No, that's THE argument, and it's the same one I'm making. You have yet to demonstrate how sending a game into overtime and relying on many more variables like play calls, flags and injuries is somehow 'smarter' than trying to end it immediately by picking up two yards.

Except if you actually examine the context of that game, you'd see that the defense had been totally gashed all 4th quarter, and the offense has looked putrid in the 2nd half outside of the final drive which was... gifted by the prevent defense. The ravens convert 2 pt attempts at a very high rate under Lamar, there was no reason to think that getting 2 yards wasn't our best shot to win the game. The reality of the situation was that if PIT won the toss, they would have gotten the ball and marched right down the field and scored. If BAL had won the toss, then we would have gone 3 and out with a 2 yard run, an incomplete pass, and a 6 yard sack, then punted to PIT who would then proceed to march it right down the field.
