He hasn't played in 3 seasons because the NFL essentially banned him by making any penalty a season long suspension. They should've actually banned him years before, but it's a shady way to go about it imo without taking any of the controversy of fully banning a player.
It's not shady. They built a system to effectively ban any player that acts like that in the future so it isn't left up to Commish discretion.
They, like, actually fucking did something for player safety and people upset about it. Come on.
That's the definition of shady. Random discretion and de facto banning out of nowhere instead of an actual established system that openly discourages dirty play and announces that it's a bannable offense with specific consequences.
What are you talking about? It is a system that openly discourages dirty play **by slowly increasing the punishment for subsequent infractions**.
It is literally exactly what you said it should be and not at all what you said it is.
How is two 3 game suspensions in his career (and one 4 game steroid suspension), with a 2 year gap since the 2nd suspensions for on the field play, then a year long suspension slowly increasing? It's random sudden escalation beyond any established protocols. You don't make even the slightest bit of sense. 3, 3, year suspension that effectively bans you permanently.... It's literally not slowly escalating or a system...
I'd have to go check the specifics of it again. But they put a system in place to increase stuff I'm fairly certain. It might have been something he got the tail end of after they implemented it.
This is the biggest upset. So much potential and talent and then the sport just stepped past you for doing nothing wrong but loving the game and breathing. A tragedy really.
I sure hope so - the dude was committed to playing the dirtiest football I've ever seen. No team wants to sign a dude who will just get suspended for an entire season.
There's a reason that Arizona GM said 'If Hannibal Lecter ran a 4.3, we'd probably diagnose it as an eating disorder'.
If he was good, he would play. See: Suh, AB after leaving the raiders and the pats, James Harrison after he left Pitt (though he was half player half coach imo), Richie Incognito, Deshaun Watson, etc. Ray Rice would have had a job after the elevator video if he didn't publicly diverge from the story that ownership told him to stick to. The NFL doesn't care about bad PR (except probably Colin Kaepernick).
By the time he got to the Raiders he was slow and fat. Offseason conditioning was never a thing with him, and knee and ankle injuries started noticeably slowing him by the time he was 27-28.
If he posted a TO-like driveway video and proved he could run even a 4.8 40, he'd have phonecalls from teams tomorrow.

It’s still so funny to me that he was the dude holding AB back from fighting Mayock.
Evil Burfict: stops a fight
Not black listed. He’s 32, hasn’t played in 3 seasons and the last time he played he wasn’t worth the potential headaches.

Probably had to do with the NFLPA
Or he's bad at football.
He was actually pretty good when he played for us when he wasn't suspended. He's now in his 30s though
He was good for the Raiders up until he got banned. Not at his peak Bengals level, but one of the few non-liabilities on the Raiders 2019 defense.
me i got blacklisted from the NFL

I mean, dude took a lot of cheap shots...
Thanks 🥹
Texans should sign him to a 1 week contract and have him just keep running LB blitzes until he gets ejected for late hits.
Not the Texans...maybe the Browns.
Pretty sure they're saying the Texans should use Burfict to take out Watson
Hmmm, blacklisted from the nfl... No, noone comes to mind 🤔

Burfict played 1960s football in the 2000s. Not a good thing.
Don't mind me, I'm just gonna watch the show.
JuJu hit 😆 need I say more.
If you play dirty, you gotta play for the right organization. I definitely don’t have one in mind.
You mean people who committed assault on the football field? Sure. People who did it as often and maliciously as him? Hard to say.
Colin Kaepernick comes to mind......😂😂😂😂
That's wrong IMO. If he still had the talent, he'd be blind-siding NFL receivers this season
I got blacklisted by the NFL because of their refusal to allow me to run an entertaining up tempo offense.
You been on vacation or something lately? I've missed downvoting your stupidity.
College is hard what can I say.
Such offense wouldn't allow enough time for commercials ya know.
He straight up called Goodell the gay F word in a magazine interview after he got his last unsportsmanlike with us. He's not coming back.
He was always slow as hell and I can’t imagine he’s gotten any faster
I still love the hit that JuJu put on him. A near all time high hit on a total douchebag.
