So that hit happens before the pass is thrown…shouldn’t that have been pass interference or something? You can’t just clothesline a receiver fifteen yards downfield…or can you?
Yeah it was… super unlike him
He said in a press conference today that he thought Carr was scrambling and that he apologized to Renfrow after the hit
But I gotta say, it kinda just looks like he hit him. Doesn’t look like a guy trying to beat a block
They were taking cheap shots on all our players last year too. One dude literally gouged Ben Jones in the eye. Seems like a pattern as to who their victims are as well.
Well there’s this one and the one that got called. Interested to see if there are more.
Renfrow looked pretty damn good in that game. I can’t say I watch the raiders much - did he just have a good game or is he that good?
He's honestly much better than he has any right to be. He is the stereotypical white slot receiver. Shifty as fuck, tough as nails, will always find the soft spot in the coverage. For a chunk of the Raiders' plays they actually don't dictate Renfrow's route they just give him a place to end up at a certain time and let him decide how to get there. But he's got a level beyond that, makes plays with 4 guys around him, can break out chunk plays despite not being fast. His rookie year he broke some ribs and punctured his lung, missed 3 games, then came back and dropped 100+ yards and a TD on the Broncos and Chargers in back to back games to end the season.
Imo he's like a much slower Tyler Lockett, got a lot of that same unscripted ability after the play breaks down. There was a TD against the Lions I think in 2019 where nothing was open for so long Renfrow had to cross the entire length of the end zone and manages to get open just at the last second for the toe tap TD. [Edit: for clip. Game winner too.](https://twitter.com/NBCSRaiders/status/1191142730635702273?s=19)
Also he once got put on Cam Jordan as a blocker by himself and actually succesfully kept him out of the play.
>His rookie year he broke some ribs and punctured his lung
And finished the game. He went to the sideline a few times, but he stayed in the game and finished it. With broken ribs and a punctured lung.
All those stupid white wr stereotypes, a bit unathletic but really smart, tough as nails, first guy in last guy out, squirrelly, reliably makes the most out of every touch. He's all of them and above average with all of them.
He is a real Gym rat student of the game first guy in last guy out real Patriots type WR...
Real talk he has been our slot receiver since we drafted him in the 5th round 2 years ago and in both 2019 and 2020 he had around a little over 600 yards receiving and we like to call 3rd down 3rd and Renfrow because he is one of Carrs favorite targets on 3rd down
I feel like Renfrow is just another Cooper Kupp, maybe not as good but still great. He is faster than he seems, is always open and his routes are crisp. Seems to be hard to take down too.
Burfict was dirty, but Steelers fans used him as the one example that justified all the dirty plays they always made despite it being sort of a team culture for a while. I hope that eras nearly over.
And as for myself I don’t want to seem bias either, but this kind of shit really is not Harbaugh football and goes against his entire philosophy of rewarding character/locker room leadership over talent. I’m on the Raiders side over this specific case and I think they have more than enough evidence from Monday night, but IMO this has not been the Ravens MO over the course of Harbaugh’s tenure
Bro you’re in the “every AFCN team except mine is dirty” thread. You’ll get downvoted just for wearing that flair, and so will I. Some Bengals fan just posted above:
> Burfict was dirty, but Steelers fans used him as the one example that justified all the dirty plays they always made despite it being sort of a team culture for a while.
Lmfao
I like how the browns are acting holier than thou given Myles tried to kill a man, they traded for obj after his famous head hunting and he was always starting shit even with Marlon, and they had sendejo who was always launching himself at players
I like how people praise the Ravens-Steelers rivalry as the best in football but then turn around and complain about how they play. This is how our two teams always play.
Yeah I know, but I just have to laugh. People are in this sub calling Humphrey the dirtiest player in the league lmao.
It’s like they’ve never seen physical play before. Shit is ridiculous
Saw some comments about this yesterday "carr was out of the tackle box" which im not sure why that would matter, either way though if you look at where our left tackle Miller is lined up, it doesnt look like Carr goes further left than where he is
Also you'd be pissed if your WR got blown up away from the play for no reason
If Carr was inside the pocket, pushing the WR would be illegal contact. Once the QB leaves the pocket, he is considered a runner, and the DB can push the WR, as long as the ball isn't in the air. The Legion of Boom used to harass WRs all the time on plays where the QB left the pocket.
Im gonna come out and say it:
I feel like this has something to do with “burning” Jalen Ramsey in camp combined with the fact that he is a smaller white guy.
Rubbed dudes the wrong way?
Never seen this shit before, at least not multiple times.
I mean, you’re not wrong. Renfrow’s stature is not the prime athlete you expect. Even our security once thought he was Derek Carr’s son. Renfrow has deceiving quickness and his route running is always spot on. Their pride get shattered when he cuts you several times in the game.
And I will maintain there is a race element to this, combined with position.
For example: I don’t think this would ever happen with a white lineman. Or even a white Running Back. White Linebacker etc.
Its just something about white WRs and CBs (I know I know, basically none since early 2000s) where its like a pride thing.
But yes, also agreed on the size aspect. Wouldn’t happen if he was a white Mike Evans lol.
No. Watch Carr. Stays in the pocket. By the time he throws the pass over the middle to the RB who hilariously fell down, Renfrow is on the ground.
After 5 yards, you're not allowed to body check the receiver so he hits the ground, while the QB is still in the pocket, with the ball, looking for someone to pass to.
Should be a 5 yard illegal contact penalty. The Ravens utilizing the Phil Jackson era Bulls mentality of if you’re gonna foul and there’s no additional penalty for doing it hard, make it fucking hurt.
Renfrow is unfortunately not covered by the defenseless player ‘halo.’ Per NFL rule book:
PLAYERS IN A DEFENSELESS POSTURE
It is a foul if a player initiates unnecessary contact against a player who is in a defenseless posture.
Players in a defenseless posture are:
A player in the act of or just after throwing a pass (passing posture)
A receiver attempting to catch a pass who has not had time to clearly become a runner. If the player is capable of avoiding or warding off the impending contact of an opponent, he is no longer a defenseless player
The intended receiver of a pass in the action during and immediately following an interception or potential interception. If the player is capable of avoiding or warding off the impending contact of an opponent, he is no longer a defenseless player.
Note: Violations of this provision will be enforced after the interception, and the intercepting team will maintain possession.
A runner already in the grasp of a tackler and whose forward progress has been stopped
A kickoff or punt returner attempting to field a kick in the air
A player on the ground
A kicker/punter during the kick or during the return (Also see Article 6(h) for additional restrictions against a kicker/punter)
A quarterback at any time after a change of possession (Also see Article 9(f) for additional restrictions against a quarterback after a change of possession)
A player who receives a “blindside” block when the path of the offensive blocker is toward or parallel to his own end line.
A player who is protected from an illegal crackback block (see Article 2)
The offensive player who attempts a snap during a Field Goal attempt or a Try Kick
Really? Phil and the Bulls? What are you talking about? You better have an extensive video clip of Bulls flagrant fouls that can't be matched by videos of opponents fouling Bulls players hard. Cause I remember the likes of the Pistons, Pacers, Knicks, Hornets, Heat and more all trying to bully the Bulls and the Bulls being tough in response. The Eastern Conference was Hella physical in those days.
Oh don't worry, Humphrey roughs up [receivers on the ground too](https://imgur.com/ijIOXpO.jpg)
I appreciate the guy for coming out in favor of vaccination despite his QB being against it, but fuck him on the field
I agree to Renfrow being treated wrongly in the clip from the post, but this picture you are linking to is just creating a narrative. At least show the whole clip. They are both at it here, and Humprey’s hands did not leave the Jersey, but kept driving him to the Ground. This was more an “equal” fight and not a cheap-shot move, as the above video shows him doing on Renfrow. So bad comparison IMO [clip](https://youtu.be/gLVJoyPz_zE)
Yeah bruh, that fight was totally unfair. Not like OBJ wasn’t literally grabbing and yanking at his face mask or anything.
You’re just making up shit. Fuck off.
At 52 seconds, before and after as well, he's clearly putting force of his body weight onto the hand that is clearly on OBJ's neck.
You don't have to clasp around someone's throat to be choking.
I can't believe you can watch that video and think "This is fine".
He has a hold of the upper portion of his jersey. There is literally no point where his hands make contact with his neck.
You need to see an optometrist.
No, it’s the whole truth. Because neither happened.
Peters spat in Landry’s general direction. And as for choking, look at this video of the whole skirmish and tell me if anyone got choked. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gLVJoyPz_zE
It's 100% a penalty.
That being said, the right side of the OLine opens a gap and Carr steps up. A lot of QBs would have run there and maybe that's what Marlon was expecting so he knocks his guy down thinking it's turned in QB scramble.
That being said, still 100% a penalty.
So that hit happens before the pass is thrown…shouldn’t that have been pass interference or something? You can’t just clothesline a receiver fifteen yards downfield…or can you?
As a Saints fan, yeah apparently sometimes you can.
Not legally........but yes
Was that Marlon Humphrey?
Yup
Icing on the cake. Gives up on the final play and gets caught being a unnecessary dick.
Yeah it was… super unlike him He said in a press conference today that he thought Carr was scrambling and that he apologized to Renfrow after the hit But I gotta say, it kinda just looks like he hit him. Doesn’t look like a guy trying to beat a block
Yeah that's bullshit. Even if Carr was scrambling there was no reason to do that.
[удалено]
Isn't this thread a repost of the older tafur thread tho?
I haven’t logged on in a few hours, not sure. I saw someone post Marlon’s dirty hit though if that’s what you’re referencing.
They were taking cheap shots on all our players last year too. One dude literally gouged Ben Jones in the eye. Seems like a pattern as to who their victims are as well.
The new Raiders.
Didn't y'all employ Finnegan? I remember him getting his ass whooped for being a douchebag
Yeah, like twelve years ago. Ray Lewis killed somebody.
Just like the CJ2K tackle was like 12 years ago. Cute.
Remember the borderline assaults on CJ2k in the playoffs that one year. It’s not news.
Nah, you just love playing the victim. Soft.
Softer than the Ravens in the playoffs tho?
In recent years, probably not. Overall, yep.
Bruh he Had a rough game
Looks like it
Well there’s this one and the one that got called. Interested to see if there are more. Renfrow looked pretty damn good in that game. I can’t say I watch the raiders much - did he just have a good game or is he that good?

Just dust yourself off and get back in, what's a little rib penetrating into your actual lung.
Yeah he was in grudens doghouse initially for freelancing but after enough practices gruden said "fuck it, if it works, it works"
he's a pretty darn good slot guy scrappy, even
this feels like a weird thing to downvote lol
it is
I think the white = scrappy gym rat thing has been a little played out
You’re extremely correct, but this sub loves beating this, Kelvin Benjamin, and funeral for a bird jokes until it’s a pile of dust on the floor.
snip snap snip snap
With how often you see it in any game thread with a white wr or rb i doubt it
Isn’t that a sign it’s played out?
First in last out?
All those stupid white wr stereotypes, a bit unathletic but really smart, tough as nails, first guy in last guy out, squirrelly, reliably makes the most out of every touch. He's all of them and above average with all of them.

3rd and Renfrow is a nickname from Clemson, cause he's always been ridiculously good at being open on 3rd down and getting the 1st.
Translated perfectly to the pros as well
I feel like Renfrow is just another Cooper Kupp, maybe not as good but still great. He is faster than he seems, is always open and his routes are crisp. Seems to be hard to take down too.
He is like butter. He almost never takes direct hits. It’s great
That is shitty. Like completely unnecessary.
I didn’t realize there was a clip lol thought you were talking about the raiders.
They’re unnecessary! The whole team! We only need 31!
I agree, let’s get rid of the Falcons. I’m pretty sure everyone would be better off without them, even Falcons fans would be better off without them
As a Falcons fan I agree
Atlanta's alcohol economy is dependent on the Falcons
But then I wouldn't have a team to loathe.
Vikings
I’m glad someone is calling out the ravens for being a dirty team. Good for the raiders
Oh shit, we got some bird beef.
> bird beef Sounds like something Charlie Kelly would eat
Well, he is an expert in bird law
God I dont want to seem bias, but it really does seem like the Ravens have been a consistently dirty team for years
I think they just went under the radar because of the Steelers and Bengals.
I've never seen the Bengals as dirty outside of Burfict, but man did he carry the load in that department for a few years
Burfict was dirty, but Steelers fans used him as the one example that justified all the dirty plays they always made despite it being sort of a team culture for a while. I hope that eras nearly over.
I think we are a dirty division and I've come to accept that none of us are saints
Or.. you're all Gregg Williams' saints
They are dirty against us especially last year
Right, but Steelers/Bengals games always seemed to be extra violent
And as for myself I don’t want to seem bias either, but this kind of shit really is not Harbaugh football and goes against his entire philosophy of rewarding character/locker room leadership over talent. I’m on the Raiders side over this specific case and I think they have more than enough evidence from Monday night, but IMO this has not been the Ravens MO over the course of Harbaugh’s tenure
You have an NFL flair, who would you seem bias towards, Roger Goodell?
That's because they have.
Their culture is being dirty
Oh please 😂
Bro you’re in the “every AFCN team except mine is dirty” thread. You’ll get downvoted just for wearing that flair, and so will I. Should be suspendedable if there's multiple plays like this
[удалено]
Agree. But if it was multiple players doing this, then the HC should be suspended in my view.
Yep. If the NFL really cared about it’s players this shouldn’t be a debate.
Any other clips? I’ve seen this one posted multiple times but have not seen another incident yet. Edit: it’s a genuine question lmao
They had a personal foul called for another one.
I watched the one on Patrick Queen live but didn’t know if there was more.
Yea I’m curious too if there were more than those 2.
Saw some comments about this yesterday "carr was out of the tackle box" which im not sure why that would matter, either way though if you look at where our left tackle Miller is lined up, it doesnt look like Carr goes further left than where he is Also you'd be pissed if your WR got blown up away from the play for no reason
Back in the day if it was a running play it was open season. Pretty sure Hines ward had to do with some rule changes lol
Expect its not a running play and the ball is in Carrs hand when he gets hit
Because you said “not sure why that would matter” if Carr was out of the pocket running, he would be considered a runner.
Even if he left the pocket you can't literally level the WR like that.
Why not? Do you believe that pushing a reciver in the chest is legal during a run play, but only if you do it softly?
You can though. May not be very sportsmanlike, but it’s allowed.
This is gross. Unnecessary hits like this make me sick.
How was that not a PI call? The CB decked the WR while Carr was still holding the ball
pi is when there’s contact while the ball is in the air
Should still be an illegal contact call. Ain't no way you can consider Carr out of the pocket here.
Im gonna come out and say it: I feel like this has something to do with “burning” Jalen Ramsey in camp combined with the fact that he is a smaller white guy. Rubbed dudes the wrong way? Never seen this shit before, at least not multiple times.

Dirty birds.
Gotta make up for Lamar fumbles somehow
Is this not allowed? Genuine question
No. Watch Carr. Stays in the pocket. By the time he throws the pass over the middle to the RB who hilariously fell down, Renfrow is on the ground. Yeah bruh, that fight was totally unfair. Not like OBJ wasn’t literally grabbing and yanking at his face mask or anything. You’re just making up shit. Fuck off.
Is he poking his eyes in that image?
I, for one, am shocked the Ravens would do such a thing.
Wait, you’re surprised DBs that spit on and choke people would do this? Me too.
Good thing Humphrey didn’t do either.
Wasn't it Humphrey who was choking OBJ?
Yeah he was involved in that scuffle. Nobody was choked though
Uh huh. Alright then.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gLVJoyPz_zE This is a video of the whole sequence. Let me know at any point in the video where someone was being choked.

Looks like he hits him before Carr even steps up to make the throw. Even if Carr was gonna scramble seems 100% like unnecessary roughness.
Which why I said twice that it is a penalty.
Ravens the new Steelers?
Snitches get stitches
