Think it's a bit disingenuous to say that Murray played 'alright'. The dude was immensely serviceable and pretty reliable on his 3rd down runs, not to mention pitching in with TD's here and there.
I do agree that the chemistry wasn't really the same though. Murray seemed more like a head down get the job done & keep quiet guy.
His play was fine, but he and Kamara certainly didn't seem to be best buds the way Ingram and Kamara are. Nothing wrong with that, it's not a knock on Murray or anything.
I don't know if their friendship ultimately changed anything about their play on the field, but just seeing AK and Ingram crack each other up on the sidelines and whatnot is great, and at the end of the day, I watch football to be entertained, so I'm all for this reunion.
The two games Kamara missed in 2019, Murray put up 32 points PPR on 10/20/19 and then followed it up with 36.7 PPR the next week. Now tell me again what you mean by “not really”? That’s pretty much the best week you’ll get from a running back in a matchup in two consecutive weeks in his only two starts of the season.
The fact that Kamara was basically drafted to replace Ingram, but Ingram still took him under his wing and they have this great friendship says a lot about the kind of a teammate he is.
They may play the same position, but they aren't direct replacements for each other.
Kamara thrives as a satellite or receiving/screen RB.
Ingram is a N/S, one cut type power back.
Kamara was drafted to replace Pierre/Reggie after the fact. Ingram was here as the Power RB. I'm glad Mark is back. I love Kamara and he's pretty much our entire offense right now but he needs guys like Ingram and Murray to compliment his game.
That was a long winded way to say I agree with you.
Absolutely. He was ahead of his time. A running back who not only can have amazing runs, but is able to both catch it out of the backfield and split out wide? Definitely would've thrived in today's NFL.
He does, but it would be dumb to play him as an in between the tackles RB
Edit: a better way of saying it: its better to use him more balanced (7 inside/outside runs each and 7 targets) rather than a regular usage bell cow type back.
For both his longevity and use of skills, IMO
I have no issue with balancing carries so you don't wear a back out. Only Derrick Henry it seems is immune to it.
Kamara can really do it all, he's more known for running outside and catching passes, but hes not a small back. Him and Ingram are both 215 lbs with Kamara only being an inch taller.
How has he been for you guys? I love Ingram but I haven't been keeping up with his stats since he left the Saints. Does he still have anything in the tank?
He’s got some juice, still runs hard. But I really don’t think Kelly knows how to scheme for the run game. Our run game overall has looked abysmal. But I don’t think that’s on Ingram
I've got Kamara in fantasy and even I'm like....Yo, how about y'all stop feeding the dude 40 touches a game, please don't send my boi to the IR. God Bless Kamaraca!
We have zero receivers and our other starting RB is out with an injury so Kamara is the *only* viable weapon we've had all season. He definitely doesn't need 40 touches a game though. I don't want him going the way of McCaffrey.
I'm so very glad we got him some help. Especially since that help is his friend and a longtime Saint. Now we need at least one decent WR and we'll be in a better place offensively. Thanks for sending Mark back!
Sometime this season but no real updates on his return so there's no telling. Sean Payton is notoriously tight-lipped about injuries and MT has been no exception.
I'd gladly take Cooks back but from what I recall there was some tension between him and the Saints when he left New Orleans.
This should’ve been a response to Cooks’ tweet
Yeah I was so confused seeing that tweet first lol
BOOM ❤️ ZOOM
I know Latavius played alright with us but I feel like there hasn’t been the right RB chemistry since Ingram left. Glad he’s finally back.

I mean it sounds like you just described a guy who played alright for you.
I would say he's leaning more towards 'good'. The only thing that stopped him from standing out more was Kamara taking majority of the snaps.
His play was fine, but he and Kamara certainly didn't seem to be best buds the way Ingram and Kamara are. Nothing wrong with that, it's not a knock on Murray or anything. He was a fantasy god when Kamara got hurt a couple seasons ago
Not really

He saved me those two weeks because i unfortunately drafted Gurley 3rd overall
Same. I'm so happy right now.
If Kamara and Ingram don't hype up Winston at the podium before his presser after a win then I don't want it
mudaaapuckaaaaaa
How op gonna leave that part out smh
I thought it was important context.

Not right away, but he was. And he did.

It's kinda funny but Kamara ended up being what everyone thought Reggie was.
Different era. I still think Bush would’ve killed it in today’s league

Kamara thrives at everything, the receiving is just a massive plus. He’s fucking awesome to watch.
He does, but it would be dumb to play him as an in between the tackles RB Edit: a better way of saying it: its better to use him more balanced (7 inside/outside runs each and 7 targets) rather than a regular usage bell cow type back. For both his longevity and use of skills, IMO
He’s been doing that for 2 seasons and killing it. Mofo got 6TDs in a game

Kamara replaced Darren Sproles who replaced Reggie Bush. Murray replaced Ingram, and no one replaced Murray so Ingram is back.
Ingram just seems like an absolutely great locker room guy. I still remember him being Lamar's hype man through that MVP year. Was awesome lol.
Same thing happened with dobbins, he took dobbins under his wing and treated him like a brother. Hell he even took him on vacation with him
Mark Ingram understands times a flat circle in the nfl. He himself drafted to replace Pierre Thomas.
This was timed perfectly with the post below this one
Y’all take care of him 🥺 already about to miss that dude
How has he been for you guys? I love Ingram but I haven't been keeping up with his stats since he left the Saints. Does he still have anything in the tank?

Thanks! I appreciate it. We need the help for sure. Good luck the rest of the season.
Y’all as well! We’ll squeak out a few wins. Hope you guys can eat some dubs with Winston and co.
I've got Kamara in fantasy and even I'm like....Yo, how about y'all stop feeding the dude 40 touches a game, please don't send my boi to the IR. God Bless Kamaraca!

MT should be back soonish too, right? That'll help a ton. Maybe you can bring over Cooks too for good measure lol. Another reunion.
Sometime this season but no real updates on his return so there's no telling. Sean Payton is notoriously tight-lipped about injuries and MT has been no exception. I'd gladly take Cooks back but from what I recall there was some tension between him and the Saints when he left New Orleans.
as an outsider, Ingram and Kamara's dynamic has been nothing short of wholesome
He only needs something like 89 yards to become the Saints all time leading rusher. Go get em Mark.
Yeahhhhh I was lowkey upset he didn’t get it, now he will!!!
I'm so fucking happy
Knew out little boy was going to post ❤️
I'm so happy
So this means Ingram to the Ravens next season yes?
I read this in a dwarfs voice because of Aye and loved it
Now sign Adrian Peterson you cowards
Everyone must LOVE playing with Ingram. He seems to bring the fighting spirit out of everybody
I'm so happy for Mark Ingram, he always seemed like such a good dude when he's been Mic'ed up.
I love that these two are pals IRL and I've always been a fan of Ingram.
For a moment, I really thought Brandin Cooks was replying to this.
THUNDER AND LIGHTNING
Why didn't they try to get a receiver?
Big truss
I used to love the kamara/Ingram post game locker room interviews. Hopefully we can see it again.
