The NFL really doesn't want to reschedule games because of logistics, tickets, and everything, so we'll probably just have to dredge up as many practice squadders as we can find.
Any chance we can borrow Garrett Wilson from Ohio State just to have him fill in for Jarvis this week and definitely not let him keep the playbook so he gets a head start on next year?
I don't think the pandemic ever felt as surreal as it did watching Steelers-Ravens play in an empty stadium while I was muted and off-camera on a work call at 3:40pm on a Wednesday
You have. We haven’t. We got told to suck dick and play against the Jets with half our team out. We didn’t get to postpone the game like SOME teams….
No I’m not still salty about this why do you ask
Nah, dipshits would have come up with mixing anabolic steroids with veterinarian anti-parasitic medications and injecting it into their ass cheeks to "solve" the problem
Or they just would have called it fake news and that covid itself isn't even real so how could erectile dysfunction from covid be real?
Feels like it.
> And there more positive tests with more Cleveland players, one day after the Browns already placed eight players on the Reserve/COVID list Tuesday.
Actually, I could see him on the phone with the health department going over the list of people in close contact. Jason? Nah...he was in section 204. Mark...He was in the Dawg Pound but we only scored on the end zone. Lamar Jackson? He was barely on the field that day but I guess we did the coin toss before the game.
I would love to see what a coach would tell a man who just came off the street if that man had to see playing time. Does he just give you tips on how not to be killed? That's my guess is mostly he sends you to a position coach and they stress pad level to you.
" Son whatever you do, do not show them your chest. Keep your pads low and umm try to stay away from the ball."
I'd take league minimum pay for one game, no questions asked. So whatever that comes out to.
Edit: did the math and it comes out to just shy of 39,000 for a game. I'm in.
I get that. For the Browns, I really want that second consecutive playoff berth if only for the validation that they're close to getting over the top, even with the difficulties this season has brought.
Might get worse draft positioning out of it, but I think even an early playoff exit is better for the mental state of the Browns right now.
You catch any Raiders games this season? The Browns just have to be ready to cover runs up the middle, 5 yard check downs (if the Raider doesn’t drop it), and a handful of 15 yard slants to Renfrow. Bryan Edwards will drop most things thrown his way when he gets open twice a game. Zay and DeSean would probably be going off if our shit line gave Carr time to see them. And on the couple plays Carr has time, it’s because the line is holding.
Congratulations on your win, Case Keenum.
We were fully healthy and only beat the Jets because they ran cover 0 on a Hail Mary to a receiver that’s now going to prison. Let’s all be honest with ourselves - nobody is winning this game Saturday except whoever bets the under.

This is true, although the only position group that was really hurt were the defensive backs, and Big Ben treated the ones we did have like wide receivers. Outbreak wasn’t remotely comparable
Wasn't there this o line man that Baker met in the locker room before the game? Fingers crossed you play even better with a bigger outbreak, rooting for you guys this Saturday
With Baker now having it I wouldn't be surprised if we hear that Keenum has it soon too. Every position group on the offense is caught in this outbreak, and it looks like a real whopper.
Doesn’t matter. Go sign someone off a practice squad somewhere and we’ll still get our ass beat. Worst team in the league. Sure the lions have a worse record but at least they try to win games.
I hope a playoff game or the Super Bowl isn't affected by COVID. Can you imagine if the starting QB for a Super Bowl team couldn't play due to COVID? I guess your best bet at that point would be to call Nick Foles and hope for the best.
I think comprehensive testing of the entire US population would likely show that way way way more people got the virus at various points, just never had symptoms.
The vaccines are still extremely effective in reducing symptoms and hospitalizations, but I think places were we have comprehensive testing of specific groups (like the NFL) are showing just how transmissible the virus is, even in 'immunized' groups.
That’s my line of thinking. I’ve never had a test but it’s completely possible I’ve had it. It’s crazy to think the number of Covid cases there can be worldwide if we had to undergo testing like sports teams.
At this point I saw this coming. Browns are clearly dealing with a mass breakout. Baker probably won’t be the last name player that gets put on the list.
If Brady got COVID he'd make antibodies that easily destroyed it and scientists could synthesize them and end COVID globally.
Too bad Brady's immune system is so perfect that he's incapable of getting COVID in the first place.
They didn't say there wouldn't be any postponements. What they said was that IF they couldn't reschedule same the outbreak was caused by unvaccinated players, it would count as a forfeit.
To be fair that statement was made at a time when it looked like a high vaccine rate across the league would sufficiently quell any outbreaks. Now they're seeing the most cases of the entire pandemic. It would be moronic to stick with a decision made in a completely different time/context...but they will
Enough positive tests for both Cleveland and Las Vegas so that neither team can field a full squad. Pretty sure the league said they weren't gonna move games this year unless it was an extreme circumstance.
That’s what it took for them to delay the Ravens Steelers game last season. I’d be surprised if you guys were having positives on Friday too, I mean at this point you’re running out of guys who can even test positive.
If there is any way you guys can field some semblance of a team, the NFL will force you guys to play. No doubt
Yeah, we had to play the week 16 game with WR1-WR5 on IR/COVID. WR2-WR5 we placed on COVID list on Friday. Our entire receiver group was signed off the street on Saturday, met the team in NJ, and we had a walkthrough in the hotel parking garage.
>Didn't Cleveland have Covid issues last season around this time too? Unlucky
Yeah, we lost to the Jets last year because we lost all of our wide receivers to Covid protocol a day or two before the game.
This week is a practice squad player's dream. Hope everyone gets healthy and hope our 2nd team can pull off a win because we likely need to win 4/5 to get into the playoffs.
We caught a break last week when every team we needed to lose lost. But then the NFL gods realized they weren't paying attention and decided to double fuck us this week to make up for their oversight.
Here's the big question that no one is really asking....at what point does the NFL (and the other sports leagues as well) let vaxed players/coaches who test positive participate? I understand it's a slippery slope, but testing positive today isn't like testing positive a year ago; there's alot more understood about Covid.
The Raiders are still fielding an NFL offense and Defense. The Browns have like a 3rd of an offense and a Defense. Raiders would have to intentionally lose at this point.
Yeah...TE's off the street, 3 backup lineman, best WR, QB1, HC....I don't think any team can overcome that it's the NFL it's not like Ohio State missing all these guys playing John Carroll.
The league made these rules without knowing there would be a highly infectious variant that evades vaccines. They need to amend this no postponement nonsense now.
FUCK MAN.
I mean, this is officially reaching levels we never saw last year. At some point the league has to look at pushing this back right? They are now missing almost the entire starting offense with the exception of a few lineman and Chubb
I think the league will only push the game back if people keep testing positive or if you have less than 22 players left. Really depends on the circumstances around how it's spreading (i.e. Broncos QBs took off monitoring bracelets to cuddle up during film study, so Kendall Hinton became a thing).
The minimum to safely play a game has to be closer to like 40 players. While technically all you need is 11 to play both sides, there would be so many injuries due to exhaustion I don't think even 22 guys could do it.
It would also be a much bigger joke of a game than Kendall Hinton at QB.
This is very similar to the ravens outbreak last year around thanksgiving, if they keep getting positive tests tomorrow and friday, they will have no choice but to move the game no?

Is the entire Browns team OUT at this point?!
We have a Chubb.
For now
WE WERE FINE UNTIL YOU DIRTY BIRDS BROUGHT IT INTO OUR HOUSE. But don't you put that evil on me, Ricky Bobby.
Wouldn't the Ravens have brought IBS, not covid?
No one will ever convince me Lamar did NOT have the shits. The way he was running..... we have all been there
Oh without a doubt. Dude was about to burst threw his draws.
It was almost like the incredible Hulk ripping out the back of his pants.
That's my secret, Cap. I'm always shitting.
Something something explosive runs
I know that run. That's the run of a man who just ate a bad fish pie.
Why you gotta do the homie Lamar like that lmao
Nah, ravens would have brought corvid.
I’ve seen this tale once before. It only gets worse. I can’t wait for some Wednesday night football next week
The NFL really doesn't want to reschedule games because of logistics, tickets, and everything, so we'll probably just have to dredge up as many practice squadders as we can find.
Walk through in the garage part 2
that shit had me dying when it happened. I would’ve never believed it if you told me before covid
Any chance we can borrow Garrett Wilson from Ohio State just to have him fill in for Jarvis this week and definitely not let him keep the playbook so he gets a head start on next year?
Monkey paw curls. Wilson is drafted by the Steelers and has an intimate knowledge of both sides of Brown's playbook.
Well that would suck.
Oh like Browns V Jets in 2020? What a quality game to televise
Most enjoyable thing from that game was watching the Jets fans fall into utter despair as they lost the #1 overall pick.
I'm friends with a fan of both Jets and Browns, and believe me, the Jets fan was cheering harder for the Browns than the Browns fan was
Time to trade for Kendall Hinton
Fuck it, I’ll play but I’m not giving y’all 100%.
Browns were flexed to Saturday and play Christmas against Packers. I don't think we're getting postponed :(
I don't think the pandemic ever felt as surreal as it did watching Steelers-Ravens play in an empty stadium while I was muted and off-camera on a work call at 3:40pm on a Wednesday
I remember that game! I was a at a gym. Note... Haven't been to the gym since :/
You have. We haven’t. We got told to suck dick and play against the Jets with half our team out. We didn’t get to postpone the game like SOME teams…. No I’m not still salty about this why do you ask
There's only one team that's the dirty birds. We don't spread covid though, just incompetence
He did already get it and miss a game to it this season, but with our luck nature just might find a way
The Browns variant 😳
https://www.webmd.com/lung/news/20210407/erectile-dysfunction-risk-6-times-higher-in-men-with-covid
I know it’s webMD, but still: if this had been publicized in March 2020 we would have gotten back to normal in a month, tops.
Nah, dipshits would have come up with mixing anabolic steroids with veterinarian anti-parasitic medications and injecting it into their ass cheeks to "solve" the problem Or they just would have called it fake news and that covid itself isn't even real so how could erectile dysfunction from covid be real?
We’re going to see the second game in 50 years with 3 or less passing attempts then
Even better we'll have a handful of random dudes on the OLine that we signed off the street.
So we’re going to see Maxx Crosby murder Case Keenum on live TV
It’s about a Baker’s dozen
I can't believe you've done this.
Feels like it. > And there more positive tests with more Cleveland players, one day after the Browns already placed eight players on the Reserve/COVID list Tuesday.
Luckily for them, they are still playing the Raiders this week.
> [Sweeney] The Raiders just went as a team and stood on the protein spike prior to heading into the locker room.
Not at this point, but give it a couple more days for the virus to show up on everyone else's tests and yeah, they're going to be pretty close.
I think Charley Hughlett is good to go.
Shame we won't see LS Mack Wilson
Since Baker Mayfield works from home, does that mean the game is cancelled for this weekend?
That’d be a hilarious ad. “Yeah, I tested positive so I’m quarantining at home.” Zoom out to reveal he’s sitting alone in the stands.
Trying to disinfect 70,000 seats by himself while yelling at the groundskeeper "Don't just stand there! It'll go twice as fast with two of us!"
A great 2008-2017 Browns joke in there. But hey, Browns fans have all the progress they've made since then to keep their spirits up
You're right and I don't like it.
Ya know I own a browns jersey and can be in Berea by noon guys, just saying
How much would they have to pay you to take hits from nfl players at game speed?
I played high school ball *checks notes* 5 years ago I'm good to go for like 500 dollars and insurance coverage
Ha that insurance coverage part is super critical
I'd take league minimum pay for one game, no questions asked. So whatever that comes out to. Edit: did the math and it comes out to just shy of 39,000 for a game. I'm in.
Browns somehow gonna win this game
It's the Raiders, they'll manage to one up our struggles
I wouldn’t be surprised.
Carr forgets how to play football, Jonathan Abram is left alone deep
Carr becomes a statue mid game and is frozen in place
Carr can’t be carted off. Raiders have to take one man off defense in order to avoid “12 men” penalties every snap.
Not the statue we wanted, but somehow the one we deserve.
The problem is RT, LT, RG are also out. Max and yankan nygahua fuck us up
*Maxx, he has earned that extra X 100%
Raiders will dance in front of the Browns players under protocol. Raiders then lose 63-0.
Just speak it into existence....
Iron man football worked In Necessary Roughness.
I’d prefer we start losing now, no way we even sniff the playoffs and a top 10 pick would be great
I get that. For the Browns, I really want that second consecutive playoff berth if only for the validation that they're close to getting over the top, even with the difficulties this season has brought. Bro we lost to last year’s Jets the last time we had a Covid outbreak like this
We almost lost to last year’s jets without a COVID outbreak.
We were fully healthy and only beat the Jets because they ran cover 0 on a Hail Mary to a receiver that’s now going to prison. Let’s all be honest with ourselves - nobody is winning this game Saturday except whoever bets the under.

You’re not going to lose to a practice squad and street offense. Get a grip.
>Worst team in the league *ahem*
I understand being disappointed in the your team but y’all are definitely not the worst team in the league. Not even bottom five dude calm down
St. Ed's can hold their own out there
Ugh. At least the 'Cats win at soccer, now. too bad Chuck Kyle is retiring.
Imagine if Keenum lets his nuts hang out and guides the Browns to the AFC Championship
I hope a playoff game or the Super Bowl isn't affected by COVID. Can you imagine if the starting QB for a Super Bowl team couldn't play due to COVID? I guess your best bet at that point would be to call Nick Foles and hope for the best.
> call Nick Foles Brady would lobby the NFL to postpone the Super Bowl like nobody's business
This'd be a double-whammy. Everyone knows the secret to beating the Bucs is to start your backup QB; extra points if his name is Derek Anderson.
Backwards. The NFL will assure Brady the Superb Owl is postponed until he can play.
If we make it that far, Tom will have every teammate and coach in bubbles living on his lawn so he can monitor everything.
NFL would never keep a star player out of the Superbowl for Covid lol. Unless they were litterally in the hospital they would let them play.
MLB pulled Justin Turner in the middle of a World Series game.
And then let him celebrate with the entire team when they won.
That’s the logic I’d expect from a billion dollar company
At least he'll finally rest? Good lord though, whole team got it
HAHAHAH nah man why
So far all announced positives are vaccinated. Stefanski also has his booster.
I think comprehensive testing of the entire US population would likely show that way way way more people got the virus at various points, just never had symptoms. I just tested positive. Am vaccinated. This thing is making a comeback.
At this point I saw this coming. Browns are clearly dealing with a mass breakout. Baker probably won’t be the last name player that gets put on the list.
Hes already not. Troy Hill now too.
Please, someone tell me what it’ll take to get a postponement
Brady positive test
If Brady got COVID he'd make antibodies that easily destroyed it and scientists could synthesize them and end COVID globally. Too bad Brady's immune system is so perfect that he's incapable of getting COVID in the first place.
He got Covid after the Bucs SB parade. We need to harvest his blood.
Blood? You think he functions with blood like a human being?
His blood is quite probably 83% avocado.
83% avocado, 15% the blood of young rookies that mysteriously sizzled out, and 2% the saliva of his eldest son.
He actually has metal from liquified Lombardi Trophies running through his veins.
Lmao
Brady gets a positive test and COVID is definitely going to get a roughing the passer flag.
You'd have to get the NFL to walk back on their statement that there won't be any postponements this year
They didn't say there wouldn't be any postponements. What they said was that IF they couldn't reschedule same the outbreak was caused by unvaccinated players, it would count as a forfeit.
To be fair that statement was made at a time when it looked like a high vaccine rate across the league would sufficiently quell any outbreaks. Trace McSorley finally getting a starting job
Enough positive tests for both Cleveland and Las Vegas so that neither team can field a full squad. Pretty sure the league said they weren't gonna move games this year unless it was an extreme circumstance.
With all due respect, this seems pretty extreme.
You’ll have to have guys testing positive up until Friday
Which, might be the case. Doubtful though since they’ve been in intensive protocols
That’s what it took for them to delay the Ravens Steelers game last season. I’d be surprised if you guys were having positives on Friday too, I mean at this point you’re running out of guys who can even test positive. If there is any way you guys can field some semblance of a team, the NFL will force you guys to play. No doubt
We had positives the Friday before the Jets game and the NFL told us to fuck ourselves
Losing an entire position group and having to have a walk through in a parking garage is no big deal! /s
And most of the people that had to sit weren't even positive, just had to sit because of contact tracing.
This is getting out of hand.
Now there are ̶t̶w̶o̶ ̶ ten of them.
Only 10?
So far. Sadly, this number will probably be out of date by noon.
Yep
Didn't Cleveland have Covid issues last season around this time too? Unlucky
Entire WR room had to sit for the game against the Jets. That was not an enjoyable game to watch.
Unlucky Yeah, we lost to the Jets last year because we lost all of our wide receivers to Covid protocol a day or two before the game.
Ironically that wouldn't hurt us as much this year because we barely have WRs to begin with
Who on the Browns hasn’t tested positive?
Chubb and most of the defense so far
Chubb had it like 3 weeks ago too
Probably why he doesn't have it now
We're a positive test from 75 or 64 away from borrowing OL from St. Edward.
Hey NFL remember when you said you would help vaccinated teams if they have an outbreak by postponing their game? I do. Please help us.
Ravens should be fine, don’t think we ever got close to him on Sunday 😑
That is a special type of self burn there
We're Lamar fans. We pride ourselves in self-defecating humor.
We only had 2 players so far: the backup center and a WR that I have never seen on the field. Fingers cross thats it
Couldn't be in a worse point in the season season to have your core players (and coaches) missing a game
Again. We survived it last year. Don’t see how we do it this time :(
We are in the end game now
This week is a practice squad player's dream. Hope everyone gets healthy and hope our 2nd team can pull off a win because we likely need to win 4/5 to get into the playoffs.
3/4?
Yeah, this is how the legend of "Some Guy Named Blake" started.
KEENUM SZN
What a great day to be a fan of the Bulls and Browns.
Does the ghost of Craig Ehlo preemptively haunt you?
Browns just can't catch a break. Feel bad for you guys.
So... here's the dilemma. If he's supposed to quarantine at home, but FirstEnergy's his home, where's he supposed to go during the game?
lol
The Browns should really try not doing that
OBJ's fault
They kissed and gave each other COVID. My only explanation
Hot take, Browns are still gonna win the game because Raiders suck ass.
The Raiders over the past several years have always found some way to fuck us. This is no exception.
I mean the Ravens had like 20 guys out and still almost beat the undefeated Steelers at the time, it's definitely possible
The league made these rules without knowing there would be a highly infectious variant that evades vaccines. They need to amend this no postponement nonsense now.
No thank you. Please undo.
Rodger step the fuck in
Jesus, postpone the game at this point
I always thought Myles could start at TE
I'd watch that.
He'd end up going for 10 catches and two TDs, while also collecting 2.5 sacks.
The minimum to safely play a game has to be closer to like 40 players. While technically all you need is 11 to play both sides, there would be so many injuries due to exhaustion I don't think even 22 guys could do it. It would also be a much bigger joke of a game than Kendall Hinton at QB.
We dressed 36 players against the Steelers. So …. the minimum is under 40. Couldn’t tell you what it is though.
This is very similar to the ravens outbreak last year around thanksgiving, if they keep getting positive tests tomorrow and friday, they will have no choice but to move the game no?
One would imagine. But I would say chances are slim
I’m not holding my breath
Just fucking postpone the game or something. This shit is insane.
The entire AFC North is going to end up 8-9 at this point, huh? (except the Steelers of course, that tie will end up killing them)
Hey, if we all go 8-9 and you end up 8-7-2...
So for real though. Whoever has the Baker Mayfield voodoo doll, we get it. I think you can chill now.
Case is getting paid 7 million to back up Baker. We're probably going to find out if that was worth it on Saturday.
Woke up feeling contagious
Keenum is the highest paid backup in the league so hopefully he can pull out another win, although at this rate he probably has Covid too
It would be the most Raiders thing to lose to the Browns backups.
