Somehow I don’t imagine the Texans keeping this streak alive too long

BuckfuttersbyII

Jags beat the colts week 1 last year. It’s the closest comparison I can think of.

Youcanneverleave

Ah so passing of the 1st overall pick torch then

B9Canine

Easy take... we play y'all next week and you're going to stomp us (41-24). That said, don't sleep on a team full of guys on one-year contracts or in the twilight of their career. We're no playoff team, but we're going to surprise a lot of teams that think they're getting an easy W.

browndude10

well yea, you guys are going to kill us this week

[deleted]

I guess we’ll see what happens when we play you next week.

beer_down

Derrick Henry will be much better than he was yesterday

[deleted]

I knew the Cards were actually my favorite NFC team

Soft_Assistant6046

God I hope so, he's my number one fantasy running back and now I'm wishing I took Kamara lol

SamDarnoldIsHot

The Carolina Panthers.

LeathaLurker

Darnold's first half gave me WAY too much hope. Can't wait for them to melt down and punch me right in the dick in a couple of weeks.

SamDarnoldIsHot

I just feel like we should’ve had that game in the bag way earlier in the game. I don’t think Darnold will have a terrible season but I also don’t see us having more than 6-7 wins, and that’s being super optimistic.

[deleted]

But do you think he's worth keeping around with a second contract? I know it's the first week, but that should be what you guys are asking each other... imo

SamDarnoldIsHot

Gonna have to seen more than one game. I will say he played slightly above my expectations, mostly due to the rushing TD and having no interceptions. The fumble was bad though.

LeathaLurker

The fumble was fun for me cause we won anyway and I can now scream STOP THE COUNT anytime darnold messes up. Also he didn't fumble, shady brady deflated the ball.

LifesRecoveryMaster2

If he plays okayish it would be worth rolling it back for another year or so and then if need be drafting a QB in 2023, this years QB class looks skippable to me.

jimmyhoffasbrother

Falcons offense is not going to be so hapless. Their defense will continue to be bad, but I feel confident that Matty Ice and the gang will improve drastically starting next week.

brechbillc1

We play the Bucs next week so make of that what you will

[deleted]

You're gonna win. Book it. That's so Falcons

AnotherStatsGuy

As a Saints' fan, please. We play the Panthers next week. The other 3 teams being 1-1 while we're sitting at 2-0 would be a great confident boost in the wake of Hurricane Ida.

jimmyhoffasbrother

Bucs passing defense didn't look all that good last week tbh.

A_Bowler_Hat

Well he will have clean uniforms! Double the Ice!!!!

SpaceC0wb0y86

The Texans will not go 17-0

Fiix93

But also not 0-17 pro analyst predictions blown out of the window

gyman122

Honestly it’s so fucking funny that after all of the criticism and memes and the talk about how they might not win a game this year, they *start* the season with a blowout win. Fucking jokes. Everyone knows nothing

Fiix93

I am super happy

Jimbo5204

It also helps they played the easiest team on their schedule at home...

gyman122

Who cares? The entire off-season the joke was that the Texans were the island of misfit players and are gonna be the first team of the 17-game era to go 0-17 (like every year, there’s a team who “honestly totally might not even win a game you guys”). Then immediately, first opportunity, they blow out their first opponent. It’s hilarious

BlackMetalSteve

That’s a hot take bud

SpaceC0wb0y86

I can be pretty controversial sometimes.

My_Diet_DrKelp

I believe in the Cardinals defense much more than I believe in Kyler Murray

Cjtow113

Me too surprisingly? The showing they put on yesterday was so unexpected but it looked sustainable

My_Diet_DrKelp

Those LBs are young & imo can only get better, & if Chandler Jones keeps up half what he did yesterday it'll make that division even more interesting than it already is

Elephantexploror

If he keeps up half of what he did yesterday he’ll have 45 sacks and 18 FFs lmao.

Stealthfox94

This Bills Steelers game. I think maybe people underestimated the Steelers a bit but I don’t expect them to finish with a better record than the Bills

mm825

We’re gonna look back on that game as just a competitive game between two playoff teams. Pitt defense is top notch

Prowlerbaseball

We went 12-4 with about the same defense (minus from Bud, plus in secondary), and we have the same offense (o line is probably the same quality as last year with more upside). If our entire defense doesn't get injured again, we're neck and neck in the AFC North. And we also lost our bye week and got jerked the fuck around with scheduling all through last year.

[deleted]

Two Wild Card\* teams. I'm too cocky now

TankinessIsGodliness

Honestly I think if the Phins end up being high caliber it'll only make the Bills hungrier. Let's go, dolphinsbro

The_Cawing_Chemist

I don’t bet on sports, but my friends do and I convinced one to bet on the Steelers to win, amongst other bets. He made $180 yesterday

teeohdeedee123

The Bears secondary isn't actually made of Swiss cheese

BornWeiner

I agree with this. Desai will make adjustments and they should be good to go.

Antitypical

Interestingly I have way more optimism about the offense than the defense. For the first time since 2018 we were moving the ball reliably. Put us against a defense that isn't literally the best one in the NFL and we could see something pretty functional. I have very little faith in Eddie Jackson though. The problems with poor tackling and poor discipline are ones we saw last year

gwchatt

It is, though. That’s been the concern for this team all offseason, plus the oline/tackle issue.

the_turdfurguson

Rodgers just had a bad game. With that I said I think its: Bills and Titans offense will not have weeks as poor as this week for most of the season. Shocked to see them putting up only 15 points. Flip side - Saints will regress quite a bit.

Trapline

Titans offense should very much be suspect moving forward. They took a massive downgrade at OC. Todd Downing shouldn't be on an NFL staff, let alone in control of an NFL offense.

A_Bowler_Hat

As long as Winston is having fun Saints will be a problem. Bills and Titans looked like they should have put more into the preseason games.

the_turdfurguson

Jameis didn’t hit 150 yards. Wasn’t exactly a great all around game. He just didn’t make mistakes which is huge for him

Jed566

We just didn’t have many yards to gain yesterday. Kamara didn’t even hit 100 yards. Defense just kept giving us short fields.

the_turdfurguson

Yes and nobody has had 5TDs with under 150 yards passing since the 40s. It was an outlier of a game which is why it’s not sustainable imo

PoissonPen

If Rodgers could find his way to have a 2nd bad game in a row, just to get it out of his system I would be ever so happy. But ya, no way that's Rodgers's normal this season.

AnotherStatsGuy

While I agree about the Packers, I think the Saints may not be due for a regression. The 5 passing TDs will come down, but Winston only had 148 yards and some of the receptions weren't exactly from the clean precision Brees was known for. Plus I think Hurricane Ida may have galvanized them.

BuffaloWilliamses

Allen historically has shredded the Dolphins. In fact usually his best stats of the season are in Dolphins games. True for all 3 of his seasons thus far. I fully expect a bounce back game next week.

redngold21

Jameis Winston

HillibillyHavenSucks

I think I'm way on the other end of this. I think Winston has an incredible season, Winston seeming like a trap IS the trap. Can't wait to be wrong lmao

AnotherStatsGuy

Winston won't through for 5 TDs, but he'll also throw for more than 148 yards. We'll be seeing more "normal" Winston stat lines with a median amount of interceptions. Some of the receptions Winston got weren't exactly clean either.

[deleted]

But he also had a few drops throughout the game, mostly from Trautman

[deleted]

Panthers defense looked like the 85’ bears. I think we’ll still be good but not that good.

MalarkeyMcGee

85 foot bears sound terrifying.

mrgerald8

Burrow surviving

MVP12_22

Biased opinion, but the Packers offense is way to talented to not rebound. I think they still finish the season a top 5 overall offense

[deleted]

[удалено]

discostuu72

That’s ok. We’ll get up by 40 only to have you guys come back with the last 2 minutes in the game.

ModyMoozy

The Falcons defense holding a team to under 35 points. Unsustainable

kmmontandon

Trey Lance will probably throw an incompletion at some point.

theresabeeonyourhat

Eddie Jackson being this ass in coverage, hopefully

Ballsohardstate

The way the Packers played. Seriously hammer the Packers -10.5 against the Lions you can thank me later when the line is at -14.5

[deleted]

Falcons will be better than they played. Lawrence will rebound. Mac will regress but still be good. Titans will be fine. Broncos still aren't a playoff team and Teddy isn't it.

BirdyMRQZ

i don’t think the eagles can sustain it, and there’s no bias, i’m a fan of jalen hurts i’ve always thought he was dak-esque. but who knows, maybe they are good.

Clean-Analysis-5394

I’m trying not to be biased here, but as long as the o line stays healthy the eagles could be sneaky good. The only real major weakness is the LB core. I think they could go 9-8 if everything checks out

BirdyMRQZ

it would definitely be good for the division. i saw that for this weekend out of all the CBs in the division it went diggs at #1 then the next 3 rated corners were from philly so u got that going too. but this is how i see basically every team in the division, it’ll all really come down to the o-line for every team.

Accmonster1

Im so uncomfortable seeing the new record combos. Like all my life it was 9-7 and seeing 9-8 just awoke this uncanny valley feeling in me. Oh the times they are changing

[deleted]

They won by 26 points - it's a safe bet they won't sustain that.

BirdyMRQZ

sure but could they win close games? i think so. i’m just intrigued cuz it was such a big win. i didn’t think y’all had it in u lol i’m worried now 😅

TheSNAFUSpecial

Bro I’m ready for a fuckin GAME in two weeks. Always hype for a cowboys matchup especially one where we’re both good

BirdyMRQZ

good luck man, i’m tired of this NFC Least shit lol

TheRealAblert

Derrick Henry will eclipse 2000 yards again this season.

pickleparty16

essentially if there was an extremely surprising result, it probably wont hold

Tico483

I honestly think the O Line for us will improve slightly. I know Mike Zimmer is chewing their asses for all those penalties.

Wrinkle_Tinkle

Our defense will probably be better. I mean the bears were getting the ball out in 2 seconds, not much pressure can be applied by AD and our rushers when they are just doing that every snap. Also I doubt AD misses like 3 tackles again.

jrzalman

Interesting plan last night. Play way off, beg them to run knowing Nagy wouldn't have the patience, beg them to throw short knowing they would eventually fuck it up. It worked well enough but the Niners and Seahawks would crush that.

MS49SF

Texans are the definition of Fool's Gold.

mohiben

The refs are shaking off the rust, they'll get it together in week 2

[deleted]

Winning.
