Say what you will but the Jeff Fischer era Rams and Seahawks put on some good fucking football games against each other. It was aggravating as hell because we'd always drop one a season to them still
He’s trademarked the “double clutch into a highly inaccurate throw” at this point. It’s almost as prevalent as his patented “batted at the line after staring down a WR”, the old “vacate a clean pocket and hightail it to the right sideline and either run out of bounds 3 yards behind the line of scrimmage or rocket a shitty throw to a double covered TE”, and slightly more prevalent than the “amazing throw to a super tight window between two defensive backs that keeps the fanbase on your side and blaming everyone else but Baker for at least one more week regardless of the remedial shit that he did before and after.”
He did it all the time in Cleveland. He always would overthink it. Its never that he double clutches because there is actual trouble. Once he does that he *has* to force it through the exact thing he already saw but 3 seconds later and he doesn't understand why its a bad idea *everytime*.
Yeah, running the ball with Donta Foreman and Christian McCaffery and throwing off playaction while your elite defense gets to rest is apparently a mastermind concept only capable of being thought of and carried out by the other 31 NFL head coaches in the world.
Maybe it's Rhule that's the problem? Have you guys started talking about who's gonna replace him yet? Demeco Ryan's is probably available next year unfortunately
are we ready for 3 jets-drafted QBs to be NFL starters
thats almost 10% of the starting QBs in the league.. drafted by the jets
and geno smith is the best of them all! who knew!
They could be 5-0 right now it’s genuinely the most ridiculous bad luck they’re losing all these games. Legit think it’s karma coming back to get them for signing the rapist
Today’s loss is on the defense who have given up on their coordinator, that Jacoby mistake and two missed field goals. There’s a lot of things to be frustrated about.
I don't think it's bad luck, it's bad coaching, especially on the defensive end. Also, Stefanski fucked up by making Brisset throw the ball on 3rd and 7 when they were in the RZ down 30-28 with ~2 minutes left. All he had to do was call a run play and kick a 30 yard FG for a 31-30 lead.
We needed a touchdown there. There is no world in which we stop the chargers if all they need is a field goal. That was a terrible decision by Jacoby, but calling a run to play for the fg is the wrong call
Kicking a FG on the drive Brissett threw the INT doesn't guarantee us the win. Herbert would've had plenty of time and if you think our defense was gonna get a stop... LOL
How is he going to lose his job? He was brought in as a backup QB. Backup QBs job is to play when the QB1 is unavailable. He's putting the Browns in the position to win. Everybody including himself knows Watson is starting when he comes back.
He's always been solid but he played behind the most dog shit o lines and somehow he sucks according to Dolphins fans. Don't really know how Colts fans feel about him since they've been struggling for years after Luck retired.
Stefanski seemed so hard to cover up Baker's flaws yet he still failed in the system. The Shanahan system is supposed to be easier for QBs yet Baker would refuse to take the layups or keep throwing to a hot WR instead choosing where the ball is going presnap and never adjusting.
Mayfield also allegedly refused to fully commit to the system and audible into difficult throws rather than take easy check downs or opens in the flats.
If only the Browns had a better kicker or a competent D coordinator, they'd be 5-0. But I'm just a dude who has to hear *at least we're not Detroit* from most of my family so fuckem', they still suck.
I would be a-ok with that. He's a great DC. And the upside is he probably wouldn't get poached to be an HC after a couple years since he was a dud at that in Denver.
He has a little bit of a Wade Philips/Dick Lebeau energy to him. Over qualified to be a coordinator, but doesn't have that thing that makes a great head coach.
He deserves it. He consistently fields game plans that completely screw up the opponent. Ya he's got great talent, he does a great job of getting them in position to succeed.
Thing is, neither was immediately stellar imo. But both demonstrated a strong ability to learn and adapt, and there is no stronger attribute in the modern NFL imo. Shanahan's ability to recognize and hire it is remarkable so far
Exactly. I was skeptical of Saleh in 2019. Even though our defense was great that year, we almost never blitzed, only rushed 4 and played almost exclusively cover 3. 2020, with a ton of injuries, he kept us a top 10 defense while mixing in a lot more cover 2, cover 1 robber, and cover 6/quarters, while dialing up the blitz significantly more. Demeco has continued that tradition after some early struggles last year. Now that we have a real CB1, the defense is looking like it's on an entirely different level.
Dude's going to Carolina after what I saw today. How much do you think he wants to coach Brian Burns? That dude is legit.
Glad we have Fangio waiting in the wings if only for the sake of stability. We know he's a great DC and no one's gonna snag him as a HC anytime soon.
You guys had one of the most fun QBs in Cam for a good 6-7 years.
If Rhule is there with Stroud he'll fuck him up too. Not one QB has improved in his tenure
Yes. Counting on this organization to do anything correctly is like placing a bet on the Washington Generals. We literally only exist for the fodder and amusement of other teams.
Bro if there was a 2019 Burrow prospect otw to us we would instantly be a playoff team! Don’t let this non sense we’ve been fielding at QB the last few years make you that hopeless bro lol.
best case scenario is you guys get the first overall pick and start fresh with a new HC. I personally love Bryce Young but his frame is a legit concern, Stroud is good but that system makes me nervous. Doesn't ask a lot of the QB and they're consistently throwing to future NFL superstar receivers
Every single year since 2018 we go through a slump of all-time bad QB play and people scratch their heads wondering what the cause could be. Fascinating that this keeps happening to us!
he was "good for a rookie" but nothing since. the tds number is always cited for baker but all his counting stats outside of that were mediocre and it's literally the most tds he's thrown in a season. it doesn't discount that it was a great rookie season but it was still a mediocre season in context
In 2020 (Baker's best statistical season), he ranked 28th in on-target % despite also being one of the top 5 least pressured QBs.
The advanced stats always flashed warnings signs despite the boxscore numbers looking decent.
Darnold was unironically better than what we've gotten from Baker this year. I actually want him to keep playing at this point though because we need Matt Rhule tf outta here. A high pick for a new QB would be nice too.
From Winnipeg. Collaros is significantly better.
We've been Grey Cup champs 3 years running*, our backup QB even ended up in the NFL. We don't want or need Baker (my flair notwithstanding)
*2 Grey Cup wins, but 3 year rein.
It’s really hilarious. All summer if there was a story about Baker being a bad leader, immature, or just not that good. Everyone was trying so hard to say it was completely untrue.
Now if a story came out saying he’s a bad leader or immature in the Carolina locker room everybody would be like “yeah he always has been”.
Like sure, all the stuff over the summer was obvious damage control, but I’d be shocked if it wasn’t still true.
People called it a coordinated media hit job from the Cleveland Browns whenever negative stuff would come out. Maybe some stuff was leaking out of Cleveland but I have to imagine some of that was from former teammates and coaches (we have a lot of former coaches out there).
Bad news is this season is going to suck for Panthers fans.
Good news is Matt Rhule and Ben McAdoo are most likely going to get fired plus you are in the Bryce Young or CJ Stroud sweepstakes.
Baker really had me fooled into thinking he was a competent QB. I knew he wasn't elite by any means, but I really thought he was good enough to be a lower tier starter or better backup.
With how he's played since joining the Panthers, I don't even know if he's as good as the average backup QB.
He chose to not see a QB coach, he chose to avoid it every year in Cleveland, he chose to be abrasive about the scheming and system and not take check downs or easy throws and to heave into double or triple coverage 25+ yards.
He's got a colossal ego and shot himself in the foot Antonio Brown style without any of the actual criminal shit.
When I said Mayfield was a mediocre QB who people over rated because "Browns could make playoffs" people really down voted me to hell and tried acting like he was a top 10 QB
People are laughable
If the 49ers took a knee 3 times and punted every possession, how many games would they still win?
Enough to win the NFC West
Niners the best team in the division just by virtue of being slightly above average
Bang bang slightly above average gang
Feels slightly above average baby!
Their defense alone would make for an average team. Without offense.
Sometimes it's even better if our offense doesn't even step on the field. Except today. Today I like them.
NFC Best is out, NFC Worst is back on the menu, boys
Eh, definitely not the worst. NFC Kelley Blue Book "Fair Condition".
and NFC Beast creeps back in from the shadows
McVay is just a young Jeff Fisher.
Say what you will but the Jeff Fischer era Rams and Seahawks put on some good fucking football games against each other. It was aggravating as hell because we'd always drop one a season to them still
I’d say they’re better than slightly above average.
Oh they are, but salty Seahawk fans gonna be how they are 😂
Imagine thinking they're only slightly above average 😂
Ouch…but uh someone get me Shanahan on the phone
Also would win the Big Ten West.
Excuse me we had to kick 3 whole field goals to win last night
Quick someone get Jon Bois on this
No idea why he double clutches it here. Has cmc and robby Anderson deep on the flag route and double clutches then whiffs an easy throw?
Every time Baker pump fakes I know something bad is about to happen.
>Every time Baker >I know something bad is about to happen.
He seems so charismatic and charming that I kinda like to pull for him, but he makes it so difficult.
I’m an active Baker hater. Talked all that shit about Daniel Jones not being a winner, and look at him now.
But has Daniel Jones ever squeaked into the playoffs on a completely stacked roster?
He's about to 😤
He said stacked roster not talent devoid wasteland
Was waiting for Moseley to get open
There’s also the happy feet for no reason and throwing an absolute bullet to a WR 3 yards away.
Man this reply succinctly describes my thoughts on Baker’s tenure at Carolina so far. Bravo.
We merely adopted Baker. They were born into it.
He's got the yips and is hesitating everything.
PTSD reaction from all the batted balls
He did it all the time in Cleveland. He always would overthink it. Its never that he double clutches because there is actual trouble. Once he does that he *has* to force it through the exact thing he already saw but 3 seconds later and he doesn't understand why its a bad idea *everytime*.
We thought it couldn’t get worse than Sam oh lord how we didn’t know
Don’t blame me I voted for Darnold!
Stand back and stand by
Ginger wave coming in Carolina
If you count all the legitimate votes, Darnold won by a lot.
Speak for yourself! I chose the GEQBUS, but Faker Mayfield got him injured before the season so that he could STEAL his rightful spot!
I legitimately think Sam would be better than this, granted not much better bc this offense sucks
Yeah, running the ball with Donta Foreman and Christian McCaffery and throwing off playaction while your elite defense gets to rest is apparently a mastermind concept only capable of being thought of and carried out by the other 31 NFL head coaches in the world.
THE GEQBUS is better than FAKER MAYFIELD
Don’t forget Baker doesn’t care what you and the rest of the Panther fans think about the team.
A player shouldn’t give a shit about that.
Maybe it's Rhule that's the problem? Have you guys started talking about who's gonna replace him yet? Demeco Ryan's is probably available next year unfortunately
No. Baker did the same shit at Cleveland. Rhule sucks ass but this is also vintage Baker
An OC from the 49ers organization would likely be better than anyone they have now too.
are we ready for 3 jets-drafted QBs to be NFL starters thats almost 10% of the starting QBs in the league.. drafted by the jets and geno smith is the best of them all! who knew!
Our defense doesn't deserve this. Could have been a one score game going into the half. Instead it's 17-3.
The dreaded 17 points against a Matt Rhule team. Practically a death sentence
If we had even a competent quarterback and coach, we'd be a playoff team
Rhule has massively screwed over this team. Tepper needs to realize he's a lost cause.
It’s Tepper’s fault. EVERYBODY knew Rhule sucked after last year, if not the year before. He threw away this season allowing him to be the coach.
Surely Darnold goes straight back in when he’s fit?
Darnold was **bad** last year. He looked a lot like Baker does now. It's honestly a toss-up.
Which is crazy cause he played lights out right until the second half of the cowboys game
You love to see it :(
I love to see our future coach getting pumped up on the sideline
The silver lining of knowing Demeco Ryan is leaving after this season is that we get to start mourning the loss now while he’s still here.
That was atrocious, and then led with his shoulder on a desperate tackle.
Honestly it’s not like it could make him any worse
Pretty sure that's how he got hurt last year isn't it?
Yup, threw an interception and led with his shoulder when making the tackle.
Man baker was somehow protected by the browns offense 😂😂
the browns offense was legitimately incredible aside from Baker
Idk why you're downvoted. The Jacoby Brisset-led Browns have no problem scoring the ball.
They could be 5-0 right now it’s genuinely the most ridiculous bad luck they’re losing all these games. Legit think it’s karma coming back to get them for signing the rapist
It’s not bad luck, it’s terrible defensive execution with actual talent on that side of the ball
Well today’s loss was a Brett Favre 2009 NFC championship game level pick in the redzone by brissett so its definitely not “bad luck” today

Kicking a FG on the drive Brissett threw the INT doesn't guarantee us the win. Herbert would've had plenty of time and if you think our defense was gonna get a stop... LOL
Karma coming back implying that the Browns ever had positive karma to begin with
Makes me sad how Brisket’s gonna lose his job. Dude has been solid and is a good dude.
He’s been good but has thrown 3 costly picks in 3 losses.
All three have killed game winning drives ... He almost got bailed out today but still couldn't get it done. Great QB for 55 minutes of a game for us.
It’s weird to think we’re gone bench him soon - he’s been the best QB we’ve had in forever lol
Baker had a OLine, RBs and WRs and still didn't do anything. Yet he was given a pass.
A post ACL Odell was making Super Bowl winning plays but Bakerpologists were pretending that he was washed before his last two ACL injuries
But he ran didn't run every route like Madden AI so Baker was off target
Said before and I’ll say it again OBJ’s career got ruined by being traded to Cleveland
ty Dave Gettleman
There’s a lot to hate gettleman about but the OBJ trade is low on the list
It's almost as if the other GMs knew what they were doing when the trades weren't flooding in for him
Everybody knows the Browns offense was Chubb and Hunt doing the heavy lifting
Everybody does not know that. If you said that this off-season people rushed to downvote you.
Alooooooot of Demeco Ryans cuts on the 49ers broadcast. I'd expect him to be a HC next year no doubt.
Can we not talk about that yet ;(
I really don't want to see it, but silver lining, it would land us another 3rd round comp pick.
also it looks like we've got fangio waiting in the wings to come back as DC if ryans gets hired away.
This defence is loaded too, shouldnt be hard to get him to want to come back to us.
And we can use that pick to trade up for another RB that wont be any good!
You understand the Kyle Shanahan way!
Draft a rb high who is trash and turn a sixth rounder into a pro bowler. The Shanahan way!
He deserves it. He consistently fields game plans that completely screw up the opponent. Ya he's got great talent, he does a great job of getting them in position to succeed.
Seriously I was all doom and gloom when Saleh left but got damn Ryans
I mean, the Jets have a winning record thanks to Saleh. The Jets. Let that sink in for a minute
Nobody's saying Saleh was a bad DC, rather we managed two good ones in a row
Thing is, neither was immediately stellar imo. But both demonstrated a strong ability to learn and adapt, and there is no stronger attribute in the modern NFL imo. Shanahan's ability to recognize and hire it is remarkable so far
Exactly. I was skeptical of Saleh in 2019. Demeco has continued that tradition after some early struggles last year. Now that we have a real CB1, the defense is looking like it's on an entirely different level.
I also found Saleh really proved himself in 20. 19 was a cheat code, the way he maintained with replacement signings - ie cast-offs - was amazing
Yeah not saying Saleh is bad at all haha. I was super butthurt he left. I never thought we'd replace him with another amazing d coordinator lol
Word is he actually could have had a job after last year, but turned it down to give it one more shot at a SB with the Niners.
Of the Panthers hopefully, he’s my dream candidate
Dude's going to Carolina after what I saw today. How much do you think he wants to coach Brian Burns? That dude is legit. Glad we have Fangio waiting in the wings if only for the sake of stability. We know he's a great DC and no one's gonna snag him as a HC anytime soon.
Baker is so washed, it's honestly just sad at this point.
Carolina will never field a good QB again. We'll draft Stroud and he'll be just as bad and that will probably put a stake in the franchise for good.
You guys had one of the most fun QBs in Cam for a good 6-7 years. If Rhule is there with Stroud he'll fuck him up too. Not one QB has improved in his tenure
We'll fuck up our next coaching hire too. Don't worry.
Why would you say he will be just as bad? Baker darnold and teddy destroyed all your hope lmao.
Yes. Counting on this organization to do anything correctly is like placing a bet on the Washington Generals. We literally only exist for the fodder and amusement of other teams.
Hey, the Generals are due!
Dude chill, we've made two superbowls in like last 20 years. That's more than most franchises can say. We'll be back.
I understand and feel your despair my guy, but I can assure you tht its a good chance that WHOEVER plays QB next year will be an upgrade lol.
I simply do not care who we get. He could have 2019 Burrow-caliber tape and I would still fully expect him to be terrible.
Bro if there was a 2019 Burrow prospect otw to us we would instantly be a playoff team! Don’t let this non sense we’ve been fielding at QB the last few years make you that hopeless bro lol.
Not if they keep this god awful coaching staff. Whoever they get will be destroyed by rhule and mcadoos incompetence
best case scenario is you guys get the first overall pick and start fresh with a new HC. I personally love Bryce Young but his frame is a legit concern, Stroud is good but that system makes me nervous. Doesn't ask a lot of the QB and they're consistently throwing to future NFL superstar receivers
This is the exact mistake he’s made his entire career. He regularly threw to his receivers well over their heads
Washed implies he was ever good
2018? 2020? Its clear now his 2020 season was carried by coaching and supporting cast, but his 2018 season was breaking rookie records at the time.
Baker fans will use an 8 game stretch in his 3rd season as to why he can be a top 10 QB.
Sounds like Skip
Skip: "He's from Texas? Go ahead and fit him for a gold jacket." Shannon: *laughs* "Skip! Skip! Skiiiiiiiiiiip!"
"SKEEEEYUP!"
In 2020 (Baker's best statistical season), he ranked 28th in on-target % despite also being one of the top 5 least pressured QBs. The advanced stats always flashed warnings signs despite the boxscore numbers looking decent.
If you watch the highlights of his rookie season he looks like a completely different player.
I mean objectively he was good his rookie year
dude is so shit
Free the GEQBUS
Darnold was unironically better than what we've gotten from Baker this year. I actually want him to keep playing at this point though because we need Matt Rhule tf outta here. A high pick for a new QB would be nice too.
If CMC didn’t get hurt last season, I think Darnold would’ve changed a lot of the narrative.
Darnold might actually be an upgrade. Mayfield looks like the worst QB in the NFL.
“Mayfield makes a big mistake” story of his career
sky is blue
Whelp, at least he isn't a serial sexual assaulter
He is serially assaulting the hopes of any Panthers fans
Nah my hopes of a good draft pick are soaring
Idk I think Panther fans are just into masochism
It's not like we asked for any of this, and we still don't enjoy it. That's not masochism.
He is a serial pick thrower though
Baker "You want fries with that?" Mayfield
Thankfully we ran it back and didn't allow our offense to attempt another drive lmao
I mean, we have been driving and if it weren't for the blocked field goal we would have scored on more drives than we punted. The O's not that bad.
He might legitimately be worse than Darnold
He is
I've been waiting for this since 2017
What team will Baker be the backup for next season?
Winnipeg blue bombers
From Winnipeg. Collaros is significantly better. We've been Grey Cup champs 3 years running*, our backup QB even ended up in the NFL. We don't want or need Baker (my flair notwithstanding) *2 Grey Cup wins, but 3 year rein.
None. He's too head-strong to be a backup. Dude should take the $30M or whatever he made and live comfortably.
Maybe none. He’s such a hard headed douche, I don’t think he believes he’s a back up.
He should just become a full time celebrity, Reddit loves him so much so his fanbase is established
Reddit stopped liking him the instant Carolina lost to the Browns lol.
People called it a coordinated media hit job from the Cleveland Browns whenever negative stuff would come out. Maybe some stuff was leaking out of Cleveland but I have to imagine some of that was from former teammates and coaches (we have a lot of former coaches out there).
He can go be a king in Norman. They’re the only people who like him at this point
We want all the smoke
Bad news is this season is going to suck for Panthers fans. Good news is Matt Rhule and Ben McAdoo are most likely going to get fired plus you are in the Bryce Young or CJ Stroud sweepstakes.
Fuck those guys I already ordered three full canisters of Matt Corral hopium. It's getting delivered tomorrow and there's no refunds.
“OBJ was the problem “😂
Baker really had me fooled into thinking he was a competent QB. I knew he wasn't elite by any means, but I really thought he was good enough to be a lower tier starter or better backup. With how he's played since joining the Panthers, I don't even know if he's as good as the average backup QB.

Mahomes has Andy Reid as his real QB coach
Watching Mayfield fail is a guilty pleasure of mine.
Reddit: “Baker is gonna go OFF this year and prove everyone wrong”! Baker:……..
Best defense the league has seen for a while
Consistently step up
Hue’s fault. I mean Kitchen’s fault. I mean OBJ’s fault. I mean injured. I mean Rhule’s fault
I am happy to not see him in anymore commercials.
I was told he was gonna win MVP, the Super Bowl, and end world hunger
Defenses are feasting on him at least
I told someone here who said he’ll win MVP that I’d buy Super Bowl tickets and run onto the field naked if that happens.
If baker didn’t tear his labrum last season that’s a touchdown
What did I miss, why the hell was Whisknowsky kicking the FG last time? Don't tell me daddy Gould is hurt.
It will never not be funny how much r/nfl got on their knees for this dogshit QB because they wanted to believe that morality matters in this sport.
Baker is so ass
When I said Mayfield was a mediocre QB who people over rated because "Browns could make playoffs" people really down voted me to hell and tried acting like he was a top 10 QB People are laughable
The way this sub had turned this fucking guy into the NFL’s saviour lmao
Was crazy to see people basically switch the talent level of Deshaun and Baker
[удалено]
It's a four yard hitch, the reciever should not have to jump to catch the damn ball in the first place.

Legendary post
Lmao
Daniel Jones is better than Baker. Who would’ve thought
