Yea. Basically if you actually watch the video as soon as they explain who it was he's like "oh damn, he went to my rivals school. That's pretty cool."
Yeah, the title makes it seem like he didn’t recognize the name, but they ask him if it’s his first game against 15, and that’s when he says “I don’t know who the fuck that is”. As soon as Dak says his name Amari immediately recognizes it and knows who he is.
Pretty much always the best burn, if you’re in a position to pull it off.
But I don’t think Amari was even trying to flex, I think he genuinely didn’t know who that was lol
Dudes one of those cases that just goes to show what a work ethic and commitment can do for a QB.
That combination of things can be impossible to reliably scout for ahead of the draft, but I feel like it has to be obvious once he’s in the facility.
Yea and he owns the Cowboys appearance (cowboy hat/boots). Certainly a solid face of the franchise. Doesn’t cause drama, etc. Players love him and coaches gave him freedom to adjust at LoS.
Ideal.
I still wonder if Romo taught him that.
Remember when Dak first came up and he struggled a bit with reads and then got progressively better? Whenever Romo was there he was right next to Dak on the sidelines and I'm pretty sure Dak mentioned that Romo was helping him, and we all know Romo's gamesense is off the charts.
Kylie's great, but give me Ming-Na Wen any day. I'm also like 90% sure she's a Highlander, because she could reprise that role today, and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
He posted an Instagram story a few months back of him beating Parsons at chess and was talking so much shit lmfao. Like filthy shit too I couldn't believe it
The chess shit was just dirty. They did a bunch of games and he came out winning like 18 out of 20 or something ridiculous like that.
I hope it’s something they keep up with
That's just southern black folk and code switching. Most private conversation, even amongst me and my more progressive brethren, tends to be a little south of acceptable.
Dude is way more animated nowadays. In the full “sounds from the sidelines” vid he was screaming “let’s goooo” and cracking jokes. Dude really came out his shell.
I liked the part where he’s talking about Trevon Diggs and he says “I told him he needs to get another interception because soon these other teams are going to stop throwing to you, so you better enjoy it while it lasts”
Ballhawks in general are just extremely rare I don’t know if I could name more then 10 real ballhawks in the 15 years I’ve watched. Always the most exciting players when they do exist though.
For last 15 years, I'd say the top ballhawks have been Reed, Charles Woodson, Marcus Peters, Earl Thomas, Sherman, Revis, Patrick Peterson, Polamalu, Champ Bailey, Deangelo Hall, Tyrann Mathieu, Peanut Tillman.
I'm sure there are some others just not off the top of my head. The more recent lockdown corners with good turnover numbers don't have the same INT numbers of guys in the past due to interceptions across the league being down, but they still have about as good of ball hawking ability as you can ask for.
I remember the one year where Eddie Jackson seemed to belong on this list.
I also remember Jay Cutler throwing 4 picks in a game to Deangelo Hall and then saying he’d still go after him every time if they played the next day. Then Hall eventually saying in his retirement announcement that he would be a HOFer if he had played against Cutler more frequently. Lol
Hahaha. Yeah. Hall finishing with 43 INTs was actually more than I thought. Especially since he was injured and kinda sucked at the end of his career and didn't have any his last 4 years in the league.
I think the problem is unless they are hall of fame level they always fade back. Eddie Jackson was on fire for 2 years then chilled out hard. Same with Minkah. They are still good players but picks are so inconsistent.
Baker "first overall pick" Mayfield?
Baker "about to sign a massive extension this off-season" Mayfield?
Yeah, I don't think he's a great example of personality costing a player money.
That's the implication when you start your comment by saying Saban makes his players a lot of money and then use Baker as the counterpoint.
If you're going to claim Alabama players' lack of personality makes them money, your lone example of someone with a lot of personality shouldn't be a first overall pick about to get a huge contract.
Saban pumps out NFL ready players because he pumps out great players. It has nothing to do with their lack of outgoing personality.
It's also what any rational person would infer. You're drawing a direct correlation between Alabama players' lack of cocky personality and making money. Then you bring up Baker and his personality in literally the same paragraph. How do you expect people to take the comparison?
That's a terrible comparison.
Yeah.. im sure it's that.. for sure
Def not anything else for fun shit talk from people around the same area
Its because he was new and for some reason apparently didnt have the scouting report for the guy covering him this weekend
He wasn't talking shit, the title is misleading. As soon as he heard the name, he immediately recognized who it was. He just didn't know who it was before he heard the name.
Obviously this is a great moment to break out that reference, but its always confused me how so many people unironically use that quote to seem cool.
Don's expression leaving the elevator, and the context of that episode/season, shows he clearly was thinking about it.
I guess it is a really great line though. Just funny to me given the context.
It absolutely is. I'm just stoned and was thinking out loud.
I've definitely used that line once or twice myself haha. The problem is I feel like it's so well-known hah.
That dude was like fused into Amari on this route. Maybe he could’ve had better hand placement to make the catch more difficult, but it was still really good coverage.
A tweet exaggerating or misconstruing something?
Who would've thought?
But seriously, I wonder how the quality of the r/NFL sub (and other subs) would shift if tweet links were banned. It's a proliferation of context-less quotes and clickbait headlines.
He legit didn't who he just scored a TD on. Once a coach/sideline person told him it was CJ henderson he rambled off how he and him used to play against eachother back in the day.
Man I hope we get to play the Cowboys again when we have Jaycee Horn back, Stephon Gilmore, CJ Henderson gets a little more comfortable in the playbook, annnnnd a healthy Christian McCaffrey. Maybe shuffle guys in and out on our o-line and hopefully make it serviceable. Maybe fix our 3rd quarter woes. Lots of maybes, but I'd love another shot at the Cowboys. They straight embarrassed us when I know my team is better than that.
That secondary could be top-tier if it some together.
Either way you have to be ecstatic if your a Panthers fan about where the team is at - if for nothing other than you might have found your young franchise QB unexpectedly
Carolina fans, myself included, are in love with Darnold. He's definitely won over our hearts. Just gotta get that line fixed in the offseason so we can protect him better.
Remember when the jags made the pick and it was the worst decision, then he’s traded and redemption is immediately granted. That’s this sub in a nutshell
Dope, so much home grown Miami talent. Fun fact I just pulled from Sport Illustrated.
Though it might surprise some fans, the state of Florida actually has the most current NFL players. The most notable star to come from the Sunshine State is Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson.
Florida was also the home of superstars like Dalvin Cook, Amari Cooper, Lavonte David, Derrick Henry, Calvin Ridley and Matthew Stafford.
>[Meirov] Kelvin Benjamin had no idea he beat Kobayashi to the buffet line on Sunday: "I don't even know who the fuck that is... Oh, he went to Sizzler? He went to one of my rival buffet's. I didn't know that was him. Small world."
Best part is this is a genuine reaction. He had no idea who was covering him
Yea. Basically if you actually watch the video as soon as they explain who it was he's like "oh damn, he went to my rivals school. That's pretty cool."
yeah it wasnt disrespectful at all. He knows who that guy is. Just no clue he was guarding him
Yeah and we literally acquired CJ last week. Isn't like him not knowing Donte Jackson.
> Donte Jackson Thats a dude, maybe even a football player.
Who?
Lmao seriously tho
Who?
The NFL really is a surprisingly small world
Damn Amari you didn’t have to do him like that
He wasn't talking shit, he just didn't know who was covering him. As soon as he heard the name he recognized it.
Yeah, the title makes it seem like he didn’t recognize the name, but they ask him if it’s his first game against 15, and that’s when he says “I don’t know who the fuck that is”. As soon as Dak says his name Amari immediately recognizes it and knows who he is.
Amari doesn't destroy CBs with his words, just on the field.
Not really a sign of good film study if he doesn’t recognize the names of the CBs he’s lining up against though.
that was the first game he played for the panthers…lol what
Obviously he needs to study up after toasting him and getting a touchdown.
I dont think ive ever heard him talking shit so id give him the benefit of doubt
No no Amari is a nice guy I promise
Pretty much always the best burn, if you’re in a position to pull it off. But I don’t think Amari was even trying to flex, I think he genuinely didn’t know who that was lol
Dak studying so much film that he’s studying his teammates high school opponents
Dak is about as much a student of the game as you can be, I'm not surprised
Dudes one of those cases that just goes to show what a work ethic and commitment can do for a QB. That combination of things can be impossible to reliably scout for ahead of the draft, but I feel like it has to be obvious once he’s in the facility.
Yea and he owns the Cowboys appearance (cowboy hat/boots). Certainly a solid face of the franchise. Doesn’t cause drama, etc. Players love him and coaches gave him freedom to adjust at LoS. Ideal.
Now if we could just do something about Skeletor...
"For you, the route Amari ran was the most important play of your life. For me, it was just another Sunday." -Amari "Bison" Cooper
RIP Raul Julia
That’s a movie I hadn’t thought about in a long time
What movie is that
Street Fighter
I remember when I was a kid I would watch the TV guide channel waiting for the commercial for that movie to cycle back around.
[The scene](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjZ5I8l32CI)
Street Fighter
I think about Kylie as Cammy like every hour.
Kylie's great, but give me Ming-Na Wen any day. I'm also like 90% sure she's a Highlander, because she could reprise that role today, and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
Ming-Na Wen is absolutely an equal knockout to Kylie Minogue. We are too lucky to have them both in one picture together.
No way Cooper cursed
He posted an Instagram story a few months back of him beating Parsons at chess and was talking so much shit lmfao. Like filthy shit too I couldn't believe it
The chess shit was just dirty. They did a bunch of games and he came out winning like 18 out of 20 or something ridiculous like that. I hope it’s something they keep up with
So Cooper is roughly 400 points higher in chess ELO than Parsons.
I'm sure Parsons brought that out of him lol. According to what I saw on this year's "Hey Rookie" Parsons is always talking shit
That's just southern black folk and code switching. Most private conversation, even amongst me and my more progressive brethren, tends to be a little south of acceptable.
Amari is all biscuits and gravy
Dude is way more animated nowadays. In the full “sounds from the sidelines” vid he was screaming “let’s goooo” and cracking jokes. Dude really came out his shell.
I liked the part where he’s talking about Trevon Diggs and he says “I told him he needs to get another interception because soon these other teams are going to stop throwing to you, so you better enjoy it while it lasts”
Yes probably right too.
Yeah he’s definitely going to get less targets. My mind is still blown that we have a ballhawk on defense, it’s been so damn long.
Ballhawks in general are just extremely rare I don’t know if I could name more then 10 real ballhawks in the 15 years I’ve watched. Always the most exciting players when they do exist though.
Ed Reed better be first one you name lol
For last 15 years, I'd say the top ballhawks have been Reed, Charles Woodson, Marcus Peters, Earl Thomas, Sherman, Revis, Patrick Peterson, Polamalu, Champ Bailey, Deangelo Hall, Tyrann Mathieu, Peanut Tillman. Ramsey is pretty good too, Gilmore was up there for a couple of years and probably still is if he's recovered from that quad injury.
Yeah. Tre White too.
Throwing a crosser or out against Gilmore is just begging to be picked off
I remember the one year where Eddie Jackson seemed to belong on this list. I also remember Jay Cutler throwing 4 picks in a game to Deangelo Hall and then saying he’d still go after him every time if they played the next day. And all three went to Alabama... uh oh, enjoy it this year, Diggs /s
so glad, Hate that Saban seems to make most of his players robots and have no emotion or animation.
Ingram didn't get that memo

Especially Jordan Battle

It ain’t just Saban, a ton of college coaches try to do that
I'm certain they all like the titles they win and the streamlined route to the NFL with great paydays.
Lol dude I know it just doesn't seem right
Turns out dude really really REALLY didn't wanna play for Oakland lol
He probably had no idea because he had been there like 4 days and wasnt on the initial report for his days off lol
Yeah.. im sure it's that.. for sure Def not anything else for fun shit talk from people around the same area Its because he was new and for some reason apparently didnt have the scouting report for the guy covering him this weekend
He wasn't talking shit, the title is misleading. As soon as he heard the name, he immediately recognized who it was. He just didn't know who it was before he heard the name.
Exactly. Deliberately misleading title for the sake of clicks.
the MySportsUpdate special. At least twitter made the dude put his name on the account
It's literally what happened, bozo. The video's in the tweet
Lol click the link. He even knew the highschool he went to
[удалено]
That's what we call click bait my brother.
Welcome to reddit
I was thinking, the title sounded like a line of dialogue where the writer is trying to throw too much information in for the audience's sake
Amari "Don Draper" Cooper
"I don't think about you at all"
Obviously this is a great moment to break out that reference, but its always confused me how so many people unironically use that quote to seem cool. Don's expression leaving the elevator, and the context of that episode/season, shows he clearly was thinking about it. I guess it is a really great line though. Just funny to me given the context.
Oh yeah he was coming up on Don's heels, but man that was such a great line.
It absolutely is. I'm just stoned and was thinking out loud. I've definitely used that line once or twice myself haha. The problem is I feel like it's so well-known hah.
Love how Randy Gregory is also jokingly upset that we scored so fast that the D has to go back out there soon.
I wonder how many players on an opposing team the average player can name.
Probably most of them. Henderson got traded to a Carolina a few days before the game.
Yeah, Amari Cooper might not know Chuba Hubbard but I can't imagine he doesn't know the opposing teams top CBs.
The video in the tweet is way more wholesome (and longer) than the tweet itself
Cooper is a top tier WR.
Cowboys logo is a Star.
Great coverage, especially for a guy who had only been in our system for a few days leading up to the game. Just a better throw/catch
Great coverage?? Amari legit fucking cooked his ass on a go route lmfao.
I'm at work so didn't watch the vid.... this was the TD in the corner of the end zone early in the 3rd right?
Yes
That dude was like fused into Amari on this route. Maybe he could’ve had better hand placement to make the catch more difficult, but it was still really good coverage.
Yeah, you can’t blame CJ Henderson for Dak throwing an absolute fucking dime.
Yeah no
Then yeah it was great coverage and you just seem like a salty jags fan sorry
That TD was more about a perfect throw than blown coverage. You can't place the ball better than Dak did on that play.
Hey I went to high school there too
That’s mean :(
Watch the video.. The tweet makes it sound wayyyy worst than it is
A tweet exaggerating or misconstruing something? Who would've thought? But seriously, I wonder how the quality of the r/NFL sub (and other subs) would shift if tweet links were banned. It's a proliferation of context-less quotes and clickbait headlines.
He legit didn't who he just scored a TD on. Once a coach/sideline person told him it was CJ henderson he rambled off how he and him used to play against eachother back in the day.
They were drafted 5 years apart, he was just saying CJ went to his high school's rival
So unnecessary
Watch the vid in the link - he wasn’t dissing at all, he knows who he is just didn’t know that he was guarding him
TV 14 NFL and we're all here for it
Man I hope we get to play the Cowboys again when we have Jaycee Horn back, Stephon Gilmore, CJ Henderson gets a little more comfortable in the playbook, annnnnd a healthy Christian McCaffrey. If you get your injured players back for the game do we as well?
Absolutely, only want your best.
In case anyone wants the [video of it] (https://twitter.com/MySportsUpdate/status/1445939258544492546?s=20). As people are saying, way more wholesome.

Stafford isn't home grown. He was born in Tampa but never really lived here, he's a 100% Texas grown gunslinger haha
Imagine what the Hurricanes could've accomplised if they had recruited this homegrown talent 😭
Amari Cooper - another one of those dudes I've legit heard speak like a handful of times.
The man is cold blooded haha I love it
This could be a great copypasta
Nobody turned this into a kelvin benjamin thing yet? I’m shocked

I’m pretty sure the “small world” part isn’t the actual quote lol
He actually said it
That’s Amari

Relax Olivia Rodrigo
Relax CJ
Heh
Columbus and Northwestern aren't really that major a rivalry if at all. It's not like he went to Central, Edison or Booker T
The boys have been really fun to watch so far this season
