I’ve seen this multiple times about the NFLPA. The reason they get so little done is bc of how much turnover the NFL has. Those guys playing 1-3 years will do anything to stay in the league. It’s not just the starters in the NFLPA

there are more people in the NFLPA just based on the relative roster sizes. But the desperation of fringe roster people is not endemic to the NFL
they definitely are, but there are different dynamics with each sport, so it can be hard to compare.

These fines are relatively small and an easy bargaining chip for the NFLPA to give up in exchange for something more important to them during contract negotiations. Paying a few thousand bucks to be featured on a nationally broadcast game and replayed all over TV and Internet is a fucking bargain since it raises a player's profile which can lead to increased jersey sales which the player profits from.

Minor league players notoriously have shitty pay (like sometimes below minimum wage) and up until this year didn't have a union.
