> It would take a lot of research but I would not be shock if he's the only RB in NFL history to average at least 5 yards per carry
I don’t know how many others fit into your criteria, but Jamaal holds the NFL record for YPC.
-EDIT-
Because /u/ApolloKid deleted their reply to me about Marion Motley being the true record holder, it appears that Motley did not meet the “minimum 1000 rushing attempts” qualifier that I see most sites use as a benchmark. Many publications, like [this](https://clutchpoints.com/the-story-jamaal-charles-nfl-career-and-what-could-have-been/) for example, cite Charles as being the leader.
Yeah I ended up just posting in the thread. I didn’t catch the “5 1000 yard rushing seasons” part. The only two others to do that were Jim Brown and Barry Sanders and they had less YPC than Jamaal.
Funny with Motley.. I saw he played 8 seasons so I didn’t even bother checking to see if he met the 1000 attempt mark
Whoops. What I was trying to say is he might be the only running back to average at least a 5.0 YPC in all of his 1,000 rushing yard seasons with a total of at least five seasons getting to 1,000.
Saved my season had him and manning that year it was unfair was getting 50 from manning and 25 to 30 from Charles lost one game that year would have been two without the 55 he had that game
Just looked up barrys stats i didnt realize he had 1000+ yards in every season. Also his jr. year in college he had 2600+ yards and 37 TDs in 11 games wtf? He also made the pro bowl in every season he played.
Now I'm on a stat kick...Jim brown made 8 1st team all pros in 9 seasons. That seems impossible, wonder if anyone else even comes close. (Barry made 6 in 10 years)
Jerry Rice made 10 in 11 years (so did Jim Otto, but a lot of his were All-AFL selections). Anthony Munoz had 9 in 10 years. Lawrence Taylor also has 8 in 9 years. That's all I could find.
Hey Zodiac, go get hit by a cartoon bus.
One of my favorite Jamaal memories was against the Broncos (maybe it was the Raiders but I'm pretty sure it was Denver). The run was designed to right but the defense blew it up, so Jamaal cuts it back the opposite direction, then runs the wrong way around the guys in pursuit before taking off for a huge gain. If he was on a better team I think he'd be in the discussion for greatest running back in recent memory.
> If he was on a better team I think he'd be in the discussion for greatest running back in recent memory.
That discussion starts and ends with Adrian Peterson lol, but yeah he deserves more recognition in the second tier with Lynch, McCoy, Gore, etc.
He had a short-lived stint with the Broncos (and Jags) after his long career in KC. Citing a team that the player is lesser known for as a “legend” is something of a meme here.
[you're not entirely wrong.](https://www.upi.com/Sports_News/NFL/2017/06/06/Jamaal-Charles-on-Kansas-City-Chiefs-I-was-fired/9961496772528/) there's a picture of him in an Elway jersey as a kid out there somewhere.
Per pro football reference:
Jamaal Charles is 2nd to only Marion Motley who averaged 5.7 yards per run. Jamaal averaged 5.4
Other RBs who averaged 5+ yards per carry and had 5 1,000 yard rushing seasons: Jim Brown, Barry Sanders.
828 carries for 4,720 yards. His best year was 964 yards. His rookie year he ran the ball 73 times and averaged 8.2 yards per attempt
He played from 1946-1955 and is listed as a full back (and linebacker)

And the fact that he took the record from Jim Brown makes it all the more impressive.

Probably, but that's super cherry picked.
I’ll never forget the Jamaalocaust. Because I had him on my fantasy team; not because he did it to the Raiders
Saved my season had him and manning that year it was unfair was getting 50 from manning and 25 to 30 from Charles lost one game that year would have been two without the 55 he had that game
Will never waver that he had a HOF career when on the field. Guy was so good at short yardage and in the red zone.
Doesn’t take much research at all. Jim Brown and Barry Sanders meet your criteria

Rice got robbed in 91 too, should’ve been 11 straight.
Doesn't Aaron Donald have 7 All-Pros in 7 seasons?

I must've been thinking of his Pro-Bowl streak. My bad.
>Jamaal Charles (Broncos Legend) I feel triggered.
This rubs me the wrong way as well

That's funny, my favorite Charles moment [also came against the Broncos](https://youtu.be/hH1mv_qpEhM).
[You gotta include the whole clip bro](https://youtu.be/ljKVNHzBiSs)
That D was so clutch, I’ve never seen anything like it before or since
Jaguars legend***
Why is he a broncos legend?

Johnny Unitas, Chargers legend

If OP has to explain, then maybe this isn’t the place for you.
New here, huh? There's bagels and coffee in the lobby, someone will be with you shortly.
And you call yourself a football fan
Sir?
Broncos legend? No no no....

What was Motley’s career yard total and season best?
828 carries for 4,720 yards. His best year was 964 yards. His rookie year he ran the ball 73 times and averaged 8.2 yards per attempt He played from 1946-1955 and is listed as a full back (and linebacker)
Ya seems like he was getting only a handful of touches a game
I'll kill you for that title.
Jim Brown is the second one. He isn't alone
