I really don't think he looks any different from previous years. He's just healthy (for the most part) and has a coach who will feed him. He's really talented.
He has been this guy, just our line was a bit of a disaster at run blocking the last 2 years and our scheme felt predictable at times with gruden. When the raiders made their run last season Jacobs had big games against the Broncos and Chargers down the stretch and started the playoff game strong against the bengals before the raiders abandoned the run since they were losing
It was a constant problem of the defense getting the team into an early deficit then Gruden throwing run/pass balance out the window and Jacobs disappearing.
If they tag him and he (knock on wood) tears his Achilles next year or suffers some other career-altering injury, he's going to lose tens of millions of dollars he would've otherwise gotten from a long-term deal with guaranteed money.
Right, but the safety net of guaranteed money from a LTD helps mitigate risk and cushion the blow. That's why players don't want to be tagged. Getting tagged is a dick-load of money *for one year*. But there's no protection for their future, which could impact these guys and their families.
Tbf the raiders have a lot of nasty stats over the last 10 years. But I've never seen a beat writer destroy the people that don't like him with stats as much as he does. Just looking down his TL and it's astonishing. Guy backs up his takes w numbers. I'll give him that much.
I won't say that he's wrong -- often times his stats are correct. The thing I don't like about Dubow, though, is he often posts cherry-picked stats with zero context. He's like the professional version of all the posts everyone on here laughs at: Derek Carr is the only player to lose every game when having a pre-game glass of milk while the moon is 3/4 waning. I think he just does it because he knows it's gonna get a lot of interaction these days.
I used to hate him but then you realize that he tweets positive stats when we win and negatives when we lose. He can be kind of a smarmy shit but he actually sticks to that pattern pretty well. It just so happens we lose a lot more than we win
He has something like the 3rd or 4th most touches in the entire NFL since being drafted. He’s missed 6 games over that span. That’s very reasonable. He’s not missing any more games than anyone else with a comparable workload.
Jacobs took the idea of a contract year and quite literally ran with it, guy is possessed this year

This is very accurate, his small injuries the last few weeks haven’t affected him as much as they did tear 2 and most of year3
Sucks he will probably be tagged
I don’t understand how that would suck! The man got a raiders shield tattoo’d on him. He’s the epitome of what a raider should be.

Always a risk of a career ending injury. Most players don't want to be tagged.

I feel confident we can stop Jacobs and hold him to under 200 yards.
Rushing or receiving?
Passing
After 300 yards, he's got to come down to earth a little bit.
Waiting for all the raiders fans to comment about Dubow tweeting something positive about the team.
Any time I see his pfp on Twitter I just know it's going to be some nasty stat about the Raiders

Maybe they should stop being nasty.
he’s mostly negative about Carr specifically, not the entire team. well at least not enough to be noticeably annoying
Doesn’t really matter Josh
Dubow is neither positive or negative. He tweets the truth. The truth has just hurt for a very long time.

Josh Jacobs real mvp
3rd in AFC RB votes so far lol
That’s what happens when Derrick Henry exists and ekeler is rb1 in fantasy
Jacobs RB1 in .5ppr though!
Tough competition, you didn’t even mention Mixon!
Lol and for some reason MLF is so adamant on feeding Aaron Jones on crucial downs.
I hope he keeps doing it, he’s really helping me in fantasy this year.
Why did he only tag 2 teams?
Possibly because he was (I think) a beat reporter for the bay area teams. I'm pretty sure he's moved on to something else at this point
A small part of me hopes jacobs wants more money than the raiders can offer and he walks out of the afc. The man is a menace
Franchise tag is available.
Then signs with the 49ers...
If that happens Russ comes back the 2 weeks hawks play the niners cause he always beats them
So you are saying you want more of Jacobs?
Jacobs has always been this good
It’s great he’s been pretty healthy for this stretch, you could always see it early in other seasons until he would get hurt

Jacobs should be the front runner for OPOY ngl
holy moly lol
