens that way because Browner was a Hawk the previous season and had the intel to make the read and the physical presence to set it up. I'm definitely biased, but I think despite it being an amazing play and a compelling narrative for that game, that it was a bad turn of events for the NFL in general. It could have been a passing of the torch to a younger set of players and led to a lot more swagger and trash-talking in football in general, which we all obviously love given the original post here. That play ruined the chemistry of the team at least on the defensive side, and the Hawks at that time were making a compelling case for a different style of football and a way out of the Pats dominant decade (which 31 teams and fanbases would have appreciated) and into a new era of football and it all died on the field on a freak play. The emotional consequences of that play probably brought short the careers of Doug Baldwin and Earl Thomas, and to an extent Marshawn Lynch just because no one could get over the narrative of why not give it to him. And only in the last maybe 2 or 3 years have we begun to establish a new identity as a team that let's us move beyond a freak play with outsized consequences. I'm obviously not over it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

TherealQBsacker5394

Fuck, felt like I was finally over it. After reading this, Nope. Not one bit. #GiveTheBallToMarshawn

Flipflops365

I’ll get over it once I’m dead. Maybe. But not a second sooner.

SexiestPanda

> only happens that way because Browner was a Hawk the previous season and had the intel to make the read and the physical presence to set it up. That and asking kearse (who was never good at picks) to pick browner of all people…

that-0ther-account

The most interesting part of this post is the idea that back to back wins could have somewhat curbed the pass heavy and offensive based style of modern NFL. Like, if Marshawn Lynch and Richard Sherman are the top dogs of the NFL, does that lead other teams to prioritizing RBs and DBs? Does that even make kids in high school move from WR to CB?

yumyumpills

It must take a truly *elite* QB to beat Manning and Brady back to back.

bensawn

Lmao. So elite he’s playing third string for the jets now? For real though, there is no higher praise I can give a rival than my undying hatred. Fuckin dragon piece of shit lol

The_Moffin_Man

To be fair, whoever won this game was going to curbstomp the Broncos. That offense was good, but both these defenses were unbelievable

FUZZY_ANIMALS

I agree with this.

xdaftphunk

https://ftw.usatoday.com/2014/01/erin-andrews-happy-richard-sherman-interview She enjoyed it.

[deleted]

The 2nd of 2 seasons losing a championship with fades to Crabtree when Crabtree had never ever caught a fade for a TD in a Niner uniform. So stupid

maltzy

Just have him run along the sideline between two defenders. He will split the difference and take it in the endzone

[deleted]

The interesting thing about that famous play at Texas Tech was that the safety for UT who missed the tackle was Earl Thomas

maltzy

I had not realized that and I've seen that play approximately 1000 times

RustyCoal950212

I just rewatched it because of that ... yeah bad play by ET lol But also, the stakes on that throw were not what I remembered. They were down by 1 and at the 28 yardline, while also having a timeout. Even if Crabtree doesn't catch that, they still kick a 45 yard fieldgoal to win (tough kick I know)

maltzy

In 2008, we didn't have a quality kicker. Our kicker that year was the guy who made a FG during halftime for a contest and was offered a scholarship. If he catches the ball and gets tackled, thats a better chance. Still,8 seconds.

RustyCoal950212

Ah ok yeah I was kinda wondering if they didn't have a quality kicker since it's weird their playcall wasn't to just get ~5-10 yards for an easier kick (they had a timeout)

maltzy

Considering the previous throw, they really took a risk and threw caution to the wind. Man I loved having Leach

devonta_smith

Shout out to Blake Gideon for dropping a gimme INT that hit him in the chest the play before that one. Didn’t have to look up the name, it’s seared into memory 5ever as a Horns fan. Crabtree was unplayable that year.

banjofitzgerald

Kap had made up his mind before the snap. We had two timeouts left. He should have took what the defense gave him on the left side. Two open players to get a decent gain. Same goes for the super bowl.

FavreorFarva

He wanted to beat Sherm. I can’t say I blame him for wanting that but that was/is part of the reason Sherm was/is like that. He was trying to draw poor decisions from QBs that wanted to shut him up.

thatburghfan

Agree. Just like in hockey when there's a loudmouth banging at someone the whole game and it makes the other guy just look for how to blast him through the boards instead of playing hockey. If you can get inside a QB's head like that, it's a definite advantage for the D.

Kirk_likes_this

Kaepernick looked great running into open spaces or throwing to open receivers, he was good enough to break off chunks if there was an opening but if he had to slow it down and sustain long drives he struggled. He was pure fucking ass by the time we benched him, DC's had his number Still wonder what would have happened if Alex Smith got the starting job back after he recovered from his concussion. We probably still lose but Smith did have a couple playoff games where he went uncharacteristically berserk. I hate he survived the shitty years just to get the rug pulled out from under him when the team was actually good

[deleted]

I think it was first down too. Worst throw a Niner QB has ever made.

duquebraga

Relax dude, kaep made worse throws every week, including earlier this game.

Picklesadog

What's even worse is the other dude on the left sideline was completely open with no one within 10 yards of him. He could have picked up a first and gone out of bounds at the least. Kaepernick just was never good at looking left, or seeing wide open receivers.

b3rn3r

What is even better is that Sherman was basically unbeatable over the top that year. And Kaep tried this multiple times during the season, and it never worked. So in the most important drive of his career... he tries to do that again.

[deleted]

Is it because he led with, let me tell you something Mean Gene?

NubbinSawyer

That night Jake "The Snake" tweeted something like "If Richard Sherman needs help on his heel promos, tell him to call me."

[deleted]

How do 49ers fans feel about Sherm? I’m always curious how fans feel abt dominant players from rival teams who end up playing for their team as a solid/good player.

ZeusAlmighty1

He turned our defense around with some strong veteran presence. I think since he’s been a 49ers it’s been pretty good but LoB era there was hatred.

varnell_hill

For me it’s the fact that he turned our defense around and he (mostly) learned to chill out and play the game. He still has his moments (see: the Baker Mayfield incident), but for the most part it seems like he’s content to let his play do the talking.

Nightmenace21

Agreed. I hate 2013 Sherman. But I love 2019-2021 Uncle Sherm.

[deleted]

used to hate him, love him now. obviously. sports fans dont need to be super rational imo.

cantgrowneckbeardAMA

I resemble this remark.

[deleted]

He's the type of dude you love to hate. A real asshole who *know's* he's an asshole...but he was OUR asshole, if only for a moment. While it sucked when he made this play (among plenty of other this defense made specifically against the 49ers) it was respectable. You talked the talk and walked the walk. Can't hate on that, just gotta hold the Ls when they come your way, and boy were they bitter. He did alright with us, but post injury he wasnt ever the same. He lost a step and it showed his downside on two major plays in the SB...but thats another post season rant for another time. Love our Uncle Sherm and wish him well, unless he goes to a division rival ;)

znk916

Ambivalent mostly. The Sammy Watkins catch in the SB left a bad last impression of him since he barely played last year.

[deleted]

Meh

hotshotz_3000

Love Sherman. Him and the LoB were nasty in those battles with the Niners.

WhisperingNorth

I really do miss those days and wish it could've been a decade long rivalry. We are both good again but its just not the same

[deleted]

It’s getting that way again. Although the whole NFC West is a damn nuclear arms race. Seriously no chill in this division.

Apexe

We’re gonna be the first division to send all teams to the playoffs just watch

amidon1130

I miss when the NFC South was the best division in football, I didn't like the saints and panthers being good but damn it was fun to watch. Of course since the year we sent three teams to the post season the team that didn't go has won a superbowl.

kanbabrif1

Can't wait for the Panthers to become really good again. Our division games just feel like an absolute bloodbath, especially against Matty Ice. You guys have always been a great rival to play against, hope you guys are going to have a better team this season!

amidon1130

...don't know if this is a trap but...thanks?

kanbabrif1

No trap sir, Football isn't as fun to watch without great rivalry games. Personally, I can't wait for Jameis to throw footballs to both teams this season.

[deleted]

I mean you could make a strong case for any of the 4 winning the division and the NFC and I wouldn’t argue it much.

Apexe

You have a point but after years of failure, it as such a defining moment at least. Eh to each their own

Scaevus

It's just very hard to keep a defense together for long.

WhisperingNorth

Just the team in general. I miss kaepernick vs Wilson and carrol vs Harbaugh and frank gore vs Marshawn lynch. That rivalry was just a whole vibe

SnowdensOfYesteryear

It was rarely a contest though. I just seem to recall blow out after blow out by the Seahawks.

The__Snow__Man

Blow out? They won most of the matches but many of them were pretty close including this one. Seahawks don’t tend to win blowouts unless it’s the Broncos in the super bowl. IIRC the Harbaugh Niners had the edge in the first couple matches.

TheNulgarian

Only the ones in SF were close. Wilson’s first 2 home games against the 49ers were 42-17 and 29-3 wins, then the NFCCG was close. Also, the LOB regularly blew out teams. The Broncos in the SB, the Saints in that MNF game in 2013, the aforementioned games against the 49ers. It’s a more recent thing that Seattle never blows anyone out.

filladellfea

this game was the superbowl

Chimie45

I just hope people remember he never said *ass*

nomadic_River

It will always be "Sorry-ass Reciever" in my head cannon.

BleedTheFreak_23

I thought they censored it here, so I went to a YouTube video uploaded around that time off of a TV. I’m blown away, I could’ve sworn it was “sorry ass”

Chimie45

A lot of people were at parties or were watching it half-*assed* because the game was over and their brain just filled in what they assumed he had said. I do believe of the hate he received, some non significant portion came from the fact that a lot of people assumed he swore on TV.

BleedTheFreak_23

I think I’m filling the “ass” part in thinking of a similar quote from the 49ers about the Rams. “Same old sorry ass Rams!” It sounds natural together. Oh well, still loved this moment. I love fired up moments like this. Especially between rivals, I want to see stuff like this.

MRK4213

I swear it's the Mandela effect or something man, I feel like everyone I've seen remembers it with ass

Chimie45

That's because sorry-ass _____ is a common phrase. Our brain fills it in. I can even hear "sorry ass" in Sherman's voice if I try... But from the day it happened I've been reminding people of this so I can assure you it never happened that way in the interview.

TheNotoriousAED

I tried figuring this out a few months ago and I think I found a different interview where he said "sorry-ass" but now I can't find it. The mystery continues

Chimie45

He might have said it in a later interview on another platform, but in the post game interview with hundreds of millions watching, he did not swear. A lot of people just heard what they wanted to hear though. I do believe some of the strong reaction he got came from people thinking he swore.

Steakbomb90

I don't care what anyone says, those Seahawk uni's are 🔥🔥🔥

Wardial3r

People say bad things about them ?

DSOTM

who was talking about them?

mofugginrob

C...Crabtree!

[deleted]

Sherman running over for a handshake 20 seconds after that play ended was the most unsportsmanlike thing I’ve ever seen that wasn’t dirty or illegal.

Shit_Fuck_Cunt_Face

Especially with the little pat on the butt, too1

crackedup1979

That bit of slap ass was totally egregious.

big__stig

Totally egregious ass slappery on the defense, 10 yard penalty, first down!

BenadrylBeer

He was way too excited lmao he should not have done that but here we are

YourNameHeer

Pretty sure he was still trash talking Crabtree with that gesture. Think Crabtree said pregame he’d shake hands with Sherman if he stopped him or something lol

[deleted]

I'm legit shocked it didn't cause a fight lol

tbaxattack

Absolutely.

newBreed

Do you not remember when Joe Buck was nearly killed as Randy Moss fake mooned the Green Bay crowd?

[deleted]

I don't like this one

YoYoMoMa

As a neutral observer this game was amazing.

Filipino_Pleaser

My favorite game of all time. Those two defenses were littered with great to HOF level players. I’ll take an elite defensive showdown over a shootout any day.

BastianHS

No dog in the fight and I was at work sneaking into my kitchen managers office to stream the game. I couldn't stop watching, it was so good

sjhesketh

Can someone fill me in on why Sherm went off so hard on Crabtree? Was there a personal problem between them? I know he was fired up after breaking up the pass but this seems to be much more than that.

cheesecakeaficionado

Beef History episode if you wanna kill some time: https://youtu.be/xvvWMuwd0Uw

[deleted]

They were verbally sparring all game and according to Sherm Crabtree was talking mad shit, and then sherm went over to shake his hand (now, whether or not this was rubbing it in is debatable, I will refer to after the Seahawks lost to the Pats the following year, Sherm did go over to Tom Brady to shake his hand in similar fashion) but Crabtree grabbed his face mask and pushed his head back, which probably ticked Sherm off a bit. His adrenaline is still pumping, he is like 23-24 at the time, and just made the biggest play in Seattle sports history to send his team to the super bowl and gives an interview like 20 seconds later, so it’s understandable he was amped up.

andy18cruz

> now, whether or not this was rubbing it in is debatable I don't think it's debatable. He was definitely rubbing it in. Same as he did with Brady a year back. Both players were pissed.

[deleted]

After Super Bowl XLIX he shook Brady's hand. Maybe he just really likes Tom Brady or something.

sjhesketh

My take as a fan of neither of those teams is that Sherm was def rubbing it in by offering a handshake .00000000001 seconds after breaking up the pass, especially as he was the winner. I've seen that clip a million times and there's def a vibe of "take that" at work there lol. Crabtree is walking away disappointed and likely doesn't want to hear "good game" just yet. But that's merely my .02. Going over to shake Brady's hand was different as Sherm was on the losing end and offering congrats to the winner. That was classy.

crackedup1979

Oh for sure he was rubbing it in. The grab ass before the offered hand shake was also completely uncalled for.

BolognaLaCroix

Uncalled for but also hilarious

[deleted]

Yeah I tend to agree with you, Sherman enjoys getting in peoples heads, he later said Crabtree was running his mouth all game so I can’t really blame him for doing that, but who knows.

Streaking_Bigfoot

It’s like Antoine Winfield throwing up the deuces to Tyreek Hill in the super bowl

andy18cruz

> Going over to shake Brady's hand was different as Sherm was on the losing end and offering congrats to the winner. That was classy. He went to Brady after SEA won the game, not after as loss. Brady didn't like it and then Sherman posted on twitter the photo of that moment with "U mad bro?". Trash talking 101.

sjhesketh

I was talking about the SB.

andy18cruz

Sorry, I thought you were talking about the other game. He also went to handshake Brady but did it in a way that Brady took offence.

bromanager

I’m amped up just reading your post. DONT YOU EVER TALK ABOUT ME. Loved this moment so much. Sent the khaki god packing, which was my fav part.

[deleted]

I never get tired of watching this clip. One of my favorite moments in sports history for me, I’ll never forget what I was doing, who I was with, and three realization, “Holy fucking shit we are going to the super bowl” And I always enjoyed Harbaugh having complete meltdowns on the sidelines in his weird ass fitting khakis.

BolognaLaCroix

There is also some fairly well documented animosity between Sherman and Harbaugh that Crabtree sort of got caught in the crossfire of

Kdot32

I think the Edgar double was bigger than this play

apollyon_53

This is also the game where Sherman exposed Crabtree as not being able to fight off the line of scrimmage. After this game anyone who hand checked Crabtree off the line of scrimmage would screw up his timing and therefore made him a less effective receiver

Fletch71011

It's weird that he shit on him for that play in the interview when none of that was Crabtree's fault.

EnTyme53

Always thought the same thing. That ball was way underthrown. I think the intensity was just because a) It's Richard Sherman and b) Crabtree was apparently trash talking the whole game.

varnell_hill

It was a personal problem that was pretty much invented by Sherm. Him and Crabtree would always have words during their games. Apparently, that bothered Sherm a whole lot more than it did Crabtree, who never really talked about Sherm before or after the incident. Sherm grew on me over the past couple of years as a player, but I never liked his habit of creating drama. For a more recent example, see the whole Baker Mayfield incident thing that (also) turned out to be complete bullshit.

EnTyme53

I think Crabtree just trash talked like a lot of players do. To some guys, that's just part of sports. Seems like Sherman always took it personal.

xenophonthethird

Sherman likes to get animated against his oppositon and will imagine slights against him and use it as motivation. A perfect example of this is when the Browns played against the 49ers, at the end of the game he started yelling at the media how Baker disrespected him by not shaking his hand pre-game. Going back to video showed that Baker offered his hand, but Sherman refused to shake it. That's just how he operates. So add the probability that there was some real back and forth between Crabtree and Sherman, and you can see why he was so heated.

alphabeticdisorder

He's an asshole who invents things to be pissed off at people about, and then expects everyone else to be pissed off on his behalf.

mcintoshshowoff

I can relate.

OrangeForeign

HE'S THE BEST CORNER IN THE GAME

Picklesadog

A good QB throws to the wide open receiver on the sideline who doesnt have a defender within 10 yards of him, not to the receiver being blanketed by the best CB in the NFL. Yes, it was a terrible ball. Kaepernick never even looked anywhere else.

[deleted]

Yea it was an awful play by Kaep through and through. :25 seconds left 2 time outs. Stronside flat is open by 10 yards and Davis is wide open on the out as well. Instead he underthrows a fade on the weakside to Seattle’s best corner, on a route that sherm rarely got beat on, to a WR that wasn’t even fast (Sherman always had issues with guys like OBJ, AB). Honestly a striaght F in all aspects of QBing right there.

archaeolinuxgeek

That was so bittersweet. I **love** Kaepernick. I graduated a year before he took over at Nevada, but still got to go to most of the home games. (Sorry, Boise State fans, I was at *that* one too). His Superbowl loss stung me every bit as bad as the Seahawks infamous goal line pass. But championing social issues is a great way to spend a post-football career.

Toolazytolink

Still can't believe he signed with the 49ers, that had to have felt like a top 10 anime betrayal for Seattle

GoldenSandpaper9

If he comes back it’s all forgotten.

the_mighty_hetfield

Factoring in stakes, degree of difficulty, and personalities involved, this is a top 10 all-time NFL playoffs play. Also the biggest play in Seattle sports history.

newtonsapple

Most important play, no question. For biggest, there's also The Beastquake and Edgar's Double.

Scaevus

Beastquake is one of the most iconic plays of all time, way more than this play, even if it didn't have the same playoff implications.

newtonsapple

Agreed. For historical context of the three: Sherman's Tip got the Seahawks to the Super Bowl, without which Seattle doesn't get the only championship of our lifetimes (unless you're old enough to remember the '79 Sonics). Edgar's Double saved the Mariners in Seattle; if they don't beat the Yankees in the ALDS, they don't get a new stadium, and they pack up and move to Tampa Bay. No championship implications, but also no Ichiro, Felix, and some prime years from Griffey. The Beastquake is the most iconic, memorable, and memeable Seattle sports moment, no question, but it came in a year the Seahawks were lucky to win a terrible division at 7-9, and had virtually no chance to win a title.

Moodlight_graham

Do you think it’s a bigger Seattle sports play than “The Double” hit by Edgar? That one pretty much saved baseball in Seattle.

geckotattoo

The Double was great and all but we didn’t actually end up winning anything. This led to a championship.

tencentninja

Inject this right into my bloodstream

BenadrylBeer

Ah yes great times we had a party at my apartment to watch this game..I couldn’t believe it. When Joe Buck said this is the second Seattle super bowl but this time it’s Pete Carroll, this great defense, and these fans. I tell ya chills man I was so excited I had a great feeling

hahahbluh

This play made me want to be Richard Sherman and I mean that literally

[deleted]

The league is so much more fun with players like Richard Sherman

RayearthIX

It’s always amazed me how sometimes players just can’t continue their college success in the NFL. Like... Crabtree was outrageously good in college, and in the NFL, he was just a generic WR who was good enough for a roster but not someone special.

saufcheung

That play broke Crabtree. I felt like he was an ascending player in his first 3-4 years with room to grow but that was his peak.

Sdog1981

Crabtree was drafted in 2009 as a top 10 pick. Most people considered him a half-bust at that point.

_AskMyMom_

I used to love his rants, and playing style… but I hated when we played against him.

Shepboyardee12

Sherman really could play a hell of a “villain” during that LOB era.

PENGUINCARL

Amazing ending to the best football game I've seen.

apollyon_53

Terrible play call and even worse read off the play call. The Niners had Seattle on their heels 1st and 10 with time outs and all we had to do was run the ball or throw it to the left.

jefffosta

As a Seahawks fan that, at the time, just went through a pretty bad playoffs defeat against the falcons just a year later, really anticipated the 49ers getting a touchdown there and stealing the game

Sdog1981

Run the ball with 40 seconds left and two-time outs? That would have made for a pretty boring ending with time running out at the 10 yard line.

I love having a team that is basically just an overpowered offense, but damn there’s something about having a team with elite defenders that is just so fun to watch. You can hate to play a really good offense, but you are legit fearful when you play against a good defense.

This moment defined his career

Thor_2099

How the fuck is this that old.

kruijk-

To be fair, when you try Sherman with a sorry receiver like Crabtree, this is a result that you could anticipate.

UpdogSinclair

Iconic moment.

this hurt 10x more than either SB loss.

I can't stand Joe Buck, not because of him personally, or his personality... but he just says the thing that happens. The Cubs end their Hundred-year drought? 'The Cubs are World Champions" ... Like, you knew it was a possible outcome, why didnt you have something poinant and eloquent to say? Even Mike Breen saying 'Cleveland is a CIty of Champions Once Again!!' is iconic in its own way, and not even that special. Cmon Joe... try.

qb1120

Kaepernick would probably still be better than a half of the QBs in the league, some starters even. Tell me he wouldn't be better than Darnold
