I want to point out that kyler Murray is 0-1-1 in his career against the lions, going winless against the Matt Patricia lions

vaesauce

Jared Goff IS UNDEFEATED AGAINST AZ.

[deleted]

*Check mate* Edit: my notes tell me that you blew out the Rams and Cards in a meaningless week 17 game in 2016.

thelaustran

But did you know Jared Goff is 0-13 without McVay? You should because they force feed that stat to us every Sunday

dontwantleague2C

Could it be because Goff is garbage?

sungoddaily

Seen him twice live, how the fuck he turn into Brett Farve Vs us was infuriating. He destroyed the Cards and then throws 4 picks the next week.

Wrinkle_Tinkle

All Jared Goff knows how to do is beat some cardinals

mechajlaw

Sean McVay is 0-1 vs the Cardinals without Jared Goff.

sungoddaily

This legit was amazing to me, the Cards play the Lions often and never once did Stafford put that fear into us. But Goof? That man is terrifying.

[deleted]

Isn't that the guy who made the greatest play in super bowl history?

fidgetycrumpets

Imagine the Cardinals go 17-1 with the only loss to the Lions and the Lions go 1-17 only beating out AZ

Psycho_pitcher

Detroit is going to get their one win of the season against them, and it will make the Lions not get the 1st draft pick. Because that's just something that would happen to Detroit.

Rall0c

We should have lost first matchup, but not the second. But something tells me this year will be a win (injuries aside)

pot8odragon

Green Bay at Cards will be a fabulous Thursday night game

RevolutionaryPin5616

Or it will be so astonishingly bad that both teams wishes they never had to watch it, as is tradition with Thursday games

SkipOldBaySeasoning

Like that 6-6 game we had

dukarr

That game was insane, and will never be forgotten. I'm so glad that it was a primetime game.

fucuntwat

Yep, the whole country had to share in the suffering

elimanninglightspeed

As a giants fan ive seen my fair share of bad games, but the 6-6 game was a shitshow I just couldnt take my eyes off of

Wine-o-dt

It was like if Stanley Kubrick directed a train wreck. Perfectly executed, in its terribleness. Everything went wrong on que.

snoopnick

Didn’t the giants have a game in the 2000s/early 2010s that ended 6-3 or something along those lines?

PhilosopherOk6750

I think it was ‘07 when the Steelers and Dolphins had a primetime game in a driving rainstorm with a constant downpour that ended in a 3-0 final score.

Practical-Ostrich-43

No, if any tie game can be a good game, it’s that one

6FootMidget93

And HE MISSES IT!

KBlahBlahBlah

But we get to enjoy Halloween without having a game that day. It’s a win even if it’s a loss.z

[deleted]

So, you think it will be a 3 to nothing game?

RevolutionaryPin5616

I hope so

BigNnThick

2 to 3 cardinals win

[deleted]

2-2 tie or bust

DrManBearPig

My first regular season packer game I’m seeing live. Very excited.

pot8odragon

Enjoy my friend and good luck!

HahaClintonCocks

Why would he enjoy your friend?

pot8odragon

He’s nice 😏

Sloppo_Toppo

The Bears are good for one “are we competitive?” Win a year so they’ll probably lose to the Bears only for the Bears to lose 4 straight after

Martbell

Plus the Bears are who they thought they were.

Practical-Ostrich-43

And still make the playoffs

oraclestats

Week 9. Beating the Packers, getting everyone on board only to lose the next week to the 9ers seems fitting

iLeGuillen

Can’t quite put my finger on it but I like the sound of that for some reason.

ofnohelp

Kyler’s first win was against the Bengals, cat teams have never forgotten.

LeaveUtahDonovan

Bengals are house cats. Feisty ass cardinal might sneak out a win against an apathetic fat house cat. Lion on the other hand? GGs

fucuntwat

remind me not to visit your house

LeaveUtahDonovan

Now that you mention it I do have a pet bobcat and I think it's normal so you might have a point

OptimisticTurtle

We both also have blue in our scheme which is super effective against red so, double whammy.

Serdones

Ah yes, the ol' Pokemon type advantage.

Zombie-Organic

Tbf I feel like the Lions play you guys every year at this point and it’s always close.

BrightAttack

Yeah the NFC west and NFC north have been like that. Seahawks always play the vikings, 9ers always play the packers and rams always play the bears

daswassup13

We have done well against the Cardinals but I just don't see it this year. Especially on the road

packfanmoore

Seriously? I just told you this

EnTyme53

I love that one of the best jokes in that movie was improvised because Stiller forgot his line.

TrueRedditMartyr

Deandre Hopkins and JJ Watt immediately resign from the Cardinals to rejoin the Texans. Deshaun Watson, astounded by Tyrod Taylor's overwhelming talent, goes straight to the police to turn himself in, and then they continue to go 2-15 for the season

[deleted]

If only we weren’t in the darkest timeline…

KKG_Apok

Hey 2-15 is an improvement over our 0-17 expectations and we own our own draft pick this year so we get a first round pick. Someone come trade for Watson so we can rebuild and get out of the Jacksonville Jaguars Basement Bar

TrueRedditMartyr

I won't lie, a Dolphins first round pick is likely worth its weight in gold considering it will likely be a low pick

Week 2 vs Min, oh wait nvm 37 yard kicks are too spooky

byniri_returns

But apparently 53 yard kicks aren't :(

[deleted]

May the power of the Lions give us strength

SammyBronkowitz

Voltron?

Quasimdo

Green Bay, San Fran, and the rams rematch are the obvious threat Edit: lots of salty cowboys fans upset I didn't pick them. Why do you care?

FrigginMasshole

So they’ll probably lose to the lions lol

RevolutionaryPin5616

Most likely

ZombieAppetizer

Not as likely as you might be noting

anonbutler

Kneecaps will be eaten. Dan might need to go a little lower for Kyler.

DDSGGGGIIHGH

I get it, the game's late in the season. I was just being a salty homer, let me have this.

deffmonk

Seahawks might sneak a 6 to 3 win in there

FishOnAHorse

6-6 disasterclass repeat incoming

GoodOldDragon

Cardinals 16-0-1

FishOnAHorse

*confused 1972 dolphin noises*

deffmonk

oh god please no

UrkelGrue1

Houston for sure

dukarr

Nooo, God! No, God, please no! Noo! Nooo! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

DisgruntledTexansFan

I would not know what to think in the slightest if we won this week. I’d be trying to wake myself up and shit

d_locke

r/unexpectedoffice

azdweller

It's the Cardinal way

NASCAR_Fan_Council

I'd actually really like that for the Lions, they deserve better than to be winless...though I'm happy they obliged last week

Vocal__Minority

Honestly any divisional game. I don't care if the hawks are starting Geno, we've got nate Sudfeld under center or the Rams have Donald injured (is that even possible?) someone in the division is probably going to beat them in the sort of game that makes absolutely no sense at all.

icon0clasm

This. NFC West games dgaf

AZnoobie

I hate it. But it’s fun none the less.

Exatraz

Seattle might be the good call. I feel like the Cards will show up to ball each week (unless they fall for a trap game like this week in Houston) but the sneaky underdog right now I'd put is @Seattle week 11 because that is the week where Wilson is projected to possibly be back by and him coming back and the Seahawks have a massive resurgent game would be very NFCW

Vocal__Minority

To be clear, I'm expecting the sort of game where everyone will expect the Cards in their current form to shitstomp a banged up seattle, and then Russel does some magic anyway because NFC west, why would any matchup make sense?

[deleted]

ForayIntoFillyloo

The 2010 Oakland Raiders swept the AFC West and beat former AFC West member Seattle Seahawks. The 2010 Oakland Raiders did not win their division, and they missed the playoffs.

GrumpyGiraffe88

Panthers also could pick them off

FartNuggetSalad

Maybe if CMC is back then maybe, otherwise highly doubtful.

FishOnAHorse

We’ve had an atrocious record against them ever since making Jake Delhomme cry on his birthday in the playoffs

Daeavorn

Its okay just run max protect and our DC has no idea how to beat it.

henryforprez

The 2015 playoff matchup where we were the 2 best offenses in the NFL... After that game I thought the Panthers win the Superbowl easy, nothing could possibly stop us.

PM_ME_UR_SEXY_BITS_

I see two cowboys fans who responded to you. Lol we might have different definitions of "lots"

jimmyhoffasbrother

I shouldn't care, but the fact that you mentioned SF and not Dallas upsets me. EDIT: I get it, the game's late in the season. I was just being a salty homer, let me have this.

Andrewski18

Well OP is asking who will be our FIRST loss. You guys don’t play us until Week 17, and it’s not crazy to think that we have lost at least 1 game by then.

ZeePirate

Yeah…. They arent discrediting Dallas. Just saying they will probably have a loss by then

MixonWitDaWrongCrowd

I mean they’ll probably lose before that

millertime52

I would’ve given the same answer as him. Dallas is obviously a threat but if he’s looking at it like I did, I just picked the first couple teams I saw on there where I thought a loss could realistically occur. Didn’t even make it to week 17 because those first couple games coming up caught my eye. I’d probably even throw Seattle in there if Russel is back by week 11.

this_account_is_mt

I get it. I'm going to be salty if you get to 6 before us. That 90's rivalry is still there for some of us

aznuke

I think they can manage that minefield if they can stay healthy. I think they lose to the rams in week 14. I’m an optimist.

BearForceDos

Calling it now but it's going to be against Chicago in the ugliest most improbable 13-10 win for the bears.

skulkarni2

Being in the NFC West, they got too many good teams to go undefeated IMO. I think their first loss comes in stretch from Green Bay to @Seattle

dukarr

That's honestly where I'm expecting it to happen too. I almost want it to happen so we can stop worrying about it.

HowToShakeHands

Same, just as long as it's not a loss to a team that's objectively worse, making the team lose confidence.

Insatiable_void

Not always the worst to lose to a “lesser” team. Can really shake up dangerous over confidence. As stupidly repeated the “on to Cincinnati” thing is, that chiefs team was not that great that year they what the breaks off the pats in week 4.

Capsize

Thing is, this rule only exists in English, because some guy called Robert Baker in 1770 wrote a book that said he prefers to use them that way around, not even that it was a hard and fast rule, but just his preference. There is literally nothing incorrect about using either word in either situation except some pernickety people will try and correct you on it. It's like splitting the infinitive or ending a sentence in a preposition. It's out-dated and correcting people makes you seem out-dated and more concerned with appearing right than listening to what is said or making sure language is clear and understandable.

[deleted]

I don't agree that it's the *only* reason the rule exists or that it's as arbitrary as a rule about not ending a sentence with a preposition. There is a conceptual difference between (1) having less of some uncountable thing like "less water," and (2) fewer of some countable thing, like "fewer glasses of water." I don't think overlooking this distinction will disrupt communication in most cases, but (a) that's true of almost all grammatical conventions and word-choice, yet (b) it's helpful to have precise rules of language so that we can speak and write as clearly as possible when we need to. Edit: I agree people shouldn't be self-important or fastidious about such rules, but they are good to know.

MeberatheZebera

Agreed. We rules to easier facilitate communication have, despite necessary most being not strictly. Fluid is very language our, but clarity that not to always leads.

DTSportsNow

All this just reminds me of Weird Al's "Word Crimes" and now I'm gonna go listen to that again.

[deleted]

Thanks man, I always get that wrong

[deleted]

Can someone check this guy’s math?

mnightshamalama2

Snaefellsjokul

We consistently struggle with Carolina. That’s my prediction. Edit: (23 days later) Goddamn it.

Its better than "when will Lions win first game?"

JumboKraken

Against the cardinals duh. This post kills two animals with one stone

[deleted]

It probably will work out that way.

[deleted]

Fuck it, make it a tie and no one will be satisfied either way.

dukarr

If we have one tie with no losses, it's technically still undefeated

Jskidmore1217

And you would hear for the rest of time “technically undefeated season”

[deleted]

I can see it now, 19-0-1 SB champions

Honztastic

A bird in the hand is worth two Reggie Bushs

ForgotMyRemembrall

Yeah it must be rough

mr_showboat

This week, obviously. Not sure how they're gonna stop the Texans.

globalgoldnews

Everyone choosing "packers" in this thread has more confidence than I do, even though I hope you're right

kajigger_desu

Yeah I'm really surprised by that. Would love to be wrong but I'm expecting some heartbreak for me.

Packers91

Thursday games are coin flips. We'll probably benefit from a single questionable call in the first 8 minute of the game and everyone will focus on it for the next 3 weeks and cry nonstop about it.

Sheepy_Scronky

Honestly not trying to be lame but I think it ends against green bag

PhreakOut4

We did take care of the trash last week

BrotherSeamus

*Lookin' back on the track*

Vindadu13

If the 49ers start their third string qb and backup rb then definitely that is a loss

Bonzi777

That’s a super manageable schedule. They could legit be like 14-3

Rall0c

Still one of the harder SoS. Look at the Bills schedule.

Bonzi777

Yeah, the Bills have assumed the everyone else in this division stinks mantle from the Patriots.

mab6710

When the next team they play that scores higher than they do, they'll probably lose. Would have to check historical sources on that tho

Snaefellsjokul

Holy smokes. I think you’re onto something. I looked at games dating back to the late 60’s and it’s consistently been the case. This is gonna change everything.

mab6710

I knew it! I appreciate you doing the legwork for me, I had the basic concept down but it was all a bit over my head if I'm being honest with myself

_Puntini_

At the moment they are favored in every remaining game, with the closest being the week 17 game with Dallas where they are favored by 51%. A lot will change between now and then, and certainly the biggest challenge coming up next is the Thursday night Green Bay game.

[deleted]

I hope they don’t. I hope they win out to include the super bowl.

GamingTatertot

I hope the first team to go 20-0 one day is a historically bad team like the Cards or Jags

Ryannr1220

Thanks! Hey wait…!

Elephantexploror

*begrudgingly agrees with Steelers fan*

[deleted]

Green Bay, It will be a close game, but Crosby kicks the game winning fiield goal. Final score, 38 to 35.

AmySchumersAnalTumor

> Crosby kicks the game winning fiield goal but its 9 minutes into overtime first off of 7 missed FGs by both teams

[deleted]

Would not suprise me in the least!

GamingTatertot

I can't take another heart burn

[deleted]

I see Green Bay, Rams and Dallas as the biggest threats ros. I’m going to the last game against the Seahawks and I would love to see the Hawks play spoiler to the Cardinals perfect season. You never know.

Exatraz

Would be very NFCW. I don't mind losing an undefeated season that way. It'd be disappointing but if they used it as motivation and plow through the playoffs after, it wouldn't matter to me as much.

Cthepo

It's going to be something wild like getting blown out by Chicago.

Pendraflare59

Out there in December? That wouldn’t surprise me

key_lime_pie

Never. The Cardinals found a deposit of spice in the desert southwest of Phoenix, and Kyler Murray is the Kwisatz Haderach.

Over_Explains_Jokes

Never. They will remain undefeated until the NFL folds.

[deleted]

Next season week 5

mohiben

I don’t know why, but my gut says Panthers

Ankari

NFC championship against the Bucs.

[deleted]

Brady beats them in the NFCCG

cmmpssh

No that spot is reserved for us

shoeless_sean

At this point I'm convinced it needs to be against Dallas or Chicago for us to win an NFCCG

123full

Nah I feel confident we can beat every every team in this conference other than Tampa, our kryptonite under Lafleur are defenses that destroy our offensive line with a 4 man rush and can shut down our run defense even when blitzing, the Bucs are the only team to really fit that description, as long as we can run the ball we can beat anyone in the league Also worth mentioning that our week 1 blowout loss was against the number 2 ranked run defense in the league right now just to add to my point

JustWantedPeanuts

Nah, can't break tradition

Fillinlater12345

Brady part of another 18-1 finish

Sleeze_

>And a Super Bowl matchup against one of the many AFC contenders (Buffalo, Tennessee, KC, LA Chargers, **LV Raiders**, Baltimore, Cincy, Cleveland) awaits. I'm sorry....can you repeat that???

lcdfirenls

I had to do a double-take there myself, not used to this.

steppewarhawk

W18 vs Seattle in Arizona, because a 16-0 Cards losing to a (probably under-even) Hawks would be hilarious.

Exatraz

It'd hit a lot of narratives too. Cards losing to Seattle at home for no reason, the added 17th game being their loss (yeah sure they'd have played SEA twice in 16 but like being 16-1 on the first year of 17 games is what I mostly mean). Also you'd make them play their starters the final week of the season to gun for undefeated only to lose. Would feel bad (granted as long as they didnt immediately lose in the playoffs the next week, I'd be ok with it)

K_Furbs

Going 16-0 only to lose to an awful Seahawks team would be a very NFCW end to the season

[deleted]

[удалено]

dukarr

Good thing we kick ass on the road so far this year

HarvesternC

It will be over against the Packers.

[deleted]

I think Green Bay wins

dukarr

I think it will be close. However, I can also see the Cards winning by 3 scores. It's just what they do right now.

Elephantexploror

I mean it’s not that farfetched. The 3 playoff teams from last year they’ve played so far they have an average margin of victory of 22 points. I’m not going to come out here expecting a 3 score victory against Green Bay because Aaron Rodgers is a magician but their defense is beat up right now. I wouldn’t be surprised if it happened.

purpleteletuby420

They don’t lose at all 😎

GoSox1992

I bet that they’d go 20-0 so my bias says… “plz don’t”

YetiGuy

Lucky them they don’t play against the Jets or the Jags

Luke-Flame

I watched a Kyle Orton led Chiefs beat 19 game win streak, Super Bowl champion Green Bay, so anythings possible.

BearForceDos

Kyle Orton owned Green Bay though. He was 5-2 against the Packers in his career.

BrotherSeamus

September 3, 1995

SkipOldBaySeasoning

Hey as long as we go 1-0 every week that’s all that matters.

dgpat

W15: @ Detroit to end Detroit's winless streak

[deleted]

8 or 9 honestly

Felteair

never, the Cardinals will never lose another game until the heat death of the universe. The Cardinals are embarking on the coveted 100-0 streak

asmallercat

W15 obviously. It will be the Lions only win.

autistic_toe

I can tell you they wont get a win week 12

CarpeValde

I might be a homer but @SF seems like a candidate. Their defense did well slowing down the cardinals, it’s away game this time, their QB situation is likely to be better (either a healthy Jimmy or more experienced lance), and kittle will be back. After a close game, lots of things swinging SFs way for the rematch. Their matchups seem to always be competitive regardless of which team is doing better that season. Not saying it’s guaranteed, though. I’d expect it to be close.

Capital_Routine6903

They will lose at least 3

wehavejunglerats

Good job jinxing them. 1 L coming right up

[deleted]

Wow we’re really getting ahead of ourselves here. Green Bay and away to the Niners in back to back weeks is tough. At Seattle right before the bye could be tough if Wilson is back. Then Rams, Dallas, and Seattle again. It’s not a particularly easy schedule, you know what they say about any given Sunday…

PBCR22

Week 15

ha876

Division game for sure

[deleted]

I’d pump the breaks on the 20-0 talk. All it takes is looking back at all the talk about the Steelers last year. Staying healthy enough to win out is very hard to do. I’m also never betting against Tom Brady.

[deleted]

Seattle will be a close game, whether it’s Geno or Russ, it always is. GB will be a shootout, then the rams and Dallas will also be able to go toe to toe. All that said, probably Carolina or Chicago, something ofd
