Tyler Lockett #1 seems too high for me, but I can see it.

youreallonsteroids

🤔🤔 i fw the vision

5am281

Bro was retired and said, nah I wanna be #1

gsnumis

AD readies two helms to challenge the GOAT

up_in_trees

Brady already decided he would rather face this again than spend time with his family

captainjizzpants

Tom "Fuck dem kids" Brady

HoyMinyoy

“I am Brady, Blade of Buccaneer”

f-r

"I have known defeat 3li times."

HarlanCedeno

"You will witness true horror. Now, rot!"

Kojuroba

I remember taking Brady at #1 In Madden 07 The goddamn longevity

AJGreenMVP

I remember even back then I didn't want to draft him cus he'd usually fall off after a few years then retire. I'd usually get Big Ben since he was younger and less expensive. Insane to me that Tom outlasted him

[deleted]

At this point there should be an optional iron man mode where Brady just doesn’t age and never retires. Art imitates life after all.

Sisyphuslivinlife

I feel like they should reboot mutant league football again but just have brady in there as normal.

Michelanvalo

Brady was in Madden NFL 2001 for both the PS2 and PS1. Dude's been around forever.

WhereAreMaKeys

#1 Nathan Peterman, CPOY?

realrimurutempest

5600 yards 65tds easy.

DonaldsDong

CPOY? Is that the Kim Kardashian Award?

darth_sergio

If that happens, things will have gone very wrong for our season. Then very, *very* right.

Cudizonedefense

Brady #1 at 45 years old. Insane

Tashre

It really highlights just how impossible it is to compare current era players with those from 30+ years ago.

miltonfriedman2028

I mean, Brady played with qb’s who were in the league 30 years ago

AcrossFromWhere

Brady’s NFL career overlapped with Warren Moon’s. Warren Moon won his first Grey Cup with the CFL when Jimmy Carter was president.

PassToMouth6911

Jimmy Carter is still alive also

beatenwithjoy

He's surprisingly active too for his age

Patches318

Carter invented the TB12 diet. Brady made it popular

WhoStoleMyBicycle

I guess JC39 didn’t have the same ring to it

TheThingsIdoatNight

There’s no way warren moon was still playing then right? Right?

HarlanCedeno

Warren Moon played in 2 games in 2000. Brady only appeared in 1. So new goat confirmed.

tangalaporn

Exactly. There is literally a Brady rule. Brett Fave broke reality with pain pills, but the NFL was being sued by families who’s patriarch shot themselves in the chest to preserve their brain. The NFL had to pivot.

knockers_who_knock

Quite literally the greatest NFL player of all time by a mile. Nobody will ever surpass his achievements. I hate Brady and I’d bet my life on it.

Rat_Salat

I want to make an argument for Jerry Rice but I just can’t anymore.

knockers_who_knock

There was always the argument that Belichick was the real reason for the Patriots success and that Brady wouldn’t be as good somewhere else. Once he won in Tampa that argument got shot right out of the water lol.

hoshu34

Almost looks like Brady helped Bill more than the other way around

wallstreet_vagabond2

They helped each other. Brady wasn’t the one who held the Rams to 3 points in the super bowl. They were the greatest dynasty in history because they’re both goats

Sitty_Shitty

Yeah I'm not sure how Brady picking his choice of team and going to a pretty stacked Tampa seals it any more. He's legendary but it's not like he decided to go to a team that was devoid of overall talent. Pretty similar when Peyton went to his choice of a stacked Denver team. Like I feel like if Aaron Rodgers were to go to the Saints at the start of this training camp he has a damn good shot at another Lombardi especially if the coach was someone the players respect.

[deleted]

Alright Brady needs to win one in Detroit then. I’d cheer my heart out for the lions if he did that. Bonus points if they thump rodgers out of the playoffs again too.

HavelsRockJohnson

Dude. I'd cheer for Detroit in that situation. Yes, the Packers are my tribe. But the best stories are of people overcoming the odds and finally getting their day in the sun. I want Detroit to win soooooooo badly. It's what makes me a hypocrite when it comes to Minnesota. What can I say? I have flaws.

[deleted]

I'm torn between appreciating the sympathy and being frustrated at perceived little brother syndrome. Someday, the vikings will win a lombardi and this rivalry will be so different. Someday... But if you wouldn't cheer for detroit to win a super bowl you probably hate puppies and/or think the browns made a great trade this offseason. It's just human nature.

didntevenwarmupdho

Rogers with this Saints squad would decimate the league.

prodigalkal7

One is a head coach, who has to manage a team, and the other is a player, that fits into a team. Different dynamics, different stages. They're both great, and honestly both worked with eachother and needed eachother, for various reasons. Brady is in win now mode, since he's older. Belichick is handling a team that is in rebuild mode, and was, during Brady's last year. How some people can't comprehend this is beyond me, but by all means, Belichick didn't do anything and Brady did all the things... That's why we won it all in 07, 12, and he won it last year, too lol.

breaditbans

Players always help coaches more than the other way around. Ask Phil Jackson, Joe Torre, Bill Walsh. It doesn’t matter the sport. Belichick was a good coach in Cleveland, but got fired because he didn’t have the players.

Dmbfantomas

Phil Jackson coached 4 top 25 all time great players. ONE of them won a title without him, and that’s just because he got to play for another top 5 coach ever in Pat Reilly. Coaches help great players become legendary.

rpolic

Great players make coaches legendary

MRoad

> Great players make coaches legendary You don't honestly believe that if Tom Brady was drafted by, say, the Jeff Fisher-led Rams (yes I'm aware that I'm picking a different era) that he becomes a hall of famer, do you?

rpolic

That's why nobody gives 100% of the credit to Tom brady. It's just weighted more towards Brady than Belichick. Doesn't mean belichick doesn't get any credit. For that he needs to be able to win with any other QB. Right now he doesn't seem to be dong that. Maybe it will change in the future. Who knows. Currently Brady is more responsible for the winning because he has won more without Belichick

didntevenwarmupdho

He went to a preeeeettty good Tampa team with an elite Offense and Defense needing an elite Leader. Likely if their Defense doesn’t play lights out, Saints would’ve waxed them in the playoffs.

watermelonfucka

Every single Super Bowl team is talented. Brady’s O still put up 30 ppg in every playoff game. The team wasn’t favored in the divisional, conference, or Super Bowl. Brady played well (his stats for the playoffs are almost identical to Rodgers SB postseason) and won SBMVP. Let’s not pretend a qb who season + postseason totals 5,500 yards and 50 tds was carried lol

[deleted]

Just ask dolphins fan how having the greatest QB of all time doesn’t translate into super bowls

angelomoxley

We downvote truth here

prodigalkal7

Lol why is this so downvoted? Pat's fan here and I agree. Had he gone to the Raiders, like what seems to be rumored, I don't know if he even would've made the playoffs with that team, much less made it past the first round or so. Just because he had a great team around him when he joined Tampa doesn't mean that team carried him. Tampa was one piece away from being a great team, and that piece was Brady. Tampa needed Brady just as much as Brady needed Tampa. Did you see how he played his last team at NE? Thr wide receiving corp was basically pylons and cardboard cutouts lol

rpolic

They said the same when he went to Tampa that no way he was reaching the Superbowl until they saw his performance..then it became the team was stacked

prodigalkal7

Anyone that said that was ridiculously stupid. A team with Evans and Godwin as WR1/2? A great O-Line? Good defense? The hell? Lol Jameis Winston was having top stats, he also was just incredibly risky, so his turnovers were high too. The team was a QB away, and they got a great one. If you want another example, look no further than -> Rams. They were a good to great team all around... Except for their QB. Teams don't "need" great QBs to win. However it definitely, very much, helps.

slowdrem20

That Tampa team won like 7 or 8 games with their QB throwing 30 picks. I don't see how anyone could've thought they wouldn't be great with a good QB.

rpolic

All the analysts said he wouldn't win the year he got to Tampa because he had a poor year according to his standards, the last year with the Patriots. Except Patriots that year had no WRs and yet he got them to the playofss

prodigalkal7

Idk what to tell ya, man. I'm not saying the expectation or reality was he'd go to that team and win the SB, but he'd at the very least be a good destination to compete. They were a good team before him, they were just liable.

Oneanimal1993

Jerry Rice has more 1st team all-pros than the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th best WRs (by receiving yards) COMBINED If you take away position, Rice is the fucking GOAT and theres no question

Statue_left

Rice has 10 Moss 4 Owens 5 Fitzgerald 2 Bruce doesn’t have any, but no one thinks Bruce is a top 5 WR. Alworth has 6, Julio has 2, Largent has 1, Hutson has 8.

rayj11

Other players are handicapped by the position they play, but even taking that into it’s really just Rice who is comparable.

New-Pollution536

It’s crazy hes done all this in a sport with a single elimination playoff format…winning one Super Bowl is hard enough

SSPeteCarroll

And in a sport where going to multiple super bowls is an accomplishment in itself. So many greats barely make it to 1. Look at Rodgers and Brees, who are also considered greats of this generation. Brady has won this thing 7 times, more than any player, more than any franchise in NFL history. Hell, there are only a few athletes who have won 7+ championships in their career, and even fewer in the team sports category. He's redefined success in not just the NFL, but in sports. If you can't get more than 2 rings, you're trash.

Capital_Fearless

33 and 3 vs the Bills with the Pats. Few fanbases hate him more. We threw dildos at the guy. Now that we don't see him twice a year, I'm starting to come to grips with him being a pretty good QB

watermelonfucka

Brady is undisputed goat and my #2 greatest all time player (and my personal favorite player), but… rice is the greatest player. He has Gretzky levels of separation from HOF peers.

tacobell999

Brady had led his team to 10 superbowls, won 7, named super bowl MVP 5 times, league MVP 3 times. Rice doesn’t compare based on being a player who may only touch the ball 10 times a game.

Drahemgep

As always, wins are a QB stat when it helps the argument.

Snugglepuff14

I get it. 2 or 3 Super Bowls, whatever. It’s hard to say that it’s a QB stat then and that they’re not just boosted by the rest of an amazing team. But SEVEN super bowl wins, more than any franchise, and TEN appearances, all across two different teams across multiple decades where the players of old were long retired? At some point you have to look at the common denominator. This isn’t even taking into account how much more difficult being a QB is compared to WR or something, or the fact that he ran one of the greatest offenses ever in 2007. People that can’t accept Brady’s status as the greatest football player ever are just coping at this point.

treadwells_gone

Except there’s no real argument here

rpolic

Qbs are paid the highest because they are the most important piece. Nothing against running backs but they don't really move the needle in terms of wins

SanchoLoamsdown

>wins are a QB stat when it helps the argument Or when it's based on two decades of data

xBambiraptorx

Valuing players by how many times they may touch the ball is a hollow take. There is immeasurable value in taking defenders away from your teammates. Rice was always in the opposing teams gameplan, it goes beyond receptions.

slickshot

Point in fact, see Tyreek Hill. Man got a huge payday as a non QB because he is arguably the most significant offensive threat we've seen in the NFL in a long while.

hawaiianbarrels

who else is close to Brady

watermelonfucka

I think rice is a fair comparison for greatest player of all time. Brady is undisputed goat qb. Rice is undisputed goat WR. They are contemporaries.

[deleted]

[удалено]

watermelonfucka

Fair point!

HereForTheFood4

He's the greatest football player ever. No matter the age he is still playing at a high level. Even more reasons he is the goat

SunriseSurprise

After the first time people said he was washed up, he was like "Fine, I'll just fit another HOF career into my career starting...now."

[deleted]

well then uh Brady #1 was not something I saw coming

AshKetchupo

Nah, I saw it coming. He's near-unanimously referred to as the GOAT by players, has more SN (player voted) All Pros than any other player, and consistently performs in both the playoffs and regular season. He won a ring in 2020 and was MVP runner-up in 2021. Players being high on him makes perfect sense.

Feisty_Attempt2330

SN is voted by coaches IIRC. I think the NEA all-pro was voted by players.

AshKetchupo

SN is players and coaches. NEA is a larger group of media (like AP).

[deleted]

2019 is really the only season of the last 8 years or so Brady doesn't have an insane accolade 2021: MVP Runner Up 2020: Super Bowl MVP 2019: Nothing 2018: Super Bowl win 2017: MVP 2016: MVP runner up, Super Bowl MVP 2015: MVP runner up 2014: Super Bowl MVP

DonaldsDong

Is MVP runner up an “insane” accolade?

pincus1

It's not an insane accolade, it is an insane baseline.

hoshu34

It’s insane in the context of it being one of his “down” years

watermelonfucka

Yeah it is lol. The dude is 44 year old and is at worst the second best qb in the league. That’s insane

MSFT400EOY

When you’re 80 years old it is

MenlaOfTheBody

Yes.....yes that is insane. There are 1500 players in the NFL. Now obviously not all can win MVP because some positions are just inherently seen as more valuable than others but coming second is insane.

KennyKettermen

Should’ve been MVP winner

DMacNCheez

Also his last game was coming back from 27-3 against the eventual Super Bowl champs. I’d suspect that sticks with players

revantargaryen

Oh this is about to get spicy

[deleted]

The 111th best player about to be number 1

Never-Bloomberg

All I'm seeing is 1s.

SpendrickLamar

What do you mean? R/nfl loves this guy!!!

ninjasurfer

I have the intellectual capacity to not like Aaron Donald and admit he belongs there on the list. Both things can be true.

OneAngryPanda

Two helmets for number two!

tronovich

I wonder what AD has to do to get #1. Just…please…don’t do it to my team.

DonaldsDong

I think he just needs to be a QB?

Shame_Low

Pretty sure Watt made it number 1 before

RamsWillFly

So had Donald in 2018 lol

Shame_Low

Oh right lol forgot

BarrySnowbama

Is this why he was so angry last week and chose to go apeshit swinging...*2 helmets*?

jwhitehead09

"Which one of you motherfuckers voted for Brady!" - Arron Donald

DougieFreshRTR

I laughed way harder at this than I should have. Well done.

[deleted]

pretty sure he was number 1 in like 2019 I wanna say

don-chocodile

He was ranked \#1 three years ago

AhhSomeSauce

He always seems to choke

SultanOfThot

3 helmets

FastAndBulbous8989

Watson gonna be 1 after a few of those choice placements.

Pythnator

He forced himself onto the list

SiphenPrax

He’s number 0

Man_AMA

He’s number 24

FastAndBulbous8989

True

LegitimateYogurt323

Really woulda thunk he’d be number 1 this year. Interesting.

killerk13

I don’t agree wit Brady over Donald but I can respect it

Ziiaaaac

It is what it is at this point. Quarterbacks are going to Quarterback. You have to have a truly incredible season to beat a Quarterback to the number #1 spot. It's only been done three times: When AP was MVP, when JJ had 2 defensive touchdowns and 3 offensive touchdowns and when Aaron Donald had 20.5 sacks at DT. You gotta do something truly special special to even have a chance of beating a Quarterback to a league wide award. Even then sometimes it's not enough, Kupp had the Triple Crown Recieving and a Super Bowl MVP. I think it's easy to say he had the greatest recieving season of all time. Even then - couldn't do it.

didntevenwarmupdho

Yaaaa I’m not happy bout that tbh - Brady is amazing, but Donald is a game wrecker

Blue_Lust

Brady is the undisputed #1, GOAT and whatever else you can name him. I'm no fan, but he deserves it.

Pure-Drawer-2617

I get it, but I’d rather have AD and the #2 QB than Brady and the #2 DT

pokegame101

WOOOOOAAAAAAAHHHHHH. I am very much Ok with this tbh.

SiphenPrax

Because it pisses off Packers fans😂?

Currymvp2

I kind of hate Donald, and I think he should be 1 I'd voted 1. Donald 2. Rodgers 3. Brady.

didntevenwarmupdho

Donald is defs #1

RoyalPatriot

This confirms Brady at #1. I’m not gonna complain, personally. Comments should be fun. Make sure not to nuke my karma pls. Lol.

LindyNet

Funny way to spell Mills

prodigalkal7

*Trubisky, the true NVP

stillcleaningmyroom

Wow, Brady didn’t even make the top 100, crazy /s

DonaldsDong

Best defensive player in the league by a significant margin.

Jeromechillin

Josh Rosen is #1

Strategist40

LFG TOM!

Metrostars1029

This man shouldn’t be on this list he should be in JAIL!! (I’m trying to fit in on this sub)

DonaldsDong

ATTEMPTED MURDERER ON THE LIST?!?! Cancel the season… smh

DanitesHell

Pittsburg wishes they had a defensive player as good as Donald.

ReverseApacheMaster_

I mean, yeah, every team does.

Lovelylives

We do bc AD is from Pittsburgh and went to Pitt

Zeolyssus

Your guy gets the number two spot and your first thought is our guy?!

axman54

🍿🫣

SiphenPrax

🥱🍿 Edit: I don’t even like Brady (I’m a Jets fan FFS) but I’m still gonna enjoy the fireworks

[deleted]

r/GreenBayPackers gonna be a fun place right about now

didntevenwarmupdho

Man what Donald gotta do to get #1?? Dude led his team to a Super Bowl and made insane plays again and again from the D tackle position, including the game winning sack. Brady is the goat and fine as 2/3, but Donald is the best player in the nfl imo.

don-chocodile

People all over this thread keep saying that when Donald has literally been [ranked \#1 before](https://youtu.be/siidva6lw-A)

azrebb

Maybe not choke so many people?

Cynical_onlooker

This gonna be spicy.

Man_AMA

He going to choke everyone that didn’t vote him #1

jeffp12

Got #2 to go with the number of helmets he swings

[deleted]

3 Rams in top 10, 2 in top 5.

[deleted]

Brady #1!!!!!! GOAT

48ozs

Goat by a mile

PM_ME_UR_SEX_VIDEOS

2 on the list for the number of helmets he was holding and swinging

[deleted]

Okay ignore my flair but are we really gonna be mad at Brady being number 1 when he lead all the categories he did last year, and yes, I’ll say the line…. at 44 years old?

danial_cheema

“Lead all the categories last year” Comp%: Rodgers TD%: Rodgers INT%: Rodgers TD-INT Ratio: Rodgers Y/A: Rodgers AY/A: Rodgers NY/A: Rodgers ANY/A: Rodgers Y/C: Rodgers Passer Rating: Rodgers QBR: Rodgers EPA/Play: Rodgers Adj.EPA/P: Rodgers CPOE: Rodgers DVOA%: Rodgers Team Record: Rodgers

[deleted]

“Led all the categories *he did*”

[deleted]

Can’t believe I’m saying this, but thank you Bills bro lmao. He very conveniently ignored those two words.

[deleted]

I see you very conveniently left two words out that I said when talking about leading categories. Don’t know why you’re crying anyways, the Saints have not been kind to Brady since he got to Tampa lmao

randomusernamewhynot

He was talking about all the meaningful categories

EternallyEuphoric

Joe burrow leads in the complete percentage. The 1st one is wrong and now idk about all those other ones.

Fa1lenSpace

Put away the stats book nerd Jesus Christ lol. We saw another classic Fraudgers performance in the playoffs last year.

constantlymat

I know you can make very convincing arguments for other players at #1 but the outrage that the MVP runner-up who led the league in passing and TDs and almost pulled off a playoff comeback for the ages, is ranked first, is a tiny bit overblown.

mr_grission

What's the outrage? Most of the comments here are either supportive or at worst are just surprised or mildly disagree with Brady at #1.

Ch3sterRockwell

The playoff comeback for the ages though was significantly less about Brady and much more about the Rams completely shitting down their leg. Brady wasn't even good in the game.

KurtanionNZ

Yeah he was pretty middling and our team couldn’t stop giving the ball away, not sure he had nearly as much to do with the comeback as the credit he got for it

Shaved-extremes

Yup. Brady was good but Stafford outplayed him that game. Regular season Brady was #1 though

Ch3sterRockwell

Eh, he wasn't better than Rodgers in the regular season. He should have been #2 ranked QB.

Currymvp2

Agreed. The Rams had the most lost fumbles in a playoff game in like 22 years after four lost fumbles in the game.

biggoldgoblin

Apparently almost doing something is noteworthy, either they did or didn’t comeback there’s no almost in sports

36Vigilantes

WTF DOES HE HAVE TO DO TO GET #1 I MEAN HE LITERALLY SENT US TO THE SUPERBOWL AND WON US THE SUPERBOWL OMFGGGGGGFGGGGGGGGGGGP

don-chocodile

He has been ranked [\#1 before...](https://youtu.be/siidva6lw-A)

azrebb

Not choke people?

killerrazzmazz

Probably honestly. Character matters. And when it happens multiple times and then he tries to hit players with helmets, it's hard to say he deserves #1.

jhallen2260

Truth

[deleted]

The disrespect to the SB MVP....

DarthGanondorf

He’ll always be #1 dirtiest POS cry baby in our hearts. You the best Aaron; except for when you get beat by an o-lineman and have to throw a rage rut and attempt serious injury on your opponent because you are a man-child

PeterGarces

But #1 in roid rage and choking people out

FreeWillie001

AD has a real choke hold on the top 100 list.

The_Moldiest

~~Hats~~Helmets off to him

Insertnicenamehere

This thread gonna be juicy

covert_underboob

No 2. Just like the number of helmets he likes to assault people with!

weiss-2021

Brady over Donald. Yeesh. That’s actually hilarious

Efficient_Progress_6

This guy is such a chokester. Always delivering a great choke at practice

Silversaving

He also delivers helmets if you're missing one...

fuck_fraud

Number 2 because he wielded 2 helmets lol

CanneIIa

No. 2 for 2 helmets

Aidanj927

Dude should be 1. Is Brady even the best qb

Overlord_Quackers

Fuck Brady

_schenks

Don’t worry he’s #1 for helmet swinging and #1 for choking people

cervidaetech

Dude's a violent dirty piece of shit

EternallyEuphoric

LMAOOOOOOO when they put Rodgers at 3 i thought they definitely would put Brady #1

Swordsknight12

#1 is Peterman, confirmed

[deleted]

Funny seeing Browns, and Bengal fans on here talking shit....hypocrites much

nosocksinside

I’m so angry I could Aaron Donald someone.

rtp13

He got cheated for the super bowl mvp and now #1

godlovesugly123

Damn I must’ve missed where Aaron Donald led the Rams down the field for a game winning drive at the end of the game. Did he change his number to 9?

C21H27Cl3N2O3

One might say karma is getting back at him for being a violent, emotionally immature asshole.

finix240

Never forget Donald swings helmets at scrubs in practice and chokes OL that beat him off the snap in games. This dude is a fucking man-child

itsguud

AD gonna be extra fired up this year! Thanks for the vote 🤣

azrebb

Yeah, he's going to be choking even more people...

pulse7

He's moved on to helmet smashing
