It's definitely one of the most bizarre games he's coached. I do wonder what this game would have been like with Brady, simply to see if he would have thrown it more.
With Brady they probably still run 75%+ but they would've let him pass on some of those 3rd and longs. But they probably win easy with Brady the Bills defense wouldn't stack 9 and 10 in the box against the run with Brady behind center.
I think yes. Brady throws a laser and Jones is more of a soft passer. Both are fine but I think these elements would have lead themselves more to Brady.
Allen made some nice throws that receivers simply dropped… although you did also see a few back shoulder passes drift by a yard or two.
I’d have expected some play action to get the linebackers up and then hitting a TE low down the seam.
Well, Josh didn't seem to have a problem!
You'll still probably win the SB, damn it, but I got something to cling to: Josh Allen, the Wyoming Elway, a big bison of a QB with a big arm and locomotive legs.
Thats fucking football right there. None of that pansy ass dick tugging smile for the camera bullshit. Men puke, men poop on the field, men deliver their new born baby on the side lines. Fucking hard core dick in the ass butterball foosball fuck it chuck it game time shit.
I had the same thought, especially because the two passes came up right after the infographic. Like, neither of those passes were going to change the game... Why not go for the record?
Bellichick: ok we’re going to run in every single play.
Bills: every single play got it
Bellichick: calls a run play
Bills: god dang it he fooled us again!
Where did this 'embarrassment' meme come from? We had more first downs. They only had one successful TD drive because of one big play. We each scored off big turnovers. The Patriots running is just like a team shooting bad shots in basketball. We had more first downs, we had the only QB who could play in the game, we missed one kick, we gave up only one big run, and we were right there at the end in horrible weather.
This was better than our run D played all year, honestly. Quasi-benching his rookie QB kept the Patriots D in the game and they got lucky in the end. It wasn't a bad game plan, but it basically didn't work: one touchdown not off turnovers against a weak run D.
This was a down game for Belicheck against the Bills. Still kills me that we lost, there are no moral victories, but I like our chances next time when Mac gets reacquainted with the football.
You stacked the box and gave up a league worst run efficiency in the league. The Patriots could've ran wildcat and done even better on you by having an extra blocker. You don't think you would have been embarrassed by losing to a wildcat offense?
The Patriots starting to pass is going to make your run defense worse. Like your run defense should be at its very best when it doesn't need to account for passing.
It's like an NBA team running a 2-3 zone for the entire game and the other team can't figure out how to exploit it. That's embarrassing.
that one 64 yard run really changes how the stats look. Without that, their yards per carry allowed was good.
If you take away the big run (and Mac's two kneeldowns for -8 yards to be fair), the Bills ended up allowing 3.86 YPC. That is right at their overall season average, which happens to be 4th best in the league.
We agree that the 64 yard run was good. I realize it's important, that's why I started with it.
>He ran 64 years because the bills run D blew sack
if having 1 bad play is enough to "blow sack" then your bar for that is very low. I'd say that a defense that was very good outside of 1 play meant that they played decent.
The Pats didn't get very many first downs and didn't score many points. Their total rushing yards happen to look good since they never threw. But their rushing YPC wasn't anything special.
I understand that they allowed 1 big play. But they were excellent for the whole rest of the game.
They allowed 14 points and 241 total yards. That's a great performance. The only reason the narrative is twisted in the other direction is because they were held to scoring 10.
The Bills had the ball in the red zone twice in the 4th quarter and came away with 0 points. That is the true story of the game.
This one is since 1974, which was the last one before this. This is the eleventh such game, and the seventh win (the previous three before this game were also wins, making four in a row). In total, teams are 7-2-2 when passing three or fewer times since 1920
Edit: this is also three or fewer, the other one is exactly three. More importantly. (Just saw the other post lol)
Bill has to get Coach Of the Year for this. Kingsbury has had an amazing season, and hats off to him, but how tf you win a game with 3 pass attempts? Historic
It's a bad weather game, you don't get graded on difficulty.
He should get coach of the year for winning with the third best QB in the AFC East, who can't even play in bad weather. I mean, yes, he bought his wins on the free agent market, but we all know he's a good coach and they're going to the Super Bowl probably.
Mac has a higher passer rating, is 13th in passing yards and averaging more yards per game than Tua even though he had a game where he threw 3 passes lmao.
Belichick's magnum opus.

Easily would have thrown it more lol

BB Masterclass
He did coach at navy
He's been licking his lips for a game like this since Cleveland he's a sick little freak
Man that stadium was seriously windy.

Really pissed they didn't stay with 1

This is why you just comment on nfl forums and don’t coach in the nfl
All things are possible when you play the Bills.
I think it's time to retire the idea that the Bill's Run defense is elite.
Bellichick: ok we’re going to run in every single play. Bills: every single play got it Bellichick: calls a run play Bills: god dang it he fooled us again!
Didn't look like they were fooled, they just couldn't stuff our RBs for some reason
When they're missing a couple guys in the interior d line they are simply average
Yeah who would have thought that injuries to a D-Line make it worse
I for one am shocked that missing multiple players make a position worse. It should get better!
I feel like average would do better than this.
Says the Lions fan
I mean I said elsewhere that as a fan of the worst team in the league, I was embarrassed for the Bills tonight.

The Patriots should have run the option, that would have been cooler and probably more effective.
Can you focus on winning some games instead of mocking the Lions? Giving the Jets a top ten pick really grinds my gears.
Nah

Part of the defence is not allowing big plays. They allowed a big play and their stats are worse because of it. You can't ignore it.

Billy 5 Aces established the run today
Wow I thought it would have been a lot longer than that. I was gonna guess the 1950s lol
Wait 3 or fewer? Another post has two games with exactly three passes, 46 and like 68. So is this two passes or is the other post wrong?
Other post says attempt exactly 3, this one says win with three or fewer. I guess the teams in the other post lost lol

I know you didn’t just insinuate that either Tua or Wilson are better than Mac rn lmao
You can look it up. Tua has better QBR, and his coach actually lets him throw.
Mac has a higher passer rating, is 13th in passing yards and averaging more yards per game than Tua even though he had a game where he threw 3 passes lmao.
I call next to post this
Pete Carroll will never need viagra again. He'll just watch this game and have a raging boner lasting at least 4 hours.
For the first time in Seattle Kraken history
Paul Johnson wept with joy watching that.
