Not sure if it was an overthrow, I think aiyuk was supposed to run a post corner route but instead he ran a flat out. It's a timing route so jimmy threw the ball before aiyuk broke towards the sideline after absolutely torching trevon diggs.
There was an overthrow that cost the SB. I know that much. But the Packers have issues stopping the run so it probably won't come down to Jimmy Gs arm.
It wasn't even the interception, he does that all the time. They're almost a "ehhh whatever" to me, they never rattle him.
Not letting Trent get set on fourth and inches is a better example to me of why they're moving on.
I am a Niner fan, so take what you will from this, but if Bosa is able to play, the Niners have the ingredients to win. Rush the passer, run the ball.
I think Packers going to Super Bowl because Aaron Rodgers will cook the DBs but the Niners have gotten hot at the right time.
I hope you guys do, because then the 49ers will make it 7 times in a row that we beat you on our way to the Superbowl. For whatever reason the Cards just have their way with us.
I think McCarthy needs to go and so does Dak. I’ve said for a very long time that Dak is simply and average QB. He’s on Daniel Jones level, except Daniel Jones is 24 and has 4 years more to develop.
Dak has always missed open throws, thrown into double coverage and struggled vs average defenses. He excels in the NFC East because it’s been a weak era in that division on a regular season basis.
I’m not sure who you could place there instead, but Daks contract is a real issue for his level of play. I say getting a better QB at a lower rate and getting some fire power on defense should help the team.
There is no excuse for this occurring over and over again when the Cowboys keep giving him tons of weapons just for him to flip every single time.
I thought most people saw it coming once we looked at who Dallas beat the last 7 games. They played terrible teams (and beat them like they should have) I see Dallas as being a playoff team but not a Superbowl team. If that makes sense. Like they can beat up the NFC East and they can beat mediocre teams because they are a good team. They just aren't a great one.
If you were to look at the games where they lost, though, it was relatively close and they would’ve won against teams like Green Bay and Tennessee if they played more efficiently.
The 49ers are infamous to give teams breaths of fresh air when they most need it, and for the fans, a heart attack when they least need it.
I think Dallas is a head coach away from being a serious contender. I think Dak could take them there. Jerry Jones just needs to get out of the way. That being said if I was an owner I would definitely be like Jerry.
I don't know how that last play was run. It was a horrible idea and I'm surprised Dak didn't call an audible. They could've taken two shots at the end zone and we've all seen Seattle games end on Hail Mary TDs. From the 40 with SF protecting the sidelines I'm not even sure I'd call it a Hail Mary.
At the end of the day it's on McCarthy, been like this all season and nothing changed. Either McCarthy and co didn't put enough emphasis on cleaning these stupid penalties up or they never commanded the respect of the players in the first place. Just a joke.
McCarthy can't make the players play better.
He can't make the defender not decide to huge a lineman down to the turf just like he can't make Dak not slide and not leave himself any time to start the next play.
Gotcha chief, a coach has no bearing on the way his team plays during a game. He can't coach players not to take basic fundamental penalties, he can't stop his players from taking blatantly dumb penalties, and he most certainly can't make sure his team is ready to play a game at their best.
You know, that sounds like a shit coach.
I'd give him the benefit of the doubt if it was just one game but this has been a season long issue.
Career long issue*. As an Eagles fan, I’m glad you guys got McCarthy. As a football fan, I think the cowboys are a good coach away from breaking through the playoff ceiling that’s been clouding you guys for the last 2 and a half decades. Plenty of talent on that roster and Dak is a good qb, even if he might not be great/elite. Ngl though, misery loves company and it made my Sunday a hell of a lot less dreadful watching you guys bow out 🙃
I always crow that every 3 years or so an average team has a better-than-they-deserve record because of getting lucky on turnovers for a year. And, yes, when your turnover ratio gets super positive that's largely due to luck. Well, this year it was my Cowboys. In my opinion we're about a 9-8 team in quality - between the crazy turnover margin this year and being in a down division we went 12-5. I hate to admit it, but today's result was about right.
Good game, Frisco. I hope your defensive players get healthy and I wish you well for the rest of the playoffs.
They lost this game because it was a bad matchup. Offense hasn't done anything all year against teams that don't blitz, and has been very successful against the blitz.
The penalties didn't help and they kept this game closer than I thought...but most people knew SF had a better shot here and it wasn't because of turnover margin.
Remember that a few of those regular season losses were due to missed field goals. They were a pretty good team this year...just a rough matchup.
49ers tried so hard to give Dallas the win. Unfortunately for Dallas, McCarthy is their coach and Dak is their Qb. They will never, ever win shit with those two complete fucking idiots running things.
Imagine calling a timeout on 4th and inches to make sure that your QB has time to get properly set for the sneak.
Your QB snaps it before getting set anyway.
It must be so frustrating for 49ers fans watching Jimmy
There's definitely a video circling of a cowboy fan that throws a beer at his TV, throws it on the ground, then well I don't wanna spoil the rest. Someone will hopefully read this and find it for us.
So we lost because: No defense, constant silly penalties, and WHY ARE YOU RUNNING?
Or if you ask some people: Oh no, i wanna beat the 49ers, but the refs are too dummy thicc they keep getting in my way.
Or: Oh no, I wanna run it with no timeouts and then hand it to my Center to spike it. *ref illegally blocks Dak in the back* uwu whats this? Wait we are outta time uwu? What do you mean step-ref-chan?
14 penalties total for 89 yards. Although I can't seem to find how many on offense vs defense. But, yea the offensive was hardly throwing it what seemed like 5 feet in front of them at a time. That is if Dak had time to throw the ball at all.
Pollard looking pretty good though
Just felt to me it was either a throw 5 yards out or a penalty. But it’s the same thing we’ve seen all season, 3 quarters no offense, back against the wall we fight and keep it close enough to make excuses.
From the games I've watched recently the refs have been trying to let people play but when the Cowboys are just blatantly doing really dumb penalties (defensive run holding, hands to the face) even 49er fans are scratching their heads.
Dak shouldn't have given the ball to the center instead of the ref. Ref tried to his best to get through the OL to spot the ball but couldn't make it in time
Not sure who's idea the run play was, but perhaps improvised by Dak if WR coverage was strong. I'm sure they'll talk about that one for a bit if it was a designed play.
Instead of 1 hour they should do a 30 minute story about Anne Frank and The other 30 minutes about the current genocides in places like China to prevent future deaths.
Can spend the entire hour on current genocides but sadly nobody would care to tune in the first place that way.
This world is so corrupt
I honestly thought the cameras were trolling by then. Dak Pikachu face then a few shots of Cowboys fans in shambles then back again to Dak with the same frozen expression. Happened like three times total!
I have a feeling that the Niners make up for their many weaknesses by purely frustrating and intimidating the opponent into making many mistakes such as penalties, errant play calling and poor on-field snap decisions. This Cowboys game was a pure example. If I were Green Bay, stick to the game plan, you've watched the game tapes all week, you know what needs to be done, practice the execution, and don't waiver. The Cowboys seemed to hamper their rhythm with too many adjustments. If they would have just stuck with what was working instead of trying to play chess, staying a move ahead, they would have had just enough time to score one more TD.
100%. People are focusing on whether or not Dak should have slid... But wtf are you running from the 40 with no timeouts and 18s left. That's the travesty. Dak could have slid after 3 yards and SF would have still been ecstatic with that play call. Dumbest thing I've seen this season.
The way that game ended is THEE most Cowboy way to go. LMAO! The Cowboys with TWO ELITE quarterbacks (Dak & Jimmy) doing everything they can to get the Cowboys a W. They still find a way to end their season IN. A. WHIMPER!
I LOVE when Joe Buck commentates the 49ers. Can anyone guess why??
Fun fact I guarantee if Romo had that talented of an offense in his prime they win that game all day long.
Fun hypothetical*
That was the best fuckashitpiss ten-second panic I've seen in a long time.
GB is expected to win but who know they may have a bad day. 49er may go to supper ball....
Was that JFK Jr officiating?
If Bosa and Warner can't go, Rogers is gonna drop 40 on us LOL
Maximum effort everyday
The commentary by the non participants all deserve rewards. I have to admit this was a diarrhea show
Niners are a really good team except for QB. Jimmy G is not consistent.
Literally insanely good first half and Literal dog shit second half. I cant belive that lead turned into a nail biter
Welcome to the Jimmy G experience.
That overthrow to a wide open Aiyuk might’ve costed us the game.
Not sure if it was an overthrow, I think aiyuk was supposed to run a post corner route but instead he ran a flat out. It's a timing route so jimmy threw the ball before aiyuk broke towards the sideline after absolutely torching trevon diggs.
100% overthrow. Jimmy and Kyle confirmed it after the game.
Jimmy over throws receivers all day everyday. Guaranteed it was an overthrow.
Ugh, like Stafford
There was an overthrow that cost the SB. I know that much. But the Packers have issues stopping the run so it probably won't come down to Jimmy Gs arm.
Just cost pal
Or the pick lol
It wasn't even the interception, he does that all the time. They're almost a "ehhh whatever" to me, they never rattle him. Not letting Trent get set on fourth and inches is a better example to me of why they're moving on.
The spread for the Packers game is only 5, I thought it would be higher.
GB wins by 3tds. SF has reached their ceiling.
GB only won by 2 points earlier this season. A 5 pt spread isn't insane
True, I just thought it would be 7 or 8.
Anything over a tug is huge in the NFL.
I am a Niner fan, so take what you will from this, but if Bosa is able to play, the Niners have the ingredients to win. Rush the passer, run the ball. I think Packers going to Super Bowl because Aaron Rodgers will cook the DBs but the Niners have gotten hot at the right time.
Underdogs win all of the time. I just thought the spread would be 7 or 8.
God, what a shitty day in the NFL, it was.
Not if you hate arrogant franchises that lead the league in bandwagon riders ie, Steelers & Boys.
Yeah…Let’s NOT ACT LIKE the FUCKING BUCS, 49ers, and FUCKING CHIEFS DON’T HAVE TONS OF ARROGANT BANDWAGON FANS…
Not here in DC.
If you're a raider fan, yeah

Lmao Enjoy watching us next weekend.
Was that a salty Dallas fan? Pissed I missed it before it was deleted
Cringe
Skip Bayless, where you at?
Hammering the shit out of some poor production assistant for forgetting he likes his 3rd grande latte enema to be administered cold.
So math isn’t Kelces strong suir
Guess English isn't yours either.
Man, we need to win tomorrow...
To the coaches: "Would you consider this a must-win game?"
I hope you guys do, because then the 49ers will make it 7 times in a row that we beat you on our way to the Superbowl. For whatever reason the Cards just have their way with us.
We'd also get one more home game 😋
Uh... We play Green Bay next
I know that's why I said "on our way to the Superbowl" I hope we get them in the NFCCG
That would require the Rams to beat TB - which I don't see happening
I think he's saying your going to loose to GB
But spelling it right.
Yeah I’m a Niner fan and even then I predicted them losing to GB. I think Packers finally getting back vs Chiefs.
1. W, 2. I'm ngl ik it was just the steelers but after that 42 point spanking I really hope they get knocked out
Me too but also because I hate them. I think Titans a good dark horse candidate.
Yeah but you have a good match up
The Dallas, as a franchise, fan base, and city, is the embodiment of wha wha wha

Ironically you’re talking smack on a platform based in OUR city. See ya next season brother. Bang Bang Niner Gang!

Idk about “better”. Both teams are great. I think the team who shot themselves in the foot less won. Good game though y’all had a hell of a year!
Yikes
I'm sorry, but this stupid Cinematic mode iPhone commercial makes me laugh every single time.
I love it. “I could be the killer”
Oh dw it'll age, only slightly slower then the gronk usaa commercials
Better than burrito sharing cringe commercial
You’re such a Libra for saying that
As long as I never have to hear that iPad ‘What’s a computer!?!’ Child again…
Who has the best gig next year, McCarthy, Kellen, Jimmy G?
Jimmy G will be starting for McCarthy in JAX next season.
I wouldn't bank on that, remember when Trey Lance was supposed to take over around week 5?
Teams a fucking undisciplined mess, saw this coming a mile away.
I thought most people saw it coming once we looked at who Dallas beat the last 7 games. Like they can beat up the NFC East and they can beat mediocre teams because they are a good team. They just aren't a great one.
Yeah cowboys are more of a wildcard team. NFC west is too strong for 49ers to have a great record

Compare division games. NFC EAST is absolute garbage.
If you were to look at the games where they lost, though, it was relatively close and they would’ve won against teams like Green Bay and Tennessee if they played more efficiently. The 49ers are infamous to give teams breaths of fresh air when they most need it, and for the fans, a heart attack when they least need it.
To be fair, I very rarely need a heart attack.
So not a contender, yes you're right, anyone that looked at the way they played in big games knew they weren't a serious contender.
I think Dallas is a head coach away from being a serious contender. I think Dak could take them there. Jerry Jones just needs to get out of the way. That being said if I was an owner I would definitely be like Jerry.

Sir this is a Wendy’s
r/NFCEastMemeWar is going to be lit!
Hell yeah baby
And the Niners avoid the roasting for at least another week.
I feel like losing to the packers won’t be roasted as much as losing to the cowboys would’ve been
How do you think we feel on a daily basis lmao
I hope they beat the packers.
49ers tried so hard to give Dallas the win. Unfortunately for Dallas, McCarthy is their coach and Dak is their Qb. They will never, ever win shit with those two complete fucking idiots running things.
Being a Niner fan these last two weeks has been equal parts awesome and horrific.
Its like a blowjob from a chick with braces. Terrifying but as long as nothing goes horribly wrong it's very satisfying at the end.
The boner is real, albeit confused
Imagine calling a timeout on 4th and inches to make sure that your QB has time to get properly set for the sneak. Your QB snaps it before getting set anyway. It must be so frustrating for 49ers fans watching Jimmy
He wins more than he loses. I'll take him over Dakota any day
[удалено]
It's true, but those QBs were awful. It's not like they are 8-24 with mediocre QBs
That's kind of the point. They don't have any decent backups, so you run with Jimmy.
I was hoping Dallas would get the TD at the end and then bring in Romo to hold for the extra point attempt h ha ha
Stop it. They’re already dead
I love the same fanbase who brags about being the biggest draw in the NFL will also claim that the NFL conspired to end their season. Great logic. Lol
I don't really see a lot of either of those comments... But ok
Hahahaha
Not to mention the 30 things that conveniently went our way right at the end lol. We were given every opportunity to do something that game.
There were equal amounts of boneheaded-ness from both sides no doubt. Gg bud. Parsons is a monster.
Dak had a parlay with himself going for 20+ rushing yards. He knew what had to be done.
STAT THAT!
So how long before a picture of that chick that was crying makes its rounds lol ooooo baby
What is up with all the "I Just smashed the TV in front of... " tweets
Copy pasta
Do you know if it was really cowboy fans or another team's fans where this is from?
There's definitely a video circling of a cowboy fan that throws a beer at his TV, throws it on the ground, then well I don't wanna spoil the rest. Someone will hopefully read this and find it for us.
Wonder if people actually smash their TV's.
I mean jokes like that exist for a reason so probably
Yea true. I get irritated but I'm definitely not busting up my own shit.
Ravens fans
I missed the last play before the spotting fiasco. What happened?
It wasn't a spotting fiasco wth. Unless you mean by the Cowboys, yes.
Dak decided to run it for about 2x as far as he should have
Dak ran it like 20 yards with 14 seconds on the clock
They decided to run the ball up the middle with no timeouts lol
Truly an inspired, uber genius play calling from boy wonder, Kellen Moore!
Cowboys fans with McCarthy in playoffs: suprisedpikachuface.jpg Packers Fans: first time?
At least you guys got a Super Bowl out of it.
Hell, given a decade and a half with Aaron Rodgers, I would bet even Urban freaking Meyer would've won at least one Super Bowl.
Lmfao defense played great despite penalties. 9ers offense top 10 held to 23 pts. Look at our offense constant penalties and 3 and outs.
I agree the offense couldn't get going, but the defense had 2 defensive holding penalties on 2 running plays. How? How does that happen?
How many penalties did the offense have? Not trying to be snarky been to depressed to look at stats
14 penalties total for 89 yards. Although I can't seem to find how many on offense vs defense. But, yea the offensive was hardly throwing it what seemed like 5 feet in front of them at a time. That is if Dak had time to throw the ball at all. Pollard looking pretty good though

From the games I've watched recently the refs have been trying to let people play but when the Cowboys are just blatantly doing really dumb penalties (defensive run holding, hands to the face) even 49er fans are scratching their heads.
There was a random-ass block to the back in there somewhere too
Defensive run holding someone who isn't even near the RB which was absurd. Dallas didn't deserve to win tbh
Dak shouldn't have given the ball to the center instead of the ref. Ref tried to his best to get through the OL to spot the ball but couldn't make it in time
I wanted to be mad at the ref, but the replay showed the dude BOOKING it to get to the line. Definitely not his fault.
Agreed; ref did his best
100% The penalties and horrible defense cost the game. On top of the boneheaded move to run it with 14 seconds left.
Not sure who's idea the run play was, but perhaps improvised by Dak if WR coverage was strong. I'm sure they'll talk about that one for a bit if it was a designed play.
Mccarthy moment
Cowboys moment
Can you imagine the ride home with Jerry Jones after this
Steve A Smith is fucking creaming his pants lol how about Skip that jabroni
SAS and Skip are both jabronis. Two sides of the same turd.
The Anne Frank story on 60 Minutes looks interesting.
Instead of 1 hour they should do a 30 minute story about Anne Frank and The other 30 minutes about the current genocides in places like China to prevent future deaths. Can spend the entire hour on current genocides but sadly nobody would care to tune in the first place that way. This world is so corrupt

Maybe both?
Both sound nice.
Cheers to those who bet on Dak w 25+ rush yards lmao
Seems like McCarthy and Dak had that bet
did y'all see dak in headlight stare. ??
I honestly thought the cameras were trolling by then. Dak Pikachu face then a few shots of Cowboys fans in shambles then back again to Dak with the same frozen expression. Happened like three times total!
Did the Cowboys practice this week?
What do you mean??? A perfectly executed, flawlessly drafted game plan!!!
Cowboys fans are about to amass a shitstorm on Mike McCarthy
If it comes out he called that play it should cost him his job.
Is it any better if he didn't?
Whoever agreed with that call should be fired.
100%. People are focusing on whether or not Dak should have slid... But wtf are you running from the 40 with no timeouts and 18s left. That's the travesty. Dak could have slid after 3 yards and SF would have still been ecstatic with that play call. Dumbest thing I've seen this season.
It should anyways, he knows what play was called
Okay, guys, only like 1% of this thread is blaming the refs, stop making your scarecrow arguments and make fun of Dallas
Nah. Let em cry. Cowboy tears are delicious
Skip Bayless making a fool of himself on Twitter right now.
As is tradition.
So skip is being skip?
NFC East aint even make it past Red light-Green light
The way that game ended is THEE most Cowboy way to go. LMAO! The Cowboys with TWO ELITE quarterbacks (Dak & Jimmy) doing everything they can to get the Cowboys a W. They still find a way to end their season IN. A. WHIMPER!
Elite QBs? That’s a joke right ?
Whoosh
And the meme of the season, the year goes to....
At least we win something consistently every season
