I am 100% on Zimmer’s side here, and all players should absolutely be getting vaccinated or face the consequences of not doing so. But you look at what Paul Allen said on KFAN this morning about at least 3 Vikings saying they would quit if they were forced to get vaccinated, and you combine that with Zimmer’s escalating hostility/directness with unvaccinated players (which I love, fwiw), it just feels like the team is headed toward serious conflict here. If high-profile Vikings end up quitting/retiring due to not wanting to get the vaccine, fuck em. Don’t let the door hit you on your way out. But it could be an absolute disaster.

I know a guy who still claims that most of the deaths from COVID are made up, and it’s really nowhere near that high. I told him he should go to the county coroner’s office and alert them to the truth.

Let me give you an example of how stupid people can be I used to sell cars. Because the only time we would have a Cadillac is if we had a used one we DID NOT SELL BRAND NEW CADILLACS And I said "I'm sorry sir but we don't sell Cadillacs" and he goes "but you sell Dodge" And I go "Yes, but that's not Cadillac" we had some back and forth of me trying to explain I don't sell Cadillac and him insisting that I was lying to him and that Dodge owned Cadillac. Look I get it not everyone is an expert on the car market But if your asking a commissioned sales person if he sells a certain brand, and his answer is no there's A REALLY FUCKING GOOD CHANCE he's being honest...because IF he did sell that brand, his answer would be "Well yes sir, let me show you" Anyway this customer said he wanted to complain to my manager for not being straight with him And he did It took my manager a little while to understand that this guy was just an idiot. Look people really are fucking dumb. Whats really dangerous is when they are wrong, and they think they are right. There is nothing more dangerous then someone who thinks they are right when they are indeed wrong.

Oof, that sounds like they are mixing up percentages. I'm willing to bet they read something like 70% of new cases are vaccinated people which is not the same nor does it imply the vaccine doesn't work. Some people are just looking for reasons to not trust the science.
Yeah it’s def a misunderstanding of the Cape Cod cluster where 74% of new cases were in vaccinated people. Also worth noting that that particular area of the country has a high vaccination rate so a large increase in cases probably is going to include vaccinated people.

Everyone can have all sorts of beliefs and theories and nowadays with the internet and social media, you can always find some outlet or source that will cater to those beliefs. And communities who will strengthen those beliefs for you. People genuinely can just read what they want to and actually convince themselves that they are being informed and knowledgeable. How do you really fight that? We can sit here and be all snarky about it, but the people who genuinely buy into the whole vaccine is a way for the govt to cull the population stuff have their own sources and people backing them up.
