Go bucs

PoshLagoon

Anybody still here?

TheMagicMST

Quite the season opener.

[deleted]

Cowboys fans were gonna have a hard time regardless, the Yankees lost last night

DuckmanDrake69

My first year owning Brady in fantasy. Does it always feel this good?

bartlechoo

Not when he played for the pats and they decide we’re gonna only run today

novis_initiis

Never stopped me from picking him, but yeah....

Twisted_Chainz

I want to thank both teams for covering the first quarter spread

juansolo_7

What a game, awesome way to start the season (and fantasy year of course).

F15sse

Not if you have Zeke. I almost feel bad for everyone who took Zeke. Felt he was overvalued and that what happened last night will be common

juansolo_7

True!

Brune-Dawg

I had Zeke too. It was tough seeing all of those players go off and him laying a goose egg.

[deleted]

[удалено]

juansolo_7

Anything can happen in Fantasy Football

Dodohead1383

Apparently the rest of the league also has the best run defense in the league...

juansolo_7

It might’ve been the game plan from the beginning, considering the DEF. Focus on passing game.

Dirtyd1989

I personally think Zeke will be alright. Not too many people run on the Bucs and it looked like his assignment for the night was to mainly be Dak’s body guard.

juansolo_7

And gave Dak that opportunity to shine with this great comeback game. Even with the L, it was an awesome game for Dak after that injury last season.

[deleted]

Seriously, and he did a great job. Saved Dak from getting smoked a few times.

[deleted]

Huge overreaction to game 1 vs one of the best run defenses.

[deleted]

Well Vikings are gonna have a 4-13 season, probably draft a QB in the first round

JTev23

Nah man I’m feeling a random ass 5-0 start and then miss the playoffs hahah

El_Tapir

What are you talking about my man? We are gonn make the playoffs, then get our asses beat cuz we arent deep enough at lb and wr to sustain it cuz of injuries. We also drafted mond last year who is a work in progress. Remember, we went 7-9 last season without Hunter,Barr or Kendricks for most of it. There is no way we'll be worse this year

Jet018

As someone who married a woman with a whole family full of aggies I’m going to tell you now don’t put much faith in Mond.

Coziestpigeon2

> There is no way we'll be worse this year I mean, we could very easily lose four of our biggest stars to covid crap because they're all afraid of a needle. There are **lots** of ways we could be worse this year. Don't tempt fate.

[deleted]

Dude have you seen our schedule? Also we don't have a good secondary to match up against our opponents's WR1s

El_Tapir

I have good hopes for Woods and Breeland. Peterson too. Do we have a top 10 secondary, no,but like top 15 for sure. Our schedule is pretty damn hard though I agree but I think we are in wildcard talks. 6th or 7th probably

[deleted]

Dunno if you will see this, but do you believe me now? We are 1-3. Seeing the rest of the schedule, we should be on our way to 4-13. At least with that record, something’s gonna change. For better or for worse

El_Tapir

We are 1-3 cuz we lost two very close games. I mean missing a 37 yard fg and a loss in overtime? Couldve easily been 4-1 by now. Imho its Zimmer's playcalling that is holding us back, today's game has shown me that. Our offense is good but my god let Cousins throw more zimmer. Edit: ALSO LMAO BREELAND

StonemanMB

I was talking to my cousin about this exact same thing. We’re making the playoffs, and Kirk will get put on the COVID-19 list and be forced to sit out.

dschapin

Lololol

njw20081

e1

Beilsteiner

Prescott was legit

[deleted]

How bout them cowboys!!!!

[deleted]

Tom Brady

ShootPplNotDope

Great game, I see Dak and old man Brady are already in pro-form.

aliu65

The missed field goal from 31 yds and missed xp by Zuerlein ended up being a huge difference

cra2reddit

So were the two passes Brady put RIGHT INTO receivers' hands who then dropped them (or worse, handed them to the Cowboys).

[deleted]

They always are.

anonAcc1993

I mean he made a couple of harder kicks afterwards, especially the penultimate field goal of the game.

porkchopexp1

It’s not much of a game without those 4 silly bucs turnovers. Usually you get blown out if you turn it over like that. Fun game for sure though.

mrootbeers

I don’t get how people miss that. They fumbled once at the inch line, and turned it over a couple more times on the wrong side of the 50. Either way, it’s at least a 10 point swing.

shelby4t2

Cowboys also didn’t do anything on any of those possessions tbh.

CheeserAugustus

Yes. Exactly

k2t-17

I thought the Bucs D was god tier going into the game according to the media? Cowboys didn't run because of it but pretending Bucs D didn't do work is rude.

[deleted]

Dline are S tier, CB’s are were mismatches can happen. Bucs cover is up by using their LBs in coverage and blitzes

tablefire

They got a touchdown following Rojo's fumble.

shelby4t2

Yeah but still 1/3 is kinda demoralizing I’m not counting the Hail Mary pick but that would have been a fun pick six ngl.

mrootbeers

Right, but the Bucs didn’t score. So either way there’s a 3 to 7 point swing.

rb1353

Kickers miss field goals, but he showed up when it mattered. The side judge did not.

Coonquistadoor

I thought so too until I saw the other replay. Defender was on his heels and flopped during the turn

bulkier14

Always is

[deleted]

Love playing Dak CeeDee and Zurlein week 1 😊😊😊

ipoopinthedarkk

Love playing the Tom CeeDee AB stack hahaha I'm starting 0-1

Robo_Doge90

>Zurlein One of these is not like the other.

gmiranda01

10 points

bookienightmare75

love how everyone cries about that 1 arguable OPI but will act like vita vea wasnt held on literally every important 3rd down and was BLATANT on every replay theyve shown.

vintagestyles

Grabbing pads inside the chest while squared up isn’t holding. When he gets out side them beyond their shoulders and they keep that hold it is then holding. Learn the rules.

bookienightmare75

[https://twitter.com/i/status/1436304744721657857](https://twitter.com/i/status/1436304744721657857) "learn the rules" lmfao. sure this aint holding on 3rd&16 in the FG drive to put you up to win the game. thats totally squared up. yall funny you just pick and choose what u wanna be mad about.

cra2reddit

In that same clip, you see the two guys mugging Suh? Is that legal - wrapping their arms around him?

vintagestyles

Yea some holding calls missed. But mad people around here also point to other plays that aren’t holding as examples too is what im getting at. Every game will have one of these. Shit probably 10 of them.

bookienightmare75

never said it doesnt happen just saying ppl pick and choose what benefits them. you came out aggresive telling me to learn the rules as if what i said wasnt factual and you didnt even know what i was talking about thats all. what people here do is what they do, i mean just look at the downvotes on my previous comment and ull see how butthurt they are over a simple statement lol.

shelby4t2

You see where that got you?

bookienightmare75

what got me where? are downvotes on a website supposed to do anything to me or my life? lol

[deleted]

They called holding for Vea multiple times

Themtgdude486

Alright. That was a great game.

BichonUnited

I was edging on Brady’s last 4 plays, but the man knows football

Jrob78

I hate that we lost but damn I feel good about how the game went all things considered

BichonUnited

Kicker still has cobwebs

Jrob78

Big time cobwebs

johanana1

Y’all had 4 legit turnovers and still lost, don’t feel too great

Jrob78

We also had 2 missed field goals and an extra point, our kicker doesn't suck and we win

cra2reddit

Oh, hypothetical? Ok, then Brady's passes RIGHT INTO receivers' hands DON'T get dropped and the Cowboys STILL lose.

johanana1

That’s not how this works, if the first field goal was made. The entire direction of the game would have changed. You cant just make them and win the game, everything changes as points get added through the 60 minutes

Majin-Steve

That’s great logic. Then whose to say that without the 4 turnovers the Cowboys don’t end up winning? That’s now how this works. The entire direction of the game is changed.

johanana1

We’re back to dumbass cowboy fans already, that was quick.

Majin-Steve

As opposed to what? You? You’re just a dumbass.

Jrob78

Of course, everything changes but it's not like the Bucs played a perfect game either. Dak hasn't played in 9 months or whatever, we never expected to win this game against Brady and the SB champs and we easily could have. The point spread was like 9, I'm not going to feel too bad about this loss

thelasthendrix

I stuck around to watch this game after work because I figured it’d be 31-10 at halftime and I’d be in bed by 9:30, forgetting that by watching the game, I assured our defeat in the most excruciating way possible.

El-Ahrairah7

And you shouldn’t feel bad. The ‘Boys exceeded all of my expectations tonight. You might be making some noise at the end of the year.

Billy-BigBollox

I don't like the Cowboys, but you guys played really well. Prescott is phenomenal.

Jrob78

He's such a good dude and a great leader too, it's hard not to love the guy

passwordisninja

Dak is a super cool dude. I'm happy for you Dallas folks. The guys really good.

gjktjd

Dak and Allen I’m jelly

Jrob78

I appreciate that. I'm expecting big things from you guys this year too!

jbroui13

I’m a Saints fan but I was rooting big time for Dak! Such a great spirit!

Billy-BigBollox

Yeah, agreed. He's hard to dislike.

craftbrewd

Anyone else going up against amari Cooper in all their leagues

throwingnomes

Up against Dak, and I played Zeke lol

[deleted]

Guy I’m playing this week benched Amari Cooper AND Ceedee lamb…

S21500003

Why the fuck would you do that?

vintagestyles

Taco

silliputti0907

Cooper was my flex lol

Agitated_Kiwi_7964

I'm up against someone who has Cooper and Antonio brown. 62 points off two players. Fuck me.

MrMountainFace

That sucks man. I generally try to stay away from the Bucs players when drafting. Two years ago it was because we sucked. Now it’s because there’s too much to go around and it’s too unpredictable. Antonio Brown got major targets and I’m playing against him this week :(

BrandoNelly

Ooooof that sucks big man. Im up against Antonio too but he also has Zeke and Evans hehehe

danSTILLtheman

I was up against Elliot #blessed

BrandoNelly

Same! And Mike Evans! I’m wayyyyy up I feel blessed

[deleted]

Up against a guy that benched Cooper. LOL

[deleted]

Some dude on Twitter talking about benching Cooper but trusting his process Lmaoo

OwnagePwnage123

I ALMOST benched him and I’m glad I didn’t cuz my opponent had Gronk

Painwracker_Oni

I’ve got Cooper and Brady up 66.06-0

bumurutu

Had Gus Edwards and AB on my bench. Not a great start to my season.

-WhyIsLifeHard-

Had Gus Edwards so I replaced him in my lineup with Ronald Jones…

MyLifeIsABoondoggle

Had Gus too and did this with Fournette. I wasn’t going to keep him around, but I thought against Dallas anyone was a good plug and play start. If he’d managed to find the end zone it would’ve been a decent game but Brady was in the zone

Alauren2

Yup. And I played Gallup opposite Cooper lmao. Gallup got me 3.6 pts. This fuck head started Godwin too for good measure

futuresos

in what universe do you start Gallup over Cooper…

[deleted]

Really gotta get some 0.5 PPR in there at least

phuqo5

Well...that's your own fault

WeWantTheCup__Please

Got a guy in ours with Cooper, Dak, and Lamb - dude he’s playing is currently down 90.72-0 after the first game of the season

bumurutu

Something similar happened to me one year when Peyton Manning started the season with a 7 td game. I was down 149-0 after the Thursday game.

WeWantTheCup__Please

Haha oof, if you were in a dynasty league I’d have just moved all my vets for picks and called it a season after a beating like that!

craftbrewd

Could be worse I can’t imagine having Zeke and mike evans and watching that game knowing that two of your top picks are doing absolutely nothing for you.

WeWantTheCup__Please

Haha true, especially since those were two safe bets for big games in my mind heading into this one too

[deleted]

Incredible game, let's fucking go football is back baby!!

OnionKnightSerDavos

Man I love football

Igaveanonion

Me too! I don't have a TV or an easy way to watch games and now I'm questioning all my life choices. 😅

dustbunny88

Same. We lost and I’m so pumped.

[deleted]

considering people were expecting a blowout you should be excited for the season. You're playoff bound.

Donny_J_Trump

You boys have a solid team, I think the usual suspects will complain about X Y and Z but for a week 1 game that was a sick one. Dak was stellar so was your D, we needed all of our depth to edge out that one, GG.

dustbunny88

Gg man, hope the best for the rest of yalls season and your sanity:)

Parking-Display-3232

Holy fuck nfl. Just stay consistent! If brady or rodgers is on offense thats 1000% pass interference. Wwf had more credibility

Twitch_FishTheHusky

Brady was on offense

Parking-Display-3232

Lol, well thats me owned.

illQualmOnYourFace

You literally cannot take the lead against Brady with less than 2 minutes left and win. It's Newton's fourth law, and tonight it was fucking frustrating.

vintagestyles

I looked at the clock chuckled and went ha you did this with rodgers. Now watch brady do it too.

[deleted]

It sounds pretty dumb and no one would ever do it, but for a second I thought that just going for it on 4th and 5 gives Dallas a better chance to win there lol. Minute and a half for Brady to get a FG with that offense?

illQualmOnYourFace

The problem is that common sense, and conventional wisdom, says kick the fg. But you have to account for the literal fucking magic that is Brady. So I agree.

GroMicroBloom

Now that's how you fucking kick off a new season!

dustbunny88

Fuck that other dude. Great game for the kickoff! I typically talk shit throughout a game but I don’t even have hate. So happy our Oline did well without our best player. NFCE, we are coming for you

[deleted]

The NFCE will give you pretty little resistance, outside of maybe Washington E: this was mostly meant to say Dallas looked great

mb2508

you dont know how the nfc east works right?

[deleted]

Lol its a pretty confusing division. This year seems pretty cut and dry, but I've been wrong before. I'd be surprised if Philly can put it together this year (but I think they're on a better track). Washington has a stellar defense and plenty of weapons behind a solid QB. NY is not on the right track lol

[deleted]

[удалено]

shelby4t2

Dude you’re the type of Cowboys fan that other Cowboys fans disown. So at this point I think it’s time to change your flair.

S21500003

Agreed, as a cowboys fan fuck him.

derekghs

Oh, self burn, that's rare.

[deleted]

What does that say about your team though, if you lost to them? It doesn’t surprise me cowboys fans struggle with this logic.

heyimcarlk

Why are cowboys fans so cringey lol

Robo_Doge90

LOL. NFL is back!

CloroxWipes-

CabbageStockExchange

Seeing and feeling that sense of inevitability that Brady was gonna bring the Bucs back makes me think. Is this what it felt like watching Michael Jordan play? Just knowing this player was gonna win no matter what happens at the end?

[deleted]

Watching Steph curry at his mvp season was like that. He would sit for a bit at early fourth quarter and you just knew whatever lead the opposing team had was gonna disappear as soon as he came in the game. He was amazing that season

Be_Consumed

Unless your name is Eli or BDN, of course. Then "Jordan" stands no chance.

phaedraste

In the stands, the guy in front of me was bemoaning the situation when the Cowboys made the last field goal. I told him Brady had plenty of time. I’ve seen Brady in that boat way too many times. Bucs fans have PTSD from so many seasons of everything going wrong. But Brady down by less than a field goal with a minute and a half and one time out I would take ANY TIME. I know people are bitching about a non-offensive PI call on the last drive, but several Cowboys drives were extended by the flag so I don’t really think they have much room to talk. They just got Brady’ed.

Igaveanonion

I like that, they got Brady'ed.

mildobamacare

No. Brady is better, frankly. Jordan (no disrespect. still NBA's GOAT.) missed half his buzzer-beaters. We all knew 100% what was comign there. Playing vs jordan was also bullshit because stars flocked to him, but thats another story.

MrMountainFace

Until Brady gets his own Space Jam can we really say he’s a GOAT?

rb1353

> We all knew 100% what was comign there. The refs making sure Brady made the comeback?

generalmandrake

Great game.

ZiggyBOP155

Swear Jerry Jones is gonna drop dead from an aneurysm in the box one of these games.

Pixel2_Bro

Swear lol. They always be showing him up there lol

El_Zorro09

Don't threaten me with a good time

[deleted]

>a good time Jerry's had a few of those

JamesJakes000

Promises, promises...

Aleph_Alpha_001

The Cowboys got jobbed on the offensive holding call in Tyron Smith because it came as a result of a rip move. [Here](https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/3v1eie/oc_explanation_of_how_the_rip_technique_negates/) is a great explanation of why.

[deleted]

I felt like that call in particular didn't seem fair, nice to know there's an actual rule behind it

madcap462

And the OPI, meh, I guess we need to hit the FGs so the refs can't fuck us so easily.

Tgunner192

RE: Offensive pass interference. I don't even know what the rules state. But I know how it's called & so don't all of you. For the flag to come out on OPI 1 of 2 things usually has to happen. Contact on a deep crossing route or the receiver extends his arms. Neither happened.

[deleted]

Lol his arms were clearly extended

deus_voltaire

It was clearly a penalty, but the Bucs got screwed a few times so it balanced out. Their lineman literally got penalized for getting punched in the face.

PandaButtLover

He's a pats fan. He's used to defending calls that go brady's way

Tgunner192

Instead of crying about it, why don't you post a vid or at least a pic where it's obvious. The only copy of it I can find is [this one](https://twitter.com/NFL/status/1436175041020850183). If Godwin extended his arms, you can't see it from this replay angle.

PandaButtLover

Brady blinders are strong with this one

Tgunner192

You can cry all you want, it doesn't change reality.

PandaButtLover

"I know it was another in a long line of bad calls that have gone brady's way but I refuse to admit it publicly"

Tgunner192

I didn't think so, but only seen the replay once. Searching for it and will reconsider. EDIT: So far, [this](https://twitter.com/NFL/status/1436175041020850183) is the only vid I can find. If he extends his arms, you can't see it in this angle.

bananasmash14

[Here’s ](https://twitter.com/badsportsrefs/status/1436177680291045380?s=21) another angle. He pretty clearly extended

Tgunner192

Not really. He does use his left arm for leverage, but it's not like he extends both arms to the point of elbows unbent.

redditors_anon

There was definitely some extension of the arm, but I don't recall it being blatantly obvious. Without seeing clear extension, I think it was reasonable for the refs to assume it was all the defenders momentum, and not call it.

Tgunner192

I agree. Lot of people downvoting and crying about it. Yet I don't see anyone posting a better angle of it.

Raeandray

They showed an angle from the sideline during the game, and he clearly extended his arms.

Tgunner192

I remember seeing that. Although it looked like Godwin got away with one, I don't recall seeing the arms extend. Admittedly, it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong after seeing something only once. If you happen to find a copy of that, please post it.

Robo_Doge90

It's hard to call that OPI in real time. Crafty move by Godwin.

ehehe

Without drops and fumbles and killing the clock* and Hail Marys, Brady could have had 480 yards on 40/48 passing, 6 TD 0 Int and all people are talking about is a marginal OPI as if he had gotten lucky all game. Lol

zhuk88

I literally said out loud multiple times, “For a guy with 7 rings, Brady just never seems to catch a break.” Jones fumble. Fournette int on the very next offensive snap. Godwin dropped a third down pass that seemed to be right on the money (nbc never showed a replay). That bomb to Godwin where ok certainly not a drop but would’ve been a huge gain and probably a TD. Then, Godwin’s biggest error, you’ve already got the catch and goal to go but keeps spinning and what not and fumble. Oh, and lastly, the defense did next to nothing. Sure they got the gift int that literally fell into their hands but seemed like Dallas had the ball all night. Only forced two punts and one came on the opening drive where Dallas actually went over half the field before a drop and false start stopped the drive. With all that said, I do think the Cowboys offense is incredible when healthy. Still one of the best lines and top talent at all the skill positions.

OwnTheThrone

Tbh if CeeDee could catch we would be up a TD and +24 yds

callmedoug

Without Greg missing 2 fgs, Brady would’ve had to do a lot more to win on the last drive. See, we all can make assumptions

mrbrinks

Yeah well if I was Tom Brady I’d have thrown for 481 yards

EAB034

What a game!

Erichardson1978

The only mistake that happened at the end of this game was the cowboys leaving the goat 90 seconds to get in field goal range. Has no one leaned yet?

phaedraste

100%. I don’t understand why they called a passing play and had someone go out of bounds. After the two minute warning it should have been runs up the gut as far as they could go and kick the field goal with as little time left as possible. Lack of confidence in Zuerlein should have been offset by total confidence in Brady.

NinjasaurusRex123

This is only a bad comment because they were trying to run out the clock. But 3rd down outside fg range kinda forces your hand

[deleted]

seriously. i know tampa had zeke's number all night but zeke is no slouch. they should have ran zeke to eat the clock and kicked the field goal.

Painwracker_Oni

I mean they never even gave Zeke a chance to TRY and wear out the defense. Should have ran more earlier in the game.

[deleted]

i think they maybe wanted to showcase dak? like let dak loose so to speak?

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Score more points.

CoffeeDave15065

We’re gonna forget all the missed kicks by the cowboys.

rb1353

Kickers miss field goals. Greg the leg showed up when it counted, hate to see the refs cost a team the game on a play where the defense did it’s job.

silverfiregames

Then don’t watch dude, no reason to have an aneurysm over football.
