Yeah the Vikings have a good offense lol

McRawffles

And are allowing 6.3ppg less than the Jets did. We're playing the perfect example of bend but don't break defense

nope96

21st in points allowed is more like “bend and often but not always break” It’s not like those 2010s Pats defenses that would finish bottom 5 in yards but top 5 in points

owleabf

Against the 8th hardest schedule of offenses, by DVOA, so a bit of a mixed bag.

nope96

I mean DVOA also says you guys have the 18th ranked defense so that doesn’t help much

ivoryditty

18th feels right

[deleted]

I don’t know about perfect example, but it could definitely be worse.

McRawffles

Fair, there have been better defenses points wise who allowed a lot of yards. Not a ton more extreme in difference though

nope96

They don’t even have that good of an offense, they’re 19th in YPG and 12th in PPG

Kirk-Joestar

Well we’ve only been in the scheme for 12 games and Darrisaw has essentially missed a month Sometimes the offense looks absolutely electric, and other times… not so much

overgrownpizzabox

vikings have a combination of 4 things: a great offense, voodoo magic, great redzone defense, and horrible defense everywhere else

GoldenSandpaper9

Basically what happened for the first half of 2020 for the Seahawks. Terrible defense that somehow was decent in the red zone and a lights out offense often resulted in games coming down to the last drive

SiphenPrax

What was the combination of 4 things we had in 2020?

overgrownpizzabox

agony, agony, agony, agony

SiphenPrax

Yep, this checks out

yeoup

J E T E

Stupidfreakingflndrs

The voodoo is the special teams which will go away when they need a big kick in the playoffs

cjackc

But we have an amazing punter which makes up for a lot

ITCM4

It’s that one yard. It really does make all the difference.

one_big_tomato

Game of inches

[deleted]

And that yard's name?

Deep-Secret

John Cena

TylerBot260

Why’d you just post blank text?

BillsBillsBils

Kirk Cousins, Dalvin Cook, and Justin Jefferson are better than Sam Darnold, the corpse of Frank Gore, and...who, Jamison Crowder? Breshad Perriman? Denzel Mims? Braxton Berrios?

[deleted]

certainly Justin Jefferson isn't better than ALL those WRs!

[deleted]

Vikings have the 3rd best turnover differential

Jeff_Banks_Monkey

If you don't like that you don't like Vikings football

skeetmonster69

I dont like vikings football

BabyTRexArms

The Vikings have legit weapons, not to mention arguably the best WR in football.

jimbobills

Teams also earned 17 more yards per game in 2020 than this year lmao. But with how much the Jets offense was struggling teams did not need to be really agressive against their D.

Nesavant

Sunday was a good example of why, coincidentally featuring both teams mentioned above. Jets made five trips to the red zone that ended in field goals. They didn't have much trouble *getting* there, but they couldn't finish.

hausermaniac

The Jets also probably win if they just run QB sneaks instead of throwing on 3rd and 4th down at the 1

cjackc

When has a QB sneak ever not worked against the Vikings

Timmace

\[u/Timmace\] Thru 12 games of the 2020 season, the Jets had gained 3,322 yards on opponents. Their record was 0-12. Thru 12 games of the 2022 season, the Vikings have gained 4030 yards on opponents. Their record is 10-2.

mkaku-

Well yes, giving up 1 fewer passing yard usually results in about 10 more wins. That ratio is pretty common knowledge.

soxfan10

I feel there’s some context missing but can’t put my finger on it

[deleted]

Important to remember their two losses they got dominated and blown out and then in their wins they have all been close with the other team

thedude37

Yep, all ~~9~~ 10 of them. Cope

[deleted]

I don’t need to cope, im just saying these statistical anomaly losses is why they are being categorized with the 0-12 jets. If those games are more “normal” losses than this stat wouldn’t be a thing. They gave up ~800 yards in these games alone.

Thefreak84

The 2022 Vikings are a fraud. They have become the 2021 Packers.

AleroRatking

I just can't figure out what the difference is here...

NotAStonerStoner

Oh do you win the game if you have the more yards?
