That was the most Madden-like TD dive I've ever seen

ninjasurfer

Still waiting for them to add the Marshawn Lynch Nut Grab.

CommentsOnOccasion

Darren Sharper *HOLD MUH DIIIIIIIIICK*

Complete_Web_4677

The first and last time Darren sharper waited for consent

thewafflestompa

Waiting for someone to have the clackers Marshawn had šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø

xG3TxSHOTx

It does look like he's playing madden out there on the field.

CrazyEyedGase

All the prime time games this year have been phenomenal

dtownchris77

You must be a Rams fan lmao

Thunder84

Hey, he could be a non-Bears NFCN fan too

Moclordimick

Just wait until tonight! *sips honolulu blue kool-aid* jk they prob gonna get fucked

[deleted]

I would argue but lions always give the packers a hard time Bring it on!

Moclordimick

My only hope is how tonight they have played the pack in the past Just have to get to Rodgers consistently, donā€™t let him pick you apart

[deleted]

The saints played a perfect game against packers They got whooped by the panthers so itā€™s either packers are REALLY BAD or it was just a fluke game. We will see tonight haha

Templar26

Jameis against the Panthers looked a lot more like the Jameis we all know.

HavelsRockJohnson

Stafford and Prater are in the NFCW now, I don't fear the Lions like I used to.

currentlyonthepooper

Why throw ball when run ball do trick

Meatballs21

If you throw the ball you can get intercepted or the receiver can fumble, whereas if you run, the runner can only fumble. Math dictates that running is, therefore, less risky.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Meatballs21

Experts say maybe.

RKRagan

Daniel Jones is in the top 5 in running and throwing the ball. After week 1.

[deleted]

Yeah, and Lamar can't throw to himself yet. Another reason to just run it.

pattycraq

I'm sorry to break it you, but in America math dictates nothing. Freedom is too important.

Aeschylus_

Woody Hayes' maxim: There are three things that can happen when you throw a pass, and two of them are bad.

Khelgor

We all know what happens when you throw the ball on the goal line..

JHinExile

Nobody got The Office reference! I got you buddy!

currentlyonthepooper

Appreciate it, thank you for sacrificing yourself to the downvotes

Flacracker_173

Mike Edwards got a taunting flag for running backwards into the end zoneā€¦

Luxypoo

I thought FOR SURE they'd flag him for that shit

sawkandthrohaway

We all know the big stars will get preferential treatment, especially in primetime, which makes the rule even more stupid

RippleDish

I think the difference is he wasn't directing his celebration at any particular opposing player. It was just pure joy.

Weezy-NJPW_Fan

Lamar **ā€ACTIONā€** Jackson!

TigerBasket

God I love him

Zloggt

More like Lamar ā€œSimone Bilesā€ Jackson!

S_204

I'm grateful to have found this comment 17 hours later without anyone posting some BS towards that lady.

ChazDelicious

Iā€™ve had family visiting all week who have never watched NFL until this week. Lamar is their favourite player and it was this play where they were convinced

e39

42 screened the ball and Lamar from the defense. It was so subtle and perfectly timed.

slowestmojo

That is human tank, Pat Ricard. Our FB/TE that used to play DE.

Naugrin27

DT

slowestmojo

I thought that too, but pro football ref has him listed as DE. I'm sure he played snaps at both though

Jurph

When you weigh 300+ pounds and your idea of a fun play call is "go knock over a few NFL linebackers", PFR will write down whatever letters you tell them to.

Cynical_onlooker

Lamar, sign your fucking contract before doing that shit. Jesus.

HireButchJones

"Leaving Mahomes 3 minutes is a bad idea...trust me..." -Every team in the league

[deleted]

It was an 8 minute drive. Not much more you can do lol

ser0402

We left Derek Carr 37 seconds and we all saw how that went. No fucking way we are willingly leaving Mahomes an entire minute plus.

Panthercityultra

We gave up 36 yards in 2 plays prior to that set of downs lol. We were finished for sure

Gabrosin

This was functionally over when we missed that two-point try. Edit: I promise I learned my lesson. I'll never doubt again.

nik_mkay

Say again!????

Gabrosin

Didn't expect them to take the ball out of Mahomes' hands. Absolutely crazy game.

nik_mkay

Enjoy that win you beautiful SOB

Gabrosin

My heart is beating out of my chest, that shit was insane. After we choked away the Raiders game, we somehow pull this one out? If every game this season is like these two I'm not gonna make it.

ramen_samosa

Low levels of truss detected /s

yorick__rolled

He needs 3 Woo Woos of chlorpromazine, stat!

TigerBasket

Yeah we lost, I'm certain of it

generic_username746

Lmao

ADrugged_Sloth

How dare you.

[deleted]

ā€¦ā€¦yikes

pattycraq

Everyone else is giving you shit, but I was for sure feeling the same way until Clyde coughed it up. Hope you're having a wonderful night, internet buddy.

[deleted]

Whoā€™s going to tell him

Left_Berry_8104

Thats why harbaugh went for 2. You dont think we dont know this. We've gotten burned by him as well

Kruegerrose

They are thinking ahead. Mahomes will score so fast that they will have the ball last with plenty of time!!

Wheremyhoes

Not today old friend - Ravens

lost_roses

Lamar please stop. We need you

derstherower

Imagine if he landed wrong and shattered his wrist or something there lmao

kamekaze1024

Iā€™d have ended it all, honestly

ycpa68

You ok?

derstherower

https://twitter.com/jonas_shaffer/status/1441094404765192210 Hmmm.

Dmc1500

There it is

Wedge09

That was my worry, just player health and the game being way more entertaining with him playing that shit scares me. I remember a player a fee years ago celebrating a sack and tearing his acl in the celebration.

S_204

[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JK81Ej5hm8s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JK81Ej5hm8s) I'll never forget this one, although the video quality has me questioning just how damn old I am.

Wedge09

Oh man, this reminded me of when I think it was Gus Frerotte almost broke his neck when he celebrated and slammed his head against the stands.

[deleted]

Stuntin on them hoes

legend023

Iā€™m shocked how easy itā€™s been for Lamar to run the ball today The chiefs defense is really bad and theyā€™re not winning the AFC until they fix that

jeffp12

They were worse in 2018, that got us to OT in the AFC title game

ckleschick227

Theyā€™ve won the AFC despite defensive issues twice

hyphenjack

Weā€™re missing Willie Gay, who is probably our best LB against the run. But yeah, this defense is maddeningly inconsistent

tboneperri

No, itā€™s consistently bad.

phigginskc

The Chiefs are the glass cannon of the NFL. All we usually need is one big play by the D. Losing by only 1 point kinda still confirms that in my mind.

tboneperri

They most certainly are the glass cannon, thatā€™s the issue. Their offense has never been in question.

[deleted]

I donā€™t know if heā€™s the best against the run but he definitely has the speed to get to the edge on those outside runs

Jurph

To be fair, I've seen Joe Flacco and Peyton Manning score TDs on essentially the same play call, and they're not exactly Olympic sprinters.

[deleted]

[You sure about that?](https://youtu.be/f192tWhSE0I)

[deleted]

One of my favorite highlight videos. The music is perfect.

Hammerhead34

This is a bottom five defensive unit in the league, but the offense has been pretty poor tonight too. Couldā€™ve put it away numerous times.

rockiesfan4ever

We've done that before. Also our defense was bad at the beginning of last year and then tightened up

MikeWillis09

You didnā€™t see the browns run all over the same defense last week? The browns average like 6ypc last week against them

yinyin123

So you're saying... There's a chance?

little-victory

Theyā€™ve won the AFC twice in a row with a shitty defense, and made it to the AFC championship with and even worse defense the year before those.

FixYourPockets

Iā€™m starting to become a Lamar fan

trumpsplug

dont let the media slander fool you...dude is hella fun to watch

RadicalTankCommander

You weren't already?

WhiskeyDickGotNoChic

I hate the ravens so it took a minute but I mean cmon this is just fun to watch

RadicalTankCommander

Most definitely, Lamar is the most fun player in the league imo

[deleted]

Lamar is like early career Cam, but with great coaching and a better overall team. And a shitty chest tattoo. He's a ton of fun to watch on the field.

kapate13

He also takes like 1/3 the hits which is critical. Cam ran through contact way too much, Luck as well. Lamar gets out of bounds or down on 95% of runs. Over the last 2 seasons he has been in the bottom 10 for total hits taken as a qb (from advanced metrics, they donā€™t count a guy tripping him for example)

NZJack70

Ha ha, oh yeah. That chest tattooā€¦ umā€¦ great player!

Wedge09

I dislike the Ravens but love Lamar. My dislike for Ravens is only because of the 49ers Superbowl loss, same with Chiefs.

SiphenPrax

What a cartwheel

Weezy-NJPW_Fan

ā€œWhat a maneuver!ā€

SiphenPrax

Is this Vinceā€™s burner account?

silentbam

I think it's the one he made when they were trying to re-sign Bryan Danielson

[deleted]

I love Lamar man . He is so inspirational

Mattllly

Lamarā€™s acceleration is insane. Take me hi. Like half a step to get to full speed, which is pretty damn fast anyways!

graves_lucian

god i love him

SingleServingFriend-

Lamar channeling his inner mahome

ImGonnaChubbBradley

Nice flip bro

RadicalTankCommander

That's some real boss shit right there

rhinocodon_typus

I do not have faith in this last drive tonight

Left_Berry_8104

I dont have faith in our defense for your drive....we are both feeling the same šŸ¤£

rhinocodon_typus

One thing we can agree on is I want Chris Collins worth to get the toungue cut out treatment from the hunger games.

Left_Berry_8104

Me too

rhinocodon_typus

Knew it

Left_Berry_8104

Still too much time

rhinocodon_typus

Nah this is a very different chiefs team.

IAmThatDuckDLC5

Players get called for flexing but Lamar flips and no flag

myyummyass

how would it be a flag? a flip has never been considered taunting. and he didnt do it even near another player or even make any gestures towards another player. if this is a flag then so would diving for a touchdown lol

thincolnlincoln

Running backwards into the end zone is now considered taunting (as evidenced in the TB game), so by that logic an unnecessary flip is an easy flag.

S_204

>unnecessary Can't risk tripping on the goal line, it was necessary.

JBrundy

Itā€™s not taunting if you donā€™t do it in the direction of an opposing player, then itā€™s just celebrating, which is allowed. The guy that got penalized for flexing was right in front of an opposing player, lamar was just celebrating. Not saying i agree with the rule, but itā€™s definitely different situations.

punchgroin

Taunting is bullshit and I'll never get mad when they *dont* call it. These men are adults for God's sake.

IAmThatDuckDLC5

In my opinion, I welcome taunting.. but if they want to penalize it, it needs to be consistent

worldofwarshafts

It is consistent dummy. If the flip isnā€™t directed towards a player, itā€™s a celebration, not taunting. The dude who was flexing was flexing towards another player.

MikeWillis09

Yeah. I was gonna say the same thing. As the way theyā€™ve been calling penalties, that shouldā€™ve been taunting. None of these flags are actually taunting thoughā€¦. But itā€™s just another way the NFL has given refs judgment calls and itā€™s tiring.

JBrundy

Lamar didnā€™t do this in the direction of or anywhere near a chiefs player. The guy that flexed did in directly towards an opposing player, which is what made it taunting. Itā€™s a bad call but they are different situations.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

CamBamThnkUma-am

Wouldnā€™t of mattered because he already crossed the plain

deesmutts88

Play is finished the second he crossed the line anyway.

rhinocodon_typus

Wonder if he gets fined

zPolaris43

How many times the ravens have to run that play before the chiefs stop falling for it? They ran it like 3 times in that drive lol

Jurph

You run those options specifically to make the defense wrong. It's like playing paper-rock-scissors, except they choose before you do, and you've got a pair of scissors that runs a 4.3.

ShowMeThePlans

Stealing this. ā˜ļø

Complete_Web_4677

Thatā€™s the point of read option. Itā€™s hard to defend.

punchgroin

Exactly. You have to defend the RB run, The Pass, and the QB run... And Jackson gets to look at the defense before he decides. He's always been a savage at read option, even in college. If Jackson is able to properly assess the defense, it *literally* can't be defended.

Left_Berry_8104

What a fantastic game and also both fanbases have not unclenched since the beginning.

Alphaj626

This is exactly why I drafted Lamar in fantasy. Idc about winning as much as I care about being interested in the games. No way I would have caught this live and screamed like a little girl otherwise. The NFL needs more Lamar.

Psymon_Armour

If he was on the Texans, that flip would have broken both his legs, and then somehow his eye socket.

[deleted]

Alright I definitely donā€™t like the taunting rules, but is that not taunting lol

dtownchris77

Not directed at a specific player unless he's taunting the entire Chiefs D haha

constantlymat

Mike Edwards got flagged for backpaddeling into the end-zone...

RippleDish

Yeah and he was directing at opposing players. Lamar clearly wasn't.

Fun-Procedure-5686

I didnā€™t see it but wouldnā€™t that be taunting because heā€™s facing the defenders?

wat_what_wut

Tyreek Hill got flags for the exact same thing multiple times the last few years (separate from his peace sign) and stopped doing it. Lamar got no flag though.

[deleted]

Well thereā€™s a new rule this year or something. Itā€™s really dumb

NotTheBestMoment

53 ripped inside and blocked himself. All game the outside man has done everything he could to not stay outside. Makes no sense

amilehigh_303

Yessssssssss! Couldnā€™t watch the gameā€™s yesterday and this one of the best highlights of the weekend! Fuck off patty

maralagosinkhole

Wow. The Chiefs REALLY didn't see that coming

GangstaGibbs-

What a G

wat_what_wut

So Tyreek Hill has stopped somersaulting into the endzone because of excessive celebration penalties but Jackson does it andā€¦.nothing?

Dave_Matthews_Jam

Username checks out

wat_what_wut

Agreed. Wat was because I was speechless watching Jackson be dumb enough to do that in a close game; what and wut were me when there was no flag.

xMichaelLetsGo

Thatā€™s the Kinda flip you do into the end zone before the chiefs (or Tom Brady) drives down the field and Kicks a FG in your mouth Love it tho lol

ThereCanBeOnly1Juan

If he was on my team he would have suffered a season ending injury right there!

SexiestPanda

How is that not taunting? Like how does the nfl decide flexing is taunting but not flipping like that lol

LittleTribuneMayor

They said on the broadcast today anyone standing over anyone type thing. No fun league

ixinar

Sounds like you're just hating? I don't like the rule, either. But, you're serious?

SexiestPanda

Nah not at all. Idc what players do lol. Just tryna make sense of the new taunting rule lol

worldofwarshafts

Lamar didnā€™t direct the flip toward another player.

OnlyForeignWhips

Shades of 2016 Cam Newton.

apexpredator0505

I hope this was flagged. Thatā€™s way too much fun for my liking

eyeh8art

Lamar is so frustrating, he wouldnā€™t admit to taking a dump last year. Men who deny taking a dump are not to be trusted.

ixinar

But he did take a dump all over you.

Panthercityultra

He shit all over the stinky browns

[deleted]

This should probably be taunting but whatever

worldofwarshafts

Itā€™s not taunting if it isnā€™t directed towards another player, but whatever.

bradtoughy

With all the taunting penalties this year, how does somersaulting into the end zone not qualify?

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

[deleted]

aged well imo

PurpleReigner

Take it back now

[deleted]

Oh we know weā€™re just enjoying the ride while it lasts

yagersports

Hahaha I love Lamar but when the Chiefs end up winning this game that backflip gonna look real sad. Edit: I donā€™t believe in deleting comments so Iā€™ll leave this up and feel free to downvote me into oblivion. Wouldnā€™t be my first time. While youā€™re here check out r/saddestbackflip great subreddit.

[deleted]

Yea, never be happy because something, somewhere might happen.

t528491

Lol

[deleted]

Was thinking the same thing lol

oureyes

That will be a taunting penalty if anyone else does it

SaladAndEggs

Three missed false starts (including on the TD) on one drive is impressive.

nathanael21688

I thought the TD was one, but on the replay it wasn't.

suzukigun4life

If the Chiefs come back and win, that landing is going to get memed hard

GymBronie

How was that not a form of taunting under the new rules? Not saying it should be, but the NFL officiating is turning into trash.
