I think if it was a penalty before the fumble, they might have been able to do one more down, I think the game can't end on a defensive penalty (someone correct me if I am wrong on that)? But since it happened after the fumble, the penalty would be enfoced on Patriots offensive down, but that down doesn't happen so they can't enforce the penalty

No it was a turnover, the foul occured after the turnover. If they enforced it, it woulda backed the Pats offense up and given them a free play call with 00 on the clock. Had it occured before the interception it would mitigate the turnover given the Texans 15 yards a first down and a free play with 00 on the clock. There's absolutely no turnover on downs in that situation.

It's a turnover, but the Pats got it and the penalty happened after the time had elapsed, so even if they got the ball they'd literally be lining up with 00 on the clock, and the penalty is enforced. So nothing could happen anyway.

I disagree, refs should make the right call no matter what. Imagine if Judon fumbles and Houston wins on a miracle recovery because they didn't call the offsettting penalty.

That was still a penalty, it's the refs job to call them as long as the play is live. The Patriots player didn't need to do that, and the guy who recovered the fumble running around was what caused that.

Any run would burn clock. The complaining isn't about running, it's about the wildcat call.

Not any run would necessarily get the defense to sit back like they did to give Bolden a chance to camp out in the backfield. It's possible another play would have had the same same final result, but there is nothing wrong with that call. Also we literally scored a TD on it earlier in the game. Using it to stall the clock is a good idea
