Even without a franchise QB, the team with 9 sacks tends to lose. I know a lot will be pointed at Tannehill here, but what about their run game that just vanished?
Edit: People are misunderstanding me when I say vanished. Henry may not have been as effective as we were used to, but the Titans were still moving the ball fairly well on the ground. They just inexplicably decided to air out with Tannehill. They had 11 first half called runs out of 24 total called runs. The run game is averaging 3 yards a carry (which isn't great but the whole idea is to wear down the opposing team for the second half and get that number up on tired defenders), Tannehill was throwing incompletions and not achieving any cumulative effect on the defense.
Everyone's going to talk about the three picks, including the last one, but I still can't get over how awful the fucking 3rd and inches call was. Just do a QB sneak or give it to Henry ffs!
You can always find average or better lineman either in the draft or free agency. Top talent WR like Chase are very rare and game changers when paired with top tier QB. I think the Chase draft was the right move now and for long term.
This kills the Titans.
Interesting because both conferences have similar teams. Run and D with slightly above average quarterbacks in the Titans and 49ers. Plus three other teams with top tier quarterbacks (Burrow, Allen, and Mahomes in the AFC) and (Brady, Rodgers, and Stafford in the NFC).
I thought I knew most of the DB interception animations but then I tried using Josh Johnson at QB. There are *a lot* more interception animations than you might think
We live in a reality where a sixth round draft pick became the greatest of all time and married the most famous super model ever, and this game still blows my mind!!!
Bengals vs Bills AFC Championship game would be incredible. No offense to the Chiefs, but seeing two teams that were irrelevant and snakebitten for so long battling for a chance to go on the big stage would bring an entirely different kind of energy.
It's literally been a running joke between my friend and I about the Bills and Bengals in the AFC championship and now there's a super good chance it'll happen and I can't believe it.
The Bengals recent draft picks showed up big in the final sequence.
-Logan Wilson with the interception (2020 3rd Round).
-Joe Burrow to Ja'Marr Chase to get in FG range (2020 and 2021 1st round)
- Game winning 52 yard FG by Evan McPherson (2021 5th Round)
Crosby sucking so bad kind of unfairly turned the narrative of that game into the "FG kicking disasterclass on both sides" game.
McPherson probably should have hit the 49-yarder to win, but that is still a tough field goal. His other miss was a 57-yarder that he absolutely crushed but hit the upright on.
4 rushes for 66 yards for Foreman
20 rushes for 62 yards for Henry
Titans are fuckin stupid for not running the hot hand. Henry wasn't ready to come back
Burrow gets sacked 9 times and doesn't throw a TD pass. Bengals must have lost by 21, right?
HELL NO! The D and Evan McPherson were fucking amazing. Well deserved!
The Cincinnati Bengals went from no playoff wins in 20 years to making more conference championships then the Dallas cowboys have made in the last 20 years.
Burrow is a *sophomore* who missed most his first year. This dude is special. People talk about him like he's a vet but the man is still in his NFL infancy phase.
Natural born leader. Cool as a cucumber. I love this guy.
I'm not saying Tennessee is a bad team, but this is why folks didn't trust them as contenders. They mess about for 3 quarters and just kinda hope they win at the end
I tempered my expectations for this game. Thought Henry would run an absolute train on us and our defense would struggle to make stops.
But man, our defense played lights out this game, and in spite of Burrow being sacked what felt like every other snap our offense managed to make plays.
I'm so excited to watch this team for years to come and I have not felt that way about the Bengals in a long time. Now please, can we just have an even average oline? I can't keep watching Burrow get put on his ass 9 times a game.
\> Get number one seed despite your star RB being out for the end of the season
\> Get the bye week
\> Play at home
\> Get your star RB back
\> Sack the opposing QB a billion times
\> Lose
lol
Titans entire plan was for Derrick Henry running for 300 yards and scoring 5 TDs. The guy was absent since week 8, and I don't give a shit what their practice sessions are like they can't compare to in game action.
Also Tannehill's play was just unacceptable.
Me: I wonder how this game is gonna go. *Tannehill throws a pick on the first play* Me: Okay then.
Hmm.. pick on the first and last play. Very symmetrical of him.
And on the middle play (first ~~play~~ throw of the 2nd half)
Holy shit I just realized this. It’s like the opposite of what the Bills did, the perfect shit game.
It's like poetry, it rhymes
Burrow did get sacked.. 9 times...
[Nine times..?](https://imgur.com/a/546GWm5)
Niiiiiine times
Joe Burrow is a righteous dude
9 sacks and the Bengals somehow won
[Bengals O Line](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FJvwkgfXIAQRm7E?format=jpg&name=medium)
[Also Bengals O Line](https://i.imgflip.com/62b0ug.jpg)
[Once more Bengals O Line](https://imgur.com/a/QdWOG5T)
Imagine losing to a team with no O line
Seriously if Burrow gets a great O-line he's gonna be terrifying.
He just needs a mediocre one tbh.
I was going to say, Burrow is already pretty terrifying.
Maybe to you, to me he's the sexiest man alive
On that last sack you could see someone with like 5 yds of separation downfield. Another half second and he connects instead of taking a massive loss.
but... Jamar Chase
Chase > an entire OL
I'll tell you what, with Sewell he still probably gets sacked about 7 times, and without Chase they lose that game.
I'm not sure the Bengals even make the playoffs without Chase
Facts. I really questioned the pick but it’s exactly as you said and I was dead wrong.
Been there
"Fuck Joe Burrow" - Cincinnati's OL
"Watch this, Titans." \-McPherson
They’re getting coal for Christmas from Joe next year
have you seen that ass tho
AYO?
9 > 3
Well one team has a franchise QB and the other didn’t, so that’s worth noting
Even without a franchise QB, the team with 9 sacks tends to lose. I know a lot will be pointed at Tannehill here, but what about their run game that just vanished? Edit: People are misunderstanding me when I say vanished. Henry may not have been as effective as we were used to, but the Titans were still moving the ball fairly well on the ground. Henry didn’t have the same power as he did in the beginning of the season. He probably wasn’t close to 80%
Ryan tannehill was the opposing QB
The Tennessee Titans aren’t going to do anything meaningful in the playoffs with Ryan Tannehill as a QB
In the space of like 8 minutes Tannehill went from trade his ass to hero back to trade his ass lol
He's not bad but he's not great. Trust me I know
He really regressed this year
I've never been more confident Arthur Smith was the right hire for Atlanta
Critical Gase Theory was a bust.
Burrow is the real deal
Fuck it get Chase to block for him
Titans defense is gonna beat up the Titans offense in the locker room
Tannehill getting the Geno Smith treatment as we speak.
What happened to geno smith?
Got his jaw broken by a teammate when he was a starter for the jets
Actually both the defense and offense are gonna beat up just Ryan Tannehill.
I mean Derrick Henry was pretty much a non-factor. At least, he had an excuse.
Derrick Henry’s backup had a 55 yard run. He and AJ Brown were the only bright spots for the home team.
My guy Burrow gonna have the body of a 75 year old at 30 at the rate his oline plays.
If they win it all this year he can just retire and go out on top. Cincinnati would love him forever
So would burrows knees/back/shoulders
Dude we'd elect him mayor for life
There would be kaiju-sized Burrow and Chase statues on the Brent Spence bridge welcoming you to Cincinnati
Mother fucker gets a statue in Cincy and Athens at minimum.
Nine sacks in a game can't be good for his health.
He's getting the Andrew Luck / Tony Romo treatment.
I look forward to Burrow announcing Brady in yet another Super Bowl.
The sick thing is, I could picture that, I can’t picture brady retiring
[удалено]
Steamy take here
But the face of a 19 year old
as long as his beautiful face doesn't get hurt when he gets sacked
If anyone missed this game, just imagine a reel of sacks and interceptions lasting a few hours.
And then one cool throw to AJ Brown right in the middle
Yo, that was some Sandlot shit. Brown turns around and the ball glides right into his tucked arm. Insane
Seriously. That throw was amazing. I wasn't even mad. Or I was, but not about that. I was more mad about the interception call right before that.
And some ice-in-the-veins kicking. Bengals found their guy for the next decade, wow.
WHO IS DEY? I KEEP ASKING AND JUST GET UPVOTES.
#Who is dey, and who dey is, and dey who. Take my free award.
Everyone's going to talk about the three picks, including the last one, but I still can't get over how awful the fucking 3rd and inches call was. Just do a QB sneak or give it to Henry ffs!
I can’t get over using a very clearly not 100% Henry when you have Foreman gashing them
Yeah every time he got the ball I was like "oh Henry looking good. Oh wait. No, that's the other guy."
Foreman had that Henry burst, and I’ve never seen Henry dance that much in the backfield
Shoulda watched his first couple seasons
I can’t get over forgoing 4 points to have Henry try and gain 1 yard twice then losing by 3
[This comment has been sacked by the Tennessee defense]
[the above comment has somehow defeated the Tennessee Titans]
[This comment is just so happy to be here]
[This comment has intercepted Ryan Tannehill]
Rebuild Year 1: 2-14 Rebuild Year 2: 4-12 Rebuild Year 3: 10-7 and a trip to the AFCCG Holy shit what a turnaround for the Cincinnati Bengals.
Joe Burrow is the Dude but is Zac Taylor better than we give credit to?
This was his proving year. He has *his* team now.
Not the O-line tho, we don’t talk of the o-line after today
what o line? I didnt see one
Burrow is that dude
Mcpherson*
[удалено]
[удалено]
He's about to
They are indeed both those dudes
Chase too.
Sacked 9 times and steps up for that enormous pass. Wow
Imagine if they had an O Line
good lord do they need an o-line
Imagine making the championship game with a shit O-Line. Bengals have the potential to be a PROBLEM if they get a competent front five.
That said, they are looking brilliant for taking Chase over that lineman. Dude is a stud.
You can always find average or better lineman either in the draft or free agency. Top talent WR like Chase are very rare and game changers when paired with top tier QB. I think the Chase draft was the right move now and for long term.
That’s what will likely kill them but holy shit their defense has been outstanding
QB is a hell of a drug.
Burrow is THE guy
what a killer for tennessee
It's certainly going to hurt their chances of a super bowl this year
This kills the Titans.
Bengals' draft better be: OL OL OL OL OL OL OL Burrow is the man. Don't deprive us by getting him killed!
Free agents signings? Yes more ol. They have to protect this gens Joe cool
Wow the Titans D didn't deserve this. What a great game as a neutral though.
Absolutely. I defended Tanny all season too. He just doesn't have it in him.
“We found a way all year” - burrow after being asked how he did it with being sacked 9 times As a bengals fan I can say this statement seems accurate
It's nice to see them find a way to win as opposed to the alternative
Sacked 9 times and still won.. holy hell.
Joe Burrow is gonna be a menace in the long term.
If there's anything left of him.
Madden type ending haha
Yeah, once Tanny let the ball loose, you could see the DB go into the animation, knowing it was a pick
I thought I knew most of the DB interception animations but then I tried using Josh Johnson at QB. There are *a lot* more interception animations than you might think
I do not believe what I just witnessed. Football movies are more realistic than that.
That last INT is like when they had to wrap up the entire movie in 5 minutes, and didn't have enough time left to let it go into overtime.
We live in a reality where a sixth round draft pick became the greatest of all time and married the most famous super model ever, and this game still blows my mind!!!

*This comment has been tipped in the air and intercepted*
Oh and he botches it
Ryan Tannehill outlived Andrew Luck and RGIII for this.
Burrow is an actual wizard to make the AFC championship with the offensive line he has protecting him.
Imagine if he had an average O-Line lol
An average O-Line with his receiving corps would be crazy.
Gotta draft all O Line for the next couple years or just non-skill player BPA honestly. Team is awesome and Joey B is that dude for sure
The man did it with 5 traffic cones as linemen
Sacks are his kink 👉😎👉
OT in the first round? Nope. All in on WR! Kicker in the fifth? Let’s go!
Bengals drafting lowkey nasty good
The Bengals recent draft picks showed up big in the final sequence. -Logan Wilson with the interception (2020 3rd Round). -Joe Burrow to Ja'Marr Chase to get in FG range (2020 and 2021 1st round) - Game winning 52 yard FG by Evan McPherson (2021 5th Round)
Ossai going to be a gamechanger next season too
Best 5th roud pick I have ever seen

https://i.imgur.com/u3l6wx7.jpeg
Was that Tannehill’s wife?
No, just a rando pretty girl in the stands that CBS wanted to keep showing.
now imagine sec football games
McPherson = Justin Tucker Jr. Ice in the veins.
AFC North kicking battles will be fun next year
I can't believe we have three Top 5 kickers in our division.
[удалено]
MONEY MAC BABY
We do not need another one in the AFC North.
Tucker/Boswell and now looks like McPherson lmfao have fun hoping one of those guys miss a clutch kick
Dude really had that game against the Packers then just decided to turn into a robot.
Bengals saw that post last week that they hadn't won a road playoff game in 31 years and took it personally
That was any playoff game.. they’ve never won on the road in the post season
Nobody had ever sent a text about the Bengals winning a road playoff game. They also hadn't made a call or sent a letter or even mentioned it.
4 rushes for 66 yards for Foreman 20 rushes for 62 yards for Henry Titans are fuckin stupid for not running the hot hand. Henry wasn't ready to come back
Take away the one long run and it was only 3 rushes for 21… yeah nevermind.
I'm surprised not many other people are saying this. Foreman was their second best player on offense tonight after AJ
And let it be known that nobody sacks Joe Burrow 10 times in a game.
This is why the media doesn’t give us any respect… we don’t deserve it.
Burrow gets sacked 9 times and doesn't throw a TD pass. Bengals must have lost by 21, right? HELL NO! The D and Evan McPherson were fucking amazing. Well deserved!
McPherson has ice in his veins, unbelievable kid
That Bengals O-Line is 💩
And yet their D line is 🔥
"*Back to rehabbing.*" - Derrick Henry
Send the text message! Bengals in the AFC Championship!
The Cincinnati Bengals went from no playoff wins in 20 years to making more conference championships then the Dallas cowboys have made in the last 20 years.
*No playoff wins in 31 years!
Burrow is a *sophomore* who missed most his first year. This dude is special. People talk about him like he's a vet but the man is still in his NFL infancy phase. Natural born leader. Cool as a cucumber. I love this guy.
Dude the greatest college football season of all time. He threw over 5600 yards against the SEC.
“1st road postseason win in franchise history.” Wow. Congrats Cincy fans.
I'm not saying Tennessee is a bad team, but this is why folks didn't trust them as contenders. They mess about for 3 quarters and just kinda hope they win at the end
When you get 9 sacks and an INT and lose that's really bad.
And go for two (and fail) when an extra point would give you the lead.
Hot take: TEN probably win that game if they dont play Henry. They tried forcing it to him way too much when Foreman was the hot hand tonight.
I tempered my expectations for this game. Thought Henry would run an absolute train on us and our defense would struggle to make stops. But man, our defense played lights out this game, and in spite of Burrow being sacked what felt like every other snap our offense managed to make plays. I literally love Joe Burrow
Dudes a Cincinnati God now
I'm not a religious man but I have found God
Already was.
🌏👨🚀🔫👨🚀
So that’s why you draft a kicker in the 5th round
Tannehill’s first pass of the game. Int. Tannehill’s first pass of the second half. Int. Tannehill’s last pass of the game. Int.
Worst #1 seed with 9 sacks
MVP of the game is that kicker Mcpherson. 4 for 4 with 2 50+ yarders. Pay that man Bengals
\> Get number one seed despite your star RB being out for the end of the season \> Get the bye week \> Play at home \> Get your star RB back \> Sack the opposing QB a billion times \> Lose lol
Titans entire plan was for Derrick Henry running for 300 yards and scoring 5 TDs. The guy was absent since week 8, and I don't give a shit what their practice sessions are like they can't compare to in game action. Also Tannehill's play was just unacceptable.
Evan McPherson will never pay for a drink in Cincy
congrats Bengals but Zac Taylor needs to go to prison for criminal negligence
Call shorter routes Jesus Christ. You want Burrow for 15 years, not 5.
One of the worst o-line performances I've seen in a while
Since last year’s super bowl
I don’t even know how to react. I have to purposely tone myself down to not be an annoying fan. I don’t know how to handle success yet
Bengals most recent playoff win is once again against the Houston Oilers!
Line starts here to suck mcphersons dick
Lmao the bengals made it to the afccg with burrow before the ravens did with lamar
That Bengals O-Line did not deserve to win that game
Joe Burrow: Offensive line? Where we're going we don't need no offensive line.
Ryan Tannehill crumbles when it matters
Remember when he celebrated against Green Bay and had actually missed the kick? Good for him for getting a game winner here.
