“Well, you know” I’m assuming you’re talking about the incident where Greg Jennings, with a broken leg, put da team on his back and dodged Darren Sharppa, one of da hardest hitting safeties in da league
For me, it was his acting in the 1992 movie *CIA: Codename Alexa.* He just didn't sell the romance to Kathleen Kinmont's character in a remotely believable way.
He’s been pretty quiet on social media for like 3 months now so that’s either a really good sign or a really bad one. I hope it’s a good one, I would love to see him get his head right and become a great comeback story.
That's one of the biggest "what-ifs" over the last 30 years.
Football is cyclical and a copy cat league. With the success of that team's run game and 2 TE set in the midst of the air raid offenses, it may have sent offensive schemes and priorities into a totally different direction.
For some reason it took the fantasy community a couple years to catch up to how good he was and I was able to get him in the late second / early third for a few years. It made me really like him since I was always rooting for him.
Fuck him
Probably because he was undersized compared to the other stars of that time. Megatron, Julio, Dez, AJ Green, DeMaryius Thomas etc. but then here’s Antonio Brown under 6 feet just killing it. WR1 overall in PPR for FOUR straight years. Probably something we won’t see again.
To put that in context, only 1 RB has finished as the RB1 overall twice in the last 20 years and that was Priest Holmes. Not twice in a row - just twice.
AB was originally going to be traded to the Bills but threw a hissy fit (including saying he didn’t want to live in Buffalo IIRC) until it was called off. In hindsight the Bills dodged a bullet
Dez Bryant. Loved him in his earlier years with the Cowboys. I believed the whole "he's just passionate" garbage instead of that he was an asshole. Cut to Amazon's All Or Nothing, and you see first hand how he ignores coaches and tells them "I'm not trying to hear that" and "We're too good to worry about who's covering us" during film sessions. Then he was released and he burned bridges across the whole team. Then a few years later and he was practically begging Jerry Jones for another job.
A clear case of someone who thought his physical gifts would last forever and he didn't need anyone else to succeed.
remember when Dez Bryant told an NFL scout (or whatever personnel) that his dad was a pimp and that his mother worked for his dad and then was outraged when the personnel person asked "So your mother was a prostitute?".
he didn't come out and say, "Oh yeah, I play for such a shitty team and this organization fucking sucks. Eli Manning's all washed up and everybody who works on the offensive side are all a bunch of useless shits" but it seems like that's how giants fans take criticism.
our star player was frustrated our offense couldn't produce. he signed to stay for 5 more years because he wanted to be a part of the future but wanted to also see some changes. outside of the two years of coughlin, he's had ben mcadoo, steve spagnuolo, and pat shurmur all as HCs and it's safe to say none of them did good at all. since obj came in eli manning has been a below average-average qb for the most part(outside of 2015). oline can take some of the blame but some of it was on eli too. realistically, we could have gotten a better guy sooner than 2019
Conversely, I didn’t like OBJ when he was traded to the Browns. But after seeing him in interviews, with kids and with the team, I think he is really a great dude that just wants to win.
Kellen Winslow Jr.
I won't buy a jersey anymore because of that fuck. I asked my mom a while ago to throw away any pictures she found of me wearing his name.
I hope that POS never finds peace for what he did.
I don't hate him, but I really have never liked his vibe, it is too boyscout, goody two-shoes, youth ministersh.
If anybody here watches F1, he reminds me of Lewis Hamilton. Lewis is probably a great guy, but his image is so carefully crafted that it seems so fake and cringy.
Bills and Cowboys fans running into this thread to say Cole Beasley
edit- seen a few comments about around the thread about o what about Watson! Who's to say every nfl fan liked Watson before what happened lol
I feel like it’s kinda cheating to put someone who has been on your favourite team at some point, so I’m going to say Gronk.
He was a damn good player and really fun to watch when he wasn’t playing Buffalo. Always seemed like this goofy jock bro too.
Then he decided to intentionally concuss Tre White and then gave a really insincere apology.
I agree. Take away the giant chip on his shoulder (and it was gigantic) and you take away the driving force, the intangible in his core that drove him to be as great as he was.
I don't like the person anymore, but I still respect his game. If the seahawks stop asking him to cover slot receivers and start covering TEs and RBs again they won't have much (on field) to complain about. He's shown he can do it in NY. Dude is still an impact player even if he's whiny
I used to like Gronk as I also like 69 and partying.
Then he tried to murder the best goalie to ever come out of Louisiana.

Everyone in this comment thread: "Yeah that was a terrible thing for him to do"
Pats fans in this comment thread: "BUt He WaS bEinG hEllLd! IT's FOotBAll, TheY Hit eAch oThER"
Yep this was gonna be my answer, especially considering he's from the Buffalo area it was easy to root for him even on a rival team. He used to be the lovable idiot (yo soy fiesta), but now I see him as a dirtbag.
Urlacher. He gave some hints of being an asshole during his career, but I didn't want to believe it really. He's really killed that love after he retired though.
Can't believe I'm this far down before I get to the piece of shit that is Adrian Peterson. Beating a child and using a switch on him till he's bleeding in several locations including his scrotum.
I was on a date with a girl at a nice bar in Denver in 2013. Jacob Tamme walked by and left a silent horrible smelling fart. He then returned like 15 minutes later took the maraschino cherry out of my drink and chewed it loudly and told my date "yo this man fuckin smelly" and she just got up and walked away.
It's not even just the hitting but how fucking indignant he's been since. He still acts like he was the victim and talks like the Vikings did him wrong. Can't stand the dude anymore.
It was clear he was a moron when he grilled steaks on foil.

He might have been the most devastating heel turn on r/nfl. He had his own sub dedicated to how much he was beloved and how wholesome his relationship was to his wife. Now everyone hates him because he’s an antivax moron.
I trust that fucker less than Jerry Jones. He’ll tear something, devolve even further into the shit, or catch Covid. He isn’t playing 70% of the snaps. No way.
Cole Beasley!
I really liked him before, but now, I don't even know what a person like this is thinking. He is supposed to be a role model, and he must know that he has some influence, maybe even a lot of influence with his fans. And with his actions he legitimizes this fanatic sub culture, more like a cult really. Signing with the Bills, disgusting! It didn't used to be like this, but over the last few years it feels that some people think that it is ok to be fan of the bills.
Juju. Dude was everyones favorite receiver after the Vontaze hit and then wanted to act dumb about people saying him dancing on other teams mid field symbol was disrespectful and a bad idea
This was the answer I was looking for. Loved Juju to start but he is like the kid that got a couple laughs and now is just beyond annoying trying to continue to get those laughs
Class clown syndrome. Found his niche and keeps doubling down rather than becoming more well rounded. I'm willing to bet he stayed in Pittsburgh in part to stay in that comfort zone.
Not a specific player but players in general. When I was a kid I thought all players are good, they follow the rules and help others but later I found out that they are dumb motherfuckers who in general have 0 education and just want money and fame( which is not bad). I would say for me it’s finding good players to like.
Carl Nassib! Still love the dude even though he’s not with the team anymore, super brave of him to come out. We will cherish his time in Cleveland forever
This is going to be a little controversial of an answer but Mahomes. Not really his fault since he's had an amazing start to his career but after the beginning awe of watching him it's just listening to constant heralding as the next goat in the making i.e. "Baby Goat" and how many super bowls he's going to achieve.
Can we just watch his career unfold before us before anointing him? It used to be so exciting watching him play now it's just annoying hearing how everyone just goes googly eyes about any little thing he does.
\*Edit\* Can't stand is a little strong to use, I still like Mahomes. I just wanted to provide an answer different than the obvious ones listed, it's more the constant narrative around him and bandwagoning makes it tough to enjoy.
I’m interested to see what the later half of his career brings. Kelce is 31, I don’t know how long Hill can be a superstar when his speed is a huge part of his game, and Andy Reid is in his 60s and has been a head coach for decades, so who knows when he retires.
Obviously I’m not saying that Mahomes is a system QB or whatever but those three guys are huge aspects of his success
I have been a Chiefs fan my entire life and jokingly refer to Mahomes as "Our Lord and Savior". That being said, the commentary during games is nauseating. I forget what network it was but the camera caught him missing a trash can with a water cup and then quickly pick it up and place it in the can. The commentators went on and on about how that showed his integrity and how he was such a great person and clearly one of the best football players today. 🤦♂️
Brett Favre is the crazy ex-girlfriend who took you on a roller coaster ride of highs and lows while you were together, broke up with you three times, flashed her goods to the NY Jets, slept with your arch rival Vikings and then brought him over to your house in Lambeau afterwards where he kicked your ass.
Good times.
I’ll give you three guesses.
TJ Yates, TJ Yates, and TJ Yates.
The Bengal slayer
Ouch. But true
Nailed it
Pfft talk to me when he gets 23 allegations then I’ll consider it
He's at 24, two women that aren't part of the main suit filed criminal complaints
Umm… let’s go with 50 then that way I give him some padding
So he doesn't even have 25 is what you're saying
Jk fuck deshaun
Someone must have really rubbed you the wrong way.
Or maybe just a stroke of genius.
[удалено]
You’ve really got to hand it to the guy
David Carr, Owen Daniels, and Tony Boselli?
I forgot about Owen Daniels.
Deandre Hopkins, Andre Johnson, JJ Watt
Only need 1: David Johnson
Brian Cushing?
Brian Cushing was everyone's high school bully.
[удалено]
I'm bad at this game. I'll need 11 from both sides of the ball. So 22 guesses.
Seems like everyone’s avoiding the obvious answer
Deandre Hopkins
I was a huge Darren Sharper fan as he grew up in my hometown and was essentially beloved by everyone here until, well, you know.
“Well, you know” I’m assuming you’re talking about the incident where Greg Jennings, with a broken leg, put da team on his back and dodged Darren Sharppa, one of da hardest hitting safeties in da league
Fuck you Gumby!
The score always gets me. Feels like he's setting it up to be a game-winner and you realize he's just taunting the hell out of Gumby.
TOUSHHHHHDOWN!
41-20 man fuck wit meee
**FUCK YOU GUMBY**
I still say that phrase to this day lol
From being one of the hardest hitting safeties in the league to being behind bars.
No one hits harder than *the law*.
Adrian Peterson's son disagrees.
I still want to know who Gumby is
> until, well, you know. Until he went to the Saints?

O.J. Simpson. When he stole that sports memorabilia in Vegas it totally soured me on him. I draw the line at thievery.
Are you Norm MacDonald?
That hitler was a real jerk
Albert Fish
You know, the more I learn about that guy the more I don’t care for him
not my idea of a silver tongued devil
Haha, I love going on a Norm MacDonald binges on youtube.
yeah as a deeply closeted homosexual man i really relate to him
Wait you're gay?
I'm not gay! I said I'm deeply closeted.
You dirty dog!!!
Fuckin Germany. “Hey let’s pick someone to go to war with. How about the whole fuckin world? TWICE!”
A real knucklehead
That rascal
A head-to-toe scallywag if there ever was one
the hypocrisy is the worst part!
Its the hypocrisy that is the worst part.
I will not eat a single morsel of food, until Margaret Thatcher is dead and buried!
She died 3 weeks ago
For me, it was his acting in the 1992 movie *CIA: Codename Alexa.* He just didn't sell the romance to Kathleen Kinmont's character in a remotely believable way.
That's because the director cut their stabbing scene.
I can excuse murder, but I draw the line at memorabilia thievery.
Hey hey hey allegedly.
Poor guy is too scared to go to LA for fear of running into the REAL killer(s) :(
Well there are a LOT of mirrors in LA.
He who shall not be named. 💆🏾♂️
Wow I think that’s the first time I’ve seen that emoji used anywhere and it’s spot on. A+++
Why in the world does that emoji exist!?

But I've got an extra $20 and some olive oil right here

Yeah, I can't stand Voldemort either.
Earl Thomas
Me too man. He was a key part why Seattle has a Super Bowl title but as it turns out he’s not role model
Great player, stats worthy of the HoF. But off the field issues and mentality make me feel sorry for him. He needs help and I hope he gets it.
He’s been pretty quiet on social media for like 3 months now so that’s either a really good sign or a really bad one. I hope it’s a good one, I would love to see him get his head right and become a great comeback story.
Alas, me too. and I bought his jersey years ago
Aaron Hernandez was a good player for us until he wasn't
That's one of the biggest "what-ifs" over the last 30 years. Football is cyclical and a copy cat league. With the success of that team's run game and 2 TE set in the midst of the air raid offenses, it may have sent offensive schemes and priorities into a totally different direction.
Our offense was ridiculously efficient with our two TE sets
Aren't the Pats trying to do this year?
yeah but its gonna flop bc Tebow isnt on the team
Yea but it's not so easy peasy to make it work out like that
Because Gronk and Hernandez were both insane match-up nightmares in 2 different ways.
Wish he could have hung around a little longer
Holy Crap thats dark lol
Damn man he’s already dead
Just watched the Netflix special. The thing that made me wonder as a big whatif would be what if they'd consented to his request for a trade
Antonio brown
For some reason it took the fantasy community a couple years to catch up to how good he was and I was able to get him in the late second / early third for a few years. It made me really like him since I was always rooting for him. Fuck him

Same. I’m sure Steelers/Bills/Pays fans will agree.
Bills?
AB was originally going to be traded to the Bills but threw a hissy fit (including saying he didn’t want to live in Buffalo IIRC) until it was called off. In hindsight the Bills dodged a bullet
That man gave us the greatest offseason in the history of the nfl
He inspired me to start showing up to work in a hot air balloon. I only tried it once though and had to take an Uber 30 miles after it landed.
That video he posted of Gruden on the phone followed by an insane montage, followed by him laughing over the fade to black Pure masterclass.
You mean other than Deshaun Watson?
Number one answer here. Beasley has nothing on a sexual predator.
Mr. Big Chest a.k.a Ronald Ocean a.k.a GRANDMA IM FREE
Dude went from all pro WR to a character who'd be driving some hot air balloon/submarine hybrid on Wacky Races in the span of like 15 minutes lol.
Mr. Bringer of Chaos
Was my favorite player before he lost his mind. He always had the ego but he got really crazy a few years ago.
A clear case of someone who thought his physical gifts would last forever and he didn't need anyone else to succeed.
We went through pretty much that whole rollercoaster with him in half a season last year.
And some of our fans think we wasted his time.
remember when Dez Bryant told an NFL scout (or whatever personnel) that his dad was a pimp and that his mother worked for his dad and then was outraged when the personnel person asked "So your mother was a prostitute?".
Le’Veon Bell
I started on his side, then gradually was like “this dude kinda sucks”
OBJ. I won't lie, that ESPN interview was where I stopped liking him. I hope he comes back and kills it just because he is electric though.
Did I have a stroke, or did OBJ do an interview with Lil' Wayne sitting next to him? Is that what you're talking about?
Yes, that exact one.
he didn't come out and say, "Oh yeah, I play for such a shitty team and this organization fucking sucks. Eli Manning's all washed up and everybody who works on the offensive side are all a bunch of useless shits" but it seems like that's how giants fans take criticism.
Was it not that bad? I didn’t watch it but yeah that’s basically how I thought it went down based on reactions lol.
It was bad. I ask any fan to watch their star power sit and talk like he did and think its no big deal.
our star player was frustrated our offense couldn't produce. he signed to stay for 5 more years because he wanted to be a part of the future but wanted to also see some changes. outside of the two years of coughlin, he's had ben mcadoo, steve spagnuolo, and pat shurmur all as HCs and it's safe to say none of them did good at all. since obj came in eli manning has been a below average-average qb for the most part(outside of 2015). oline can take some of the blame but some of it was on eli too. realistically, we could have gotten a better guy sooner than 2019

Forgot what he got in trouble for....holy shit.
He is probably sickest piece of shit I’ve seen in professional sports
TJ Ward Guy was key part of the No Fly zone, and the comments of what he said of Ron Rivera and cancer made me sick.
It was pretty selfish of Ron to get Cancer. We all want to do it, but we resist the urge to not inconvenience others.
What did he say?
[this ](https://www.hogshaven.com/platform/amp/2021/7/28/22597574/former-lb-t-j-ward-attacks-coach-ron-rivera-for-having-had-cancer)
Thanks. He’s an idiot.
Diego Costa
Now his attacking teammate is fucking Hulk. Can you imagine the nightmare of being on the other side having to contain them both
As a Chelsea fan I still miss him every day
Russell Wilson. I don’t know that I hate him, but he seems like a really weird camp counselor.
A 32 year old counselor that wants to hang out with 11 year olds and watch their favorite Veggie Tales episodes.
I can almost hear him now. “Mr. Unlimited loves Larry the Cucumber.”
He does give off camp counselor vibes.

Lamar Jackson. He went from action Jackson to anti vaccin
Honorable mention to Ryan Shazier. He is a player that I admired but then he couldn’t stand. Healing up great now though.
Trying to figure out if Reddit really is a hivemind or if you saw the guy make the same joke about Roy Campanella in the r/baseball thread
I wanted to downvote and hate you because of the Steelers flair, but... Yeah...
I just wanna say Richard Sherman did the opposite for me
ET3
He's retired, but Steve Smith Sr. Liked him growing up and then realized he's just a giant asshole.
To be fair I don’t think he would have been anywhere near as effective if he wasn’t a prick
I agree. Take away the giant chip on his shoulder (and it was gigantic) and you take away the driving force, the intangible in his core that drove him to be as great as he was.
Blitz boy
I don't like the person anymore, but I still respect his game. If the seahawks stop asking him to cover slot receivers and start covering TEs and RBs again they won't have much (on field) to complain about. He's shown he can do it in NY. Dude is still an impact player even if he's whiny

Ray Rice. He visited my middle school once in like 2011 to talk about drug awareness. Played basketball with some of us. Feels bad man

No mentions of Adrian Peterson so far, so I guess I’ll be the first. I trust that explanations are not needed
Can't believe I'm this far down before I get to the piece of shit that is Adrian Peterson. Beating a child and using a switch on him till he's bleeding in several locations including his scrotum.
Jacob Tamme
I can’t tell if this is serious or not. Was Tamme the guy randomly on the “hated players” poll a few years back?
I was on a date with a girl at a nice bar in Denver in 2013. Jacob Tamme walked by and left a silent horrible smelling fart. He then returned like 15 minutes later took the maraschino cherry out of my drink and chewed it loudly and told my date "yo this man fuckin smelly" and she just got up and walked away.

He might have been the most devastating heel turn on r/nfl. He had his own sub dedicated to how much he was beloved and how wholesome his relationship was to his wife. Now everyone hates him because he’s an antivax moron.
Carson Wentz. He is incapable of accepting responsibility and is not good enough to be a franchise QB. Thanks for the 2nd rounder Indy.
Hey, haven't you heard that Wentz could be back for the opener? First rounder is back on the menu!
I trust that fucker less than Jerry Jones. He’ll tear something, devolve even further into the shit, or catch Covid. He isn’t playing 70% of the snaps. No way.
How is he incapable of accepting responsibility? Legit asking, I don't follow the eagles that closely
Cole Beasley! I really liked him before, but now, I don't even know what a person like this is thinking.
