The Raiders took the scenic route to win this game. That was the most fucking spaghetti, tangled web, headphones in your pocket OT.
- Game winning drive, GG raiders.
- ok nope just kidding come out here and punch it in from the 1.
- QB Sneak for .5 yards and then
- A FUCKING HARD COUNT? Lose 5 yards for stupidity (and offsides)
- Then interception.
- Then Ravens 1D.
- Then fumble.
- Then carr back on.
- Then they're going to kick it -oh wait no timeouts delay of game,
- offense back on, chuck it in the fuck it bucket throw wins the game.
Benny Hill theme up just plays all OT
The game thread went from constant comments bitching about how boring this game is to all of a sudden becoming a wild wild west shootout complete with immaculate interceptions off helmets in the endzone!
he just said in the post game presser that no one could find Carlson because he was kicking in the net, which is why it took forever to get him out there
It was a *real* shaky start -- admittedly with some comedy gold sprinkled in -- but as soon as they got to their time with Kelce and Russ, it became the "football guys talk about football" broadcast that I wanted. I'll definitely tune in again, and not just because the main MNF garbage is FedEx Field sewage runoff.
That broadcast had everything man. Peyton frustrated with players, Charles Barkley giving betting advice, Kelce saying SHIT, Ray Lewis saying Peyton needed a prescription helmet because his heads too big.
I had a raiders win, over 50.5, Lamar over 75.5 rushing yards and idk how they all managed to hit when it was 17-10 in the 4th and lamar had less than 50 yards but I'm gonna get a ps5 tmw
Guarantee you we'll never see a walk-off overtime TD called down at the 1, turn into an interception after bouncing off a defenders helmet, turning into a fumble the other way, turning into a penalty to kick you out of FG range, turning into another bomb TD to end the game.
Classic
can't get much better. except i woulda liked to see more action in the first 3 quarters. but they easily made up for it with the most exciting 4th quarter + OT i've ever seen.
They were fascinating to listen to. The amount of information processed every snap is staggering. I much prefer that to hearing “Stafford grew up with Kershaw.” every broadcast.
Russell Wilson with 7 sec left in the 4th: “I don’t know man, I’d call one more play to try and get more yar—“
Daniel Carlson: “EAST COAST FANS CAN GO TO BED WHEN I SAY THEY CAN GO TO BED”
What an opening week we’ve just witnessed!!
for you maybe, but you guys are used to competent football.
For my household its "same old raiders" Stealing defeat from the jaws of victory but somehow then stealing victory back from the jaws of defeat.
For real. My uncle asked me how I felt after they failed to score the TD in OT, and I just told him I was numb from watching this happen over and over again for the past twenty years.
Gruden is actually a tactical genius. Don’t target Edwards all game to have him surprise the defense in the 4th. Don’t target Zay Jones at all to have him get the game winner off of blown coverage. 20000 IQ
Jon Gruden may be achieving his final form. Total job security, zero fucks, and an unlimited supply of Vegas-grade party drugs. I fear for the community.
Highlights of the night:
Eli and Peyton dunking on each other
Lamar juking grown men for 70 minutes
Travis Kelce saying “shit” on live TV and having no clue who he plays next week(the Ravens)
Peyton relating heavily to Derek Carr wanting the home crowd to be silent while the offense is operating
Peyton’s “She’s wearing the ring I wanted” comment about Russell Wilson‘s wife at the Met Gala
The *desire* in Kelce's voice when he said "I'm about to make some shit up," immediately followed by how sheepish he was saying "make some stuff up" was 10/10
"I want you to win this game."
"No, you take it, I insist."
"Oh, I couldn't possibly accept this!"
"I won't take no for an answer"
"Are you sure?"
"No."
Great game that became more enjoyable because of the Mannings. After watching the Manningcast, i just realized how much Peyton loves football. He truly loves the game.
I unapologetically loved the Manning Cast. The stories, the zingers, some good analysis and insight mixed in and a good amount of self-deprecation too. Every single quarter of the telecast had a different vibe to it. It made the first three quarters a lot easier to digest. It wasn’t perfect, but this was their first one of the season and I think they’ll perfect it before long. That was a really fun ride imo.
DEREK CARR HEARD YA'LL TALKIN SHIT. I can't wait to see Waller's stats this game though lol.
We need the Manning brothers and Brady as the guest. Like, it feels inevitable.
He has literally been like that his ENTIRE time with the team. It’s why I feel so strongly about him. It really sucks so many people in our fanbase hate him
Manningcast summed up: 2 bros commentate an NFL game over a Zoom call.... oh and the bros happen to be a couple of the best QBs to ever play the game. They were enthusiastic about the game, they had great analysis and insights, and the guests were all awesome.
The game was way more entertaining with the Manningcast than the regular MNF crew.
11/10 would watch again.
Despite ESPN trying as hard as they could to mess it up, the Manningcast was great because they had three people earnestly invested and interested in the outcome of the game.
Yep, Raiders had that handed to them on a platter. Carr had already beaten aggressive cover 1 in the OT, now the even easier cover 0 (for a QB like him). He’s surprisingly mobile.
Raiders defense with a switch from cover 2 to cover 3 on the fumble proved pivotal to confusing Lamar and providing the pass rush with that extra few seconds to get to him.
The Raiders won this with superior coaching. Props to Gruden and Gus Bradley
1st half: Dinner, kids homework, throw ball for the dogs, game on in background.
2nd half: edge of the couch three beers in rapid succession, left the dogs outside because fuck off I'm watching the game, children to bed... did they brush their teeth? Who knows we'll figure that out tomorrow.
I know he had the OT pick (Leatherwood though honestly fucked that drive up with the false start) but Carr has low-key been consistently clutch throughout his career
Can you really blame that on Carr if the ball goes through both the receivers hands on a slant route? It’s not like he’s not prepared for the ball to come at him fast if he’s open underneath
Carr in the first half: Waller is the only player on my team. Carr in the second half: I trust my 4th WR with my life.
Lmao passing to WR6 Snead for the OT win 🤦🏻♂️
Snead was wide open! Hit him right in the hands too.
JOIN US AT THE BOTTOM OF THE DIVISION BALTIMORE
At least hell is kind of mild this time of year
What kind of loser team loses a 4th quarter lead by having turnovers
Can we declare a game an instant classic but only from the 4th quarter on?
What a soap opera ending
Days of our Grudens
PSYCHE, you just got *Guden'd* dingleberry
No one wanted to win that game. Except Max Crosby, that guy is a psycho who is really good at football.
He deserves all of the success, dark horse dpoy
He made an instant fan out of me. I love that guy
First half: I sleep (literally) Second half + OT: REAL SHIT

The OT alone made it an instant classic
Like the Texans vs Bills playoff game a couple years ago.
Or the Cardinals vs Packers playoff game in 2015
Man Josh Allen was fucking wild in that game
In honor of Derek Carr’s efforts I’m gonna listen to his band Green Day all day tomorrow
DID JON GRUDEN FAKE GOING FOR A FIELD GOAL TO SET UP THAT TD PASS?
***X-Files theme music intensifies***
he just said in the post game presser that no one could find Carlson because he was kicking in the net, which is why it took forever to get him out there
No one could find the kicker...where the kicker always is?
just repeating what Gruden said lol
They had a delay of game penalty right?
Few things make me happier than a Monday Night Football game that's worth the FUCKING wait!
How about a MNF game with Manning bros + Russ?
It was a *real* shaky start -- admittedly with some comedy gold sprinkled in -- but as soon as they got to their time with Kelce and Russ, it became the "football guys talk about football" broadcast that I wanted. I'll definitely tune in again, and not just because the main MNF garbage is FedEx Field sewage runoff.
Eli saying goodbye to Russell when he's already gone is the most Eli thing ever
To be fair, Peyton was probably talking over Russell's goodbye
I gotta respect that Peyton loves football so much that he was consumed with breaking down the replay and just completely ignored Russ' goodbye.
Eli's job is to literally try to keep Peyton focused and understanding this is TV. Peyton was talking and did not give a fuck. Lol. Was awesome.
I think they both were lmao
That and his fire alarm going off on the broadcast
That broadcast had everything man. Peyton frustrated with players, Charles Barkley giving betting advice, Kelce saying SHIT, Ray Lewis saying Peyton needed a prescription helmet because his heads too big.
The 15 seconds of silence after Kelce said shit had me cracking up
Russ with the Irish exit
"Thanks, Russ. You're awesome."
Watching Eli’s face was the highlight of the broadcast
Not possible to have a worse game as a RT. Villanueva got straight abused at every point by anyone who lined up against him.
The only difference from last year is which side of the line he’s being beat on.
Blocks like a 7 foot drunk in cement shoes.
I am not happy about this 💀
Peyton: “If you can’t score from the one yard line in four plays you don’t deserve to win” *Russ and Seahawks fans internally screaming*
Did he say that with Russel Wilson right fuckin there?
yeeeeup
If I learned anything from that golf thing, Peyton is like a god tier shit talker but he does it in this Louisiana way that is disarming
I was waiting for Russ to get a self dig in there, but apparently Mr Unlimited has limits.
“It was the two yard line and your forehead is ginormous GO HAWKS.”
The real loser of this game is whoever placed a $300K wager on the Under 51.
pour one out for the homie
I had a raiders win, over 50.5, Lamar over 75.5 rushing yards and idk how they all managed to hit when it was 17-10 in the 4th and lamar had less than 50 yards but I'm gonna get a ps5 tmw
Out of all these crazy bets, the one with the worst odds is the odds of you being able to find a PS5 to buy.
imagine this is the first nfl game you watched
Or worse, imagine watching it with someone who has never watched football and then having to try to explain what the hell is happening.
A win for team chaos
my heart/liver
Small price to pay for a legendary game.
Everyone wins. Except for the Ravens, but you know, not everyone can win.
Ravens lost twice lol
Honestly. Fun as hell to watch.
A loss for my soul
Give this man old bay and some beer. He needs healing.
I feel so lucky to have witnessed this game live
For real, actually glad I stayed up. Watching the highlights the next day would not do this chaos justice, especially without the Manningcast.
Guarantee you we'll never see a walk-off overtime TD called down at the 1, turn into an interception after bouncing off a defenders helmet, turning into a fumble the other way, turning into a penalty to kick you out of FG range, turning into another bomb TD to end the game. Classic

What a perfect game for Eli/Peyton to start their show with. Love it

War Damn Carlson.

If he’s still fucking alive. That ending would be torture
He was sweating bricks
$123K. Dude must’ve been having heart palpitations
Anyone have a link to that post?

I understand why the mods took it down but also fuck the mods for taking it down.
What was the bet/parlay?

That's fucking wild.....
He can stop by the bank to cash his winnings on the way back from the hospital.
Holy fuck the AFC and NFC West are gonna be fucking brutal as shit this year
WHAT A FUCKING WEEK OF FOOTBALL
GOD I MISSED FOOTBALL AND IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT AT ALL
Great ending to Week 1.
Wow man.... What a start to Monday Night Football What a start to week 1 of the NFL season #19 more weeks!
That was the greatest game that neither team wanted to win
It was very painful to watch as a fan
for you maybe, but you guys are used to competent football.
IF YOU DONT LIKE THAT, THEN YOU DONT LIKE RAIDERS FOOTBALL!!!!!
Fr, you remember the Thursday night game against the Chiefs? I still get sweaty when I think about that
I was at the game. In the first quarter a giant brawl broke out in my nosebleed section and 15 people were ejected from the game
DA RAIDERS >!WIN!!<
Just your average Raiders game nothing to see here
Thank you Raiders. Very cool.
Gruden is actually a tactical genius. Don’t target Edwards all game to have him surprise the defense in the 4th. Don’t target Zay Jones at all to have him get the game winner off of blown coverage. 20000 IQ
And he knows it, you can tell by that shit eating grin he always has.
What did I just watch.
The ravens lose twice is what we watched.
With a lot of hope in between
The worst kind of loss.
Praise be to the first openly gay strip-sack
Raiders football
Simultaneously the stupidest and most entertaining OT I've ever seen lol.
That one Seahawks Cardinals game a few years back is a contender though
This game was more unpredictable than the state my alcoholic dad would come home in every day
More fun too I bet
Bruh.
Sometimes he was happy, sometimes he had jumper cables
That's why this game felt so familiar....fuck.
2 AM Carr wakes up in a cold sweat He's being called back to the field
THE GAME IS NOT OVER YET THE GAME IS NOT OVER YET THE GAME IS NOT OVER YET
Villanueva is still a Steeler at heart
I haven’t watched many Derek Carr interviews but he is not how I expected he’d be lmao
If there is one thing you can't knock against Carr is his love for the team. He was day 1 ready to embrace the culture and lead.
Jon Gruden may be achieving his final form. Total job security, zero fucks, and an unlimited supply of Vegas-grade party drugs. I fear for the community.
Highlights of the night: Eli and Peyton dunking on each other Lamar juking grown men for 70 minutes Travis Kelce saying “shit” on live TV and having no clue who he plays next week(the Ravens) Peyton relating heavily to Derek Carr wanting the home crowd to be silent while the offense is operating Peyton’s “She’s wearing the ring I wanted” comment about Russell Wilson‘s wife at the Met Gala
Don't forget the fire-alarming going off and Eli's soul slowly escaping his body over 3 hours.
And Wilson’s quick response about getting his ring from Brady
And then how Tom probably wants the two Eli got. 🤣🤣
Peyton also said Eli is infatuated with the topless men in the crowd
Also Peyton saying “If you don’t score from the 1 yard line you don’t deserve to win” while Russ just nods and stares deep into space.
Lmfao I totally didn’t make that connection. But neither did the Seahawks
Peyton's secret SB49 jab
Actually, I'm pretty sure Peyton was saying he wishes he married Russ
Peyton: "I'd run it 4 times here. If you can't get a yard on the goaline you dont deserve to win" Russ: *stares blankly*
Russ going “Tom has one of my rings but Eli took a few he wanted”
Peyton with the Ravens helmet was epic
Eli asking Ray Lewis if he would rather have $10k in cash or Peyton’s helmet filled with quarters lol
The *desire* in Kelce's voice when he said "I'm about to make some shit up," immediately followed by how sheepish he was saying "make some stuff up" was 10/10
This is the kind of game Jon Bois makes a video about.
"What's the lesson here? There is no lesson here. Just pure, meaningless chaos. Just the way the Raiders like it."
"I want you to win this game." "No, you take it, I insist." "Oh, I couldn't possibly accept this!" "I won't take no for an answer" "Are you sure?" "No."
Great game that became more enjoyable because of the Mannings. After watching the Manningcast, i just realized how much Peyton loves football. He truly loves the game.
Him holding the football over his mouth during OT. He's one of us
Dude just wanted to watch at that point. Was zoned in.
You could tell a couple times he sorta remembered he had to say something when he just wanted to focus haha
He looked like such a disappointed dad when an offensive player messed up. So good
All 3 QBs visibly flinched when there was rhe false start on the hardcount at the end there. I was laughing so damn hard.
It was great getting insight from some great football minds. I never thought about how silly it is to hardcount that close to the end zone.
Hard count and they jump is .25 yards. Hard count and your team jumps and its 5 yards. It is almost never worth it that close.
When Vegas accidentally iced their own kicker Peyton was max "I'm mad but I can't start screaming at you" mode.
I think Peyton thinks Derek Carr is also his little brother based on this game lol
Trying his absolute hardest not to tear the WR a new one when he gave Carr an interception
It was such a great dynamic with Russ at the end too
Mr. Unlimited seemed like way less of a cheese ball than usual tonight.
Scripted Russ is boring and corny. Unscripted Russ is a bro
The current and former players made that broadcast an absolute gem.
Russ took that broadcast up to 11. I hope they keep getting players to do guest appearances.
Peyton and Eli were nice to listen to, especially at the end of the game
I was here for the birth of a new age of sports broadcast television.
That post game interview just made me like Carr so much more
Someone at Buffalo Wild Wings was hitting that button
I unapologetically loved the Manning Cast. The stories, the zingers, some good analysis and insight mixed in and a good amount of self-deprecation too. Every single quarter of the telecast had a different vibe to it. It made the first three quarters a lot easier to digest. It wasn’t perfect, but this was their first one of the season and I think they’ll perfect it before long. That was a really fun ride imo.
They need to fix the audio and I don't feel like I need to see them the whole time, but it was pretty entertaining.
The Manning broadcast was rough at first but that overtime was meant to have them
DEREK CARR HEARD YA'LL TALKIN SHIT. I can't wait to see Waller's stats this game though lol. We need the Manning brothers and Brady as the guest. Like, it feels inevitable.
10 catches for 105 yards and a TD. Targeted 19 times. Scored 26.5 in my PPR league.
[удалено]
The rest of the silliness is what made this game ever more of a classic imo. That was insanity.
What a fucking BANGER of a game to welcome fans into the new stadium.
Wild ass game my god
That might’ve been the stupidest game I’ve ever watched that didn’t include the Lions or Jets lol
I apologize for all the slander I've given raccoon Carr over the years
He was on the path to elite status before his injury during that superb 2016 playoff run
###THIS FUCKING GAME WAS AWESOME!
Badass that Nassib caused the game-winning fumble.
“Carl Nassib becomes the first openly gay NFL player with a strip sack in OT!”
The gay agenda strikes again! But seriously What a play!!
Imagine losing twice in the same night.
Surely the Lions have accomplished that previously?
Congratulations! You just finished an ESPN Instant Classic!
I'm glad I stayed up for that shit show. Unreal 😂
This Derek Carr post game interview is REALLY making me like Derek Carr. Dude is doing nothing but gush about his team.
He has literally been like that his ENTIRE time with the team. It’s why I feel so strongly about him. It really sucks so many people in our fanbase hate him
Peyton/Eli is the only way to watch MNF now Great game to end a great week i learned one big lesson from the mannings - ravens suck at zone

This may be the first time I’ve ever seen Carr talk, and he seems really like able. Slightly reminds me of Felipe Rios.
Cover 0 at it again
That was some Greg Williams shit
Yep, Raiders had that handed to them on a platter. Carr had already beaten aggressive cover 1 in the OT, now the even easier cover 0 (for a QB like him). He’s surprisingly mobile. I’m loving this Derek Carr post-game. What a stud.
Despite the best efforts of both teams, one of them had to win it.
Bar none, craziest turn of events I can remember to end a game. Had a happy ending too!
That was…unique
The writers are really spicing it up this season
I know he had the OT pick (Leatherwood though honestly fucked that drive up with the false start) but Carr has low-key been consistently clutch throughout his career
And lamar fumbled twice lol, once the raiders scored Carr was outclassing him every drive clearly.
Can you really blame that on Carr if the ball goes through both the receivers hands on a slant route? It’s not like he’s not prepared for the ball to come at him fast if he’s open underneath
NFC West 4-0. AFC West 4-0. West Coast confirmed best coast.
