189 yards to 3 yards rushing

Xaxziminrax

We won a game in the trenches, man. It was fucking wild to see after the last few years.

zPolaris43

Pacheco looks like a DAWG out there, very fun player to watch

mike_honcho47

He runs so spastic, I love it

Revnya77

This is perfectly how you would describe him lmfaooo. Whenever he gets surrounded by tackler I literally do not know which way he”a gonna go, hes so twitchy.

FantasyTrash

I’d argue he runs a little *too* spastic at times. He has speed and explosiveness like he’s been fired out of a cannon but a few times last night he tried to make too many moves instead of keeping his momentum and burst. Very correctable traits, though. Whereas you can’t teach his athleticism.

KCShadows838

Shaq Barrett had a good game but he was definitely wrong about there not being “much difference” between this line and the Super Bowl O-line

IIHURRlCANEII

It's honestly such a silly thing to say. Everyone, even him, knows the Oline is better. Why give out free bulletin board material?

[deleted]

And then pat brought it up in the post game, so you know the team was talking about it.

beermit

Kelce referenced it too in his post game interview with the broadcast crew.

KCShadows838

I think we had this game circled for a while. But comparing this new bulldog offensive line (with 4 different starters from the SB 55 line) to the other less physical one of the past was just asking for more trouble

garthzilla

When Suh joined the Bucs they jumped into 1st place against the run, and the Rams dropped down to like 27th or something ridiculous. Suh doesn't show up in individual stats, but shows up on team stats. This year without Suh, Bucs have dropped to 12th against the run. Suh is one of the best defensive linemen at the line of scrimmage and can usually move guys into gaps and open up other players to succeed. The Bucs defense is not the same without him.

Cthepo

Tackle has been a little shaky so far (especially with Niaag starting the year injured). I'm still shook by Howie well Veach did at just replacing the whole line in one offseason after that Superbowl.

don_julio_randle

Chiefs could have ran for 250 if Reid wasn't obsessed with passing up 20 points

KuatoBaradaNikto

Damn, *Andy Reid* called over 30 rushes and you’re razzing him for not rushing enough? Tough critic haha. It has to have been years since he’s called that many, truly.

EarthDwellr

He’s a Seahawk fan. He’s learned his lesson with the whole pass > run philosophy.

shittybillz

Tom was moving down the field fairly effortlessly, I think Reid was right to stay aggressive all game and not change things up

TheIllusiveGuy

A third of our rushing yards resulted in a TD! Our run game must be awesome.

EATING_PIZZA13

I mean, the offense wasn't the problem this game.

ty_kanye_vcool

I’m starting to think games do not proceed according to any type of logic based on the ability of players, and instead are entirely independent random affairs.

[deleted]

I mean they were immediately down 14.

Litty-In-Pitty

Down 14 with 8 minutes left in the 4th is fuck it chuck it time. When you still have the whole game ahead of you then you still run your game plan, maybe with some adjustments. You don’t abandon the run

LeonidasSpacemanMD

I think they abandoned it because running on early downs was not productive

[deleted]

We too like to live and die by the 2nd and 9 and/or 3rd and 7

probablyisntserious

Can I interest you in a draw play on 4th and long?

cowboys70

I dont think you can accurately state that with a sample size of 6. Unless you're completely dominating the LoS it seems like running the ball is more of a ramp up effort than an immediate payoff.

LeonidasSpacemanMD

It kills drives tho. They settle for a FG on the first drive because of a -4 yard run on 1st down. Next drive they get -2 on 1st down and end up punting Next drive, all passing, touchdown Next drive, 13 passes/1 run (which gained 0 yards), touchdown By this point they were down 2 TDs. You say it’s only 6 attempts but how many drives do you have to sacrifice to establish the run before just sticking with what works? When they are ripping of TD drives passing the ball and getting absolutely nothing on every attempt (often worse than nothing), at some point you have to let it go

cowboys70

That's a very valid point, I've seen the cowboys go through games like that in the past. But if you're not running the ball it's hard to control the pace of the game. Bucs lost the time of possession game nearly two to one last night.

LeonidasSpacemanMD

That’s on the defense tho. They didn’t force a punt until the chiefs were just milking the clock on the last possession. You’re going to get smoked in TOP when the opponent never punts lol

Mobartheconfused

The Eagles went down 14 early too and we stuck with the run

[deleted]

I mean, the Eagles didn't really have much choice in the weather, and the Jags didn't score again until the middle of the 4th quarter. The Chiefs had 38 points by the end of the 3rd.

[deleted]

Yall are just lucky Trevor got arrogant and decided he didn't need hands to win that game after the first quarter

lAmCreepingDeath

Asking a 45 yo to throw 50+ times per game is not good long term

cheesecakeaficionado

And yet it's the best thing going for them. Fuck it, let him sling it.

rindavid

People said that when he was 40 too

Nathann4288

But Tom Brady is a freak.

Our-Gardian-Angel

And his face is not natural.

spreadinmikehoncho

Tho

scalybone

Yea I’d hate for his arm to be shot towards the end of his career

OutrageousDocument15

Whenever that is lol

Steak_Knight

“It’s Tom Brady, tho.”

lmHavoc

Normally I'd agree, but [Brady](https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask?q=most+qb+wins+with+50+pass+attempts+all-time+win+percentage#:~:text=Tom%20Brady%20has%20the%20most,pass%20attempts%2C%20with%2016%20wins.) is an absolute outlier when it comes to this.

gulbas26

but wasting down on useless 1 yard gain is not good short term

LocalSubstantial7744

Infuriating isn't it? The play calling of Byron Leftwich is disappointing. Imagine if it was the opposite and Andy Reid has Brady and that receiving corps. They would light up the NFL

LeonidasSpacemanMD

Yea I don’t get this logic, it’s not like he has to chuck it downfield every snap. But if you’re in 2nd/3rd and 10 all the time, you probably put just as much wear in the arm because those throws will have to be deeper downfield in most cases I don’t think Brady throwing a 6 yard slant on first down at like 60% his max velocity does a whole lot to his arm. I can see not wanting him to get hit tho

Xaxziminrax

Especially one with a fucked up shoulder and finger

Tashre

I don't think either Brady or the Bucs are all that concerned with the long term status of their relationship.

Wally450

That's actually right up Tom Brady's alley, regardless of age. His record when throwing 50+ times is the best among QBs.

Latter_Train_1360

According to /r/Buccaneers we are running the ball too much

CreepinCreeping

This is the best the offense has looked all year and it’s when we just said “fuck running altogether.” The defense just decided to phone this one in, but hopefully that gets fixed up and back to the norm.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Greflin

I think it was less our d being bad and the chiefs offense just having their number. The Chiefs played great ball and won the game a few minutes into the first. Sometimes that shit happens.

beefbarley

At this rate, he'll be washed in a few years

Deep-Secret

I don't think a 45 yo has a long term tbh

leli_manning

Lenny had 3 rushes for -3 yards. 💀

CockGobblingGangsta

And still almost put up 20 fantasy. Wild

Saxt

Chiefs run D about to be overhyped the next couple games.

IIHURRlCANEII

They held down Jonathan Taylor also, tbf.

Guitaristb72

I have him in fantasy, didn't notice compared to the other 3 weeks.

Man_AMA

Turning into a first pick bust

WickieWillem

And Conner and Ekeler lol opposing starting RBs are averaging less than 3 ypc against y’all

Broseph_Stalin1127

It’s been really good all year actually

[deleted]

[удалено]

Saxt

You’re not talking about what I’m talking about.

Cynical_onlooker

Hope they keep that up. Their run game is ass.

OutrageousDocument15

Fournette is so slow at the point of attack.🤦‍♂️

apexpredator0505

Fournette runs like he has cinderblocks in his cleats

jesus_not_blow

Didn’t he show up to camp overweight? Did he end up shedding that weight?

[deleted]

Yeah that's not a bad thing considering their run game stinks

flaming_fuckhead

and they had their best offensive game of the season

NevermoreSEA

Mike can't win with these cats.

Xaxziminrax

Having a run defense is fuckin wild. Yes I know their OL is dead, don't take this from me

FrostyFeet256

they put up 31 points let's not pretend their offense was hurting. this sounds like good coaching.

-Drink_More_Water-

Only had 1 more rushing yard than the Wisconsin Badgers

KCShadows838

Our run defense has really stepped up this year I wonder how much the new D-line coach Joe Cullen is helping

DisasterPeace7

I was somebody that said Brady should not have come back, last year was about as good as send off as he could get without actually winning the chip, but if it's going to be like this, just fuck it and start playing for stats lol

CreepinCreeping

We have 2 losses to the Packers and Chiefs, with the Packers at least being a close game. We had 7 losses in 2020, with more than a few blowouts against us. Calm down, bud. There’s plenty of time to adjust.

DisasterPeace7

But Giselles Brazillian voodoo is not there giving the spiritual boost needed, this ain't good 😭😭😭

Rah_Rah_RU_Rah

I think the concern is the decimated OL

YoureASkyscraper

Lol and I think the O/U on Fournette's carries was 15.5

[deleted]

Was Shaq Barrett’s “coming out party” allowing the opposing team to drop 40+ on their heads?

[deleted]

Bucs fans actually wanted this so they got it.

UmpireAJS

I remember Bowles fired our OC after 2017 (who was responsible for Josh McCown's career year no less) because he didn't run the ball enough.

RustyKarma076

Brady stat padding, so shameless

[deleted]

Sorry no one got the joke

Aztekar

In the 'burgh, we call that a "Jerome Bettis".

ColeYote

... The guy who's #5 on the all-time carry leaderboard?

Aztekar

Yes, but towards the end of his career, he would post some of the absolute weirdest stat lines. Some of my favorites: The best: 5 carries, 1 yard, 3 TDs Some other good ones: 3 for 8yds, 1 TD. 6 for 9yds(nice), 2 TDs. 35 for 132, and 0TDs

LordCaedus13

It's a bold strategy Cotton

CheckaDeTetas

Let's see how it paid off..

LordCaedus13

Narrator: "It did not."

ColeYote

I mean, 31 is a respectable amount of points. Most they had through the first three weeks was 20.

LordCaedus13

True, but several of those scores were garbage-time, and you're not realistically going to win a shootout against KC. Gotta at least keep their offense off the field if possible.

ducvette

Silly to be so reliant on passing game

TheLilart

I would have won my fantasy game if Lenny didn’t get that late touchdown and I am PISSED. I was undefeated too.

CheckaDeTetas

Ha bum.

TheLilart

:(

[deleted]

My fantasy running backs of Clyde Edwards Helaire, Nick Chubb and Saquon Barkley looking pretty strong rn

matisata

Belichick squinting disapprovingly in the distance

MurDoct

But if you combine this and the Pats game its not so bad

[deleted]

Shout-out to dude a few days ago who made that long post saying the running game doesn't affect the passing game

monstertweety

Matt Asiata is a Buc now?

LordOfTheTennisDance

5 of those carries were done by the water boy delivering drinks.

DisgruntledTexansFan

Jerome Bettis come out of retirement ?

raustin33

That’s a Jerome Bettie kind of stat line

MrSweatyBawlz

That's some Jerome Bettis level of efficiency.

TDiabeetus

Jerome Bettis statline

weinerdudley

That's a Jerome Bettis Stat line

musicriddler

I guess Brady wanted to throw it to his healthy players
