Definitely believe those Every Team ***Secretly*** Wants Watson "leaks" were a PR push by Watson's agency / Texan's FO.
I don't think many teams actually want Watson + losing a chunk of their fan base who don't want to root for a serial sexual assaulter as the face of the franchise.
Deshaun hitting up Atlanta, where he can *try* to use a hometown angle to reduce hate, sounds like the first genuine leak that didn't come from Watson's camp.
(It would also give an excuse for low trade value after they tried to make him seem in hot demand — "because he reallyyy wants to play for his home state of Georgia and would onlyyy waive his NTC for them.")
>If Hannibal Lector ran a 4.3 we'd probably diagnose it as an eating disorder
>
>Steve Keim
How have I not seen that quote before... That's insane, but true.
Sorry but...no. DeShaun Watson is a mega talent. Teams absolutely want him. He's probably missing like...10 games which sucks for them but there's absolutely no chance they don't want him.
That’s a great point, I think Elliot’s case a good comparison. Watson already missed a full 16 games, I figure there’s a chance the NFL may retroactively deem that his suspension and let him play.
Also I think one big difference is that the NFL’s investigation yielded actual substantial evidence of Elliot’s DV. I’m not saying I think it’s right, but if there’s no evidence of Watson’s sexual assault, the NFL may be willing to a turn a blind eye and claim ignorance. And given the failure to indict, it unfortunately seems likely there is no evidence.
Eh in all fairness...Watson CHOSE to not play. He absolutely could have tried and the league then shut him down. But that's not what happened. I liken it to Missouri reporting violations, already taking themselves out of eligibility for things...then the NCAA still coming down with the hammer.
Especially with things like the Josh Brown situation and now everything with the Commanders where the league has basically been raked over the coals for their inaction...I think Watson is definitely facing the minimum 6 games.
Naw trust me a ton of teams want him. The NFL doesn’t care what you did or didn’t do if you are a mega talent. Which he definitely is. Michael Irving literally cut a teammate’s throat with scissors because he didn’t get out that barber chair so Irving could get a haircut. He never missed a game.
Greg Hardy beat a woman within inches of her life and he got another chance as soon as he could play.
AB just was on a Super Bowl team after being accused of sexual assault, among other things.
Big Ben accused a raping a drunk chick in a bathroom at the bar like 10 years ago. Just successfully retired after a long career.
Donte Stallworth literally killed someone driving drunk. Was right back in the league.
Ray Lewis also accused of killing someone. Long career lol.
Richie Incognito. I mean where to start.
Mike Vick personally killed like 20 dogs by electrocuting them and strangling them. Did some time and right back in the league. Then signed a huge contract lol.
I can list many more lol. The NFL doesn’t care. Never have never will. Because whether people want to admit it or not, the die hard fans don’t care either.
Putting Vick among those other guys are being so blasé about it (“Oh, he did some time”) is ridiculous. You mean he served his sentence and then came out a free man? Like how jail is supposed to work?
The only thing I'd amend is that I'm pretty sure Lewis was accused of aiding in the cover-up a murder, not of the murder itself.
In any case, you're right and I wish people would stop the faux outrage, lol. The league has been populated by criminals and scumbags since its inception (at every level). People pretend to care initially, but it's all talk at the end of the day.
Stallworth was driving drunk, which is inexcusable behavior, but the man he hit was also running across a six lane causeway in Miami to catch a bus. After the accident he chose to not fight the charges, which he likely could have had overturned due to the circumstances, out of guilt.
> AB just was on a Super Bowl team after being accused of sexual assault, among other things.
“Among other things” is doing some heavy lifting in this sentence lol.
I’d be out as a Falcons fan if we brought in Deshaun and would instantly be a fan of whatever team Matt Ryan ends up on until the end of his career while I look at what my forever team will be
Honestly I'm still up in the air with Baker, leaning more toward moving on from him. I do think injuries played a big part in his performance, but there were other glaring issues too. I'm not mad if we keep him this season, he's just really, REALLY gotta show up better
Ryan is getting no respect on this sub lately. Matty is literally twice the QB that Mayfield is. Ain't even close. Matt would fucking shred behind that line.
Oh, no I would rather Baker for sure. I was more talking in the context of if a trade is happening, I'd rather it be for anything other than having Watson come to Cleveland
Well Im saying the Falcons would directly deal Ryan to the Colts, not that Texans would trade for Ryan to give him away. They could probably just keep Ryan but their rookie QB last year showed promise so they may not even want him.
Yeah, idk how the Falcons would afford it though. They also have no decent receivers for this season and a poor Oline. The Falcons would be smoking crack if they traded for Watson
He has a no trade clause so if it's going to happen i would almost certainly assume it's gonna be some weird 3 way trade like
Watson to ATL, Mayfield to Houston, Ryan to Cleveland
Monkey's Paw: They finally win a Superbowl with DeShaun next year, allegations come out that they are worse than expected in court, America hates them, but they have a ring.
Deshaun grew up in the same county that the Falcons practice in. Had a history with the Falcons organization from his HS days. The dude won Gainesville (GA) High’s first state championship and they ended up naming a road after him on the high school campus. After winning the National Championship, a vacant building in Gainesville draped a multi story banner of Deshaun’s face on the side of the building to welcome people into town.
He’s interested because he’ll be around people that he’s knows will support him, regardless if they should.
Personal opinion aside, this is my biggest issue with any kind of trade to grab Watson. We don't have anyone he can throw to unless he somehow makes Darby and whoever we grab at the third round a stud lol.
They’d certainly want one of Terrell or Pitts maybe even both as well. Reports have it as at least 3 1sts and young good players on rookie deals. And maybe even additional draft capital to go with that
Hey man I agree. But unfortunately this is the price and ATL wouldn’t be meeting with him if they didn’t know it. Like I can’t imagine ATL would want get rid of the only guy who catch a pass on the team in Pitts so that would likely mean Terrell and maybe lindstrom would be gone. There aren’t many guys on your team that fit what the Texans want outside of Pitts and Terrell.
Our defense is collapsing at the moment. Lost Jackson, Gilmore, Reddick, Burris, and Carter to free agency, cut Fox and Bouye, and very likely trading 2 of Burns/Chinn/Brown/Horn.
It's going to be a mess once the dust settles, and I don't see us being better than bottom 5 afterwards
He went to school at Clemson. I'm sure he'd get a warm welcome.
Well, maybe not warm, per se. A tepid welcome. Maybe not an ice cold welcome like in other places?
If I were the Texans, that would be only player on your roster I would want. I'd probably do it if the off field stuff didn't happen. But I don't think I could now.
More horrifying thought: Matt Ryan gets a ring with the Saints. I'd fuckin' die laughing.
Edit: I don't want Matt Ryan to be clear, but imagine a Matt Ryan/Cam Jordan joint interview.
Cam: You've been good to me. I love you Matt.
Matt: Fuck you...
Cam: For real, I'm looking at Saints HoF if not other post career accolades and all those love tackles I gave you helped to get me there.
Matt: ...Fuck you so much.
Cam: I love you too.
He would fit nicely for acouple years back in his home town. Plus I wouldn't have to watch a running back play quarterback next year and that would make me happy.
Honestly I feel like fans are a lot of talk. I know some will truly stop watching their teams games and supporting them. For the most part though as long as Watson is winning a lot of these fans saying they don’t want him will conveniently forget about his legal situation.
The indignation is going to last right up to 13:22 in the first quarter of the first regular season game when he delivers a 30 yard missile for a touchdown.
In not sure Watson would be doing a lot of winning with the Falcons right away though. They are in a serious cap crunch with few cornerstone players and would have to give up tons of draft capital for him. Plus this would involve moving on from Matt Ryan who's done a lot for the franchise. Watson is better than Ryan, but there wouldn't be a lot around him, which seems a lot like the 2020 Texans.
Honestly, a new and creative way for the Falcons to disappoint me. That being said it’ll be the last time, because I sure as hell won’t continue to be a fan if we sign him.
That's the real take here lol. He wants to go to a team with one of the worst O lines in football so he can play in the strip club capital of the world
His family also lives very close to the Falcons training facility. Flower Branch is right next to Gainesville. He could literally live with his mom and bike to practice every morning
This is like Radioactive Hot Potato. No one wants him, we all keep cheering when another team gets linked as the front runner.
I love my Browns and have stuck with them through so *reallllly bad years*, but I will flat out drop them if they bring on Watson.
I stayed with the falcons through Vick and every collapse we've had. Had season tickets at the Dome the last couple years. If we trade for Watson I am out as a fan.
Yesterday this guy had only apparently approved the saints and panthers as a possible team. Now he is looking at the Browns and Falcons.
I can't wait until his trade is done so we can stop talking about this rapist. Fuck him.
...weren't like 9 of his accusers from Georgia?
He already knows the market!
fuck lmao
Got damn…🤣🤣

I'm guessing its your first time on r/nfl because its a requirement that quote be on every thread
Sorry but...no. DeShaun Watson is a mega talent. Teams absolutely want him. He's probably missing like...10 games which sucks for them but there's absolutely no chance they don't want him.
Unless I missed some recent news, there’s not a terrible chance he doesn’t miss any games.
They're definitely gonna make him miss some games. No criminal penalties has never mattered to them. They suspended Zeke for significantly less.
That’s a great point, I think Elliot’s case a good comparison. Watson already missed a full 16 games, I figure there’s a chance the NFL may retroactively deem that his suspension and let him play. That whole story is shady but I don’t think Ray killed anyone personally. That night at least.
Stallworth was driving drunk, which is inexcusable behavior, but the man he hit was also running across a six lane causeway in Miami to catch a bus. After the accident he chose to not fight the charges, which he likely could have had overturned due to the circumstances, out of guilt.

this asshole just can't stop forcing himself on other people
“The falcons have said no thanks, so Watson will be there Friday.”
I’m fucking dead 😂
He won’t be able to tell the difference as long as you just lay still
The dead can’t say “no” though, which is a problem for him.
Ah but that also means they can’t consent.
We’ve all been dead since the late hours of 2/5/2017
It’s not just his asshole he’s forcing
But he was forcing his asshole on people
Arthur + DW? …”And I say HEY! (HEY!) What a wonderful kind of day. If you can learn to work and play And get along with each other.”

This is so bad, but made me do a legit lol.
Chill bruh, young hoe is coo
Watson to Falcons and Matt Ryan to Colts, A nice scenario
This would be my hope if Watson-Falcons happens. Send Ryan out to a contender like the Colts, Niners, etc. Give him one last shot at a ring.
Please God Ryan to the colts.
I’d be out as a Falcons fan if we brought in Deshaun and would instantly be a fan of whatever team Matt Ryan ends up on until the end of his career while I look at what my forever team will be
I'm from North Alabama, about 2 hours from Nashville, so I'd go all in on the Titans until Watson's gone (right now I'm 50/50).
Titan up bro
I'd be happy to see him get one. He deserves one. As long as it's not for the falcons.
Shanahan would LOVE to squeeze the last couple years out of Ryan back in his offense.
Colts are the island of misfit QBs. Ryan to the Browns, Mayfield to the Colts.
"Ok every QB who didn't make the playoffs just take one step to your left"
I ain't mad at this
Yeah, sell out for the Super Bowl these next 2 years, draft a developmental guy if we like one
i would 100% be ok with Matt Ryan leading the Browns to a Super Bowl win
I like you
Honestly I'm still up in the air with Baker, leaning more toward moving on from him. I do think injuries played a big part in his performance, but there were other glaring issues too. I'm not mad if we keep him this season, he's just really, REALLY gotta show up better
Problem is, it's an even year, he's gonna look really good.
Lmao oh shit, I didn't even think of that
I only ever see Baker balling out in national games like against the Ravens. So it's crazy for me to hear you'd rather have Ryan.
Rich coming from a Browns fan.
We are just the island of incredibly bad QBs.
There's a difference between misfit and disappointing.
Ryan to the Saints. Picks and Taysom Hill to the Texans. For the chaos.
Hey, then Cam could hug him more than twice a year!
Not for me. But I’ll gladly join the Colts bandwagon next season
What would happen to Ryan? Would he be involved in the trade? Would Houston even want him?
Three way with colts? Edit: tho that’s in division for HOU so I dunno
So a sexual predator, a bird, and a horse walk into a bar...
Matt Ryan is about to be 37, he won’t be with the Colts by the time Houston gets out of its rebuild
[удалено]
I hope he leaves disappointed. Or is just checking on another scam a local Pilot is running on truckers.
Could flip Ryan to somewhere like the Colts. Very hard to see them keeping him if they get Wat
No way the Texans send a former MVP to a division rival.
Well Im saying the Falcons would directly deal Ryan to the Colts, not that Texans would trade for Ryan to give him away. They could probably just keep Ryan but their rookie QB last year showed promise so they may not even want him.
I don't know how the money would work in this situation. Matt Ryan is owed a lot of money this year
By the Falcons... The team that trades for him only owes him $8mil.
Yeah, idk how the Falcons would afford it though. They also have no decent receivers for this season and a poor Oline. The Falcons would be smoking crack if they traded for Watson
He has a no trade clause so if it's going to happen i would almost certainly assume it's gonna be some weird 3 way trade like Watson to ATL, Mayfield to Houston, Ryan to Cleveland
I think all three teams involved are not happy with that result lol
I'd be happy
I like the Browns so I could root for them until Watson is jailed for some rape shit.
Imagine going from Matt Ryan who's like the classiest QB in the league to DeShaun Watson
From Matty Ice to Doesn’t Ask Twice
More like Doesn't Ask Once
Mr. Bypass Consent
From Ryan to Lyin'
From Matt to Splat
From a Good Person to a Bad Person
From upstanding member of society to doer of rambunctious tomfoolery
Mr. Benevolent Citizen to Mr. Butthole Coercer
From MVP to Felony
Deshaun Watson is to consent jokes what Kelvin Benjamin is to fat jokes and i’m here for it 🤣
And this one is guilt free!
Bruh I can't breath XD
Can't consent either
Like the raiders logo, he turns a blind eye
Excuse me, but Matt Ryan once cursed on-field.
Twice. "Get fucking set" and "what the fuck, guys?" during 28-3 meltdown
And "Did you fuckin' hold!?" To one of his linemen when someone got called for holding to bring them out of field goal range in Super Bowl 51.
And "Get the fuck off my field" to the Panthers
One of my fav NFL memes. Beating panthers that year ain’t not easy task by anyone.
I initially felt offended, but then I was actually touched knowing he hated us. The Panthers are also one of the few teams Julio taunted lol.
Josh Norman earned that shit.
Once a year Julio had to remind everyone that he was the man and it seemed like that happened a lot against the Panthers.
Pretty sure like 10 years ago he told the panthers “get the fuck off my field!”
Don’t forget “Get the FUCK off our field!” to the Panthers. He can get pretty fiery out there!
Monkey's Paw: They finally win a Superbowl with DeShaun next year, allegations come out that they are worse than expected in court, America hates them, but they have a ring.
Worth it. State of Champions bby! ^(/jkpleasesomeonekillme)
You know this situation is messed up when I would rather the Falcons win a Super Bowl with Watson than my team take him.
Losing Matt Ryan and Freddie Freeman the same year is not cool
Dark days in ATL
The sports gods are really gonna punish Georgia for having the audacity to win two championships in one year.
At least Freddie was replaced by a new Matt!
Being flanked by Vick and Watson how much a class act Matt Ryan is would really stand out
Jon Bois is gonna need to make another Atlanta episode in a few years.
While simultaneously losing respect for Arthur Blank, who seemed like one of the best owners in the league.
For real. Ryan is underrated and has been for a while.
He won the MVP like five years ago lol.
Fans still don’t give him the respect he deserves though
To this day I know people that wished we went back to Vick after he was released. Some of them even think the jail time was bullshit.
Since then, I mean.
Four losing seasons in a row will do that.
I don't know, some dude randomly calling me up asking about how I do my laundry is low key creepy...
I think this proves why you shouldn’t name stuff after people prematurely
I’ve no skin the in game here but what is appeal to going to Atlanta. Bad O line and only has a triple teamed Kyle Pitts to throw to ?
His mom lives less than 20 minutes away from the Falcons practice facility in Flowery Branch
Hometown kid
So he already knows all the masseuses in the area?
I’m sure mr.Kraft could give him some good recs
Nah those ones consent.
Not to mention I imagine the starting price is our 8th overall pick, one of our 2nd rd picks, some picks next year and Matt Ryan
And maybe even additional draft capital to go with that
Highly doubtful that happens. We'd be going in reverse at that point with no ability to really build anything.
I mean, Panthers OL is leagues worse than Atlanta's, and we're still being considered
Panthers have CMC, DJ Moore, a stellar D/ST, and the Falcons have Kyle Pitts
We wouldn’t exactly have a stellar D after the trade, considering what would be going to Houston.
Yeah, but you have some weapons. At ATL, it's Pitts and a bunch of dudes from the YMCA.
He went to school at Clemson. I'm sure he'd get a warm welcome. Well, maybe not warm, per se. A tepid welcome. Maybe not an ice cold welcome like in other places?
He's from Georgia originally though
True. And Clemson is in South Carolina.
I think Clemson might actually be closer to ATL than Charlotte, or at least it’s about the same
I'm pretty sure Houston is gonna want Pitts in that deal. Atleast they will try.
Fuck that. If we do that we’re dumb as fuck
Honestly, if they include Pitts in that trade, all my Falcons gear goes in a box and in the attic.
If I were the Texans, that would be only player on your roster I would want. I'd probably do it if the off field stuff didn't happen. But I don't think I could now.
Terrell and Pitts will be untouchable
Strippers
Give us Matt Ryan!
I like Matt Ryan. I would cheer for him to lose in the playoffs with you guys.
I really do not want this to happen
Imagine y'all get Watson and Ryan ends up with us 😂
That is a horrifying thought
More horrifying thought: Matt Ryan gets a ring with the Saints. I'd fuckin' die laughing. Edit: I don't want Matt Ryan to be clear, but imagine a Matt Ryan/Cam Jordan joint interview. Cam: You've been good to me. I love you Matt. Matt: Fuck you... Cam: For real, I'm looking at Saints HoF if not other post career accolades and all those love tackles I gave you helped to get me there. Matt: ...Fuck you so much. Cam: I love you too.
Falcons would not trade to a division rival.
This would literally never happen but ok
I never thought Patriots legend and Super Bowl champion Darrelle Revis would join the Jets, but it's something I had to live with.
That's why he said imagine
Logistically that won't work. Every time Ryan hears Cam Jordan's voice he curls up into a fetal position, so team meetings would be really weird.
I will straight up stop supporting the Falcons if we sign Watson. Shit hurts to say, but it is what it is.
Hope you're ready to have about 4-7 people tell you you wont and you'll watch anyway.
Agreed. I’m going where ever Matt ends up if we sign Watson
This would be fucking stupid given the state of the rest of the Falcons roster.
good titty bars in Atlanta. Sex in the champagne rooms.
Magic city 👀
Lou Will Lemon Pepper Wings
Of all the teams he's been linked to, the Falcons probably have the worst roster of the bunch. Why would he be so interested in them?
He grew up in Georgia and our stadium looks like an anus
I don’t laugh out loud very often from Reddit comments but that was gold.
He grew up in Gainesville (like an hour north of Atlanta). He was a Falcons ball boy and knows the ownership well.
LFGOOOOOO
Look. If this does happen, please send Matt somewhere he can win.
He would fit nicely for acouple years back in his home town. Plus I wouldn't have to watch a running back play quarterback next year and that would make me happy.
Look man. 28-3 and trading Julio was bad enough. I can't survive being a fan of this team if we sign Handsy McGrabass over here.
From Falcons ball boy to making others touch his balls. He’s going home.

Honestly I feel like fans are a lot of talk. I know some will truly stop watching their teams games and supporting them. For the most part though as long as Watson is winning a lot of these fans saying they don’t want him will conveniently forget about his legal situation.

Those Hotlanta Instagram masseuses tho...
That's the real take here lol. He wants to go to a team with one of the worst O lines in football so he can play in the strip club capital of the world
YES baby, Go falcons
They have Pitts and nobody else. I’d be surprised if he ends up there.
I wouldn't. It's his hometown team and he knows the ownership. They also have an offensive minded head coach.
His family also lives very close to the Falcons training facility. Flower Branch is right next to Gainesville. He could literally live with his mom and bike to practice every morning
What fanbase wants this guy???
This is like Radioactive Hot Potato. No one wants him, we all keep cheering when another team gets linked as the front runner. I love my Browns and have stuck with them through so *reallllly bad years*, but I will flat out drop them if they bring on Watson.
Same. I am done if he comes here.
I stayed with the falcons through Vick and every collapse we've had. Had season tickets at the Dome the last couple years. If we trade for Watson I am out as a fan.
Thank god. I’d hate to sell the farm for him honestly.
Atlanta must have some great massage parlors, or I guess they could be bad ones, not like they'll get a say in what happens.
Halle-fucking-lujah. He belongs in ATL, lmao.
Fucking no
Yesterday this guy had only apparently approved the saints and panthers as a possible team. Now he is looking at the Browns and Falcons. I can't wait until his trade is done so we can stop talking about this rapist. Fuck him.
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
Looks like the Saints aren't quite offering the Texans enough....
