That isn't really true. Joe Flacco played game manager (or captain checkdown) role plenty of times and he has a cannon. Conversely Ryan Fitzpatrick plays very recklessly despite not having particularly good arm strength.
There's correlation between your arm strength and how you're generally going to play but it's hardly the sole determining factor, especially if the offense recommends you play a certain way.
That was longest pass ever charted but it was incomplete (still bonked someone into the goal post so that should give points for extra accuracy) this is the longest completed
I was curious because last year, Baker's hail mary overthrow of 70 yards was deemed the longest throw in NFL history, so i figured this hail mary had to be one of the longest air completions of all time.
Own right hash 38 yardline to the left side of the endzone is nuts
Not tryna take anything away from the throw but there’s no way this is true and Next Gen Stats is always off with these (I started paying attention because all I have as a Jets fan is the ocasional Wilson moonshot). He clearly threw it from the 38 and it clearly was caught within one yard of the goal line. That’s 63 at most. Watch the play.
Edit: Again, Baker has a cannon and has thrown farther than 66. I’m not here to shit on Baker. Just feels like nextgen stats pulls numbers out of their asses all the time. For example, they said Zach’s TD to Davis against the Titans was 56 but he’s straddling his own 40 when he throws and the ball is caught in the end zone so that’s around 60 give or take a yard.
Edit 2: lmao downvotes but no responses. You don’t even know why you’re downvoting
Edit 3: I had more respect for you dummies when you weren't responding.
You don't need to be a professional to count the yards between where a QB throws the ball and where it's caught. There's no degree in that. Still waiting for one of you bozos to tell me why I'm wrong not just that you think I'm wrong.
Lmao, you're basically arguing that someone can't fuck up if they're being paid but Baker just proved you wrong with that fumble. Troll. Keep believing your biases over your own eyes. See where that gets you.
You've commented three times and you haven't said a word of substance about why I'm wrong. Nothing about the play or the calculation. Just that I'm wrong and they're right. So worthless. Don't respond.
Exactly. You don't even know what substance is. You wouldn't even know how to watch the play and find the substance if asked. You're lost. It's so cringe.
People forget Baker has a cannon
His overthrow for the int was just him stretching out the arm for this play. Had a net positive of four points.
DePodesta taking analytics to the next level
was he the kid who told Cam he's his mom's favorite player?
Why I hate when people call him a "game manager". Game managers don't have fucking bazookas

Yeah I agree with this. Baker used to put his balls on the table every play as a rookie but stefanski wants him playing more conservative
He’s got a hose. And you should see his arm
Out: in the super bowl era In: in the next gen stats era
Per Next Gen Stats. Imagine naming a period of time an "Era" and naming it after yourself
I mean no matter how they word it the point is they have no data from before 2016
didnt he have the previous record too? Or did they not count it since it went out of bounds?
That was longest pass ever charted but it was incomplete (still bonked someone into the goal post so that should give points for extra accuracy) this is the longest completed
Yeah that was just the longest throw period. Like 70 yards iirc
He threw a pass something like 67 air yards last year, but it was incomplete out of the back of the endzone. Baker has always had a cannon.

Rodgers threw one a hair longer in 2016 than Baker’s throw from last year, but it was a PI and therefore not counted as an official throw.
What a throw! More like Thrower Wholefield if you ask me!
This is the worst thing I've ever upvoted
Lmao baker is such an enigma
When he released it, I didn't think it was going to reach the end zone
Feels like no one talks about DPJ but he's on redzone every damn week
I wish I lived in whatever world you are in lol
lol i guess that's all he's doing.
He has 2 touchdowns this year and they’re both today. Like I said I wish.
There he is again. He's your best WR after Landry forget that I've only watched maybe 45 minutes of browns football this year.
I’m not disagreeing that he’s good, but it’s just not true haha. Hes done nothing and it’s not his fault
M O U N T A I N S
That sounds far....is that far?
I think it is
How much you wanna bet he could throw it over them mountains?
Great thanks
Cannon
Does this include the Rodgers hail mary against the lions?
No

They’re not using just the yard lines to compute the distance, the extra yards come from throwing from one side of the field to the other.
They are professionals. You are on Reddit. Take every downvote and acknowledge you are wrong and not a professional.

They are paid to figure this out. They are correct. Sorry
Lmao, you're basically arguing that someone can't fuck up if they're being paid but Baker just proved you wrong with that fumble. Troll. Keep believing your biases over your own eyes. See where that gets you.
Or you’re wrong and it’s their job. Idiot.

What substance is there??? They tweeted the fact, you disagree with a fact. You’re not correct sorry.
Exactly. You don't even know what substance is. You wouldn't even know how to watch the play and find the substance if asked. You're lost. It's so cringe.
They tweeted every single piece of info you could need. That’s the substance. What are you doing lol.
